Smashburger in Glasgow City

I was the only customer ,which was strange seen so much Ytube videos regarding smashburgers so I gave it a try and I must admit it was pretty good, order to service was fast since I was the only customer the restaurant was very clean would visit again if I was passing by

Food was really good, same they don't do hot drinks

The burger was just about edible, certainly no better than a big mac from down the road at twice the price. Not surprisingly, the place was almost empty. I'll not be back.

Just not for me. The food was good, but by the time it arrived, it was cold. Hoping it was just a busy night, staff looked like they were trying.

This was my first visit to Smashburger, and I wasn't disappointed. This isn't a BK or MacD's. It's a proper burger joint, and you'll have to be prepared to pay extra for the food, which, for me, was excellent. Prepared and cooked from scratch, it's well worth the money. The service was excellent, and the only reason I gave 3 stars for the atmosphere was because it was New Years Eve, and I was the only dine in customer.

This burger is the worst one I’ve ever eaten in Glasgow. Just want to share a few points: 1. The bun is cold and wrinkled, it has no fluffiness or elasticity at all, and got stuck together after biting into it. This seems to be a common problem with buns here. For example, the buns from China Court Bakery, a Hong Kong-style bakery on Garscube Road, also has the same problem. In comparison, I have to say buns from Macdonald is more elastic and fluffy. 2. The beef patty is said to be made by smashing a beef ball, which retains the juicy taste to the maximum extent. However, it actually turns out to be too salty, probably because the maker didn’t pay attention to the salt when frying and the salt was spread unevenly. The beaf quality is just average, not juicy at all, nothing special. 3. Cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and sauces are just ordinary and have no merit. Summary: This burger is definitely not worth spending £10+ on it. As the two souls of a burger, the bun tastes bad and the beef patty is too salty. It is amazing that this burger maker can make both things so bad at the same time. This makes me wonder if the people have being too nice to the food quality? Well, maybe this is just because the employees in this store are poorly trained and the management has too low standard. Now I understand why this store is always quite empty with no customers, which is in sharp contrast to the Macdonald next to it.

First time using , excellent burgers fabulous fries and amazing onion rings

Food is great, but I have ordered from here twice through deliveroo and both times the food has been very late and arrives cold. They use their own delivery service, which clearly has issues.

I actually ordered through deliveroo from here, but no one actually arrived to pick up my order so I had to go in myself. Manager was apologetic and made sure my food was cooked fresh when I arrived. She also suggested I cancel the order with deliveroo which I reluctantly did, but thankfully when I explained the situation to customer service they said they would cover the cost. Food was great, and would definitely eat from here again.

Terrible experience through Deliveroo. Ordered at 6:30. Phoned several times to be told they had no drivers. Gave up on order by 9 and the order was cancelled. Ordered elsewhere. However Deliveroo driver turned up at 11 as I was going to bed. He took a photo at my door and insisted I took it. Deliveroo will not refund saying it’s smash burgers responsibility. Lost for words. Shocking experience

The burger and chips were great. I went in late on a Friday night and the place was empty, therefore I can't comment on the atmosphere.

Quiet Tuesday night burger. Excellent food and excellent service . Staff very friendly and efficient.

Underwhelming I'm afraid. Staff were pleasant enough but apart from show us to our seat and take the money and park the food on the table there's really not much for them to do. Smashburger was decent but not for £11 . Loaded Fries £8 is more like a side dish. Far to much cheese on the fries. Quite sickening. Would prefer more fries and less fixins. Milk shakes were pretty tasteless and weirdly very small if you dine in. Much bigger and nicer looking in the clear plastic cups we were served in the drink cup. Basically would have been better ordering to our hotel room. No atmosphere. 2000 Saturday night at end of month. Glasgow was jammin.

I dropped in here on a Sunday afternoon for a bite to eat. It was very quiet which I like. I was greeted straight away and given the menu and an order number. Once I sat down, I scanned a QR code on the menu to place an order. The burgers looked huge so I stuck to one thing. The waitress asked me if I wanted a glass of water as I hadn’t ordered anything with my food. This was welcome and refreshing and free of course. I had the chicken burger with added blue cheese and ranch dressing. Total bill was £11.95. So it’s not the cheapest place Ian town but it was worth it. The toppings were fresh and a good size portion. The staff were friendly and helpful. The place was very clean and had the look of the typical American burger joint. I would recommend this place.

