Beautiful restaurant i got proposed here it was beautiful, great service the savers were brilliant, helpful and friendly , the food was amazing, i highly recommend this restaurant everything was a 10/10 i forgot the guy’s name who served us but he was brilliant we even got a bottle of champagne from the manager which was nice 😊

Best Thai Restaurant by a country mile. First time. 2 gents running the dining floor worked in perfect harmony. Ordered 6 small plates and King prawns salad. Every single morsal was just perfect. Highest standard for presentation. If you haven't tried this restaurant you are truly missing out.

Chaophraya is such a lovely Thai restaurant, all of the staff are so friendly warm and inviting. I love the atmosphere, the food is delicious! I’ve had lunch and dined in during the evening, they never disappoint, definitely in my top 10!

Great wait staff, very attentive and helpful. Really enjoyed the pad ka prao with belly pork, having to pay extra for the rice kinda sucks but it is yummers when mixed together. Spring rolls a bit expensive for what you get, but nice.

Pop is a fantastic member of your team—very nice, polite, and friendly. I couldn’t decide which cocktail to have, so he kindly offered me one for free, which was amazing because you don’t often get that kind of service elsewhere. The decoration of the place was absolutely beautiful, and the atmosphere was wonderful. The presentation of the food was also great, and the drinks and cocktails were fantastic—I ended up having three! I will definitely be coming back again. The food and staff are all amazing, and next time, I think I’d like to sit outside in one of the globes.

Great place. Nice vibe. Food was really good -- though I probably had them over-spice it. Would have been nice if rice was included, rather than a 5GBP up-charge. Tom Yum soup was amazing. Could eat it all day.

First time here and I didn't disappoint, I have veggie taco and crispy vegan chicken with cashew nuts both were very good. The restaurant is next to the bull ring which is great for shopping.

Great food and excellent service, i was by myself today and happen to have food here, the thai guy with specs and the guy with blonde hair and really took care of me and went above and beyond, this not the first time I dined in chaopraya I have been here couple of times and they food and service never disappoints.

I enjoyed a lovely birthday celebration with family at this modern and nicely decorated restaurant serving some delicious Thai food with a great selection to suit all tastes and dietary requirements. The staff were very attentive, welcoming, and efficient, and went the extra mile with a lovely birthday surprise, which was very thoughtful of them! We loved the ambience and atmosphere of the place and how relaxed we all were, including the children. Everyone was made to feel very welcome, which was wonderful! The food was excellent for the price, which we found to be very affordable considering the location just outside the Bull Ring. A great time was had by all and we will certainly be back! Well worth every penny! We were having so much fun, we forgot to take photographs of the food before diving in! Managed one photograph of a delicious dessert!

We had an unplanned dinner, staffs are very welcoming and helpful, especially to James and Viking. Food was great, ambiance is perfect. Overall, had a great experience. Definitely will come back here.

Went here on the last Saturday of November for my sisters birthday and had one of the outdoor pods for our family of 8. We could hook our phone up to the Bluetooth and were able to sing and dance all evening to celebrate. The food was so quick to come out and I was so suprised with the quality and presentation, as this was my first visit. I had the ribs for starter, a few of us did actually and we all loved them, so highly recommend those. For main, I had the rice dish served in the pineapple which was 7/10. Our server, Alanyah, was attentive, friendly and patient - they were amazing and really made the experience for us. The team even came to sing happy birthday at the end. As ex-hospitality myself, I probably pay more attention to detail than the average customer and this was a truly great experience.

Great choice of food and fantastic service.

I have no idea why people rate it so high. Had a seafood udon, literally had 1 pc of scallop and 2 pcs of prawn and muscles. It was more of a vegetable udon with seafood flavor. The taste was nice, but that wasn't seafood udon.

Food portions were absolutely tiny and way too overpriced, only five pieces of beef and some rice, not worth the money at all.

The best service and the best food. Love love love this restaurant. Me and my boyfriend phoned last minute, as this is one of my favourite places we decided to go to dinner here for our anniversary due to unexpected change in our previous booking. I was over the moon to find out they had ensured we got a castle view and gave us a glass of complimentary Prosecco :) Worth the money!

James is truly a star. Warm welcome so friendly and attentive. Amazing service knowledgeable of the menu and gave some good suggestions on food to have and as always delicious food.

