The place has a range of cakes, Indian snacks, and takeaway meals, as well as assorted pre-packed deli goods. All made fresh by local partners, steered by the owner. The samosas are the best I have tasted in Leicester, and I have tasted quite a few in my time. The pre-packed pork pies are by Walkers, which is a top brand, and very good value.

Wow! We popped in as we were visiting the hospital and wanted to try it after finding out about it on Facebook. It was so worth the short detour. The staff were absolutely lovely. Great to meet them after seeing their Facebook posts etc. The food has all been delicious. The potato bhaji was stunning (I don't like onion so thanks for the information that it didn't contain any). It took my tastebuds back to a trip to India. My partner loved his vegetable samosa and onion bhaji. The other items we purchased (bakery things) were also fantastic. The homemade chutney was to die for! We will so be back. x

So I popped in yesterday to get the new roast chicken samosa, and whilst there decided to get some 'burnt' cobs for the husband to try. The staff Kam and Elliot served me, both super friendly and helpful. The samosa were delicious and the cobs a huge hit too, so much so, I have returned today for more 'burnt ' cobs, more samosa and a bhaji or 3! It is a corner shop, but it's definitely not 'just' a corner shop.

My experience getting a too good to go bag from here was so bad. Standard too good to go bags are a selection of items. I got half a cake essentially, wrapped in cling film. The guy said to add some simple syrup so I said ok and he said do you know what that is in like a patronising way so I had to repeat back to him what simple syrup is😂 Could tell the guy felt slightly bad at the fact he was doing a bit of a rip off and could tell I was surprised at this disappointing too good to go single item, so he said for the guy on the till to add a Bhaji and a pot of chutney “so she has something to eat on the drive home”? So 2 items, rip off and random. The cake wasn’t nice but the bhaji was top notch, just a shame I the concept of too good to go wasn’t understood by this corner shop. The shop is quite messy, it’s right that it’s not JUST a corner shop, but it is still very much a corner shop. Deffo not a deli. I do feel bad for those travelling far to visit. Wouldn’t recommend it as it was uncomfortable, patronising and not quite clean / tidy enough for the nice bread it was selling. Also it doesn’t have actual deli food such as olives/ meats etc. A lot of the Indian food is just standard for Leicester so is nice but is sold at 3x the price.

I recently left what I think in hindsight was quite a harsh review of my trip, I couldn’t edit so I have since deleted and take back my comments as the management dealt with it so well. I am incredibly impressed with how the team managed this in their response and their honesty towards the situation! I feel it’s only fair to say I most certainly would return after this. Also the shop has an incredible selection of goods, and it’s one of those places that will surprise you with a new treat every visit. I would be missing out if I said I wouldn’t go back!!

This shop is such a treat. We wanted an alternative to takeaways on a Saturday and this shop had everything to offer. Had a lovely little gin tasting session with a lovely lady serving. This session was passing time on as we waited for our curry bowls. We've been to this shop a couple of times and it gets better and more informative each time! The staff really made me feel at ease and that in itself is a miracle! Thankyou for your great service :)

We stumbled across this #notjustacornershop a couple of years ago and it has become a favourite place. They stock a wide variety of top quality local produce, such as sublime curries, bhajis and samosas, made by the owners, who owned Lilu restaurant; Hambleton Hall breads, Doughnotts donuts, cakes (vegan and gluten free options), Vine Farm milk, local meats, yogurts, eggs, jams and chutnies, honey, gin, cider and so much more. They also stock the essentials and if you need something, they usually have it. The owners, Pratik and Bee, have become friends not just to us, but to the local community. They go above and beyond to help, offer support and kindness... during the pandemic they sourced items people were struggling to find. They also provide home deliveries for those who need it. My twelve year old daughter is autistic and has learning difficulties, and they have shown genuine kindness during times of high anxiety and overwhelm. As a means of learning, and to boost confidence, we have been making dog cookies, which Pratik and Bee have invited us to sell on their shopfront. In doing this, my daughter is learning valuable life and business skills, and we donate to local animal charities too. If you haven't already visited, what are you waiting for? The owners have a funky Chaat Bar with the yummiest freshly made tikka wraps, and a coffee caravan, serving 'proper coffee'. There is such a wide variety of delicious produce, you won't be disappointed.

Ordered a too good to go bag as wanted to try it out… it was a total waste of time, 2 loads of bread who is going to eat 2 loads of bread in a day? A Viennese swirl that looked like it had been kicked around the floor a few times and half was missing! A chocolate bar( I thought it was produce that needed to be sold by end of day? A sausage roll, a tiny pot of some sort of sauce and a pack of who knows what as they had ripped the label off!! Which by the way is illegal to sell any packed produce without allergens, labels and best before date!! So quite clearly it must of been way out of date!! I have allergies and as we had no idea what these 2 items were we had to throw away!! All in all we could only eat bread, a sausage roll and a chocolate bar, total waste of the drive and won’t be back. Also a smile and thank you from the lady owner would be nice instead of a grunt!! I suppose I will be seeing this online for all to see so no I am not picking on you!!

What is best? The outstanding local food, or the humour of the owner Pratik and his lovely wife Bee. If you want to experience an Asian version of Fawlty Towers, pop along to this little deli which champions local produce, especially local vineyard Rothley Wine Estate and local brewery The Mash and Press.

Looks like a good community pub. Everard tied but seems to sell mostly larger. Two ales on, tiger and old original. I had the latter, which was off.... at over £4 a pint which is medium to high price for the area this was unfortunately not the best.

We had ordered 3 “buy one get one free” cookie doughs which would’ve added up to 6 for our children. They only sent 3 cookie doughs despite us paying the 2for1 price for the 6. They refused to send us the other 3 cookie doughs and said if we wanted them we had to collect them ourselves despite me not being able to drive. Very poor customer service we have ordered many times from here but for the bad customer service we will never order again.