Staff were nice, however two burgers + fries took 25 minutes to be served. When they arrived all of the food was cold. Certainly not £30 worth of food or experience.

Food: It is what it is, a mighty tasty burger. Staff: Incapable of smiling. Too busy with their own conversations and checking phones. Glad I’m not paying their salaries.

Reminds me of the Smashburgers in the US. Sometimes, you get American cuisine outside of the US, and it doesn't taste the same. Smashburger would pass a blindfolded taste test in a side by side comparison with it US sibling. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly and not too expensive.

The food was decent but I couldn't finish it(portions were way too big) . Ordering and paying throught their website was a nightmare and you couldn't order through the till. Overall not very memorable

Excellent burger options if you are gluten free. Bun is an extra 50p but it's nice. Doesn't fall apart like many others. Burgers are tasty, toppings are plentiful and sides are nice too.

The food in this place has gone down hill, burgers used to be full of flavour, not so much these days and dont get me started on their milkshakes, used to be made with pure hagen dazz now its a tiny bit of hagen dazz ice cream and full of milk now but they still charge the same price! I used to spend over £100 a week at this place mostly when they did churros and now stopped selling them and bought from here because of their delicious milkshakes but even they are watered down by loads of milk now!! Milkshakes no where near as tasty as before and that was the main reason i would spend over £100 evey week here! Not now im afraid!! Go back to the milkshakes you did in the past and i might consider coming back guys!!

First time here today, and it was a lovely burger, I had the Oklahoma Mushroom Blue Smash™ Burger, which was very tasty, the fries were also very nice and all was freshly prepared and hot. Will be back if I am ever in Glasgow again.

Found this place by accident. Thought we would try it out. Food was great. Friendly staff. Would recommend & will return again to try other things on menu

Overpriced and small portions. Burgers about £10-14 each and don't even come with fries on the side or anything. Not really impressed at all. Thank you to the restaurant for responding. I still do not think this is £35 worth of food and it is hardly "hand crafted" to put some sauce on tatertots and deep fry some pickles. I have attached a photograph for further evidence. If you're looking for a good food in town try thundercat or bucks bar

Literally the best burger I have had for years! And the service was great they actually did so much more than they needed to to make myself and my children welcome. I will be back 100%

Inside was almost empty. The staff was busy with orders taken away. They didn’t explain in the beginning that they don’t take payment on the the table and I have to go to cashier make my order and pay and then back to table wait my burger. I was no rush so it’s was ok for me but waste a bit time till understand myself how it situation. I really enjoy my burger. I should say it’s really fresh and juicy. So I really recommend this place

The burger was very juicy and I loved it!

We went mid-week lunchtime, the restaurant was quiet but we still had to order on the app whilst the waitress stood about. The SmashFries were 10/10 but the burgers were average. We ordered drinks, they came in a bottle with no glass or ice (which was ok, we didn’t ask but usually comes as standard) Restaurant is really nice and fresh but lacked a little atmosphere (maybe that is because it was quiet). I would go back for a quick bite but had better burgers.

We visited and it was super quiet with only 2 others in the whole restaurant. Ordered 2 ice cream sundaes. One sundae was brought over and then a 5 minute wait for the next one, it was the wrong order when was brought over. After another 10 minutes the other sundae was sent over. It wasn’t the sundae we ordered and was a terrible basic vanilla ice cream with some chocolate sauce. At £5.95 we should have asked for a refund but after a very long day out and at 6.45pm it wasn’t worth the hassle. Will not be visiting again. Highly dissatisfied and disappointed.

Got my order wrong paid alot for an average burger

I had a tasty meaty burger with extras, and shared some potato and sweet potato chips. It was large and nothing was greasy. I'd go again.

Was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday lunchtime but then again it is January. Kids, hubbie and I all ordered burgers - classic, grilled chicken and classic veggie. Burgers were amazing, so tasty and fresh. Kids especially loved their classic burgers. Would definitely return.

The smash burgers are amazing! The one with caramelized onions was delicious.

