The food tastes more like fast food rather than a restaurant. The flavors are normal, but on the salty side. You need to order at the counter, and the staff won't serve you any water or provide any service, yet they will still charge a mandatory service fee. This restaurant also serves as a supermarket, and my friend told me that they bought moldy food here after I had my meal. I won't go a second time, it was a terrible experience.

Summary: If you’re someone who likes food and have taste. Don’t come here. There’s a very nice Thai restaurant across the street. Go there. Ordered the £18 set The Karage chicken starter very small but very good. Ordered the chilli sauce. Jelly like texture, can’t even pour it on the chicken katsu evenly. Chicken Katsu good in general. Just what you’ll expect. The custard bun is the absolute worst. Just look at the picture. Photo taken immediately after cutting open. Grabbed the korean chocolate pie free gift from the little wooden box beside the till as we’ve spent more than £25. It’s expired on the 17/4 i believe. Told the staff there upon leaving, and he just replied yep yep. I literally just threw it back into the box. This place used to be good but not anymore.

One of the best Taiwanese 🇹🇼 street food in town. I was first attracted by their intimate setting inside that always reminded me of home. Today we went there a bit early and the one-man-band shop runner welcome us with a heart warming smile and let us in. We were 3 adults and 2 kids, and was recommended some very delicious dishes, the beef noodle soup is authentic, not like those fake Taiwanese 🇹🇼 dish in ❌Chinese 🇨🇳❌ restaurant that is fuelled with chemicals, the pancake roll and the pork belly rice 滷肉飯 is always my favourites, the kids love their Taiwanese fly chicken。we had a great time with our kids in your canteen and thank you for all your recommendations.

Beef noodles in Taiwanese cuisine must be good to highlight the characteristics of Taiwanese beef noodles. I kept this mentality to try it, but I can only say that I was disappointed. It tasted worse than other Chinese restaurants and had no taste. Not to mention that I had to wait for nearly an hour to make it. The waiter is also not familiar with the service. I can only say that the owner of this store is very careless.

Most of the Chinese food I have eaten in the past has not tasted good. This is the first time I have felt it tastes bad. Unpalatable. Unpalatable. Unpalatable.

What a disappointment We looked for some easy authentic food, and came in here. I had the beef noodle soup and it tasted of cinnamon water. The beef was not nice, the noodles and pak choi was overcooked. I enjoyed it so little that I stopped eating it after a few months full despite being very hungry. Wouldn't bother

As a Taiwanese, this restaurant is not very authentic Taiwanese food⋯ but it sells some Taiwanese groceries. Come on🥹

This place is the bomb.. my word.. the flavors the spice the supermarket, and the service.. it is beyond my imagination and sooo good.. if I could I would be here every day.. such good food and soo yum to eat. Just another world.. keep up the great food. Also this place is a supermarket so you can buy all the good things here like noodles sauces, dumplings etc. They also have a book shelf for readers..wonderful set up great atmosphere and crazy good service. Love it. Go here for sure

Definitely my favorite spot for Taiwanese food in London. Thanks for the friendly service and for the always great tasting food! It really makes me feel happy to be able to taste such authentic Taiwanese food in London! I hope your business will be prosperous along the way! Got food poisoned... I ordered a chicken bento there but the veggies in the plate was cold (I guess it's just defrozed). I didn't think much and just finished the food. But after I arrived home, I started to have a really bad headache and then I puked 5 times in the evening. It's such a nightmare...I had been there to buy Asian stuff before but it's my first time eating in. And it turned out to be like this...

Amazing online ordering service. My stuffs arrived today, safe and chilled ! First time I tried their service, it is very smooth, delivery is on time(by DHL), food are well protected as well. That chilling jacket on the market store works very well. It is a shame that a few items I have ordered were not available in the end after ordering them, but the staff was very helpful and efficient to help me quickly change to other preferred items as well as refund the item I don't want anymore. I think they have a new extra loyal customer in their pocket now.

