Such a wonderful experience at this gem of a place. A relaxed chef's table experience in a bijou unpretentious venue, with exceptional fine dining set tasting menu. The bon viveur chef & his wife serve & explain each course, interspersed with entertaining anecdotes of the chefs illustrious career. Outstanding value for money & you take your own wine, so don't get to pay extortionate prices. You need to go prepared to join in with the other diners, but for me, this only enhanced the experience. I will most definitely return. Highly recommend a visit.

Fabulous evening at Coventrys Gourmet Food Kitchen with Chef Tony & his wife Debs. It's a tasting menu with a maximum of 12 people sat a one large table. You get to chat with the other guests & with the hosts as the restaurant is lovely & intimate - like being invited to a dinner party, where you have a view of the kitchen. Bring your own booze as it's not able to provide bar facilities. This is great, as it keeps down the cost & you know you are going to enjoy the drinks - you brought them! Glasses, bottle opener & water are provided. Now to the food, each dish was delicious but I'll let the photos do most of the talking. So many processes & so much work goes into each one. As an example, the Home smoked Duck- smoked in a aged oak whisky barrel. The Duck croquettes- Confit leg of Duck with a Duck reduction. Portion sizes are generous for fine dining but luckily my son was there to help out as my appetite couldn't finish every dish. When it came to the dessert - sublime Lemon tart, with just the right amount of sharp to sweet for me, I had to concede & took home some of the Lemon tart with the Honey Tuelle & the petite fours. Far to scrumptious to let my son have, besides, he was pretty full by then too. This was my 2nd visit & I will definitely return again for the fine dining. Haven't tried the other menu's - Such as Breakfast & Fish & Chips but fully intend too.

Wow - what a fantastic place. Recommended by a friend we went for my husbands birthday with friends and weren’t disappointed. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, oh and the food was amazing! We visited Fargo village to get some lunch from the food hall but it was closed! As we were walking around we saw fish and chips being delivered to a table outside which looked amazing. This made our minds up and we ordered our own, they were the best fish and chips we’ve had for a long time! Glad the food hall was closed and we found this incredible place.

Stoke Park School - Educational Chef visit. Our Yr. 10 Chefs have had a fantastic opportunity in welcoming Tony from Gourmet Food Kitchen at Fargo Village, into our school - Stoke Park. Tony demonstrated his 5-course tasting menu to our Yr. 10 Chefs; students were able to observe a wide range of skills, ask questions about the industry, and hear about the career paths Tony has taken in order to reach the success he has achieved. Students tasted his phenomenal April menu unpicking the importance of seasonality, flavour, colour, texture and plating techniques. Many thanks from our Stoke Park Chefs to Tony for giving us his time and sharing his expertise with us. Teachers/ schools/ education; we highly recommend inviting Tony to showcase first hand industry exlerience into the classroom. Our Headteacher has already asked when can he visit us again! Absolutely love this place! The ever changing menu is always inventive and perfectly executed. So much thought goes into each dish, it's a real treat. The BYO concept is also wonderful

We are big fans of this place and one that it struggling, so came to FarGo village to have the fish & chips which they know offer. We sat in as Tony made the meal fresh and it was excellent. The price is comparable to the quality and can’t fault anything. We have the breakfast in our sites next.

We saw that the GFK was offering a fish and chip lunch so went over to try it, we were NOT disappointed at all, it was cooked to perfection and served piping hot, well worth the £12.50. Looking forward to a return visit. Please visit this amazing venue.

What a great dining experience. Seated at a table of 12, we had a couple and a family of 4 with our family of 5. Because you are all seated together there is naturally conversation and that added to the night. Everyone apart from us had been before, recently, so that tells you something. We are booking to go again with friends now. The experience was cosy and informal as well as informative as Tony tells you all about the food he has prepared, all home cooked. An experience for everyone at least once. Top marks!

What a great little find on our doorstep. I visited with my wife, mum and daughters for a Xmas present and it was well worth the visit. Tony only does 12 covers and the courses were all delicious and we had a great evening. Seated on a long single table the evening was filled with great conversation with family and the other couple and family that were dining too. Tony talks you through each of the course and explains the origins of the produce ( I’ve never heard of forced rhubarb!) and how he has lovingly hand prepared it. What a great evening!

Simply fantastic. Four of us visited on a Saturday night and enjoyed a wonderful meal. Excellent food, excellent company and great service, more than a match for the local Michelin starred restaurant. If you want a night out that is slightly different then The Gourmet Food Kitchen is for you. It's bring your own wine, but that suited us fine. Thanks Tony and Deb!

This is my first visit to Gourmet Food Kitchen. Tony and Deb made us feel very welcome, and the food and service were excellent. I wasn't sure about going to a 'chefs table ' type restaurant, but it was a really enjoyable night, meeting new people, eating wonderful food, and Tony and Deb have created a fun, comfortable, and relaxing place to eat. The tasting menu was excellent, and introduced me to food that I'd never eaten before. It was bring your own drinks, which is fine. I'm looking forward to going back there. The price is very reasonable for not only the excellent food but also the whole experience. I can't say enough good things about Gourmet Food Kitchen. Excellent.

Honestly one of the best meals I've ever had. Tony and Deb make you feel welcome the minute you walk through the door. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed. And the conversations with complete strangers flowed naturally right from the start. It's a really special experience that everyone should try. So fun, can't wait to go again!