Despite the warm welcome, impressive decor and tempting menu, the meal itself was a disappointment. We ordered a sharing plate starter which included tempura prawns. Unfortunately the batter was stodgy and detracted from the delicious prawn. There was a minced pork taco which was billed as being spicy but tasted as if it had been cooked in tomato ketchup rather than chili. My Tom yum soup was also a disappointment, being sweet with a ketchup taste and not the normal spicy flavour I was hoping for. My partner ordered stir fry chicken and cashews and was surprised when what looked like chicken nuggets came garnished with nuts. I know that my opinion seems counter to the majority of reviews but perhaps my experience of Thai food is based on having spent time in Thailand .

I would rate minus a 1000. Food did not come after an hour and got told they lost the ticket order. They did not tell us this had happened and kept us in the dark. We left as it would take some more time before they processed our order. We left with nothing to eat! Worse service ever. Go if you have time to waste

Fuimos a CHAOPHRAYA antes de ir al Hipódromo de Birmingham a ver El Cascanueces. Adam estaba muy atento y nuestras bebidas y comida llegaron rápidamente, pero no nos sentimos apresurados y tuvimos tiempo para una buena conversación y para elegir qué espectáculos queríamos reservar para 2025 antes de pagar nuestra cuenta. Teníamos una botella de Chenin Blanc que estaba perfectamente refrigerado y agua del grifo. Compartimos una porción de costillas de repuesto que eran magníficas y tenían una porción de pollo en salsa verde que estaba perfectamente especiado y compartimos una porción de arroz jazmín y nos sentimos cómodamente repleto. Gracias a los chefs y a Adam por hacer de ella una experiencia memorable.

My friend and I enjoyed a lovely late lunch here on a busy Saturday at the end of November. We were able to go into one of the outside 'igloos' and appreciated being given a speaker through which we could play our own music, a heater which kept us toasty, and a call button that gave us an easy link to the waiting staff who were friendly, helpful and attentive. We enjoyed all the food (Chaophraya sharing platter, Khanom jeep, Pad Thai and a firey fried rice dish) and a couple of cocktails - the Ring of Fire (definitely one to have at night so that you can see the flame when they ignite it!) and Thailand were delicious. The staff really were excellent and we had a great time.

The staff was absolutely amazing,very professional and helpful and I've had the best Matcha I've ever had.

We had made a reservation for dinner on Friday night, but the restaurant was not full. We were seated by the window and served by a friendly and attentive waitress. We appreciated the peaceful ambiance, as the restaurant was not noisy. We ordered a mango mocktail, papaya salad, prawn tom yum, chicken green curry, and crispy pork belly with Thai basil. The portions were slightly smaller than expected, but they were just right for us since we had already had tea from another location. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.

Had a fantastic time at Chaophraya in Birmingham last night! I was there with my girlfriend for an early birthday celebration, and it exceeded all expectations. We opted for the set vegan menu, which was absolutely incredible, flavourful, fresh, and beautifully presented. I had the pleasure of meeting Bas Abdul through networking, and he kindly mentioned that the team would take great care of us. They certainly did! The dome experience he arranged for us was unforgettable and definitely worth it. The service was outstanding, and a special mention to Ant, our waitress, who made the evening even more enjoyable. If you're in Birmingham and looking for delicious Thai food with fantastic vegan options, I highly recommend Chaophraya

I recently completed a cooking class here (virgin experience voucher) which was super informative and fun. The food we cooked was pretty basic (my only criticism!) But catered for all. Definetly had lots to take back home and new the staff member explaining everything was really informative. The chef also (I forget her name, masters degree!) Was also very informative and patient with us all. Maybe include some ice breakers next time or ask about people's past experiences with cooking or travel to get the groups talking but it was a bit of a tough crowd!

Food was not fresh. The chicken in the thai green curry was chewy and rubbery as it was probably pre cooked the day before and added to the sauce on order. Mains cost nearly £20 and don't include rice. Service was a bit annoying at times.

Estaba muy sorprendido de lo buena que era la comida y el servicio en este restaurante. Un montón de elección y como estábamos cenando a la hora del almuerzo tenía el bono de menú especial a la hora del almuerzo. La comida era excelente, el servicio excelente y solo puedo decir que fue una de las mejores comidas tailandesas que hemos comido. Adam era nuestro servidor que era a la vez conocedor y eficiente con todo. El restaurante estaba muy limpio, ambiente encantador y buena comida a un precio razonable, lo recomendaría encarecidamente.

