The best restaurants serving Asian food in East Midlands

Strange as this may sound, i've been searching for this restaurant ever since i had the best ever Thai meal in Burton at Favourite Thai under the ownership of chef Chairat Kongkasmut. He subsequently left there and i thought i'd never have Seabass Chilli Mango ever again. Well i finally found it quite by chance tonight in Thai Thai and boy was it good! If you go to this restaurant and like spicy seabass with some fruity mango, then give this a go - you won't regret it. This meal is worth going out of your way for. If I'm ever near Chesterfield on business, i will go out of my way to stay overnight here and eat out at Thai Thai. By the way, the rest of the menu looks good too :-)

Firstly This Review is Not about the Food. I have been Going to New Swad or New Swad Indian For Many ,Many Years With Friends & Family ,It has always been 100% for Food & Service the staff our like Family ,However Last night, I was Not to Well ,I ordered a take away Lamb Bhuna, Chips, Cheese Nan, poppadom's ,pickles Etc and of Course A " Large Bottle of Ice Cold Cobra" ,I was told 50 mins to 1 hour, as they were Busy, That's fine. I said ... So 2 hours Later & 22 calls yes , 22 calls to them! they Finally answered the Phone, "were is my meal & and My Ice cold Cobra" ? I asked ? They are just wrapping it up now . 15 Minutes Later My Meal arrived ,Thank you I said Also where is my Ice Cold Cobra , Well I didn't expect the Answer ! " There's No Beer only food.. I tried to explain to the Driver , who told me, in no uncertain Terms , " Well I am only the driver ,I am busy " & Drove off leaving Me ,in the road , He was Rude and didn't seem to Care About the Reputation of New Swad Restaurant ! I was Totally Floored By his Attitude also the lack of Service From New Swad I rang The Manager Who informed Me , that he will Sort this out! So I have agreed To go into the New Swad Restaurant, Today To see What is On offer ,in way of compensation, For The Terrible Service I Received from a Restaurant, that A I am & my friends and Family have been for years and years! This is the first time I have Had reason To Complain The ,food ,staff service at New Swad has been 100% We will continue To Use New Swad ,as Hopefully The Boss will Sort This Issues Out .Thank You Mr Boz .

Recommended by a friend, had a take away for four---arrived before time and was piping hot which was good, but the most tasteless boring unappetizing curries the four of us has ever had--ended in the bin which was really a pain--will not bother again

We had a takeaway spent over £40 and the food was awful. We all had the same dish the rice was clearly burnt it tasted awful the portion size was very small for the price. We will never eat here again.

We ordered and collected our menu choice last Saturday and the quality and flavour of the food was fantastic. Looking forward to trying some different dishes from the menu next time.

Ordered on just eat, said delivered but never came. Didn't pick up the phone either. Gave it an extra 20 minutes but still didn't pick up the phone. Hungry and extremely angry now as I stayed up later than wanted when I have a morning shift tomorrow.

We had a takeaway from here on saturday 12th October and was absolutely delicious. My only criticism was the dish Jordi was way more than the 2 chillies heat rating but was still delicious

The food here is wonderful: consistently delicious, delicate flavours, from the best ingredients. Divine. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, lovely staff, and there always seems to be parking available just across the road by the river. I think we have visited Taan Thai four times this year.

I visited here with a couple of my friends some time ago and have only just got round to doing my review. My friends and I visited when the resteraunt was empty so we were showed to our table and service was nice and quick. When visiting Desi Tawa I ordered a Tawa 2 For Three To Four People, which consists Of Lamb Karahi, Chicken Karahi, Chicken Tikka, Galafi Sheekh Kebabs, Masala Fish, Veg Pakoras Nan Bread & Tandoori Roti served woth salad and sauce. The food was nice but nothing too special to be honest, I have eaten at many desi/authentic food places for Asian/Pakistani food and this one didn't blow me away. The whole experience was nice and good for a social gathering between friends as it's nice to all have a big Tawa I'm the middle to help yourselves off and the food was a reasonable amount, the £40 price I did think was a bit steep as it's nothing too grand really but overall for the area and the fact there's a lot of curry houses around there it's an acceptable price for the portion. The interior of the resteraunt is dine very nice and staff were reasonably friendly. I enjoy eating my food woth a water so I don't bloat myself too much and so all my food tastes nice and sits well but one thing I will add is fizzy pop is expensive here. Overall a reasonable experience and woth a few tweaks could be seriously good, has to improve a bit though.

Really enjoyable meal. Bright spacious restaurant. Attentive service, and great food. The beef bibimbap bbq and the Korean fried chicken were stand outs.
