Sat us down after I clearly told them I haven’t booked but was told that’s no problem. Waiting around 15 minutes to order food (which was fine), then ordered and waited another 15 minutes or so (again this was fine), then we were asked to leave as we never booked just when the place got busier. Started clearing the table as we were still figuring out what just happened

I went in November with my boyfreind we had a an excellent time the food and customer service was great.definitely going back would recommend it to family and friends.

Had a takeaway from here and it was excellent, all of the family loved it. Would definitely go there again.

Had a lovely meal on 11/2/24, shame the portion sizes have reduced with prices rising when you eat in, a bit disappointed with portion sizes, but a nice cosy place to enjoy a Turkish meal

Ample parking. Really good food. Their staff is helpful as well. The only problem with this place is that they DO NOT accept card/online payment, and the number of high chairs is limited. So, book a table in advance (along with the high chair, if you need one) and carry cash for settling up the bill.

Our local Turkish and the food never disappoints

Definitely the finest and most value money Turkish restaurant in the city. The food is fresh, the service is personal and the correct balance of spices and other ingredients. Bring your own alcohol too! Highly recommend the chicken beyti meal or the chicken sarma beyti. You won't be disappointed whether it's a take away or sit in meal. Also wonderful for young children.

Tried many turkishes within Leic and this is certainly the best by far! Get on just eat and take card and be even better

Unreal food, so tasty! A really nice atmosphere with lovely staff. I will definitely be coming here again! Chicken shish was to die for.

We have eaten here before and it was fabulous we often have a takeaway like we did last night as they are very handy for me and my wife but I would travel much further for food as good as this food always hot and fresh and chips crispy with loads of taste I have never had a negative thing to say about this eating place good food excellent value and service I would highly recommend this very healthy food and would like to thank all at Mezze Mangal Oadby for all the excellent service and food that we have received in the past and look forwards to my next meal well done .

Visited this place during a Friday night with friends. We ordered a big platter which had a variety of meats. The food was absolutely amazing!!! So Delicious and full of flavour. This is my favourite turkish restaurant as the standards never drop and consistency is always there 👌

Mezze mangal is the best Turkish restaurant in Leicester, hands down. Great service and friendly staff. Brilliant and consistently quality food. My favourite is the chicken byeti (with chilli flakes) meal deal on a Friday! The humous is superb! Tastes so fresh. Just tried the falafel wrap today, also very good.

Went to visit Mezze Mangal with family recently. Thankfully booked a table. Plenty of parking outside. Service was really good from all staff. Food was really nice. The mixed cold and hot mezze platters were really tasty. Meal was very filling. Staff were really nice to us, even gave us complimentary baklava and Turkish tea. Only negative’s are the menu is old on all their social media platforms so the price was not what we expected. Also the price of a small bowl of chips was £4.50!! I’ve paid less in a 5 star hotel in London! Would visit again and would recommend.

Amazing food & great hospitality !

Best Turkish in Leicester by far. Meat is always moist and salad is so simple yet tasty. Their hummus is not the best, has really gone down in quality recently, I wouldn't recommend it. But it shouldn't put you off going here as the rest of the menu is top notch.

Second time to this gem. I live in London and I've had my share of Turkish food but this really is my favourite. Food was delicious, hot, tasty, timely and plentiful. What's not to love? Great value for top quality food. Please do visit.

Living in Oadby, this is the best Turkish restaurant in south Leicester, highly recommend the family platter, also they have some of the best chicken wings I've had in Leicester. Dining in is a pleasure, the place is small but cosy, the staff are very friendly and service is quick. Also is good value compared to alot of other Turkish restaurants with working out under £15 per person when going with family. Overall definitely worth a visit

Take away family platter for 3 friends - honestly was double the amount of food we needed for a very reasonable price! Delicious, hot and super tasty! Would definitely recommend!

Nourriture super. Turque Un delice

I visited this little local Turkish restaurant with friends. The food was amazing! It was fresh, authentic and very tasty. The chicken shish was especially tender and nicer than any I've ever had, I only wish I could have eaten more but the lovely warm bread and dips were too good to resist. We had the family deal which was a mix of chicken and lamb including beyti, shish and wings all served on a lovely bed of rice with fried onions. We did let the staff know that we were in a bit of a rush due to some show tickets and our order was expedited with efficency and very professional service. I used to visit Konak as my go to Turkish restaurant in Leicester, but I now have a new favourite. Well done Mezze Mangal - Oadby. Try it folks, you won't be disappointed.

Love this place. Cheap & cheerful but the food is really good & the staff are friendly, polite & helpful.

Nice little independent restaurant, serving Turkish food. Food is fresh and tasty. Mostly cooked in front of you on an open barbecue. Pleasant staff, very friendly and welcoming. My only criticism is that they only accept cash and do not offer a delivery option, whether directly or through third parties like just eat or uber eats etc.

The worst Turkish restaurant i ever been to the owner is a miserable person and not polite and he refused to sit me my family away from the front door even though I asked to be moved as I had two little grandchildren with me and the door wasn’t kept shut so we were in the midst of a cold wave coming in all the time the door kept opening and saying the empty tables were booked further in the restaurant We finished our meal and the tables were still empty and no one turned up. He is a very miserable guy and the food served was no where as good as as other their Turkish restaurants.. Please check your bill as the girl on the counter adds meals on that you haven’t even ordered. I or my family will never set foot in this place ever.

Fabulous little Turkish restaurant. We liked it so much that we went back the very next day. Authentic Turkish food and friendly welcoming staff. Super quick service and everything cooked fresh in front of your eyes.

