Miller & Carter Milton Keynes in Milton Keynes

First the positives. The manager was extremely good at dealing with the numerous issues that we encountered. He went above and beyond. The issues were: Drinks order taken. There was a delay in the waitress coming back to take our food order. A good 15 minutes passed before I ask another waiter if we could order our food and that we were still waiting for our drinks and he said he would get our waitress. She came over and said the drinks were on their way and took our food order. We continued to wait for our drinks when the starter for my son arrived. My husband went to the bar to ask about the drinks and it appeared our order had been lost. They sorted this out. We were then waiting for our mains. By this point, we had been in the restaurant just over an hour. Three other tables who had arrived after us were all having their meals already. I then went to speak to the manager who was aware of the missing drinks problem and he assured me the mains would not be long. When they arrived, two of the steaks were perfect. My ribeye, which I had asked for medium rare, was overcooked and dry. My husband went to speak to the manager who came over to apologise and agreed that the steak was indeed overcooked and offered to replace it. It came just as my son and husband had finished their meals. The steak was OK but had quie a bit of sinew running through the middle so I left about a third of it. We asked for the bill. The manager came over with it and apologised again and had given us a generous reduction as he had also noticed that I had left quite a bit of the second steak (this impressed me as he had obviously asked to be notified or kept an eye on it himself as I had not made any mention of it when my plate was cleared). We said we appreciated the gesture as our complaints were not made to try and get money off, but to highlight the issues. My husband had told him we were there to celebrate my birthday, and it hadn't gone well. Upon leaving, the manager presented me with a bottle of wine and said he hoped it would in some small way compensate and that I could enjoy it to finish off my birthday. This was very much appreciated.

After our bad experience with Harvester across the road. We were greeted by the host, but more importantly, the young man behind the bar , said hello someone will be with you shortly. Lovely place to eat..

Served by Kasia on our visit today, she was attentive and really lovely throughout the whole evening. We couldn't of asked for more from our server. Lovely food, couldn't fault our experience at Miller & Carter!

Had a wonderful birthday lunch with the family. Value of set menu is excellent and service by Ula was wonderful, she couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Thank you.

We were greated by a friendly gentleman who showed us out booked table. First thing I saw was dirty fork on the floor under my seat. The waitress at the begining was nice and very attentive. By the 7p.m. she was keep coming to the table every 5minutes to ask if we were done.... I know its busy but if there is food and wine she shouldn't be back to the table at that frequency. Then by the end when we where done we asked her for bill. She started to be very friendly and in front of my partner started to call me "darling". When she brought bill she left a note on receipt which is inappropriate! And when she came with card reader in front of my girlfriend she said "there you go my love"... that was too much. Will never come back to that place

Stayed at the travel lodge next door to the Resturant. So called in to book a table . Service was very good Ellie the waitress was very nice and pleasent,Quick service and the food we had was very good.

Having sharing platters on table for 4 the tables are far too small to manage everything

The restaurant in itself was nice and cosy, the waiter was also very pleasant, and provided a great service. However, the food was not hot and the chips were not seasoned. There was no taste as usually there is. I would not recommend this restaurant or visit it myself again. My husband used the toilets which he said were awful, toilet paper all over the floor and very dirty.

Fantastic place. Been loads of times since it changed to miller carter. Service is great and food always top class. Would highly recommend this miller carter than others around

Large family booking on Easter Sunday - did not disappoint. Leisurely pace so did not feel rushed Nigel our server was very attentive without being pushy, very patient with out two younger family members.

Over priced, over rated, service quiet slow went for my nephews 18th was sat on 2 separate tables would have been nice to be sat on a long table together. Pie was burnt so returned & everyone else had finished eating when i received my replacement no reduction in the bill was given.

Was my first time, and loved it. Food fantastic drinks so tasty, I couldn't fault and Kristin our waitress was amazing so bubbly and friendly. I will definitely come back!

Amazing food and Sean really made the experience with outstanding service!

Sean was amazing! I felt the experience was great he was so warm and comforting. He made our anniversary special and made us a chocolate and raspberry board it was a lovely touch.

The exterior is in need of some tlc The food and service was great - i will say the young man food running needs to find his voice - he seemed very shy and we all fund him hard to hear when he was asking where to place each meal- made it quite stressful- drinks were lovely

Amazing food. On more than one occasion I have had a steak here now and they always melt in your mouth. Service was friendly and in good time considering the number of people there. Didn't feel crowded or rushed. Will definitely be going again. Nice quiet location away from mk town centre with many free parking spaces.

Not in my area, visiting it. Been twice & the food was very good , but what made the 2nd visit memorable was Kristin our waitress. The most engaging table attendant we have had in many a long time. Well done.

