The food was great, although on the pricier range if you were to compare. The bulgogi I had was very nice but could use more beef for the cost. Had a pleasant experience and the waiter was nice but as I was leaving I was appalled by £5 service charge they charged me. I didn’t have time to check it and it was too late when I already paid, to opt out from this tip you thought was appropriate. This was charged in a sneaky way and completely ruined my experience and the remainder of the day. Excuse me, but taking my 1 plate and bringing it to my table was less than 1 meter apart from the kitchen, that just isn’t worth a generous £5 tip you took from me without my consent. Fine, keep it but neither me nor my friends will be back here. This is a robbery and no, the service was not worth that extra charged £5.

PopPopped in on off chance before Matinee performance of Moulin Rouge at nearby Piccadilly Theatre. Between us had chicken cats curry, white natural which is tofu based ramen, gyokuru and yuzu tea. All excellent, and when we mentioned the theatre, were given a 20% discount. Prices are extremely reasonable for the West End anyway, given restaurant situated a stones throw from tourist magnet of Piccadilly Circus. Nearby Queens Head pub is a true treehouse, selling excellent real ales amongst other things. Will visit pub and restaurant again when in area.

We were a group of three who had pre-booked the £45pp sharing menu on a Saturday. It was quiet (12pm) and the servers were attentive. We were 3 normal adults who had skipped breakfast to enjoy the lunch, so big appetites that day, we were / are familiar with how sharing menus work. The first two dishes to come out were delicious but tiny. I.e one ramekin between the three of us with a small mouthful of fish each (if that). Whilst the quality of the food deserves a 5* , we were being served a meal for 2 peckish adults. By the time the fourth course came out (one prawn toast cut in to 4 small pieces) I had had enough. Despite the embarrassment of causing a scene, I waved down the senior sever and pointed out that there were three of us each paying for the £45 sharing menu. They were very good after that and served us two plates of everything. We finished everything. It was delicious. It was just a shame that we had to prompt them to serve us an equivalent of three ‘heads’. I understand that it’s because we were an odd number, but they should have a way to accommodate that without short-changing customers.

This was the nicest meal we've had in a while. The devilled paneer had a proper kick to it, the prawn kari and hopper was delicious and my husband had the vegetable biryani. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant if you like tasty and spicy food. Service was great too.

Having done some research on eating venues in Shoreditch to take some friends from Australia for their first time in the UK, Smoking Goat came highly recommended. The food was mediocre, but more disappointing was the service! The attitude of the staff was one of entitlement and arrogance, which is a shame considering the past reviews. Ordinarily I would dismiss this as everyone can have an off night, but when it came to giving a tip we decided that the 12.5% that had automatically added to the bill was not reflective to the service given. We decided to drop this to approx 8% inline with their attitude and service .... to which we were then confronted with a very abrupt and angry waitress that informed us that she is on minimum wage and cant survive without tips! More training is required, and potentially different staff!

The food at the restaurant is very tasty and contrary to some other reviews we get along well with the staff when we eat at the restaurant and think that the service is fine. The food has been a bit too oily at times but this time it was okay and tasted great, including the bbq at the table. The meat (pork) can be a bit too fatty but this is pretty standard across Korean restaurants. Prices have become very high and at this visit there were some extra charges added to our bill unexpectedly, which we only realised later but suspect these relate to the additional sides which are usually complimentary at other Korean restaurants. The restaurant is very popular, especially weekends, so best to call and book ahead.

Service was great but the food itself was horrid. Took one bite of my meal and the doner meat meal (mixed) was different temperatures, with the lamb being cold and the chicken being lukewarm. Overall taste wasn't there either. Very likely that I caught acute food poisoning.

David in the restaurant this is evening, 17 September 2024, is absolutely amazing, he is so attentive and treats all his customers as individuals. I’m sitting here in the restaurant now, he’s an inspiration. He is polite and accommodating. You have served me in the past and it’s a pleasure to see that your exemplary customer service is consistent. Thank you

We ordered online via deliveroo and the food was a bit cold but what to expect on a 15 min ride from the restaurant. We ordered a selection of starters and it came in plastic trays which felt avoidable. The sticky chicken was great and so happy to say they have got ridden of the soggy tofu that used to be in the veg pad thai, great improvement from before.

We had a great meal here. The food was delicious, particularly the gyoza, fried mushrooms, fried tofu and the noodles. The food came out as it was ready and the service was really quick. The only disappointment was the mochi which I think were shop bought and not homemade
