Dined at Mini Grill last night and had a great meal. The only thing meatier than the steaks was our lovely waitress Trish's banter. Recommended, and was open on a Monday which was useful!

The restaurant had been recommended to us by other family members and we were not disappointed. Fabulous starters and steaks and the desserts looked amazing although we had no room after being a tad greedy with the weight of the aged steak. Service was friendly and fas.

Food was excellent value for money - Sirloin was just over £30, but about 350g of perfectly cooked medium rare steak - cannot complain. Both desserts were lovely and we were given a complimentary starter/Primi course. Restaurant area was well decorated and matched the atmosphere and food. The only let-down, unfortunately, was the service. Initially very helpful with sorting out free car parking at the hotel and taking our coats. Subsequently had 4 bugbears regarding service: 1. After finishing our mains it took 15/20 minutes (at least) for our plates to be cleared. I could only see around a dozen other diners in the restaurant (at least 4 wait staff that I could count). We had to politely request a desert menu, which precipitated our table being cleared. 2. Ordered a double espresso with dessert and was brought something between a flat white and a latte. Mentioned it to the server who apologised and promptly brought over an espresso
maybe the second half is still in its way?
 3. Asked for directions to the toilet and was told “it’s the door over there”. Went ‘over there’ to find 3 doors (restaurant is dimly lit, which does add to the atmosphere, but makes discerning the toilet door sign ((dark mahogany/wood panelling on the doors) somewhat difficult). 4. Mandatory 10% service charge added to the final bill. Mandatory service charges in the UK are always a bugbear for me. Always slightly easier to swallow if the service has genuinely been high quality
unfortunately this had not been our experience. Food was great quality and value for money. Service left quite a bit to be desired.

Ahh a few things with this place. Firstly the food is actually good, they’re not very good at listening to instructions though, asked for no sauce and genuinely think they gave me double what they normally would. Not just once but also the second time ordered and that was sadly the last time for me. Secondly, they pick and choose when they rely on the community. They state they have outside catering and that before Covid they were a catering company bla bla bla but when they aren’t “outside catering” they decide it’s time to open to the community. You’re either a catering company or you’re a takeaway and if you wanna be both
hire more and be both. Don’t pick and choose when you want the communities business and I’m not the only person who picked up on this. Just see their Facebook page. Again apart from that, the food is good, it is fresh, staff can be blunt but most times they’re okay. The clearly can’t accept constructive criticism from they’re replies to negative feedback on trip advisor and they will think this is negative by actually I’ve given them 3/5 because the food is nice and fresh. That’s all.

We have been going to the restaurant now for many months. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, never have to wait to be seated and the menu is huge. You are spoilt for choice when u order. The table service is great, food always comes early or at least on time and very very tasty. The house sauce is to die for. Definitely recommend this!

Ordered two burgers and both were wrong. First one was specifically no onion and after leaving and opening it, it contained onion. The second burger was no smash sauce but again contained it. Far too much sauce too so not enjoyable. Place was quiet so shouldn’t happen. I come here lots but pretty disappointed this time. Doesn’t provide much confidence especially when it’s an allergy order.

I phoned after 1 hour wait. When will it arrive? Double checked they had the right address. No they had the wrong one. So gave right one again over the phone. Delivery guy in street driving about could see him asking neighbours directions. He saw me waving and came up. He had a different number to my address. Was paying cash and noticed half the order missing. No can of coke or chips. Maybe the driver took it, as it was on the receipt. Cannot prove that though. It was, delivered by a just eat driver even though I phoned direct. Yet full price charge. Had to sort that. Food getting colder. Just lost a potential good customer. Beware. Of what food we got, was by now cold. Ruined our night. I usually ALWAYS Collect a takeaway myself. Now I know why. They simply are not capable working people. Dreadful. Steer clear.