We had lunch here, it's a nice place. Food is OK, we ordered two burgers and they were good and one portion of sweet potato chips (these were full of oil and no crispy at all). It's not easy order food, because (we were tourist) we had to download an app, in order to order and pay... It took a lot of time. A kind lady helped us because it's mandatory also to register a number but it should be an English number and we didn't have it. It's ok overall.

Ordered online. Order stuck on prep for 1hr30 then the restaurant cancelled it without calling me. Phoned the restaurant. No explanation or apology, told me to order again 2hr30m after initial order was accepted.

Took my Nephew who has autism and the staff could not have been more understanding.

Paper thin pattys, skimpy cheese, a few mouthfuls of ketchup, mustard and not much else. At 10.95 a burger I hoped for a bit of quality or at least quantity, but received neither. Got the Oklahoma style which might be accurate if Oklahoma were full of skinny rich folk with no taste buds. Restaurant was dead, staff unhelpful, I just came for the food but wish I hadn't.

Food was absolutely amazing. Burger was top notch and the seasoned fries were scrumptious. Server was pretty rude and very unenthusiastic which I found was off putting but the food was so good I’m still giving 5 stars

Worst ordering experience i've ever had, their stupid website that you need to order on is slow and has a terrible UI, I had a code for university freshers week that would give me a discount on the burgers, tried again and again to get it to work, eventually it said that the code has been successful, then it charged me the full amount anyways, burger was alright but its quite expensive

The food was good however this is yet another example of a company that has decided to ditch customer service in order to go over the top on covid regulations whilst also trying to make a maximum of cash through discounts to attract students. Me and my friends visited after we got a discount for the location and upon entering we met an employee who rather than welcome us started yelling at us to use the hand sanitizer next to the door and not to cross the yellow tape line on the floor despite us being the only people in the store. We proceeded to show our discounts. the employee decided to tell us they were only valid for one type of sandwich and that everything else was full price despite the digital discount stating otherwise (said discount was given to every student in the halls of accommodation of the university of glasgow) Me and my friends ordered our sandwiches and asked if there was any seating and we were told that we would have to sit outside due to covid restrictions on benches that looked as though they got cleaned once a week. Our food was mediocre quality at best and i asked for my sandwich to not have cheese and there was cheese in it anyway despite a 10 min wait for 3 sandwiches. After finishing my meal i went back inside the shop to wash my hands when the same employee told me that i wasnt allowed to come back in and that i should use the hand sanitizer at the entrance instead. Probably one of the worst fast food experiences ive had in my life.

Update: Tried another order on 23 October 2022. The item came completely wrong. On calling the restaurant they were in no way helpful and said I would have to go through Deliveroo even though it was their cook who obviously made the error. A remake would take 1hr 40 mins. Not good at all. Let's just say there will not be a third-time lucky! Ordered from Deliveroo. The delivery was delayed, probably due to the Queens funeral but when the food came it was cold. I do not own a microwave and am having to heat it up in the oven. Not ideal. Deliveroo offered a laughable £3.98 credit on a £20 burger and fries. I was so looking forward to it and now its a chore to heat it up and I don't even want it. A shame.

Burger was decent but wasn’t what I actually ordered and unfortunately I was already far from the restaurant when I noticed. Pretty poor to spend that much on a burger and not actually get what you paid for.

We’ve been here a few times and really enjoyed it. On this visit the staff were very in interested and we had to ask for cutlery and napkins 3 times. It wasn’t busy either which made it worse. Won’t be returning sadly.

Dropped in during the week. Restaurant was quiet. Served quickly, food was good, lots of choice. Staff were friendly and efficient. A great first visit.

BIG RIPOFF I went here with great expectations as the pictures and menu looked good. Staff where pleasant and the place was clean but when my order came I was grossly disappointed with what I got for the money. I got 2 burgers, chips with jalapeños and a drink. The size of the burger is a disgrace and the picture is very misleading. By way of example it is about 30 percent smaller that a big mac but is over 10 pounds. The portion of chips is nearly 5 pounds and my drink was 3.75. As to taste well it’s ok it’s but the potion of meat it has a small! This place genuinely is an appalling rip off and 31 pounds for 2 burgers 1 chips and 1 drink is truly disgusting pricing for what it is. I definitely will not be back and feel grossly misled by the advertising!!!

