Burnbrae - Pub & Grill in East Dunbartonshire

Lovely pub with good food, great busy atmosphere. Will definitely come back and explore the menu and good gluten free options.

Been here the last 3 nights as I am working in the area and am staying next door. Monday and Tuesday were spot on, lovely welcoming staff and decent food. However this evening I have been left very disappointed after being treat very rudely by an older woman with a grey bob (manager?). Whilst sat with a pint waiting for my friend to arrive I was approached and told very abruptly that I would need to move as she wanted to free up the table at which I was sat, I'm not quite sure why this would have been the case as the pub wasn't very busy and there were several other vacant tables. I explained that my friend had just arrived and that we would need some menus as we intended on ordering food, Said member of staff gave me a dirty look, disappeared and came back throwing a menu on the table and walking away again without a word. We ate 3 courses each and drank several drinks spending a significant amount of money yet the member of staff in question felt the need to scowl at me as if I'd murdered her pet budgie every time she walked past. I'm not quite sure what her problem was but we were both left confused and unhappy, I will definitely not be returning!

Friendly waiter. Nothing any problem. However woman at desk could be more welcoming. Very slow service due to being short staffed.

Staff were absolutely delightful and so acommdating. The food was delicious and very prompt, we weren't left waiting long between courses. Will definitely be back! Thank you to the lovely serving staff who made our Christmas special!

It was disappointing to find out our favourite menu was not available when the waitress said all the others would be available but came back saying our second choice had been just sold out as well. As if it was not enough to ruin a birthday, we were overcharged for our meal when we were incorrectly billed extra £18.95 for a complimentary bottle of wine that was supposed to be included with the purchase of two main dishes even after we had confirmed the promotion prior to ordering.

Booked in for lunch today. Myself and my granddaughter had Sunday lunch, roast beef was tough, my husband and daughter had trio of meats and roast beef was tough. Veg was hard too. Here regularly, but not so sure now. Which is sad.

Good old fashioned pub grub..... It does what it says on the run.....

Had the best birthday dinner for my motherinlaw with the family this evening. Food was excellent the staff were exceptional. 10 out of 10. Highly recommend.

Great place for a group to meet for a drink. Didn't have food on this occasion.

Unfortunately there were very limited options available, most of the group was vegetarian which further restricted the choices. This was our second visit for a birthday celebration, as our first was lovely, dampened the celebrations massively. Front of house staff member was very pleasant and apologetic.

Good food and frendly staff and its local to us great wine to pick from and good beer.

Great selection of food, prepared and served well. Great service. Will return soon.

We got treated like absolute garbage upon reception and people were fighting in the parking lot because the parking spaces were made for toy cars.

Great food at a good price. I'd suggest booking in advance as they do get very busy in the evenings.

Would like to give a shout out to Jo who looked after us last night, service was 1st class and she always goes over and above, she is a star and a credit to the Burnbrae

Im a happy man! Couldn't fault the food, service and surroundings. Brilliant! It's great nowadays to walk out of a place not thinking you have paid too much for not a lot. We paid a fair price for great quality food. I hope everyone else has the same experienxe.Well done staff at Burnbrae. Keep it up, we will be back.

Beers are decent. They have better food on the moon. Dont bother eating

Was OK, it was a pub which was in front of our hotel , so very convenient, standard pub , service was good, food was good , beer was good , nice selection a whisky, well it is Scotland.

Cosy and friendly,service excellent and food prices about right,perfect for a family sunday lunch.

The restaurant atmosphere was great with cozy lounge but food were really awful and pricey for what you get. We order grill salmon and char chicken and really were without any flavour it looks like they just sliced and cooked with nothing to add.

Really poor service. Staff not interested. Barman rude after making a mistake with our bill. Asked manager in if she thought that was acceptable and was ignored.

Great wee Pub for meeting friends for drinks and for food. Nice atmosphere , nice surroundings and friendly bar staff. Great selection of Brewed ales , selection of household beers and great choice of Malt Whiskey's

Came over from Ireland to see our grandchildren. Had lunch today and found the food great and the service was second to none from a lovely young girl called Katie. Will definitely be back next time we are in Glasgow.

I was a bit disappointed in the food, although it was lovely, it wasn't anything special for the money.