Really poor quality food tiny over cooked chicken wings , gristly t bone steaks and poor sea bass fillets not worth the money we spent. there is a lot more restaurants out there with much better quality and value.

Shaun At miller and Carter in Shenley was amazing at being our waiter really friendly and made us feel really welcomed. He was always checking on us and making sure our food was good.

The food was all really good. However, we felt let down by you having 4 separate servers for us over the course of the evening. It’s so much nicer, friendlier, and more memorable if we just have the one person who takes our order, delivers the food, gets our drinks, and clears up

Had dinner with family at this restaurant and loved it. We had a booking and were ushered to our sits as soon as we arrived. Our waiter was very professional and suggested some of the dishes we ate. Look out for Richard. He is awesome and loves his job. He made us feel very welcome. The food was very tasty and he suggested the right pairing to wines and we all enjoyed our dinner at this resturant. We intend to return more regular and this is one resturant you don’t want to miss when you visit Milton Keynes.

Went out with friends. I wanted vegetarian dish. All out of stock apart from 1 dish that i didnt really fancy. Ended up ordering... but didnt taste that great. Friends were pleased with there food... but i have to mark down due me mine not being great and for not having a variety of vegetarian dishes... i know i shouldnt of gone to a steak house if im i want a veggie dish but that means lossing out of a social event with friends 😔 lady serving us was nice and very polite.

Been here numerous times. The food is always good and the steaks are highly recommended. During busy times it can be a bit chaotic also with children running about so, if you are looking for a quiet, romantic meal, best to avoid the busy times. Service is generally always good, however it can be lacking and slow if it’s busy. Kristen (waitress) is excellent and probably one of the most helpful and entertaining Waitresses we’ve ever met. The premises is a bit careworn and could do with a makeover. Miller and Carter is a national brand and the venues/ service can vary. Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.

Had three meals two fillet steaks medium well both had blood coming out of the so did not eat them . Burger meal was fine. starters and deserts was very nice.

The veg was a little greasy and I feel the butter cubes would be better on the side to add to veg/steak if it is wanted. Sean was an excellent waiter. Attentive, humorous and helpful. Not pushy at all and was nice to see someone serving where their personality shone through! Thanks for making it a pleasant experience.

Took advantage of the Treat menu which has 2 courses for £22 which is good value in my opinion.the 7oz rump steak was cooked to perfection and delicious.Looked after by Nigel who did a great job,very pleasant chap who made it an overall very pleasurable lunch experience for us.

SEAN!! What a Legend! Great evening. Arrived without booking but seated in 5 min. Restaurant was very busy but Sean and his colleagues were very attentive and the food was great. All round fantastic experience!!

Other than the table across from us shouting and swearing. Everything was on point. From being to end Sean was an exceptional server. Very clear and professional with a great sense of humour. Brilliant evening, lovely food, great service and good atmosphere

One job ... a steak house, cook the perfect steak. Well this place got 2 steaks wrong. Both ordered Medium Rib eye. One got rare and one got medium rare. The venue is never full. They seat you together in the middle bit. The floor was dirty, the mirrors and glass areas were smeared and had finger prints all over. There were these pointless oil lamps on tables. None were lit. A total waste of space. Had a table booked and lots of tables made up but the front of house spent 5 minutes clearing a table right next to someone else. There were plenty of tables already to go but no, wipe down one directly next to other people in a restaurant mostly empty. No salt / pepper nor drinks menu put on our table. We were deliberately given the main menu and I had to ask specifically for the Rare Treats menu. Starters were ok. Nachos were soggy. Why load toppings on tortillas ? Arranging the nachos around toppings would have prevented this issue. MAINS , as detailed, poorly cooked. My steak was like rubber. The lettuce wedge is a pretentious fad , the stilton was good but the mayo smeared all over it was tart in taste and did not go with the meal whatsoever. The onion loaf was foul. A greasy pile of onions trying to mimic some kind of unseasoned onion bhaji or hash brown without potato. Vile! The seasoned fries were ok. I was complimented a dessert, which was ok, sticky toffee pudding.Basic and outstanding how they manage to pack so many calories into it! The waiter was great, no issues with his work but the food served was below par. The restaurant felt dated, dirty and absolutely the managenent were not adhering to their own policy. Most people in there were wearing very casual clothes. I won't be in a rush to visit any Miller & Carter.

The bartender was lovely and very professional, servers and hots were super friendly and it was an overall calming and nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend it for other people.

Our waiter Nigel was great because he looked after me! I have food intolerances and it can sometimes take the shine off going out for a meal trying to get someone to understand what I can and cannot have! Not yesterday! We both had a lovely meal. And I was able to have a pud which seldom happens being gluten & dairy intolerant! Thank you to the team.
