Sunday lunch, packed, but still great service for private party upstairs, preordered food. Will come back again.

We were here for a 50th birthday celebration. The food was excellent, all 15 of us served at the same time. The staff were brilliant, very helpful and accommodating. My first visit to the Old Crown, I was very impressed with the layout and decor. 10/10.

Went with colleagues for the Tuesday night quiz. Jad a great meal, great pub.

Very hard to fault this place, but I asked for a larger plate (the actual plate) to serve my carvery on and it wasn't given. It was only for more veg and potatoes. They had bigger plates.

Lovely food, different to usual pub food choices. Friendly staff. Very pleasant surroundings, good value for excellent meal.

Lovely old pub the food is good quality and you get a good amount been a few times now. Best to book as gets busy especially on Sundays for the carvery. Never had a bad meal no complaints staff are lovely and friendly and very accommodating highly recommend going here. There is a car park but when busy it can be more difficult to find places for parking.

The food and staff are first class. Even though it was really busy we managed to get seated really fast. We got seated upstairs which was very comfortable and relaxing. Service was quick and Sharon who served us was very polite and couldn’t do enough for us. Will definitely be visiting again very soon

After hearing a number of recommendations to try the pub, we decided to go for lunch. We weren't disappointed. The pub does a set lunch,two courses for £10.95.pp. My wife had the fishcake, I had the gammon. Both meals served with amazing chips. I had a lovely cheesecake for dessert. My wife's apple crumble was also very nice. (I had to help finish hers. ) We will be back to try the Sunday roast.

Went on Monday because it was Richard's Birthday. Didn't know it was Bingo. Had an absolutely brilliant time! Had a great laugh with the ladies at the neighbouring tables. Andy had the whole pub sing Happy Birthday. Sharon, Andy and all the staff are brilliant. And the food is excellent!

Came for Sunday lunch for first time yesterday on recommendation. Originally booked for 7 of us, had a last minute change to 8 and although they were absolutely full, the tables were changed around to accommodate us even though we said we'd squash in as it was our late change. Food - majority of us had the carvery which was superb, lots of choice, good quality and piping hot. Those that didn't have the carvery also said their food was excellent too. Being starving we went straight up to the carvery as soon as we ordered! Those that didn't have the carvery only had to wait about 10-15 minutes for their food, which was impressive considering how busy it was. Service - absolutely faultless. As I mentioned they were very, very busy. We were sat on Table 2 and our waitress, sorry didn't catch your name, was brilliant. Always smiling, always attentive and very informative. Drinks orders were taken quickly as was the food mains and desserts. Overall thoroughly recommend. Make sure you book!

I chose this place to break a long journey as it’s only a short way from the motorway and not in the town centre. I’d also read good reviews and they were right. The place is well appointed, clean, tidy, warm and welcoming, as is the staff. I ordered the shin of beef with champ and it was served in a timely manner and was delicious. I will certainly come here again next time I’m making this journey.

Went for a meal with family (11 of us) and I must say the food was excellent and come out at the same time and there was no complaints and al orders were correct - everybody enjoyed their food, the portions were good and the service was great - it’s the first time I have been - and I will definitely return for sure.

Love this pub. Landlady and landlord are exceptional, staff lovely and friendly and food really delicious. Booked for lunch online and immediately received a call from Sharon to advise that bingo took place early afternoon. This gave me the choice to move the time of booking. We booked for a party of 29, pre ordered food, arrived and staff were on the ball and couldnt have helped anymore than they did. The food all came out on time at the same time which was amazing considering order for 29 people and we were aware there were other large groups at the same time. The food was lovely not one person had a bad thing to say about it. We had use of the function room which was lovely. Thank you the old crown Lee the manager, Holly & Sharon especially. I will continue to recommend and definitely book again.

Lovely pub , went for lunch with my daughter and Dad , food was delicious, came quickly and served hot . The waitress Sharon was so friendly and welcoming and made a proper fuss of my dad who doesn't get out often as he is a full time carer to my mum who has Dementia. Will definitely be returning

We have just celebrated an 80th birthday here. There were 17 of us. Pre Ordering our meals meant quick and effective service. The meals were delicious and value for money. The pub is lovely but most of all Sharron and the staff were amazing.

I’ve visited several times And the weekday set menu is Great value But Service is very slow if it is busy, over a hour for starters and meals not coming out together. Sunday carvery is way over priced for what it is (gravy just powder and water no stock or flavour, veg seemed frozen and not cooked and I like my veg aldente, the mash seems like a cheap smash with a bit of parsley no seasoning, frozen deep fried roast pots and parsnips the other veg swimming In water, everything wasn’t hot and this was at 12noon, the meats and yorkie were good) You can get better and cooked from fresh roast for £13 shouldn’t be over a tenner for that quality My tip: Go here to take advantage of lunch offer, the food isn’t worth the full price purely based on freshness and quality of the food on offer, the service staff I must say are helpful and friendly.
