Located on Birmingham’s bustling Broad Street, Barajee Indian Restaurant offers a blend of classical Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine in a charming, canal-side setting. I had a table at the window,so i had a great view.During my visit, I enjoyed the Chicken Tandoori and Chicken Biryani. The ambience at Barajee is warm and elegant, with a relaxing view of the canals adding to the experience. The staff were attentive and professional, enhancing the overall dining experience. Overall, Barajee is a reputable choice for Indian dining in Birmingham, blending tradition with modern dining comfort.

We chose Barajee because of it's location. It is found on Broad Street, just a 6 minutes walk from the Utilitia Arena. A lovely scenic walk from the car park to the restaurant. We hadn't booked but were provided with a table promptly on arrival. The variety of food was good and the atmosphere reminded me of what I would call your 'proper old curry house'. The environment was clean and welcoming, overlooking the canal. Service was prompt and efficent, food was plentiful, of excellent quality and great value for money. Waiting staff were attentive, ensuring we had drinks when we needed and even walking us round to find the bathrooms. Would highy recommend, we shall look forward to eating here again!!

We had very bad experience on this location because firstly the manager who has no manners with customer how he has to be pretending the customer.Even the store normally closed at 12 and we went there around 11 in a night and we ordered the food. After waiting almost half and hour we Got the food. We didn’t raised the any issue. After all our half dinner done we want to eat more items with bunch of people who are more starving the manager said we couldn’t take it up your order and it was sure the time was 11:36. Said rudly we closed . After when we spoke the manager who has no manners to talk with customer he was very rude and disrespectful guy. I would said to the other people who’s are thinking to eat food in this restaurant please don’t go ahead use other option. Thanks, Parth

Without a doubt the worst Indian restaurant I have ever been to. What can I say about this place. Firstly they didn't have basic items that were on the menu. We ordered fish Masala starters they said there's no fish but the waiter was very rude and abrupt. One of our party ordered papadoms. They charged £3 for 2 sorry excuse of a papadom but the apparent mint sauce was a bright nuclear yellow colour the mango chutney was just vinegar and the pickle was drenched in oil. The mix starter was the worst most rubbery sorry excuse for a tiny piece of chicken and lamb and a seekh kebab which was clearly cut in half and defrosted. My main course was lamb balti which was literally just 4 pieces of boiled lamb in the blandest sauce. Avoid at all costs.

My husband and I came to Birmingham to see a show. We were going to get a burrito down the street but they were closed so we thought we would have a look at their menu. As we were looking a couple came out and told us we had to go in, said we would not regret it (the husband said that he was neither here nor there with indian but that he loved it). We thought give it a try. My husband loves indian so I thought I would make him happy and give it a try. I'm so glad I did. It was amazing, the best I have ever had. We tried one of their executive banquets. I had no idea what the dishes were but I thought give it a try and boy am I glad I did. The flavours were out of this world. The staff were very accommodating. My husband has a funny thing about lamb (he had some as pets) and they were happy to change it to chicken. The staff on tonight 28/04/24 were amazing. The wait time was nothing. They were so friendly. We will be back in Birmingham in a few weeks time and for sure be back. If you love indian or even if you don't you have to go to this place. We were in the area for the night and decided we would like an Indian before watching Peter Kay at the arena, we found this place online and also it was recommended by the pub opposite we were drinking in, we couldn’t book so we walked in and was given a table straight away with a lovely view. Food was amazing and best curries me and my husband had had in a long time, full of flavour and the starters and poppadoms all went down a treat. One tiny issue was that we were charged for the dips that come with the poppadoms and this wasn’t advised till the bill. We were also over charged for something extra, but this was easily removed with no hassle. The service was ok and plenty of the guys on hand to ask for help or something more. The restaurant looks a bit tired and could do with a re paint etc especially the toilets. £78 for 2 courses and extras plus a drink each which we were happy with as the food was excellent, we enjoyed our time here and would re visit if in the area again.

