Duck bao bun tasty but had to pull out and discard half the 'meat' due to it being jelly/fat/unchewable pieces Pork skewers weird Pad thai bland, essentially just plain wet noodles with crunchy carrots and very dry log shaped eggs. Chicken stringy and dry Soup fine. Phuket on the beach cocktail very tasty Very nice decor and atmosphere (aside from hearing other patrons with similar grumbles to us and noticing the layer of grime the longer you look around) Definitely not worth the £70 for the two of us, especially when leaving hungry to go back to the hotel to uber food

Very stylish yet extremely welcoming interior. I had what the equivalent of sesame prawn toast, although it was chicken, hence I was curious to try it. Nice and crispy with a dipping sauce. Then a beef massaman, because I always have that in a new place. I don’t know whether it was at all authentic, but it was rich and creamy with a good ratio of beef, potatoes and peanuts. Staff are amazing.

Every time me and my partner go in there the food is amazingly fresh. It’s great tasting. Fast service. Highly recommended

We have been here many times, and I thought I would write a review. Late lunch, for a special occasion. Staff are very polite. Ordered platter for 2, a rice dish and padthai. Really yummy food. Zaap also serves strong cocktails, bubble teas, and fruit sodas. The grape soda is nice. Was advised to order the padthai on the lunch menu, so I will get additional pancake rolls. You can also order more food in the middle of the meal since the turnaround is quick. Service charge are automatically added on, but they tell you this, and you have the option to change this, which is a nice touch. Its the fine details Zaap pay attention to. A well deserved 5*.

I can’t speak enough about how nice this place. The decoration is stunning, once you are in, it feels like you are not in the UK anymore. The staff are so friendly. The service is super fast, and the prices are very affordable. This place is a must visit type.

I didn't eat much here but from what I've seen it was spectacular, there seems to be a place where immigrants from Thailand use to go so that should be a good point in the favor of the restaurant ... The starters I asked tasted very good , and looked really fresh! The atmosphere is like a street market , very noisy but not too much , a friendly place , the right choice if you're looking for Thai food in Nottingham.

Been at least half a dozen times, utterly disinterested staff then the utter shock when then I asked for the service charge to be taken off. The cheek to even dispute it. Not a bitter twisted keyboard warrior but someone who has had much better service every time I’ve been there

Went to Zaap Nottingham on 21 February 2024, great food, flavours and service. Had Tom Yam soup with Chicken and Pad Thai with prawns and tofu and the Thai green papaya salad. Service by Ploy was fantastic, very attentive and friendly.

Food was ordered and it was supposed to be the Thai red curry with the lesser amount of spice and it was wildly over hot. There were so many pieces of raw red chill in it!! I’m a well versed Thai food eater and regular customer, so something was off that night.

Excellent food and service. Food came really quickly and the staff were so friendly. We were there for a really early dinner, but the place was still pretty busy. Both had a dish of the specials menu, and the food was different and interesting, with a good kick.

Fun place, great service, but the food wasn't for me, grey fatty pork looked so grim swimming in oil in a dark broth that resembled bin juice🤮 On an upnote the Bao buns with chicken satay were lush 👍

Went here for Valentine’s Day, for the first time. 30 minute wait for a table which was a positive sign as people were willing to queue on their special day for this place. The food was incredible and really well priced. The decor and overall vibe and atmosphere was so cool and unique. Service was excellent, especially Poppy who was lovely and made our night. Will 100% be returning soon.

I ordered the Pad Sae Aew with Tofu on Deliveroo. Usually it is excellent, but this time there were only 2 pieces of tofu.

I love Thai food and Zaap offers a huge menu to suit all tastes. I was really impressed with the care they took regarding my friend's peanut allergy. The service is always great here, as well as the food, the only reason I gave it a four star is the space, it can feel cramped when busy.

A hidden gem of Nottingham in my opinion. It looks exactly like a Thai street market. The food was freshly prepared too and was amazing. Definitely the best Thai food I've eaten. I highly recommend the chicken pad Thai. The staff were really nice too and we're very caring. I highly recommend this place and I will be coming back.

I think I over hyped this myself. Wanted it be more than it was. Food was OK. Place was very warm inside. To the point of being uncomfortable. Service was OK. I'm on the fence if I want to try this chain at other locations.

The best Thai food I’ve had outside of Thailand. It tasted authentic

Above average, but not to die for Thai food for UK standards. Tom yum kung was a no for us, overly salty. Good taste for pork leg and crispy pork belly, generous portions. Steamed fish was sour and spicy, would recommend this - only drawback was that the flavour was overwhelmed by lemon zest (the whole fish just overly tasted of lemon), grilled seafood was lovely and flavoursome. Thai (green) milk tea was too sweet, and you can taste the artificial flavour from the powder mix.