What a find! Cafeteria style, comfortable atmosphere for easy eats. The food was okay, not bad, but there's a wide variety of Taiwanese dishes. Lovely to warm up to hot soup noodles and oden in the freezing cold weather.

I am not impressed with this place at all. The food is reheated not freshly cooked and as such is a potential health risk. They charge up front before you get the food and also charge an initial service charge on your bill and then when you pay, another screen presents further suggestions to add a tip. This gives the impression that the original service charge is optional when it isn't - it's extra. So you end up paying even more for awful food and of course even when you tell them about this there is no refund

Beautiful delivery quick and hot! Very tasty beef, pork dumplings soup. Tawain pancake very delicious. Chicken popcorn also top notch.

the service was good the food & this was hopefully just unfortunate choices by us, was very underwhelming the pig ears were fine, the pancakes were serviceable, but i can get the same taste from store bought paratha, which made the small amount a big negative, the presentation of the food was awful - to put some lettuce slices randomly on the plate with the pancakes doesn’t leave a good impression. the absolute lowlight was the bun though - complete joke for 6.25£. sparingly topped with a sauce & a few slices of sausage, way too much lettuce & buns that were cold. it tasted like some leftovers a college student would make - not like taiwanese cuisine. the restaurant was full of asian customers, so there may be other things to look forward to.

Food is very tasty and authentic but the portion is very small

The boss will treat customers differently. During the epidemic, he will first send orders to some bloggers. After the reaction, he will also block Facebook accounts ~ Taiwanese people think that they want to support Taiwanese businesses, but they disdain them! When the epidemic situation is so critical, everyone is scrambling for supplies, and supermarkets are empty, your store has been unable to read messages for almost a week! Went as I was missing Taiwanese home food. Food wasn’t perfect, more like home cooking, but somehow still good enough and really made me feel like I’m home. I’d definitely come back again. Recommended!

This smaller restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows at the corner of the first building on the block has a cozy, youthful, authentic vibe. There are Chinese & Asian instant noodles and sauces for sale at the counter in the back where you order and pay before they deliver the food to your table. I highly recommend the beef noodle soup, with optional ribbon noodles, extra portion. The popcorn chicken bento was tasty, but needed some fried Thai basil to be more delicious. My family and I would love to return to try more on the menu.

Great cheap eats! Ate here before a show at the Apollo and would definitely come back. A main and side each comes to under £20 per head and drinks are cheaper than in nearby pubs. Very casual (cafe is joined to a supermarket) but nice cafe decor and helpful service. Good size portions without being too heavy, food is made to order but arrived quickly.

Pretty good! I had the mixed braised appetizer, which was perfectly cooked. I don't usually like organs like heart, but they do it really well, and of course the pigs ears was amazing. My child really liked the mixed fish ball soup - the soup was very savory and there was a nice mix of different fish balls. I loved the fried oyster mushrooms - the mushrooms are fried with a delicate, crunchy batter. The vegetarian tofu rice dish was very homey, as was the beef noodle soup. I'm not a fan of soup beef, so I'll probably get another type of noodle soup next time. I thought the duck skin in their crunchy duck bun was really good, but I'm not sure I enjoyed it in a bun. I'd probably get it with another starch next time. Also, the snacks they have are great - so many nostalgia/craving foods. Overall, a wonderful, kid friendly, delicious Taiwanese shop. The food came out fast and the server was friendly.

Had karaoke in this restaurant, the facility and price is acceptable with medium quality. But the food is not close to good Taiwanese standard, feels like all the food are frozen food and ready-made pack and there are some weird combination that we never had in taiwan like fried dumpling, and putting the fried pork in the onion pancake.

Interesting groceries. Ordered a set lunch of a mains, a warming light broth chicken and vermicelli soup with side bowl of braised chinese leaves (a cooked dish but it was very cold, surely not a salad, but I didnt fuss, surely it was colder outside?) Maybe try again another day when its warmer.

Authentic Taiwanese light meals and snacks. Lots of taiwanese goods for sale, albeit some are from China. Staff were very friendly and Boss lady was very accommodating. Reasonable sized space and food. All in all, will come back and visit again!