Don't know what happened tonight.. Had poppadoms as starters, can't believe they charged separate for dips( most restaurants give you them). Would have kept them on the table aswell to have with main course, but they just whipped them away. Waited 45 mins after poppadoms for them to bring out main course. When it finally arrived was only luke warm. Didnt like to moan or make a fuss as we were all starving we didn't complain. Wish we had, food as I said was luke warm and very Bland. We had 3 very different meals, yet on tasting each others, all tasted similar. What a Joke. Can't believe all the good reviews, what food do you others Usually eat. Now the nasty part, spent most of the night on n off the Loo. Called my friends this morning, they had same problem, except one off them, who wasn't as bad but he only ate about half. Think I've been more than fair with the stars I've left them.

The Jalfrezi and bhajis were very good, the bread was great but could have done with some ghee or melted butter with the garlic which was diced on top. The waiters and service were good and there’s a nice view over the canal if you’re lucky enough to get the right table. It came to around £30, which I think was good value.

While visiting Birmingham from Canada in late May, we dined at this delightful Indian restaurant on Broad street (across from Brindley Place and overlooking the canal on both sides from an upstairs indoor setting. We had previously dined here twice six years ago and it was on our list to visit this year. Our experience was absolutely wonderful. Our waiter, MJ, was splendid and so welcoming, friendly and accommodating (thanks so much MJ for your great service.....you're definitely an asset to Burajee! ). We were seated by a window overlooking the canal and Gas Street Basin, with the Mailbox in the distance. We ordered Onion Bhaji, Vegetable Rezala, Chicken Tikka Masala, plain rice, Garlic Naan and water. Everything was so tasty and enjoyable. The atmosphere is very comfortable and relaxing. Prices were reasonable as always. I went early, I know it's early but place was clean, staff seemed a little suprise I was early but I was tired and hungry after lots of travel. Sat at a seat by the window with lovely view of the area. Poppadoms were good, onion salad had carrot in it which added a nice sweet crunchiness to it, healthy portions of sauces, good so far. Biryani was good, hot, cooked and good size. Veg curry however was a little tasteless and watery, came in what looked like a little bowl but more in there than it looks, just a shame it wasn't the same quality as the biryani itself. Pishwari naan was tasty but soggy bum and thin so lost most of the contents onto the plate, the naan itself was a bit flowery and hard to get a feel for the overall taste as most of the contents fell out. Over all though good meal, would I go again, if I fancied a curry and in the area, yes, would I make an effort to go there, probably not. Oh, and don't be scared, it's up some stairs so if your expecting a ground level restaurant, it isn't, didn't see disabled access but then I wasn't specifically looking.

Our wedding anniversary , we have been here before and standards remain high . Food , drink , service , staff all good . Food was tasty fair portion for a fair price , service was very good , they also had 3/4 people on delivering take away,s must be doing some thing right . Parking is on the road or central reservation . we have no trouble in recommending The Curry Leaf .

My best friend got two tickets for us to go to a christmas 90s bottomless brunch (supposedly by 'The Brunch Club' it definitely wasn't, I feel like that's got to be some copyright infringement?!) The moment we got there I knew it was going to be crap. Not one Christmas decoration in sight. Not even a basic Christmas tree. The only options for bottomless drinks were prosecco, mimosas (so prosecco and juice) or rum punch (rum and juice). Awful choice of drinks, left you dead gassy or sickly !! The "Breakfast burger" was a burger that had clearly been sat under a hot plate for ages with a luke warm fried egg chucked in and 6 chips on the side. Service was crap. Music and singers were alright. Then 30 mins before it ends (bare in mind the tickets said 2 hours and the menu said 1!!) They "run out" of booze, don't offer any substitutes when though there is plenty behind the bar. To summarise DONT GO HERE ! Brunch tickets were £45 each !!! I'm just glad someone else paid for ours otherwise I'd be pushing for a refund !!

Finding hair in your food is already unpleasant, but the manager’s cold attitude makes it even worse. It’s always disappointing when a restaurant doesn’t handle issues like that properly. If the manager was cold and even tried to shift the blame onto you, they didn’t take responsibility or make an effort to resolve the situation. You deserve to be treated with respect, especially when you’re giving feedback about an issue it’s so disheartening when something like that ruins what should have been a positive experience, especially when you traveled from another city. When you make the effort to visit a place, especially a restaurant, you expect to be treated with respect, and it’s frustrating when that doesn’t happen. Owners if u reading this plz take action otherwise soon or later u ll be close down
