Royal Tandoori Indian Restaurant & Takeaway in Corby

Terrible experience. I ordered a meal for 4, with 2 people being vegetarian ordering two vegetable dishes to share through Royal Tandoori website. I collected the food and once home to my family members shock there was chicken in the vegetarian biriyani. I called to resolve with the restaurant for at least a 50% refund for half the order which should have been vegetarian and they refused only offering one dish refund which wasn’t acceptable as I would have to drive back 10 mile trip for only £8!! They then proceeded to hang up on me no longer offering a refund at all. I would NOT recommend this restaurant or staff. God forbid this was an allergy.

Had a family meal and was incredible! The service was top notch and the food was superb! There was so much choice and everything was so delicious! Thank you!

We happened to stop overnight in Corby and saw the Royal Tandoori as we headed to our hotel. What a brilliant find! Our waiter, Dee, was friendly, welcoming, attentive without being intrusive - in short: the perfect host. The menu had plenty of choices: the classics and some interesting additions, and the food was uncommonly good. No fat or oil. Beautifully presented. Delicious top quality ingredients. Oh how we wish that we lived nearer to Corby, as this would be hands down our regular destination. Strongly recommended.

had to wait for 2 hours after ordering, when called was told that i had just ordered even though the app showed over a hour, food was ok but have had better

Called restaurant to complain that food had not arrived having waited an hour and a half for delivery. The staff assured me it had already gone out for delivery. Driver arrived 31 mins after the phone call and so two hours after the order was placed. I rejected the food as my husband went to McDonalds! waiting for a refund.

Not going to lie but i have had issues in the past but the chicken taza that was delivered tonight was fantastic , good portion packed with flavour

Thank you for a delightful dinner at your establishment! Amazing pickle tray with poppadoms, paneer chilli (wow!) and chicken pakora to start, chicken vindaloo and chicken dhansak for mains... some of the best Asian food we've had in a long time! The man who served us was an absolute delight, so kind and attentive! Thank you for a wonderful dinner, we were very full and very happy after dining with you!

Really disappointed with our order tonight. Royal tandoori used to be one of the best restraints, but the food has really gone down hill, it was an expensive, bland greasy meal.

I have tried a few Indians in Corby and this is by far the best. The lamb biryani was so flavourful and tender. Everything was very well seasoned and would order again!

The food was lovely and plated very well and the drinks were really good too! I'd recommend the Shilpa mocktail. The service was really good, and handtowels are provided after the meal, which are a really nice touch! And all the food is halal!

Spent a lovely evening with the family at Royal and it was exceptional to say the least. Some of the tastiest curries I’ve ever had accompanied with the best service. Will be returning for sure!

Portion sizes smaller & smaller. I have had set meal three times. The difference is collosil. Three different size of Royal Tandouri bags. The prices are higher the standard & quantity very much lower. I am really disappointed. The Naan the came with the order was undercooked. Most of the meal was binned. I know the cost of living has gone up but I use takeaways as a treat. Doubt very much if I will be using this takeaway again. I was comparing the meal to the three times I ordered. Set meal for two. First time got a large bag of food. Meaty, chicken, prawns in equal portion to veg & potatoes. Second time bag slightly smaller, meat content less. Third time, very small bag, plus ordered extra potato, everything fitted into this small bag. Two bits of beef. Chicken possibly 4 small bits. So to answer your comments, I am comparing it to yourselves. At one time the Royal Tandouri was a safe bet portion wise not just all veg. Very good for meat/chicken/prawn content. Didn't mind paying it used to be worth it. Not now. I really did feel ripped off. I stay on RavensCourt. It is close by. I used to order from the Pytchley Court Shop when I stayed in the area.

Delicious food & generous portions, everything was nicely marinated and packed in flavour, thanks for the fantastic food. We will be ordering again next week 😊

Takeaway. Food was so delicious. So much flavour. Huge portion, well worth the money. Delivery was prompt and good was jot when it arrived. Really happy and will be ordering again.

Asked for no onions in the vegetable korma and it was packed with them, dish couldn't be eaten. Chicken had an incredibly salty aftertaste in the other korma. was not a great meal like I remember they used to be.