The staff can take a while to seat you so you are left standing by the door a while. The food is cooked to order so is fresh, hot and tasty if a little limited but they have done well to create an atmosphere and surroundings akin to street food in Thailand

MY NEW FAVOURITE RESTAURANT! Since travelling around thailand 4 years ago ive been aching to find somewhere that has authentic Thai food in the right setting. I can say this honestly feels just like being back in a market in Bangkok. The chicken feet dishes were amazing! & its the first time ive found thai tea and sticky rice and mango pudding anywhere in the UK!! Even the decor down to the tuk tuks, 7/11 signs, and even the imitated dodgy wiring from the ceiling (as it is in Thailand haha) was spot on! Absolutely in love and will definitely be returning!

This was our first visit, and it certainly won't be our last. The food looks and tastes amazing!

We came here on a Saturday night and it was totally full but there was a decent area we could sit for a drink while we waited for a table-- even at 7pm we only needed to wait about 20 minutes. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the atmosphere is bustling. Excellent vibe in the air the whole time we were there. You might end up seated in a converted tuk tuk! The menu is extensive and there are loads of great options including for vegetarians. We were also served extremely quickly-- they pride themselves on their speed of service, and rightly so. Really enjoyed our meal. I'd definitely come again with a party of any size.

Came here for my birthday, no regrets! Fantastic veggie selection, the servers are just incredible, so nice and helpful, and you can tell the people that come here often as they have such a good relationship with the clientele. The atmosphere was amazing, beautiful setting, no overly loud music, just fantastic food and atmosphere. Food came out quickly, with enough time between courses. The food itself was insanely tasty, just have to try it! There is an optional 10% service charge, but one) the server asked me if I wanted it taken off, which I've never experienced and appreciated! Two) absolutely didn't mind paying it as the service was very good. If I'm back in Nottingham, I'd go out of my way to make the trip back here.

Would absolutely go again, highly recommended. Good vibes, great food, awesome aesthetic. Nice value on the menu too.

The best thai restaurant for the most authentic thai food.

Horrendous! Bartender picked Ice off the floor and put in to a drink he was making. Please stop regardless of bad reviews and have a stern food standards review with this gentlemen. These lack of standards are life threatening. Came from Derby, left without being seated. Food Hygeine will be informed.

We attended Zaap Thai for a business meal and everything was amazing. The setting is fantastic, I’ve never been to Thailand however it felt like we were in a busy marketplace in a Thai city. It’s carefully curated and the aesthetic is equally as pleasing as the food - which is amazing! I ordered the vegan red curry with plant based chicken and it was DELICIOUS. Oh my goodness, the taste was so rich and full of flavour - I nearly ordered a second portion. Fantastic food and even though the restaurant was busy, the service was quick, efficient and very good. The drinks were also delicious and I will definitely be coming back. 10/10. Keep up the amazing work guys.

Great quick service and amazing food selection

The restaurant is unique - it has a Thai ambiance with cool decorations that remind me of my trips in Thailand. It even has tuk tuks inside where you can dine. The service was attentive and they served my food relatively quickly, which surprised me a bit, considering it was a busy time. I had the Peek Gai Tod (southern style Thai deep fried chicken wings) and Pad Ga Prao (stir fried minced pork with basil and rice). The Peek Gai Tod (£6.95) was one of the most crispiest wings I’ve ever had - it came with a mild sweet sauce that complemented with it well. It didn’t have a unique flavour but the crispiness was the best part of it. The Pad Ga Prao (£13.95) was good, however, the rice was a bit dry. The portion wasn’t too small but it wasn’t also too big. It was the right amount for one person - the flavour wasn’t anything extraordinary but it was a classic. It’s fun to dine in - you can enjoy and admire the decorations while you wait. It offers amazing, large options for vegetarians and I gotta say their menu is fairly extensive. It’s worth to stop by if you want Thai food!

Visited for the first time today, food exceeded our expectations and in a great Thai setting. We love Thai food and have been to Thailand many times and this is the closest we have found in this country to feeling like we were in Thailand. Will definitely come back!

Updated review, still one of the best restaurants in Nottingham! The food at Zaap is always delicious. The staff is very polite. I have been there 3 times and everything was great every time!

First the positives: great decor and vibes with a lively atmosphere. The service is super fast and effective. Unfortunately, the food is just dreadful. I ordered gyoza to start and sent them back after one bite because the usually delicate wrap was so thick it was like eating a digestive. I had the fish cakes as alternative, which were fine but bland and the sweet chillie was just too sweet and thick. Akin to jam. Finally, I ordered the Pad Krapow Gai with a fried egg. The rubbery egg must have been cooked this morning and the food had almost no taste. Not even the chillies were hot. Would not recommend.

The kind of place you travel to another city for. With the number of times I've travelled up for the food, I can confirm, you have a regular that lives in London lol Zaap serves one of the most authentic, memorable, and mind-blowingly delicious Thai cuisine experiences in the U.K. The decor, especially the seating in tuktuks will give you a feel of eating in Bangkok! As for the food, you literally can't go wrong here. The starters are my favourite, particularly the fish cutlets and chicken and prawn fried gyoza. The Thai green curry is a firm favourite too, but again there is very little room to go wrong. Note - chicken is halal! If you're in for a friend's birthday, do tell the staff - you'll be in for a treat!!