It's always rammed when I visit on weekends, so.always better to book in advance, as busy as it was food was presented very quickly

Absolutely amazing service, you wanted for nothing. Amazing staff and so welcoming they constantly catered for, cared for and made to feel important. Absolutely fantastic... they made it easier for me to be away from my family. Really kind pub/people 😌

Usual high standard we've come to expect at the Burnbrae. Food was delicious, good sized portions and cooked very well! Nothing to complain about at all!

The staff are what makes this place. All very friendly and welcoming. I even witnessed a staff member take a gentleman through a detailed explanation of variety of lagers available. There are plenty of food options and I opted for the steak ciabatta. The first half was really good but the second half of it was fatty and not really edible. The beef dripping is amazing and a must to try. Like with most GKs it does need a lil updating and deep cleaning. Plenty of parking spaces available round the back and a lovely terrace to sit out on - although only views of the car park and hotel behind!

I have frequently visited the Burnbrae restaurant and am a regular customer. Today I ordered Haddock and while the quality was good the portion of fish was very disappointing. On speaking to my waitres she said she would inform the manager and the chief. When paying the bill I was again asked about the quality of the meal and after informing her of the issue was again told the manager and chief would be informed however niether the manager or chief appeared to discuss the issues. This restaurant has increased the price of this item by 40% over a short period of time and are now reducing portion sizes. I don't object to the price but the dish I received is poor value for money

Living in Yorkshire now but pop in 4 times a year when visiting. Great pub, great food, great atmosphere. Special mention for Katie, she looked after us wonderfully, so friendly and always a cheery smile. Can't wait for my next visit.

Fantastic very friendly and efficient service.

Busy little place, very convenient for the Premier Inn next door where we were staying, hadn’t booked but aged to squeeze us in at peak time on a Friday. Noticed a few people complain about how long their food was taking but we got ours in a reasonable time. Minus a few points on the food because nothing identifiable on menu that was Gluten Free and waiter couldn’t help either…

Visited tonight for the Thursday grill night, advertised that if you order 2 dishes from the grill menu you receive a complimentary bottle of wine , we ordered a text next burger & chicken skewers from grill menu, but when we asked for bottle of wine we were informed that a burger is not on the grill menu? Which menu very clearly stated it was? Very misleading & disappointing, other than that food & service was good

Our food was decent, but the restaurant felt more like a chain rather than a pub. Service was excellent!

Saturday 15th of July and I’ve not been on my summer holiday yet. So it must be time for the Burnbrae to promote their Festive menu 🎅 🙄

Good food service slow but not bad

Waitress was brilliant. It was packed but she still found us a table. Really took the time to understand how I wanted my steak cooked. Great service. Only disappointment was we couldn't add a tip on our card to thank the awesome waitress. Please allow tips Greene King!!

We come here when we can’t be bothered to cool! The food is decent enough but it’s a nice wee pub with a good selection of drinks and beers. Kerry, who served us most recently, is fab!

Cracking wee spur of the moment lunch, just my wife and I, girl serving couldn't have been nicer, lunch was lovely, will be back in the near future for sure

Manager did not allow the kids to have a mocktail sent waitress over to say instead of explaining himself very unprofessional. 0.5/10

Macaroni portion for a main meal poor

Had the gravy pie..... They called it steak pie but there was no steak. Not one bit. Then told we just heat the pie up they aren't made here. All in all terrible. Won't be back again. Poor, rubbish, atrocious, any other words that awful.

Delicious food and amazing service.

When we arrived they couldn’t find our booking but we got a table right away. Very pleasant waitress took our drinks order and took our food order shortly afterwards. The starter I chose was the black pudding fritters and they were very tasty. I ordered Fish & Chips for main course and was looking forward to it. When it did eventually arrive (quite a delay between starter dishes being cleared away and mains arriving) it looked great albeit I got mushy peas after having ordered garden peas. Looks however can be deceiving and the fish was very dry as were the chips, I wonder if they had been sitting on the plates for sometime being kept hot as the chips were certainly very dark looking as well. The others in our group of 7 were quite happy with their food apart from the steak pie crust being very hard but they all enjoyed their meals. I will try again soon to see if it hopefully was a one of,

