Dil Bar Birmingham Restaurant closed 962185585 A booking was made and confirmed via Dojo and via email from the restaurant on 17th June 2024 for a table of 8 on Friday 26th July 2024 at 8pm - On arrival in Birmingham I phoned to reconfirm the booking and found the restaurant was closed for refurbishment - the gentleman on the phone stated you cant have a booking we are closed. When I said that I had a confirmation the phone was put down Could someone not have called us to tell us they were closed so we could find an alternative venue which is not easy for 8 people on a Friday evening in Birmingham Appalling customer service . On future trips to Birmingham was shall avoid this restaurant . Beware if making a booking

Out for a wander on a Monday evening came across the Dil Bar on Board Street in Birmingham, the surroundings were very nice. We were shown to our table ordered had to wait a little for each course as everything is cooked to order. Food was second 5o none we have ever tasted. Would recommend to everyone travelling to the city centre. So good we went back for our 36th anniversary.

Amazing service staff were polite and very attentive. Food was spot on and presented beautifully. Highly recommend.

All staff very welcoming, polite and attentive right from outside of the restaurant to the end of service. Lemon ice water boufjt over as soon as walking in. Nothing too much trouble. Food fantastic. Excellent location. Restaurant clean and nicely decorated. Calm atmosphere and relaxing music. Lots of choice of food and drinks on menu.

Made welcome as soon as we arrived by the owner . Waitress was very attentive and professional . Food was outstanding would strongly recommend you will not be disappointed. Well done to the owner for amazing restaurant .

Food was Great. Our Experience was great until we were given the bill. The Check was placed on our table and basically they just wanted our card to process it (without us looking over the check which is what most trustworthy people would do). However being a vigilant person I checked over the bill and noticed that an optional 10% service charge was added. I simply asked the question as to why this was added to which I was advised ‘that’s what we do in the Birmingham’. Historically we traditionally tip for good service which we were keen to do. To try and cheekily add a charge without us knowing was being very deceptive and disrespectful. When I questioned this service charge one of the waitresses then said ‘well they had water so we’re going to have to charge them for water’ even though we had only consumed 3 glasses of tap water along with our beverages which we had ‘purchased’. Would not return with so many other wonderful restaurants are available

This Dil bar spot was fantastic one of the best finest cuisines I have been to yet. The staff were very friendly, kind and easy-going. Top service and etiquette all of the way ! My host , the beautiful and excellent Pam was terrific couldn’t ask for any better service and attitude. I would highly recommend this exquisite restaurant to anyone visiting Birmingham . The very best of Broadstreet and really stands out from the rest !

Terrible food and service, almost empty on a Saturday night which should have been all the warning needed. Certain some of the food was from a jar. Starters were fine. Every customer in the place had some kind of issue. Cheeky just to add 10% service charge onto our bill too! I think they know its awful as the staff are all sheepish. pre-booked the restaurant for my sons 18th birthday celebration for 25 family members attending. The waiter came to take all our orders for starters and main meal, which he wrote down. I checked with waiter how long will it take for the mains to come out he said half hour for all the guests. I was surprised and jokingly said are you sure it's not going to be an hour or so as its a large group, he said no only half hour. The starters came out fine, no problems at all, everyone was fine. The main meal service was an absolute disaster.. only half of the main food came out for half of the guests. The half of the food which came out didnt come with any naan breads which was ordered, waited another hour for naan breads to come out, which wasnt the correct order anyway but took it as the mains were already cold by that time. The other half of the guests who had ordered, only there naan breads came out without the main meals then had to wait for another hour or so for the main meals to come out by that time the naan bread were already cold, also had to cancel 1 of the main order as it took over an 1.5hours and also one of the main dishes had undercooked meat. I spoke the manager about the poor service all she did was blame the waiter who took the order,, apparantly the waiter got his coat and left midway of our meal and left them in the lurch. No one came out to speak to us about the whole shambles of the service and no one came out to check what was going on. we was just left to it. Very diappointing and very poor service from management is an underating comment!! Always check the bill at the end as it had some orders on there which was incorrect and charging us for extra order which we did not get. Avoid this place for large celebrations as they cannot cope with large parties

I attended for a takeaway. I asked for a lamb curry with lots of gravy, i was given mushed up lamb with lots of onion and turka. The dessert was a single gulab jamen. drinks branded as punjabi are branded drinks such as ciroc and gordans but charged at a premium. Classed as a punjabi owned restaurant it is not. I joked about one of the punjabi drinks and the label i did not enjoy which they agreed too yet it was the branded drink i drank as there own label. Gives a bad reputation to true Punjabis, i struggled to speak in flaunt punjabi with one of the owners.

Great service attentive staff, food quality was excellent, reasonably priced personally loved the rogan josh, and peshwari nan I would recommend this restaurant.

Definitely not what the name may suggest to the smuttiest/child minded person. Not me!!! One of the tastiest Indian meals I’ve ever had. Food great, cocktails great, atmosphere great, staff great. Will recommend to mates. Thank you.

Came back to Brum after 40 years just for a look to see - it's all changed - popped into the Dil Bar - on a Saturday night on Broad Street - premises were very clean, tidy, and well presented, staff was pleasant, friendly and attentive - but not too like some places. Service was prompt but you didn't feel rushed. Now the food - was of excellent quality, very tasty, full of flavor, well presented, and just like the curries I used to get before moving away. 100% Recommended. Shame I was only here for one night as I would have gone back.