Authentic Taiwanese food, based on a local’s words. Had two soups which were great as well as some organs which were cooked very well. Place is no fuss, including service being pretty basic. But that’s just the type of restaurant so wouldn’t criticize that + prices are ok.

Horrible horrible, the noodles was size of king spaghetti no seasoning nothing and lots of fried lettuce. Only two prawn was in the food it was mentioned seafood noodles im so serious it was only two prawns in the bowl. The chicken one I don’t want to talk about it was dry salty. Literally i throw my money in the bin. Shame i should get food from you me sushi. It take 1 houre and 30 minutes to deliver the food. Shame shame to this restaurant.

Nice selection of small plates long the line of tapas or meze. The food is along the lines of Chinese but with Japanese and Korean influences. All very nice. The only slight gripe would be a tendency towards the oily side, but all in all nice food. Slight delay in the delivery but it was just due to the very nice and apologetic delivery rider having difficulties locating the address,

Ho ja is one of the best Taiwanese restaurants in London!

We had Bento boxes which came with rice and a few vegetables. The katsu curry was thin and the pork addition had a lot of flavour but a bit salty. The Taro bun and salmon teriyaki were tasty. The portion sizes were reasonable. Overall the food was good and no problems with delivery.

The food arrived really quickly and was well packaged. Really recommend the pork stew! The rice was a bit dull and the vegetable spring rolls could be tastier, but generally the food was good.

Delivery time changed multiple times and food arrived lukewarm cold.... Said it was originally being delivered at 14.15 and the driver was assigned at 10 to 2, but it wasn't "on its way" until 14:40. I get the sense that the food was ready and just left on the side waiting for pick up, hence the temperature. Very disappointed as the food had become chewy and underwhelming. Can't exactly reheat a steamed bun, and quite frankly I should have to reheat anything...

Terrible experience. Approximately half an hour after the stated delivery time we rang the restaurant to be told that our food had been ready half an hour ago but there was no driver. I said I didn't want food that had been sitting around for so long and that I wanted to cancel the order. They directed me to Just Eat. After phoning I got through on the chat function and said I wanted to cancel the order. The reply was along the lines of we'll do that so I thanked the staff member and left the chat and we ordered from elsewhere The order wasn’t cancelled and 2 and a half hours later food that was stone cold apart from a slightly tepid dish. The restaurant could not even be bothered to stick the food in a microwave and pretend there was some semblance of customer service. There was a note on the attached receipt to say not to start to cook the order until a driver had been assigned. We did have some reheated the next day - it was tasty but was food that needed to be consumed soon after cooking Also dissatisfied with Just Eat. They offered a refund for the cold items up to £20 - on an order of £28 or so. I sent an email with the chat record attached - we ordered from the second place after the response suggesting the initial order was cancelled. Given there was a contract entered into - we pay the money, they deliver a meal, and what came was very late. cold and pretty horrid - they should have refunded the lot. For £8 we won't fight it but seems a small amount to lose a longstanding customer over. And we won't be ordering via Just Eat again

If food was a colour this would be beige. It was just okay. Dumplings were very average. Dumplings were not very filling and the rest was not great.

Pedimos pollo teriyaki pero el pollo estaba recocido y seco. La salsa teriyaki vino en un recipiente muy pequeño, no lo suficientemente grande para el tamaño de la porción y exigieron 50 p cuando pedí un poco más. Lo peor de todo fue la cocina y los baños. El baño de caballeros estaba muy sucio y desagradable, y usted accedió a ellos al pasar por la cocina con las puertas abiertas, la mayoría molestando a ver a un 'chef' tosiendo fuertemente cuando pasé. Nunca más para mí.