I broke with tradition and ordered the Lamb burger today. The best burger in Leicester by far which is saying something given the excellent selection of burger independents there are out there - boo, burgerbase, phat buns. Very rarely compelled to write a review on Google after takeout but it was really that good.

I'm a big fan of turkish food. Having tried most turkish resturants in Leicester I can say the food is ok but not best. Portions are smaller compared to other Turkish restaurants and a bit more expensive.

Good food, lamb/ chicken cooked well, nice salad. Very small portions for the money! Other Turkish places are more generous than this one! One young lad is very friendly but the lady and the owner are very rude, no smiles.The prices are made up on the menu, you go in and they charge you more. The worst selection of free drinks with your meals.I really dislike the customer service here, they need improvement. Happy to take your money though!

First class food and service and food. Ordered a takeaway today and rang earlier than we needed it, they said just tell us what time you’d like it and we will make it ready for that time. Was ready when I got there and piping hot and fresh when I got home. Tasty and perfectly cooked. Love this place. Thankyou to the staff and owners.

I probably have a very good idea of Turkish food now having eaten in many restaurants in the UK and in Turkey. Have to say i really enjoyed the food here. The main family platter gets a 9.5/10. I can't give it a 10 as i always like to give people room for improvement. Probably sounds harsh but would a wedge of lemon would've made this perfect. Yes that is how good it was, i'm struggling to give ideas for improvement.TL;DR Smells amazing, flavourful, good portions and friendly staff. Highly recommend it.

Nice turkish restaurant on the high Street with off street parking just outside. Not been when it is busy, but it was nice and quiet when we went, with a nice menu and good quiet atmosphere to enjoy your meal and company.

I visited here yesterday (11th November) 3 people were working, 2 younger guys serving and an older guy who I guess is the manager. Firstly the price had increased, but thats fair enough, I can live with that, the main issue was the guy who I believe to be the manager. We took our own alcohol as have done many times before, were seated and provided with a glass and a bottle opener. The older guy rudely brings our food over and states "You didn't buy that here, its £3 corkage", I asked where that was stated and considering I've never had that charge before was not expecting to pay, he explains "its normal", I asked where he got the "normal" from and that I was not paying and he went off. Thankfully it was not added to the bill but I won't be returning to eat in, his attitude will definitely lose custom. Younger guys who served were brilliant so its a real shame one person spoils the atmosphere.

We had a great time at the Mezze. We had great mixed grill. We had great service and great atmosphere. Mezes were tasty. Thank you for everything.

Small portions and not even turkish rice served in the platter. We've been to many Turkish resturants but I have never been charged for Turkish bread before. Granted it was the 2nd portion we received, but we should've been told it's chargeable!!. It was the 1st time and will be last time going there. We'll stick to Istanbul on Loughborough Rd next time, they don't charge for bread no matter how many times they refill it.

Most spicy Turkish food served in Leicester

Limited menu but well prepared and presented. Very reasonable prices. Staff friendly and interested. Restaurant "cosy". Not a problem when quiet, but could be when busy.

We entrusted our anniversary celebrations to this restaurant and it was a lovely, relaxed setting with great service and really fresh, tasty food. We are quite new to Turkish cuisine and they were attentive and helpful with choosing the approriate level of spicing. The mix of chicken and minced lamb kebabs was tender and beautifully cooked; the mezzi starters were a journey of exploration, with a fresh, dish of soft, warm flat bread. The deserts were wonderfully indulgent and we found sharing two between three of us to be enough. All very reasonably priced, enhanced by the BYO wine invitation. A really lovely evening - Thank you.

Best Turkish place hands down after Istanbul...

Went in 18/6 and was a last minute decision. I messaged them on Instagram after they started following me. I had not been here for over a year.Restaurant is clean and I used to attend when it was an Indian restaurant before. Well decorated and I believe you can take your own alcohol in.Waitress is not the sharpest but it doesn’t matter. They came x3 to ask for the Order so felt a bit rushed.Ordered the 4 mezzes for £10, and then mains. Ordered the sea bass that takes 25-30minutes. It’s a whole fish and waitress did not know what ‘fillet’ means.Anyway, fish looked great but was a bit dry.2 chicken meals at £15.50 each came with wings, spicy shish, chips/rice, beyti and salad (that she had forgotten about at first). The Spicy chicken was spicy!! Salad portions have shrunk but.....Great food and just a few tweaks required hence the 4*

Went in on a Friday afternoon I was the only one there and the service was quick. However, the food wasn't as tasty as I was made to believe by the reviews. Maybe I just had high expectations. It wasn't the worst or the best Turkish meal I've had.

Got here at 12.20pm on a Saturday because google says this place is open from 12pm and trip advisor says it serves lunch. Found it closed with no opening times on display in the window to work out whether to hand around or not. Annoyed!

I can't believe that previous reviews have commented rude staff. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent and the restaurant very busy, which tells it's own story. Defiantly worth a visit.

Found hair in the food informed the waitress and the reply was “do you have any more complaints”. Charged us full price and said getting hair in food is “Normal”.when asked why then staff started shouting and saying I don’t know I am not the owner. Owner wasn’t there but thank goodness owner’s son was present and he apologised on behalf of the staff he understood what we were trying to say.

An excellent experience in its category. The service was friendly and, at least during off-peak hours, fast. The food was really tasty and to someone who's only been to Turkey once, authentic. The meal deal is great value for money and definitely filling. Highly recommended if you're looking for a good meal in this neighbourhood.

Dont go here the staff are rude and the food comes so late. I asked for the bill after a meal with a friend and the owner just said here which was not right as i am paying for food.

Really enjoy the food from here and a great price! Always cooked fresh, you can see all the meat and veg at the counter! Always people in there! The Turkish bread is the icing on the cake! I will continue to order from here!