La comida era buena en sabor. Me gusta el curry con pollo y el rollito de primavera. Quizá por la hora del almuerzo, los camareros estaban muy ocupados, y por cierto, pusieron el 10% de IVA en mi cheque. En general, sigue siendo un buen lugar para comer con amigos

Came here with family for my birthday. Food was beautiful and one of the best Thai places I've ever been to! I didn't mention it was my birthday, but I think the staff saw my birthday gift bags and they bought me a dessert out and sang happy birthday which was so kind of them and they were so lovely throughout the service. Will definitely return!

Great service from staff - particularly Joel. Excellent food. We had between us: Chao platter, slow cook belly pork curry, pad thai chicken and steamed jasmine rice. Ambience also, is very good. The pad thai, was so good I ordered a takeaway of this also... see photo We will definitely return.

Great location but not very cosy inside and if you are celebrating a special occasion like birthday or anniversary DO NOT expect any special treatment. We went for my wife’s birthday and despite stating this in the remarks during booking the did not acknowledge when we arrived, I even mentioned it to the manager on arrival but clearly they are not interested. So if just going for food fine, it is good quality and service fine just don’t expect anything special.

The restaurant has great food and a fun menu, with staples like pad Thai but also special items like the Thai tacos (which were delicious!). The restaurant is beautiful and staff are super friendly. Overall a great place for a date night!

Really enjoyed my lunch here. Lunchtime special of 3 courses for £25. Superb value. I had the salt and pepper chicken to start, followed by the Thai green curry. Both were delicious. Service was slick. Pleasant surroundings. Will happily eat there again.

The kids menu could do with offering chips as a side We had a couple of drinks they were delicious and looked fantastic. The desserts were also very good I will attach pictures with my review

So, I met my cousin here for a belated birthday meal last Friday. The waiter was great and even gave us a full rundown of the menu and offered some recommendations for food and drinks, which were spot on. However, the only thing that let this restaurant down was the fact that our food came out lukewarm, so it went cold before I could even finish eating it.

Evening all TOH and me were in Birmingham yesterday (Thursday) and were peckish after our canal trip. We headed back to The Bullring. Ok. Quite a few chain places. Hunger drove us to Chaophraya. Which was lucky... We liked the look of the two course menu for £20. A starter (tapa?) and a main. TOH chose as her first course. MIANG KHAM. Ancient Thai Snack Sweet and savoury toasted coconut and peanut wrapped in pickled grape leaves. She loved it. Especially the coconut and peanuts. I chose as my first course. Alas no picture. Doh... MOO GROB. Crispy Belly Pork Based on a classic dish from the Trang region of southern Thailand. Roasted Pork and crispy belly pork coated in our signature sweet soy sauce. Quite fatty which is ok and very crispy which is good too. For her mainmy partner chose. PAD PRE WAAN GAI. Sweet and sour crispy chicken. Stir fry with peppers, onions, tomatoes and pineapple, topped with pomegranate seeds and spring onions. With jasmine rice. Again. She loved the crispy chicken and the stir fry mix of vegetables. I chose a fairly obvious main. GAENG KEOW WAN. Thai Green. Chicken with courgette, sugar snap peas, Thai basil and chilli. With jasmine rice It had three chillis on the menu. So forewarned is forearmed. It was very hot (as expected) but packed a complex deep flavour. An excellent lunch. Just what we wanted. Attentive wait staff. Pint of Singha for me and a mocktail for my partner.

Attended with a group for a work social meal. I was disappointed as I felt it was not an inclusive environment for all. I asked management if I can swap the alcoholic drink that comes with the set menu to a non-alcoholic / cheaper alternative as I do not drink alcohol. I was disappointed by the rudeness / lack of politeness in the response. Instead of explaining things I got a very blunt and hostile response. Overall , I didn’t think the hospitality/service was up to standard. The staff weren’t really helpful with explaining the menus and dietary requirements.

I really enjoyed celebrating my birthday here! We sat in the private dome and had a bottomless brunch. We were given speakers to play our own music and were also given a call bell, so that we could alert the staff if we needed anything. The food was amazing! Delicious and I left feeling satisfied. Our waiter Tai was very attentive, and sang happy birthday which I appreciated! I was also given a birthday cake free of charge. I definitely feel like this restaurant is very underrated. 10/10😍

Stunning Thai lunch for family of 6. Simply delicious and lovely staff, great location. I had the sharing starter, red chicken curry, Siam Smile (Passionfruit Martini) and the mango sticky rice, it was just superb. Would thoroughly recommend!