We ordered two burgers and a portion of fries and we paid almost 40 pounds. Yes tge burger was good. The fries even better, but the portion were really silly small. It was for children menu. If you are hungry don't order from there. If you have already eaten and you want a good burger for a finish and you don't really care about the money you want to spend, then go agead and order. I had the grilled chicken with swiss and mushrooms and the rosemary fries. Delicious! Lots of fries for sharing.

Burgers were great! Spicy and tasty. The baja cobb salad was amazing! Child's portion was good, a bit big but delicious. A little overpriced. They had vegan options.

First time visiting here and it certainly wont be the last, i think it was like a five guys kinda vibe with the layout and burgers, but much more better and more reasonable priced. The servers were lovely and very attentive, my partner and i had the meal deal came to £34 something. We ordered the oklahoma hot and spicy and the spicy jalapeño baja, fries we both got the smash fries with rosemary and garlic dressing and omg these were the best fries iv ever had. Will definitely be back

The only good thing that I can say is the location and the massive portion of fries you get when you order. Other than that it was disappointing and stupidly prices for the quality of food it was on par or worse than weatherspoons and that food would cost three times more. Which considering my burger was chewy and the bun was hard it was extremely off putting. I wouldnt recommend it unless you wanna waste your money and your time.

Used to be incredible but seriously gone down hill. The walls were dirty and they seem to have changed the menu so you can't build your own burgers anymore. The food itself was unappealing, lacking flavour and expensive for what was served. The bacon was cheap and really fatty, the chicken burger had a chunky texture and the beef burger was somewhat chewy. Never finished the food and when I brought this up to the server, he seemed clueless and said there was nothing he could do so I had to speak to the manager on shift. She seemed lovely and gave me an email address to fix the issue.

The food was ok but very expensive for what you get. I got a bacon cheeseburger, fries and coke and it was over £20. Also, you order using a QR code on the menu, it requires email / phone number to place my order and I clicked DO NOT AGREE to be contacted. Within 24 hours I have received several spam mails about accounts being opened at banks and fake job opportunities worth thousands of pounds a month. Burger was ok but not worth the hassle at all.

The staff were so lovely and welcomed us in despite it being nearly closing time, very grateful for an awesome vegan burger having been in the car for a long drive from London. Delicious food, quick service and lovely people.

I have to say how pleasantly surprised I was at my experience at SmashBurger. The staff were very friendly, even when they were busy. The food was excellent, although I didn’t have a burger my daughter, son-in-law and granddaughters thoroughly enjoyed theirs. I had the sweet potato fries and and tried some tater tots with the cheese, bacon and bbq sauce and I have to say they were amazing. I would totally recommend giving it a go and will indeed go back. I only gave a 4 star rating as I didn’t use all the facilities, but I am impressed otherwise.

Wasnt a smashburger, it was a rubber-like pre-cooked patty that was slightly squashed and under-salted. Dryed-out bun. Burger was too tall to enjoy. Fries were good, but lack of dips, just heinz bottle or mayo bottle (covid?!?). No drinks selections other than cans or bottles. Not worth £15 all-in. Nowhere near.

I enjoyed this experience though not for the faint walleted. Car parking in streets around by buying tickets or in multi storeys. Food was freshly prepared and beautifully cooked. We had the simple classic burger with herby fries, and it was all very tasty. Ordered via the website and it all arrived very quickly, courtesy of friendly staff. My only gripe (and this is personal so does not take points off) is the constant flow of delivery drivers in and out, leaving the door open and making a lot of noise. Since Covid, this phenomenon has really become dominant in fast food restaurants and one feels at times that the owners need to decide what they are. Be warned this is not cheap - two burgers, fries and milkshakes = £40. Would I return? Probably not, a bit pricey for me given the fast food nature of the restaurant and the delivery driver focus rather than the customer. But I really did appreciate the quality of the food.

We walked into an empty Smash burger, with only a handful of delivery boys waiting outside. We were offered a seat below the stairs, absolutely dark and dirty! All other tables were empty. I asked if we could sit elsewhere and the lady rudely asked "Why?". I mentioned that the seat offered looks dirty and is directly under the stairs. I pointed out that all other tables are empty. She reluctantly said "then pick a table you want and sit there". This is not the type of experience we expect from Smash Burger. We have been to the Dunfermline one and never had a bad experience.

Wish the burger favours were more intense.
