Decided to give the 'new' 55 another visit since opening. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. The place was busy but mostly with punters sitting having a drink. Decided to order food. Menu isn't big, possibly as it is a fairly small establishment. Food was presented well, and for all that the cjicken was good the sauce lacked in taste. However, the fries were tasty. I would return but for drinks and a small plate only.

We visited this premises whilst on the way back to Glasgow from a day out at Loch Lomand. Whilst it was our intention to eat there, unfortunately it was a Monday and the kitchens were closed. We did stay for a drink but it turned into several due to the hospitality of the general manager Bryan. He made us so welcome and he was so friendly and informative regarding local spirits, a trait that you don't come across that often, whilst at the same time being attentive to other customers. I understand the premises are now under new management and prior to this they reputation was not great having spoken to others who had used it in the past. Although I was staying with my nephew in Glasgow but now back in England, I will certainly be back at this establishment on my next visit and will make sure its when the kitchens are open. On a final note good luck to Bryan and staff In making the 55 bar and grill a warm friendly place and we wish you much success in the future. Cheers Val & Tracy Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5

Called into 55 last night, my husband was wanting fish and chips, both the fish and chips were lovely. The service was first class. The bar staff and manager were really busy but very pleasant and friendly. Although they were busy they had time to chat while working. Scott’s French martinis were first class. Will definitely be back

Pleasantly surprised by this gem of a place. Had noticed some bad reviews from the past but with the new manager, Brian, now in charge, things appear to have taken a turn for the best. The service, ambiance and quality of food was outstanding – the steak sandwich was absolutely delicious and the freshly battered haddock could have fed two. Great price, great service, great experience. Would highly recommend.

A wee day out, and not often I get to say this nowadays but the cocktails were the best I’ve had in a long time. Prices were great. the cocktails as you can see were amazing. Hubby’s pint was also fab. I spoke to Brian the manager and found out there was a reason the drinks were fab he has a wealth of experience as a mixologist.

Called into 55 last Friday and Saturday. A lovely atmosphere on both evenings. The staff were very helpful and service was great. Unfortunately, we were not eating however, the quality of food coming from the kitchen looked amazing and we'll definitely be back to try it out.

Food took ages, arrived cold and not great. This used to be a great place but has recently been taken over and the new management don't have much restaurant experience. I just suggested food be reheated and was barked at by the manager, very loudly in front of other customers. Then stormed off eye rolling and shaking head. Not a great evening and the couple we were with were from overseas and wanted to eat local. There are plenty of nicer places in the area and friendlier. Won't be back

We went for a Christmas meal. It was the first time we have been since the refurbishment and we weren’t impressed, to say the least. We ordered olives, sourdough and hummus to start which took 40 mins to come. The hummus was tasteless and the olives out of a can and not at all like the description on the menu. My friend ordered the salmon which was dry with a paste like tomato sauce that she couldn’t eat. My chicken burger seemed like a safe choice but I’d have had better in McDonalds. It took three attempts to get the bill right. The only positive was the Albarinho wine which was fine. Definitely not going back!

Really nice refurb of this place but unfortunately found it average. It was almost an hour after arriving that our food came and that was after a couple of visits back from staff to advise various drinks we'd orderee weren't available. The staff were fine but never acknowledged the wait. There seemed to be a lack of staff in general. The food was fine enough but overpriced for what it was. Would come back for a drink in a nice setting but wouldn't go for food again.

This place is comical at best 4 from our party of 9 arrived and I ordered a Stella, waitress looked at me dumbfounded so I had to explain what it was. She came back to inform me they had run out. I ordered a Tennents. 5 minutes later she informed me they had poured almost to the top of the glass but then ran out!!☺️ I ordered a Moretti and was brought an IPA which I accepted as I was planning to be in bed before midnight The rest of the party turned up with similar problems with the wine. The meal was excellent however when it came to dessert time (915) we asked the waitress to see the menu again. This prompted Chris the chef to ring his service bell vigorously as we were seated at the service hatch, he mumbled something to the waitress who came back to tell us the kitchen was closed!! 🤷🤷 She then rushed off with no further explanation As Chris was standing there one of our party asked him how on earth he could be closed, he aggressively informed us that he finished in 20 minutes. In my near 30 years dining experience both as a customer and as a worker I have never known a table to basically be shut down during service For the next 20 minutes the chefs wiped down a couple of surfaces but basically had no reason to decline a table their desserts To finish off the hilarity when finished they went straight to the bar in their civvies and proceeded to sink a couple of pints I’m not sure who runs this establishment but the word professional is certainly not one I would use and I would encourage diners to avoid this place.

This bar/restaurant has been so many incarnations since we first moved to Bearsden over 20 years ago! It is nice to see that it seems to be back in safe hands as we had a lovely meal here tonight! Lovely refurb with great food, great service and very reasonably priced! I really hope it does well as Bearsden has been crying out for a really good bar/restaurant to take the family for a meal or go for some drinks with friends!! It also serves gluten free which is great for us!! Thoroughly recommend

Lovely, great food and good customer service. Lived in Glasgow for 13 years and never knew this place existed. Went for the first time on Monday with work and loved it so much came back on Friday. One of us had an egg allergy, one vegetarian and there was food for us all. For a small local restaurant it really is lovely. Only one thing would be men’s toilets were not great but it was a busy night.