We hosted a corporate cooking class for 29 people at Chaophraya. We opted for the package of dumplings for starter and a massam curry for main. It was really well set up for us when we arrived and the cookery class was easy to follow. The cookery package was very good value for money as it included a welcome drink, starter and main (with sides of rice and prawn crackers). Would highly recommend this as an experience.

Had an amazing evening here with my partner the food was so good and the service amazing I would point out it's not cheap it's expensive but it's fine dining Thai style there is also a service charge that will be added to your overall bill at the end

We arrived in need of refreshment and food after we had both had a traumatic day in different ways. We were quickly seated at a lovely table and glasses of Prosecco and a bottle of beautifully chilled Chenin Blanc arrived - followed shortly by a superb portion of spare ribs that we shared, The icing on the cake was the disc of grilled fresh pineapple at the bottom of the stack. The chicken green Thai curry and jasmine rice just gets better. We left at just before 7pm to go to a stunning performance of Hamilton and felt restored and reinvigorated thank you. Our server Shawn was a total delight - what had been a disastrous day became a wonderful evening experience- thank you so much

After researching various options, I chose this restaurant based on its stellar reputation and numerous positive reviews. My decision was further validated after speaking with an exceptional individual named Bas. Bas provided a comprehensive explanation of the menu, delivering information with remarkable clarity and precision. His professional demeanor and excellent customer service were truly impressive. In an era where outstanding customer service can be rare, Bas's approach was a refreshing exception. I cannot commend Bas enough for his outstanding service; he is undoubtedly an asset to your company. My experience thus far, even before visiting the restaurant, has been highly positive. Despite having many dining options, the high level of service I received from Bas has left me extremely satisfied with my choice. I am genuinely thrilled after my experience planning the perfect evening has been a nightmare as I found other restaurants to be rude and dismissive, none could compare to the exceptional level of service provided by Bas. His professionalism and attention to detail have set a high standard. I will update this review after my visit, but this exemplary customer service has already given me confidence that the evening will be wonderful. I look forward to posting another review following our visit.

Had a fabulous meal with my mum at Chaophraya the staff were super friendly and accommodating and even gave us a sample of a drink so we could try before we buy it. The food itself was delicious and to be honest the Thai green curry was the best I’ve ever had! Don’t get me wrong it’s quite expensive but definitely worth it as it’s so fresh and authentic. I was absolutely over the moon as I noticed that they sell my favourite (Thai mango sticky rice) but I was so full so asked if could have some to take out and they bagged it up for me which I really appreciate. Will definitely be returning again , thank you

Had a lovely meal, all the dishes were delicious, I particularly enjoyed the stir-fried rice meal with chicken. Spicy but not too spicy. The ambience was pleasant inside, quite calming. Our waiter Adam was really nice, everything was served quickly and he gave us plenty of advice on what to order as well as being generally fun and pleasant. Would definitely recommend!

I had a wonderful birthday meal here, we booked a dome which was really nice and got given our own speaker to play our music and they even provided a heater incase we got cold. Adam went above and beyond, very attentive and his friendly personality made it a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, starters, mains and I even got given a little cake with a candle to finish with complementary shots. The cocktails also went down well! This will always be a spot I will look forward to coming to, great food and amazing service. Thank you all!

Delicious food, amazing staff, all round beautiful memorable experience. Chaophraya is quickly becoming my go-to spot for Thai food! The staff is incredibly friendly. The portion sizes are great and the restaurant itself has a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Great restaurant for winter or summer. Good atmosphere and decor inside, upstairs and down. Very clean and comfortable. In the summer there are outdoor options on the balcony upstairs and also downstairs. Excellent service from greeting through to service and speed. We have tried several dishes and everything is a very high standard.

Only one fault, because the food blew my mind!! I had the chicken tacos to start and they were a different way of life 🙌 crispy fried chicken with flavour, the chicken visually looked like scratchings but still had that meaty chicken texture. For the main I had green Thai curry and there signature fries, next time I will go with rice, I think the fries should be part of a sharer in my opinion

I had a mild Thai Green Curry which was okay. The curry lacked a depth of flavour, and while fresh, felt like a rushed job. The service of the food was sloppy, with sauce spilled onto the serving platter, meaning it spilt onto the table and caused a mess. Over the meal a server asked how it was for me then proceeded to deliberately misgender me when I replied. For a higher price point I expected better, and while the food was good, not happy about the service.