Taste was amazing. Had braised duck in hoisin sauce . Couldve been a bit more tender but was flavoursome. Was above a bed of noodles i couldve had more off but im really nitpicking here. Also had the seafood spicy hotpot, classic thai taste, with level 3 chillies indicated next to it indicating it was v spicy, still left me desiring more spice. But i guess thats tailored to the local culture. Would go again

I've been here a couple of times, and thoroughly enjoyed it on both occasions. The food is always excellent, and there's a really good range to choose from too. The service is very friendly and welcoming. There's a great atmosphere here too, and I love tuk-tuk themed booths are fun - even if I do struggle to get my fat backside in and out of them!

I found myself at this wonderful place. They never fail to make a great impression! Every time we visit Nottingham, we end up coming back here. It's always a pleasant experience. Thank you!

Really great experience! We got there at 12.30pm and were seated immediately by friendly, welcoming staff. The food was absolutely brilliant! The pork belly was so incredible, we actually ordered a second plate of it. The staff were attentive and really helpful. Very highly recommend indeed!

Went to meet My Daughter in Notts for lunch, She suggested zaap. I have spent a bit of time on Thailand and loved the country, people and cuisine. Safe to say I wasn't disappointed.Will Def be back, thanks to the crew for great food and service 🤙

6 out of 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The food here is to die for! I highly recommend the garlic sour pork sausages to start, but be warned, you might have to order a second or third plate of them. I have tried many of the main dishes and I cannot recommend just one, though the noodle soups are a delight. For dessert, go for one of the sticky rice dishes (the mango goes nicely with it to counteract the sweetness). You will not be disappointed with anything you order. Aside from the food, the atmosphere is indulgent and realistic, coinciding with the noise of the kitchen to truly transport you to a busy street in Thailand's cities. The staff are amazing and deserve the most recognition of this entire review. They are friendly, inviting, helpful and are always happy to have a laugh with you. It has been several months since my previous visit and we were remembered - how fabulous!

This restaurant is very authentic and so Thai. The food is delicious, however, I do think they do use a bit of MSG which is not ideal to me personally. The atmosphere is giving Bangkok streetfood market.

I went last night with my friends for my first time. The decor inside was well thought out and it made you feel like you were in the hustle and bustle of a street in Thailand. We were lucky and got to sit in one of the Tuk Tuk booths. It was very busy but we didn’t have to wait long before our food arrived. We were served by Poppy who was so friendly and although she was here there and everywhere, she always had a smile on her face. The food was delicious, not overpriced and we didn’t feel like we were being rushed off our table at all. We got to have a great catch up with our friends in a great environment. I can’t wait to come back

Lovely staff and great atmosphere. The vibe in the restaurant is just brilliant and a great place for a nice meal and great fun. The food is nice and is basic Thai dishes at a reasonable price. I was disappointed by the spring rolls though so I wouldn't order them. I would definitely come back again.

Went there at night. We parked at the victoria centre and it is only 5 to 10 mins away from the restaurant. Lots of seats and staff greets you at the entrance and brings you to your seat. Great service and everyone is polite and gives us good recommendations. Will definitely go again 💯💯

Great food and experience, food is so nice and beautifully presented. We went as a large group and all meals came out together and hot!

Thai Cha is so niceeee and not expensive, Pad Thai is a bit too sweet but the green curry is quite good, it tastes a bit spicy but not too much, it goes well with chicken. However, I think the Bangkok platter doesn’t taste very good and not worth £16, but the Siu Mai inside is really nice. The mango sticky rice dessert is ok but the mango we had is not the good one, when we flip over, it looks black in the middle. Overall, the environment is so satisfying, it feels like you’re in the middle of Thailand street and there’s many options, literally a lot, we spent half an hour to study the menu. Next time, I’ll try the Tum Yum Soup!

Not authentic thai place, ambiences was stinking, Huge menu splatter but everything almost taste the same & Food is not good either. Over priced. I wont recommend unless u personally like something there, definitely not for vegetarians, chicken's Egg included as vegan choice.

I really love this place! My second visit to Zaap having found it by chance on a previous work visit. This time I made a point of finding it. I wouldn’t say I am adventurous but the food is lovely. I had coconut and chicken soup then beef red curry and finished off with battered banana. You can’t not really. The vibe and buzz about the place is brilliant and the staff are so lovely. Until my next business trip down here again, keep it up Zaap!

Had the most amazing meal here whilst away for my wife's birthday. The atmosphere was incredible as soon as we walked in, and our server was very attentive. I was also very surprised by both the quality of the food for the price, as well as how quickly they got the food out to us after ordering. Thank you for a lovely experience, we both hope to visit again in the future

I'm disappointed that Zaap have started to add an 'optional service charge' to their bill. This took the bill from £81.30 to £89.93 so maybe 11% at a rough guess. When did this begin? It has put me off going back. I've enjoyed taking friends & family there over the years. Surely one should tip if the service has been exceptional. It should not be added onto the bill to be discovered later.
