I don't understand the glowing praise - ordered 2 different ramen, both tepid, both far too salty, but expensive with an 'optional' service charge included that you would have to ask them to remove, and I'm sure they bank on people being too polite to do so, as we were. Distinctly average and not remotely like ramen in Japan (lived there 7 years), shouldn't even be called ramen IMO.

Believe the hype. I've been wanting to come here since Jay Rayner's review and then their appearance on Adam Richman Eats Football. Was lucky to get a seat overlooking the kitchen, it was fascinating to watch the craftsmen at work. Ordered the pickles, Shoyu ramen and then because the main was the most savoury thing I'd ever eaten, ordered a chocolate pudding to balance out the palate, which I pretty much never do. Service was excellent, the food was an explosion of flavour whichever dish you were eating, based on the popularity I think they may need a bigger restaurant in the not too distant future.

In terms of the quality of Japanese ramen in the UK, the overall style is above average and the taste is mainly pure. Although the price of the ramen seems to be a bit high, it is illegal for soy sauce ramen. It provides pork belly, barbecued pork and soft-boiled eggs. Everything you want is available, but be careful because there are many customers in the store. It is recommended to book a table before going.

My friends and I ordered tonkatsu, shio and shoyu ramen with crispy chicken skin on the side. I was surprised by the large bowl size. The broth was rich and the noodles were excellent. The restaurant had a unique atmosphere, similar to a modern American restaurant style. However, the service was quite slow.

The best ramen I have ever eaten!! This is nothing short of one of Nottingham’s best restaurants. It’s just tucked away on a side street, and doesn’t shout about how incredible the food is inside. The ramen is incomparable to any other in the city, or further afield. The flavours in each bowl are bold and confident, and the portions are so generous. I’ve been back so many times I’ve managed to try them all!! I’d also recommend a portion of the pickles to go alongside it- unlike other basic pickle dishes, each veggie is pickled in its own way and own flavours to compliment it. You don’t get that attention to detail anywhere else! I also love it because it’s just quick and it’s casual and friendly familiar service. I can go with a group of friends and sit in the open dining space, or by myself at the counter to watch the chefs work, but I always go to enjoy GOOD food. Never skip on Everyday People. I would recommend it time and time again.

I’m genuinely baffled by the glowing reviews for this establishment because my experience was nothing short of an absolute disaster. From the moment we arrived, it was a never-ending waiting game. An hour just to get a table, followed by another absurdly long wait just to place our orders, and then an agonizing 40-minute delay for food that wasn’t even remotely worth it. To top it all off, getting the bill took well over an hour because the servers seemed completely oblivious to our existence. And for what? Overpriced, low-quality ramen that I felt I could get from a local supermarket. The menu itself was depressingly sparse, offering little to no variety, making the entire experience feel like an overpriced scam. The atmosphere was equally underwhelming—zero energy, no warmth, no charm. It felt more like a waiting room than a restaurant. I left feeling disheartened, frustrated, unimpressed, and honestly a little cheated. If this is what passes for “highly rated,” I seriously question the standards of those who gave it good reviews.

An hour wait for the table, very few items on the menu, 40 minute wait at the table for lacklustre ramen, the place is hip, but student accommodation ramen after a few drinks, better off going elsewhere if you want a quality meal. (Undercooked wheat noodles, under seasoned broth, unevenly cooked egg, nicely cooked meat) Took 20 minutes to get the servers attention, clearly not on the ball with service, even for a Sunday, all tables weren’t seated. For the price, you can get pretty much buy all the ingredients and make a better product yourself at home, save your money and pass on this one.

Wow just wow, my fiance treated me to a last minute meal out. From the moment we came in it felt like we were coming to eat at a friend's understated but perfectly welcoming apartment (a highly trained chef/surgeon skilled friend at that). The hosts were wonderful with our first server giving a great run down of the simple but amazingly curated menu. Our main server Georgia was an absolute joy and made the experience all the more better. Sometimes when a rare 10 out of 10 dish is served, time seems to slow or stop entirely. When we tucked into the radish cake (which was described as the underdog of the menu) as I closed my eyes to enjoy it, time didnt just stop....time went backwards and as I opened them again I found myself wondering what year it was! A truly fabulous experience that everybody in Nottingham should enjoy. Beautiful Raman created by true artists with a balance of flavours that deserve the highest accolades. Superb through and through! Great service, great food, great atmosphere.

Great authentic Ramen spot in Nottingham- really like the decor and layout of this place including the subtle neons and open kitchen- a real gem of a place in amongst all the other generic bland spots in the city centre. Our server - Georgia - was courteous and friendly without being over attentive and knew just the right level of hospitality to ensure we were looked after but that we also enjoyed our meal Great beverage options here too- much better than lazily offering Asahi or some other generic brand- particularly enjoyed the Yuzu Lager Don't hesitate to pay a visit- oh... and don't sleep on the sides.