Sawasdee! This place is always busy on weekends, but we finally managed to try it out yesterday on a sunny Tuesday afternoon. We were greeted with 'sawadee ka' at the entrance, which made us feel right at home. The ambience was very nice, and we received friendly and attentive service from Adam. My friend and I had Tom Yum Kung, Crispy Duck Salad, and Spicy Southern Stir Fry Chicken with Jasmine Rice. We were also delighted to discover that there was a two-for-one offer on Thai iced tea, so we couldn't resist ordering it. All the food was delicious, and even the Thai iced teas were divine! We were too full for dessert, but we'll definitely save room for it next time. We will definitely be back. Please maintain the quality of the food. 🙏🏼 Keep up the good work, Adam. Khop kun ka.

Absolutely fantastic, the food was wonderful so fresh and tasty. Staff were so kind even though we got in the restaurant for the last sitting, they went above and beyond for us.

Amazing food, amazing service and a beautiful venue! For such a lovely restaurant in the centre of Birmingham you'd expect it to be super expensive but the prices were surprisingly reasonable, portion sizes are huge so the value for money is excellent. The food is delicious, piping hot and super fresh, also amazing cocktails! Would definitely eat here again.

Pleasant staff, great Thai food and quick service. We were really impressed and will definitely be coming back! Chicken and duck are halal which is a bonus too :)

I love this restaurant,been here twice now,food is delicious, especially the chicken pad thai,staff are all really friendly and polite,good location too,by the bullring shopping centre.

Took awhile before we got to order and about 40 minutes till we got our starters. We ordered the start platter and really enjoyed the mix of items and how tasty they were. We also really enjoyed our mains and being Thai ourselves we enjoyed how authentic tasting the food was. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

I have some food allergies that they couldn’t accommodate. They couldn’t cook something without sauce, or without onion or garlic, and they couldn’t replace meat with tofu. In the end I had rice and egg. There was no apparent reason for this, the restaurant was not busy, they just didn’t want to. Very disappointing

The food is overall fine, simple but ok. The service is not the best one, they removed my napkin as soon as I finished my food, even if I was still drinking my tea. My friend had an allergy and they didn’t want to change or remove any ingredient because otherwise the dish would have “taste bad”. I think that if a client asks for a variation they could make an effort and do it, unless you have it already made, which was not the case.

This is the second branch I have been too. The restaurant does not disappoint. The service is truly amazing. All the staff are very friendly. The food isn’t too expensive either when compared to other restaurant We went for dinner, it was very busy but we did not wait too long for the food. There is no onsite parking, you would have to park in one of the near car parks.

I love this food .. we have been in the week for lunch and the green curry was to die for so couldn't wait to go back. Returned for my birthday on a Saturday .. prices wete higher.. but still lovely food. That vegetarian platter shared start was amazing. My only disappointment was the waiter said he was glad l told him it was my birthday.. but then nothing. No happy birthday.. no discount /drink, no fuss or acknowledgement.. Which was very disappointing as l wax a returning customer and other restaurant would have acknowledged a birthday person .

From the moment we walked in, it was evident that the evening would be marred by inconsistencies and disappointments. Upon perusing the menu, it became apparent that the pages were sticky, a clear indication of lackluster cleanliness. Our starters arrived haphazardly, with some items appearing before others, disrupting the flow of the meal. To exacerbate matters, the starters arrived at our table before our drinks, a clear oversight in service protocol. While the lamb curry managed to salvage some semblance of satisfaction with its flavorful profile, the accompanying jasmine rice fell short of expectations. Instead of the fragrant, fluffy texture expected of jasmine rice, it resembled sticky rice, indicative of poor preparation. My daughter's disappointment was palpable when her king prawn noodle dish arrived with a mere three king prawns. Having dined at numerous establishments, she had never encountered such a meager portion, leaving her feeling let down and unsatisfied. As we concluded our meal and prepared to leave, not a single staff member bid us farewell, compounding our disappointment. The lack of acknowledgment and courtesy further tainted our overall impression of the dining experience. In conclusion, our visit to this restaurant was marked by inconsistent service and mediocre fare. While there were moments of culinary redemption, they were overshadowed by numerous shortcomings. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this establishment based on our disappointing encounter.