This was our 2nd time at GFK. Tony is a talented chef, and along with his wife Deb, they work hard to bring fine dining in a home style atmosphere. The food is incredible , 6 courses of deliciousness , using seasonal produce from great suppliers. Super good value, and as the restaurant is unlicensed , it's an affordable night out, as you need to bring your own alcohol . We all need to do more to support chefs like Tony, so if you have a birthday or celebration coming up, or just want a fab night out, this is HIGHLY recommended

My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting last week and eating the February menu. The food was exquisite, we thoroughly enjoyed every single dish. You can absolutely tell that the very best quality ingredients are used. The atmosphere is brilliant and it’s amazing to watch Tony cooking the dishes and talking you through the menu, totally adds to the whole experience. We cannot wait to come back, truly an amazing evening!

It used to be almost impossible to get on here, but over Christmas I noticed there were some spaces and booked up. Fantastic experience, great food, which was explained by the chief Tony and the 12 in a room seemed to work. I can one remember not talking to 3 of the people throughout the night. Bring your own drinks brings down the cost and there was no corkage fee. We will definitely be back.

I had been wanting to go to one of Tony's dining events for ages, but it isn't my husbands bag. He finally came around, and we went last weekend. The food was amazing... Tony cooks his food to perfection and the dishes are things I would never have thought to put together myself. Tony is a great host and very accommodating. As for the company...fab.Meeting new people is also something hubby isn't keep on but we met a brilliant mix of people and the atmosphere was amazing. Was a great laugh...and it's a small world. Husband was very happy, and I am even happier as he wants to go back for more! ☺

We had an absolutely delicious meal at GFK last weekend! The quality of the food, service and ambiance was fantastic! Chef Tony very kindly accommodated my husbands request for no onions and provided him with 2 different alternatives which was very much appreciated. We have travelled a lot and eaten at very good restaurants over the years because we just love good food and this restaurant is really up there - the attention to detail, quality of ingredients and balance of flavours was superb! I was really impressed with my visit to Gourmet Food Kitchen. Tony and Deb made us all feel incredibly welcome and the service was fantastic. Each course was beautifully presented and was explained to us by the chef. The dinner was one of the best I’ve ever had and I’ll be returning without a doubt! I honestly would leave more stars if i could because i just experienced one of, if not the best mouthfuls of food i have ever tasted in my entire life, if you are anywhere near Fargo Village in Coventry forget everywhere else, You NEED to check this place out.

I visited this amazing place on Saturday to celebrate a birthday. What an amazing experience we had. You really do get the fine dining experience for a fraction of the cost! The set is great with a maximum of 12 diners in any one sitting. You are greeted by chef Tony and his wife for what is undoubtedly a gourmet feast. Service starts when all guests are present and the food is served directly from the kitchen you are sitting in. Each course is presented perfectly, and chef Tony gives details of the dish and key ingredients. Once everyone is finnished the plates are removed ready for the next dish. A really quaint setting, and interesting concept. The food was amazing and definitely had me stuffed before deserts came out. I be visiting again and look forward to the joys of the next menu.

This company did the food for my friend's wedding on 20th October at Dodmoor house in Northampton. The canapes were absolutely delicious. The main meal I had was smoked haddock chowder as starter, chicken with potato terrine and veg for main and the most delicious bread and butter pudding for the dessert. Oh my god sums up everything. The food was amazing and presented brilliantly. The best wedding food I have ever tasted. Absolute kudos the the chef and his staff. I would not hesitate to eat here I would definitely recommend this place

Second visit here - amazing food again. Every course was delicious and beautifully presented. I love cooking but it’s a real pleasure to eat the food of a professional chef- his sweetcorn soup with a little sweetcorn dumpling was so tasty- seasoned perfectly. The scallop was amazing too. Can’t fault anything. We love the fact we take our own wine, for the high quality of ingredients used and the fine dining / Michelin standard of food it’s good value and we’ll be back soon.

I visited last night for friends 50th Birthday for the first time. This is a truly unique experience of fine dining. Great food a lovely atmoshere and great service. Every course was beautifully hand crafted and very tasty. I had to pinch myself that I was tasting food of such a high standard within our lovely city as it was definitely more than worthy of a dining experience in London or other European capitals. For a wonderful experience I highly recommend visiting for the gourmet food evening. I will be saving up for another visit for sure.

What an establishment. This culinary journey was booked as a celebration towards a love of food. Nestled in the centre of the Fargo Village, with the ambiance of the jazz night going on over in the next building, my girlfriend and I had such an incredible dining experience. The food was sublime, and the social layout of the dining table really brought everyone together. With Tony and his partner cooking just behind us, discussing his history of chef experience throughout many prestigious kitchens, life stories, and beautifully presented meals, I'd encourage everyone to visit GFK. Great for first dates, anniversaries, lucky treats, and not to mention lunch even being available for people working in the area. One of the best dining experience. Loved every single dish. Well balanced flavours from start to finish. Good portions too. Excellent service from Tony (chef) and Deb (wife). Unique dining experience unlike other establishments- you’re actually sat in a long table with other guests. You can bring your own booze/ drinks as they don’t have a drinks menu. But they do offer coffee/ tea with our last course- petit fours (chocolate made in-house by the chef). There is a shop just around the corner that sells liquor- so you can easily get them before your meal.
