Food wasn’t great for the price. Rice was an extra £4.99 to add on to an already expensive curry, so I didn’t order a curry out of principle. I asked the server if an item was vegetarian and they didn’t know, I also asked if soya was tofu and he was not able to answer me so I had to look it up. Experience was mediocre at best.

I booked a table with the intention of eating in the restaurant area but, due to a private function, we had to eat in low informal chairs and tables in the lounge area. Also the music was too loud. Not impressed! This layout maybe ok for snacks and sandwiches etc but not for a gourmet 3 course meal! The food was very good but I would think twice before booking again!

Terrible place; dangerous food. Only need to look at the below review of completely raw chicken served to a child to assure you to NEVER visit - and the response of basically “oh sorry we’ll have a chat with the staff” tells you all you need to know about their priorities and how seriously they take the (numerous) reported cases of food poisoning, particularly with chicken based meals. Couldn’t pay me to return.

It's an upmarket steak house, and we shouldn't have tried to fashion an Izakaya meal out of the Japanese influenced starters and small sharing plates. Food was presented in a pretty, if prententious, style but actually missing the variety and creativity typical of Japanese bar food. Portions were tiny, relative to price. But maybe the portion size is appropriate if you are eating a big steak afterwards. Our enjoyment of the evening was somewhat dimmed by our main waiter, who encouraged us to order too much, which we later had to cancel as it became apparent there was too much food was arriving. He also refused to order us a cab after dinner. Other serving staff were fine. Two miniscule pieces of bread with good miso butter and green kimchi was the first to arrive. I liked the miso butter which tasted also of nori but the unnaturally green pickled cabbage was nothing special in terms of taste. This was followed by tuna tartare and hamachi avocado tacos. The hamachi was too tart and the tuna tartare was just okay. The freshness and subtlety of raw tuna was masked by a lot of mayo. The taco shells were tiny, maybe 3 inches in diameter and deep fried The beef tataki was not seared as expected, more a carpacio. A seared tataki would have provided better contrast to the raw fish tacos. It was tasty and well balanced in terms of texture and flavours, though a little ostentatious looking being a very small serving on a very large plate. They brought us a serving of wagyu beef tacos, which we didn't order, and these were the best tacos of the bunch. Mushrooms gyozas were flavourful but rather greasy being deep fried rather than pan seared as expected. For dessert, I had the white chocolate panacotta with apple jelly which looked pretty but tasted meh. Shards of meringue offered textural contrast but the dish cried out for a touch of bright acidity or bitterness. Maybe some slivers of candied yuzu peel? The cheapest house red is £40. A light dinner for two was £116. It's a pretty space with subdued lighting and background music and good acoustics. This is probably a place to stick to the steak.