I had high hopes for this place after seeing this place on the internet, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. We waited over an hour for our food, hygiene was also a bit concerning, the baby chairs were being stored right next to the toilet in the disabled bathroom, which didn’t seem very sanitary and ladies toilet was blocked. Service was the biggest letdown. Our server (brunette) seemed to ignore us most of the evening, and when I asked for the service charge to be removed, she definitely heard me as she looked me in the eye when I said it and just left for a few minutes, came back and did not remove it, hoping we will not ask for receipt from our card, how cheeky!! Once I asked for it she started walking away and was ignoring me when i called her back, on a second attempt she came back and again no apology, I had to tell her to refund me for the service charge. What is this? Honestly this behaviour is so unprofessional and disgusting. As for the food, it was okay but not worth the wait. The Korean corn dog was cold, the tonkotsu ramen was overly salty, and the chicken ramen lacked flavor. The prawns were the one thing we liked, but it did not worth 1 hour wait.

Visited some months ago and it was five star, fantastic! Unfortunately, tonight standards had slipped, ramen noodles (tonkotsu) themselves were fine but broth and other items in the bowl were only just above warm. Quantity of broth itself was small, overall quite underwhelming for £17.50. Staff asked if it was ok - I was going to feedback but they asked and left so quickly that I had no chance to respond. Feeling sad because first time was so good, but on tonight's experience I won't be going again. Two minor gripes - customers kept on entering via back door (by toilet) meaning we frequently had persons hanging right over us; also chopsticks are quality but single use, what does that say about sustainability??

Loved everything! Great atmosphere, lovely staff, friendly customers…and, as for the food, brilliant. Ramen is a favourite thing and this meal satisfied my ramen needs. I had Tantanmen vegan dish with seaweed and beetroot in vinegar snack. The server described the dish as “spicy”, but I was delighted to hear afterwards that I could request more chilli oil next time. However, no complaints, the dish was beautifully arranged and delicious. The vibe is relaxed and we were left peacefully to relax after our meal, before requesting the bill. We also chatted to the server, who communicated their genuine enthusiasm for the food and restaurant. I like that. £16 for lunch ramen and snack…can’t say fairer than that. Will be back and have already recommended to others.

Unfortunately another rather disappointing ramen hunt… the soup was too salty, while it’s quite rich you can tell it’s not the kind of authentic pork bone soup that’s been slow cooked for over 10 hours to extract the essence of ingredients. The noodle portion was also on the small side, especially considering the price point £16.50, which is even more expensive than Kanada-ya (the best ramen in this country imho) that locates in central London… On the other hand, their eggs were nicely marinated, and while they don’t make Japanese Char Siu the pork belly slices were seasoned well with an aromatic charcoal finish. Noodles felt fresh although I prefer slightly more texture.

Caveat to this review is that we went on the first day of a new menu just after Christmas, during a very busy period. The food was overall very good. The okonomiyaki brussels sprouts were delicious. The chicken katsu and beef cheek were amazing - really well cooked, tender, and flavourful, with big portion sizes. The vegetable katsu was ok, and while well cooked and generously portioned was quite bland. Service was good but quite slow. Our food took nearly an hour to come out because of some issues with kitchen equipment, but our server was attentive and very apologetic. The restaurant was very cold, and lots of people had coats on while sat down. Other than that very nice.

The cooking of the noodles was perfect. I recommend making a reservation in advance since it is a very busy place. Staff are very friendly. Food is alright but the ramen is slightly too salty in my opinion, makes it hard to finish the soup even after eating all the noodles and meat/veggies. It also gets loud in there because it’s a popular place so beware of that! Interior decor is lovely though. My main problem with this place is that the prices are too steep in my opinion. 16£ for a regular-sized bowl of ramen along with 12% service charge that automatically gets added is a bit too much for what you’re getting. Also saw the price of 8£ just for 1 small corn dog is not worth it at all especially when there’s another store in town that does a better/bigger corn dog for half the price. If you don’t mind splurging then come here for a special day!

6 stars for everything - its gets better and better and better. I have visited about 8 or so times now and this restaurant keeps improving particularly the broth. The menu has some amazing starters including the signature corn dog. The prawn crackers are superb and very different from what one gets in traditional Chinese take aways. These are huge and thick and made from different ingredients. Starters I always go for the pickles as these are piquant and also very healthy. The ramen here if of course, the star of the show and there are always special options on the board to check as well as the menu. I have tried the dry ramen but the ones with broth are superior in my opinion. Their tonkotsu- a pork bone broth- is layered with oils and is sublime. The shoyu is also highly tasty. Don't be put off by the vegan one - the broth on that is probably the best flavoured you might find. Staff are always really friendly and well trained and the place is spotlessly clean. Great range of saki and beers too which are very different like rice lager. This is a lively and popular place so booking is generally advised.

What a groovy little place! Came here for food before a gig a couple of weeks ago and it was such a lovely experience. All of the flavours were beautifully thought out. We had the crispy chicken skin which had a great crunch and a small kick, they were like elevated pork cracklings The ramen bowls were incredible, the flavours in the broths were so unique. The Shio bowl had an incredible citrus undertone, and was perfectly rich and had so much depth. The brothless duck dish (the name escapes me) was stunning, duck breast and crispy duck leg, with an egg yolk and noodles + various vegetables, this was so rich and creamy, and I liked that it required you to vigorously stir it to make the most of it! The drinks on offer were amazing, unfortunately they were out of the negroni on offer, however the other drinks were nicely curated, the mikkeller Rice Lager was very tasty. However the Apple Everyday was amazing, creamy strawberry foam on top and a tart apple cocktail beneath, really unique. All in all an amazing experience and really elevated our trip to Nottingham, service was lovely and we would come back if we were ever here again.

