Nice restaurant serving (in general) really good Thai food. The papaya salad was fresh, spicy and authentic, and I'd definitely have it again. However, the soft shell crab was a disaster! Deep fried in batter? I think not! It didn't taste of crab at all, and was chewy, tasted more like over-cooked fish. In Thailand this was the wife's all time favourite dish, but at Sabai Sabai, no.

If you’re looking for authentic Malaysian food, this place falls below expectations. As a Malaysian, I’ve tried several spots in Birmingham and decided to give this one a go, given its 4.2 rating and proximity to my hotel before my flight. I started with teh tarik, which lacked the signature creaminess (tak de rasa lemak) and wasn’t properly “tarik” at all. The nasi lemak was served with pickled vegetables.. if it had been acar, I could understand a Nyonya-style twist, but this just felt off. The sambal also didn’t have the authentic Malaysian taste. Given the restaurant’s name, “Malaysian Delight,” it felt a bit misleading. I also tried the Char Kuey Teow, which was disappointing “no wok hei, no proper char”. Overall, not the Malaysian meal I was hoping for before heading back.

My best friend got two tickets for us to go to a christmas 90s bottomless brunch (supposedly by 'The Brunch Club' it definitely wasn't, I feel like that's got to be some copyright infringement?!) The moment we got there I knew it was going to be crap. Not one Christmas decoration in sight. Not even a basic Christmas tree. The only options for bottomless drinks were prosecco, mimosas (so prosecco and juice) or rum punch (rum and juice). Awful choice of drinks, left you dead gassy or sickly !! The "Breakfast burger" was a burger that had clearly been sat under a hot plate for ages with a luke warm fried egg chucked in and 6 chips on the side. Service was crap. Music and singers were alright. Then 30 mins before it ends (bare in mind the tickets said 2 hours and the menu said 1!!) They "run out" of booze, don't offer any substitutes when though there is plenty behind the bar. To summarise DONT GO HERE ! Brunch tickets were £45 each !!! I'm just glad someone else paid for ours otherwise I'd be pushing for a refund !!

WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY! The worst buffet I’ve ever been to. Came to Birmingham for Chinese new year. Googled Chinese buffet restaurants and came across this place. Upon entering the restaurant is was really busy and we had to wait around 30 minutes which I thought was a good sign and that you know the food wont be just sat under a heat lamp due to how busy the place was. We were charged £22.99 each for lunchtime. The food just didn’t look appetising. The utensil handles were sticky. The food didn’t taste that great either. The teppanyaki bar cooked the food soo salty. The deserts were disappointing. Upon leaving we decided to use the restroom and OH MY GOD I’ve never seen a restaurant restroom so disgusting. If I had of used it before eating I would have wanted to stay. Safe to say we won’t be returning.

I was served by Karhys who was very kind and with great professionalism she managed my need to eat gluten-free. There is a separate menu entirely gluten-free with an interesting choice of appetizers, main courses and desserts, in the gluten-free main courses unfortunately for now there is only one vegan option; the raisukaree with tofu is really very good!