Second takeaway from here, this one as bad as the first, I asked for medium curry and it’s tasteless not the slightest hint of chilli, the two chicken madras that should be quite spicy they were not at all, just very salty, samosas were very small and looked shop bought again quite tasteless. For £52 when most of it was not eaten is not good, won’t be using again

how else can you describe excellent . literally everything we ordered was perfect . I still think sitting in is better but that's something we aren't able to do very often . thankyou to all the staff for making our occasional treat excellent! we look forward to the next order and especially the next restaurant visit . also thankyou for sending out menus in the post to us it's much appreciated ..

Really disappointed, tried for the first time after hearing good things, but we won’t be back. No flavour in most of the meals, lamb was dry, chicken was bland, sauces had opened in the bag and gone everywhere.

Over 2 hours late and the food was cold!!!! Tried numerous times to cancel but 'user busy', was an absolute joke!! 😡

Ordered food for the first time (and last time)today 23/2/2024. It was cold and bland food. And definitely not worth £45! I’d give it zero if it was an option! *Edit* 12 hours later. Had the worst bout of food poisoning I’ve ever had! It’s now the 26th and I’m having to take time off work as a result! If I can save just one person going through this it’s worth it! DON’T GO ANYWHERE NEAR THEM!!!!!

food was lovely but found out after it arrived that we would have received a better deal, with CHEAPER delivery by ordering directly with the restaurant! orders over £40 should receive several free items but this wasn't fulfilled as I ordered through Just Eat. what's the point? next time I'll just order directly!!!!

Birthday meal with friends and family. 8 of us. Extremely well looked after. Absolutely superb food. (Best Tikka Masala EVER). Chef is a genius. We left the restaurant happy and stuffed! We all would recommend this to anyone. No alcohol served but this didn't matter at all. Lovely alcohol free Pina Coladas! Decent cup of tea too! Terrific value .Will definitely go again and again...!

ordered food through just eat. cost me £60, arrived and had nothing extra you get from spending over £40. usually my daughter has the bombay potato it's all she likes and the poppadoms everyone likes. phoned up to check about this and got put on hold. the young girl then told us you don't get the extras when ordering through just eat. this isn't stated ANYWHERE, I feel I was just lied to because it was busy because they sent out mango chutney and other condiments 😂

I took my family for a valentine evening meal, the staff did not disappoint us. From entering the restaurant we were remembered, recognised and warmly welcomed. I thoroughly enjoyed this evening and love the staff. I wont hesitate to return soon.

The curry’s were so bland had no flavour at all, the naan bread was soggy as were the chips. The garlic chilli had no chilli in what so ever, was asked for it to be not too spicy however it had no spice or flavour

Lamb was tough. My fault probably. I should have stayed on piste with chicken.

Came for a meal on New year's day with friends, wat a great find, food was absolutely amazing full of flavours all fresh, on top of that the service was seconds to none and the young lad made us feel very welcoming. Look forward to our next visit. Thanks Dee and team

Ordered Curry and a 1.5L of drink. Drink did not shows up until next day and still you pay for 1.5L and you are getting 1.25L... Thank you but will not order again

What an absolute waste of money. I hope you read this Taste, Of, Chilli and I'll ashamed, sliced chicken chicken Tikka I would say tiny cubes of chicken slightly Tikka ? I need to tell you that salad consist of tomato, cucumber, onion and lettuce and maybe red onion. Oh you gave me was a very slight bed. There was nothing in it. I'm sure you must be running out of garlic sauce because you put a dribble on it disgusting I hope everybody reads this and you close down. I am so angry I had to go and buy chips to go with it to make it up for a meal it was so small

Food was very bland overall, lacked flavour and spice. The meat wasn’t fresh , especially the dry chewy lamb. Very disappointed.

Probably the best Indian food in Corby. Meal was slightly late, but not by much. Will be ordering from here again.

the chicken in my curry was disgusting,couldn’t even be described as chicken it was so processed and had the texture of a sponge,my curry was freezing also and my Bombay potatoes had no taste whatsoever and also freezing cold

Great indian restaurant, great food and service. Well worth a visit, especially if you're a Newcastle United fan. Anwar the owners son ,what a passionate Newcastle supporter as are my son and brother in law . They all had a good crack about NUFC. The food was very good and plenty of it, reasonably priced, didn't have to wait to long once ordered. Next time we are in Corby we will definitely visit again.