Teníamos la intención de probar este lugar desde que me mudé al vecindario hace unos meses. Vinimos cuando estaba bastante tranquilo. Nuestra comida llegó poco después de que ordenamos (puede ser bueno tener en cuenta que debe ordenar y pagar en el mostrador, no vendrán a tomar su pedido). Tuve el pollo Katsu Bento que venía con una salsa gratis al lado (me dieron el chile dulce). El pollo estaba crujiente y tenía una sabrosa capa de condimento en la parte superior que era realmente agradable! Lo único que diría es que la porción es un poco pequeña, aunque esto también podría deberse a que me estaba muriendo de hambre en ese momento. En general, creo que es un lugar bastante agradable para una comida rápida y fácil.

We've spotted Ho-Ja just in our neighbourhood so we went to try it out. It's a little place with a simple menu, but absolutely delicious! The prices are affordable and the portions quite big. Also, a friend from Vietnam confirmed it is proper Vietnamese cuisine and was quite impressed. Highly recommended!

I wonder if they changed the chef/owner... Ordered beef noodle soup and the flavour changed completely, they used to put a lot of vegetables in the soup but now no vegetables at all. The soup was not as delicious as before, menu changed too.

Went there tonight,we arrived as a big group was leaving. 2 staff members saw that we came in and no acknowledgement or greeting. No menu visible in our table. After looking around trying to catch their attention, I manage to grab the attention of one of them and asked for menu. She brought it and said we need to order at the counter. We ordered and food was okayish, nothing special. No one came to ask how was our food or even when we were leaving, no one thanked us for the visit. We were the last ones inside the restaurant. The only special thing was our bubble tea. Disappointing as doesn't make you want to go back. Especially after having been to Taiwan and having fond memories of that trip. Wanted to bring my kids but don't feel like it anymore. The food was also not great. Nothing special.

Popped in before a show at the O2 and grabbed some Taiwanese pancakes and two katsu bento boxes. Chicken was soooo crispy and the portion was so generous, but the rice and veg were quite cold. Really cute and cosy in there and super fast service. Definitely wanna pop back to try some more!

We dropped in on a Saturday lunchtime, excellent food - particularly the Udon choices. Note that you can buy the noodles from the shop, they're pre-cooked and a real revelation after using dried Udon. (The Hoja rolls aren't bad either). Nice, friendly and helpful staff. We'll be going back when shopping in the area - plenty left on the menu to try. One word of caution, the Taiwanese chilli sauce is like napalm...

Awesome experience. Until Ho-Ja I never tried Taiwanese food but the looks and ambient of the restaurant made me have a go. Very spacious, not to crowded authentic decoration, family friendly. I loved it all even before trying the food. The food looked great and was spectacularly delicious on top of that it was also cheap. We had the Chicken Teriyaki Bento and Katsu Tofu all nicely presented the staff was spotless and helpful. I recommend and will definitely come again. One of the best meals that I ever had in London.

I visited this restaurant with my husband & friend before we headed to O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire for a gig. I actually really like how it's "pick up the menu, find your own seat & order at the counter" kind of restaurant, as this way is casual & efficient, just like most bistros in Taiwan. Most of the dishes were authentic as well. The Chicken Katsu (Taiwanese Friend Chicken Cutlet/Ji Pai) was exactly what I have been craving for!

So have walked by here hundreds of times and have always dented whether or not to pop in. Having been to Japan and Taiwan many times I was instantly drawn by the 'display food' in the window and the relatively busy restaurant. I believe this restaurant can't be more than a year old and as mentioned there always seems to be a slow but steady stream of diners there. Any way, decided to give it a go on a Sunday. Was amazed at their lunch time deal-£9.95 for a starter main desert/hot drink. I ordered pork katsu, spring rolls and a jasmine tea. For this price I nearly fell off my chair. The interior of the restaurant is quite simplistic (you wouldn't sit there for hours chatting), benches and wooden tables are comfortable The food itself wasn't bad, my katsu was a little greasy but the flavour was good. Staff are friendly and the sound system bellowed out some jpop which address to the atmosphere. Would I visit again......look the food wasn't the best however for the price and the atmosphere I would say yes for the lunch time deal. May look to pop back in for a hearty soup during the cold winter months.
