Dum Indian Kitchen in East Dunbartonshire

Best tasting Indian takeaway in the area so far in my opinion. Other Indian restaurants and takeaways will have to up their game. Compliments to the chef , the food was delicious

twice i have had issues with delivery. first time, it was clear that the driver (or someone) had dipped into the food and eaten some of it. this second time, the driver had clearly got lost, phoned me a couple of times to say he was at the house though he clearly wasn't. by the time the food finally arrived, it was cold. so, rather than sitting down to dinner after a longggg day at work, i am in the car and taking the food back to the shop. there then follows the hassle of getting the order cancelled by yoyo. this is pending and if i don't get a successful conclusion, i will follow it up...legally. this is a shame as the food is generally good but god knows where they get their delivery drivers from. this is too stressful and i will not be using them again. EDIT: the guys organised a speedy refund. we discussed and will probably use again, though not using delivery

Ordered food via phoning directly because I wanted a specific vegetarian dish. As I’m just outside of the delivery zone I drove to get it (15 mins). Got home and my husband decanted the curries out and once it was in front of me I found that the the vegetarian dish was actually a chicken curry. This meant I had no dinner. I phoned to tell them and they said they’d replace it despite it being outside of the delivery area - which I accepted but they also asked if they could get the wrong curry back. I said no because it had already been decanted out onto a plate with other food. About 15 mins past and they phoned back to say they wouldn’t replace the curry as it was outside of the delivery zone and they will try to be more careful next time. So there are several reasons there won’t be a next time: 1 - Despite phoning and having a conversation that revolved around ordering a specific vegetarian curry, they still got it wrong 2 - as they wanted the wrong curry back I can only assume they planned to resell it and I really don’t want to receive food that may have been opened by someone else and returned 3 - they made no effort to refund me or offer any solution which is a breach of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 as they sold me something that is different from what I asked for and made no attempt to rectify. My advice to them is when you get something wrong, at the very minimum you refund the cost. My advice to potential customers - if they get something wrong, they don’t handle it well.

Had my first takeaway from here yesterday and the food was divine. Perfectly cooked and very tasty and authentic. Definately up with the best I’ve had and I’m pretty selective with food. Staff were very pleasant and I picked up from the Restaurent and everything ready as arranged . I have to say this place is outstanding and should definately be sampled . My go to. Each dish definitely tastes different from others and has lovely fresh ingredients. Wish they had a sit in.

I have tried Dum, Ashoka and Classic India a few times each. While Dum feels more expensive, it is consistently higher quality than the others. This time I really savoured every mouthful!

Excellent lamb Biryani and naan bread , fresh and tasty food .

The food is really delicious and the quality of the meat is fantastic. Definitely recommend their green herb chicken tikka!

Starter prawn pakora was cold and tough , they forgot the rice had to wait 30 minutes for them to bring it ,then tried to charge me for the rice again

Food was amazing but unfortunately it took a while as driver could not find the address. Would definitely recommend tho as lamb biryani is the best I've had!

Just had a chicken bhuna from the Dum and i can honestly say it was absolutely beautiful large pieces of tender chicken the sauce beautiful as was the rice

Ordered online only to discover that the online menu is more expensive than simply phoning in. Was charged a 40p ‘service charge’ which I presume covers the cost of using a third party to handle the ordering system. Why they have then added a pound onto every dish isn’t clear.

This is the second time i have experienced the food at Dum. First time i had a chicken bhoona. Which i can't fault regarding the quality of the food it was "first class" ingrediants. The only problem i had was it was pickled with salt. Few weeks later i said i would try a Second curry which was a chicken dopiaza again it was very salty!! I noticed one review about 7 months ago they had said the same thing. Would be good if the chef could be a little lighter with the salt.

All these other Indians are no way near as good as here. Best food I’ve had in a while. Very very nice!

Food was absolutely great but.. it came after 1.5hours. This would be a great review but for it being so late in arriving and us being told twice the food was leaving in 5min only for it to be delayed again both times.

Didn't want to write this review as I very selfishly don't want it to become too popular with the possibility of it not continuing to be this good Unbelievable authentic Indian food .Can say the best iv had in east dunbartonshire and the best iv had in Glasgow in ages . Please continue serving the amassing food that you do

First time I tried this place last night. Had a Lamb biryani and a butter Chicken. Both were lovely! Fresh ingredients, fragrant, healthy and the yoghurt dip was tops! Looking forward to trying more from the menu! Well done chefs - delicious!!!! 😀

Best Curry I’ve had in a while! Food was super fast and super tasty. Got two currie’s and some hot wings which came with a beautiful mint sauce!! highly recommend for a little treat!

Our first experience with DUM was very positive. However, on our second attempt, we were given an estimated wait time of one hour. After two hours we still had no food despite reassurances on the phone from the restaurant. When the food arrived it was lukewarm and we had to hear it up. I appreciate this is unusual for the restaurant as Google has many positive reviews, including our first. However, with the price we paid and the total wait time of 2 hours and 5 minutes , I doubt we will use them again.

We found the food to be authentic, tasty and fresh. My family, including our boys enjoyed the food. Our favourites are butter chicken, monk fish tikka masala and dum Biryani. The naans were soft and fresh. Dum Kitchen is a good addition to Bearsden, I recommend their food.

The food was amazing! Very authentic and definitely recommend we had Dum lamb with Dum chicken biryani and Aloo Saag. Only thing I would point out it if you opt to pay with cash make sure to have the correct money as the delivery driver didn’t have any and 7 quid would have been a bit much for a tip 😊. Perhaps something for the management to take note of. Definitely be back again!

So fresh and delicious! I have never had chucks of chicken that size in a curry before (impressed) the butter chicken resembles a chicken ruby from Dishoom so this has now saved me a 100 mile round trip to Edinburgh! Best takeaway in Bearsden by far.

I heard about the opening of Dum Indian kitchen from my Indian friend while I was in holiday in Egypt and how it's menu is completely different than the rest of the Indian Restaurants in Glasgow..so I decided to give it a try once I come back and I had my first order yesterday with Garlic Chilli Chicken with sagg + Chicken korma for my wife and I can confirm that the food was amazing, lovely and fresh and much better than even what we expected.we will definitely order again as there more dishes we would love to try.

Ordered by phone last week to try this new take away and was not disappointed. Was told i could pick up in 15’ but waited an additional 15’ . Teething problems methinks. Ordered a Lamb bhoona and Aloo Baingan… first class! Chapatis excellent. Pakora and Naan were not up to same standard but OK. Really hope they can maintain this high standard. I have no hesitation in recommmending Dum As someone with just over 50 year’s experience of Indian cuisine… I think that’s a high accolade! I ‘ll be back for sure to try some specialities . Really fabulous food. The saag is amazing, would highly recommend.

First time trying, bit of teething problems on website and delivery which I can understand and accept. But what I cant accept is that the garlic chilli chicken I ordered is got to be the most saltiest curry I have ever tasted( 30 years of eating indian food). I am always on for trying a new place and wishing them well, so please take on my review with the greatest respect Dum Indian Kitchen. I will give you a try again but maybe when more established. Good luck in your venture.