I don't often write reviews but the Royal Tandoori deserve a good word on trip advisor. Lovely air conditioned restaurant. Poppadoms and lovely variety of pickles. Sharing starter for two, which was so incredibly tasty. Main courses were the tastiest Indian meal I've ever eaten. Very pleasant staff who we chatted with and had a laugh with. Wish the Royal Tandoori every success for the future. I did plan to take photographs of each course but in my eagerness to start my meal I forgot.

Lovely staff very helpful and accommodating, we had a 40th birthday meal there and the staff helped with everything we needed the food is fresh and beautiful and lovely atmosphere.

Visited the Royal Tandoori with my family, lovely location, superb staff and amazing food with something to suit everyone, food portions were great. The chef did amazing, the rice was lovely and nan was super soft the currys were mouth watering and at great prices, very high level of table service and a nice calm atmosphere 😀 we had a Wonderful evening and the children loved the tremendous food. I thoroughly recommend a visit. Thank you to the young lad (waiter) and Rocky for the amazing table service. Will definitely be coming back.

Made the decision to go to Royal Tandoori this morning. A message was sent via Facebook..pleased to get reply. We got there for 5.15pm. Taken to our table we had poppadoms and chutney tray..loved the chilli chutney! My son loved the yogurt dip! We started with a shared platter starter, tasted great! For mains, I had the House special biryani, my sister had a tandoori chicken biryani, it was delicious full of spice came with a mouth watering chicken bhoona, our boys had chicken tikka mossalla, chips rice and dhaal. We all loved our food, so stuffed took the rest home! Thank you for looking after us..ice cream went down well..my son asked if he could go again! (Sorry about the spillage)

Ordered while travelling on way home. Got a call it was at door 45 mins early but luckily we were only 3 streets away. Food was still warm and delicious when retrieved from doorstep

Today order placed at 17:40 for 19:15 delivery repeatedly attempted to ring to check on delivery at 19:45 but they turned their phones off. Had to drive to the restaurant at 20:00 to demand a refund and I got them to check our food hadn’t even been cooked! Now we have to wait 21 days for the refund. Every time we’ve ordered with them this year there is always issues with either delivery or food missing, such a shame they used to be good but now they don’t seem to care about what they are doing. Customer of many years will not return, apparently the manager will call me to rectify but wouldn’t actually talk to me while I was in the restaurant!

Two of us stopped for a meal after seeing a film at the Savoy. It was a Tuesday and very quiet. The hosts were lovely - extremely friendly and attentive, even letting us take away dishes of their home made yoghurt and red onion pickles - they were so good! The food was fantastic especially the dopiaza and the sag paneer which was deliciously creamy. The Bombay potato was a little bland and could use some extra spice, maybe more onions or tomato. Other than that, a perfect dinner at a good price.

We always go to different restaurants never known any restaurant in Manchester that wont give you tap water it's my first time here. Absolutely ridiculous you cant order tap water at this Royal Tandoori. Were from Liverpool 1st time coming to this area today saw this tandoori place. Bottled water for £2.50 375ml as a principle wont pay for that Thank god were not from this area...place is ok Corby... sad part you have to pay for water. The English waitress was lovely shes local. Thankfully the English waitress was very polite/mannered and guy at last gave a glass. She redeemed the whole experience. Food wasn't great was normal but will you go back ? BIG NO I wont.

Lovely grub. Good portions & quality, Bhanjaud. No Alcohol, don't matter. If you enjoy good food. Gorha. . If you like really hot currie. Try The Abu Hamza Vindaloo. Or Soor Bhuna.

Ordered a takeaway via their website. Ordered confirmed and tracking available online to track the confirmation, preparation and delivery. Stated delivery at 6.17pm and counted down to the driver arriving at my property. Once the count down reached zero we had no food and the website stuck. Then at 18.50 it stated order delivered and thanks for your order. No food - I called and they immediately confirmed my address and put me on hold. Came back and told me it hadn't even been cooked let alone sent. At least another 25 minutes- at this point pointless as my daughter has to go to bed! Happy mothers day to me..... thanks alot. Won't be dining here again - didn't even care that they had let me down.

Nearly 20 minutes late and cold !

I got my order last week on Saturday and the chips were very cold. The chicken tikka masala wasn’t very nice.