Firstly there were the Japanese pickles, crunchy carrots, spring onions in soy, mooli and unctuous cucumber. The main event was a comforting broth with noodles, courgette, edemame, pak Choi and a boiled egg. Superb and really well balanced. To finish was a citrusy digestif. This place is amazing. I went here today my 3rd time. It's that good, I had to go back. I took my my friend who had never been. We shared the starters of the prawn toast and some of this fried squash thingy. Both were amazing. But I have to say the Prawn toast was one of the best things we've ever had. Its like the prawn is injected into the bread. Literally amazing. It's spongy, and soft. I have never really eaten anything like it. The Ramens are the best in the Nottingham. I'm not a Vegan but I had the Vegan choice because I'm a massive mushroom fam. It's unreal. My mate had the belly of pork one. He said it was next level. I can't say because he would not let me share. But all in all this is the king of Ramen. Love it. I have to add the beer choice is quality too. Rice lager beer really complements all the food. Booom.

So I have been making homemade broths/ Dashi for Ramen for some years now.. it's extremely difficult I'm very time consuming so I hold a lot of respect for what I have eaten today the broths were very complex with a deep flavour profile. I was extremely impressed with the tan tan ramen exploding with that unami flavour.. probably one of the best marinated eggs I have had! The noodles were cooked perfectly still had the perfect amount of chew.. Never had a Korean corn dog before and that was fantastic highly recommend and the service was spot on.. also the homemade apple lemonade was brilliant.. hats off to you chaps

AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. What an awful place to try and eat. The sound bouncing off the hard surfaces makes it impossible to think, let alone hear. I thought that the whole point of eating out was to be social, not here. A complete waste of time and money. With so many places to eat out in Nottingham I’d avoid here at all costs. It’s not for people with ADHD/autism or those with hearing aids, or people over 25. They really should put an advisory on the door. Head over to the restaurant next door as that place is always effortlessly delicious or the Japanese place on Carlton road. Also, isn’t it time in this multi-gendered age to train your staff to address people in a more inclusive way other than the patriarchal ‘guys’? The food may have been nice but I’ve never gobbled anything up so fast as to exit the place as quick as possible. Oh no I remember now, the ‘tender’ pork could just about be torn apart with teeth and hands working furiously. As I say there are better places with more welcoming interiors than everyday people.

It’s not everyday it’s your birthday, so where do you go to celebrate? Everyday People of course (or so I thought). I ordered the Shoyu; whilst the meat was delectable, the broth was a bit too salty and I found my arteries begging me to stop halfway through. Unfortunately that wasn’t the only body part begging for mercy that night…As this is a food review and I imagine whoever is reading this is famished, I will spare you the details but let’s say the food came out as quickly as it went in…The service was decent, and our waiter was friendly, however despite being a hopeless ramen-tic, this place fell shio-rt of my expectations.

Excellent quality food. Amazing flavours. My wife had the tonkotsu and I had the Laksa. The Laksa was loaded with scallops and mussels which was lovely. Normally you find one or two of each. We also had the beef tartare sharing starter and would recommend this to anyone. Service was excellent and very friendly. Will definitely be returning.

Honestly one of the most memorable and enjoyable meals I’ve ever had. Crazy taste combinations that just all worked. Big shout out to the beef tartare and chicken skin. Can’t wait to go again!

The best ramen you will find in Nottingham! Even though the menus aren’t that clear (and could really do with some photos being added!) the food is amazing. Hands down, a must try! 🍜

One of the best ramen I’ve had! I was only in Nottingham for a night for work and I’m so glad I chose to eat here! Staff were really friendly and the whole vibe was just very chill and lovely. I had the mushroom vegan ramen and it was soooooo tasty! Will absolutely be going back if I visit Nottingham again 💞

As an Asian i wouldn't say the food here is authentic (which is why you don't see any Asian customers there😂), but it’s “customised” alright! Ingredients they used are fresh and good quality which could be the best selling point, but some dishes is a bit disappointing- Tan Tan noddle is nothing like real Tan tan noddle and way too salty. Price is much higher than it should be. Good customer service tho, which is the reason I’ll give a 4/5

Hadn't been before but of course it had been reviewed by a national critic so off we went to see for ourselves. Brilliant food with open kitchen and vibrant - would highly, highly recommend.

I came here with two of my mates and we were not disappointed! Such friendly staff and the food…. WOW! Fresh, hot, perfect amount of spice, and so flavourful. We wanted to try something different and as someone who isn’t familiar with Korean food i still had a nostalgic feeling eating the food feeling like it was a home cooked meal made with love. And the price was very reasonable ! We will be back!

Came here for my partners birthday in December, was a little slow on service but despite that it was more than enough. Very welcoming.