Was very dark I had to use my torch on my phone to read menu, food came quite swiftly , I did ask server if Steak pie was same as the rest of the food chain , to what she said she wasn't sure , it came and was nice to look at but pastry was very heavy and not much filling in pie it's self, there was too much pastry , my mother in law said same , Not sure if we would return. Server was great

Good menu our group had vegetarians, vegans and a celiac. There was a good range on the menu which is clearly marked and there is a gluten free menu with a gr8 range. We got good friendly service

I recently visited this restaurant for lunch on the weekend and it was a pleasant experience. One of the highlights of this place is the ample parking space available, making it a great option for families. They also have a kids menu, which is an added bonus. Although the taste of the food was just average, I still recommend this restaurant as a great option for a weekend lunch with the little ones.

Time for it to be redecorated and brightened up, Always feels very dark inside, if the lighting was better it might feel fresher.

Disappointed, I know I am not in Texas (and yes I have been there), this was the smallest T-Bone steak I have ever ever had, 3 mini cherry tomatoes and half a mushroom, added to the insult.... When I mentioned to them that I was disappointed, I merely got a 'Oh dear'. Been coming here for years, sadly this will be the last time for a steak for me!

I quite enjoyed this establishment, had the mixed grill, washed down with an alcohol free peroni, the chicken breast was a tad dry and they could have used a bit more expensive sausages but the friendly and happy service from Lauren and really clean and well maintained establishment still pushes it to a 5 star, prices were reasonable too, would definitely go back 👍

Waited at the entrance to be seated for too long, nobody came even though I announced myself, not good, left.

Good surroundings and food for group of 4 friends. Server Lisa was properly attentive and quick but also held back when we obviously wanted to chat before ordering.

If you enjoy a steak please avoid this restauraunt. They either serve it to you almost raw when you ask for medium or completely cremated, no in-between.They also serve you some freezer burnt chips on the side and call them "seasoned". Really disappointed, would have expected far better from a Wetherspoons for a fraction of the price.

Lovely clean pub with lots of atmosphere. Including a roaring fire! The staff are very friendly and the food is exceptional. It was also served very quickly. I would highly recommend. We visited on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and it was busy all nights so would advise to book.

Was my first time here, staff were attentive. Food was nice, had the roast and pigs in blankets. I found the pigs in blankets very oily, but this could have just been me as partner liked them. Had the sticky toffee pudding ( don't order this after a night out, could really taste the alcohol) this is one I'll need to go try again. The piece of shortbread given with my coffee was a really nice touch. We will definitely be back. We went back 6 days later with my stepdaughter and again staff were great Lisa took time out to chat to us, and food was great, even ate the pudding I couldn't last time, think this is going to be our go to place for food from now on.

We went for lunch for my son's birthday. Two of us ordered the steak pie and the pastry was very soggy, disappointed as thought it may be puff pastry, don't mind but expected the pastry to be more crispy. We brought this to the attention of the waitress and was told that they would pass on to the kitchen. Actually looked like it was microwaved. The chips were not seasoned either.

Fantastic demonstration of customer service from the Assistant Manager, Des who professionally, courteously and appreciatively corrected a small error. We are regular customers eating here once a week and clearly very much enjoy the food, service and comfortable surroundings. We never caught the name of our tall , young male, blonde haired waiter on Sunday evening and he was excellent in delivery of customer service also.

Used to love this place and go all the time but now it's not dog friendly hardly ever get to go 😔 Updated: why has the policy changed? Unfortunately with glasgow weather and winter, it's not enjoyable to sit outside.

Pub a bit tired could do with a good makeover. Pub was empty at 2pm but we were squeezed into a small corner table for 2 when other tables available. Ordered New York deli baguettes however had to change as no pastrami.Wife ordered feta cheese baguette one but no feta cheese and had to pick another one. Ordered a side of chips which amounted to about 4 actual so called chipswith some bits thrown in.Cheek to charge £1.29 for that. When billed they charged me for the original New York deli order which I didn't receive (only got a cheese one. All in all wont be going back.

Lovely cosy pub with a friendly & relaxed atmosphere. Visited here quite a few times both for food and drinks. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. Very family friendly and always made to feel at home. Great selection of Ales and nice food, couldn't ask for more. Well worth a visit.
