Came here for my 20th birthday and it was perfect great food as always and amazing service by Richard. Would highly recommend.

Great food and service. Sharon was our waitress very helpful and friendly. Try the lemon tart unbelievable Will visit again for sure.

We had not booked but were welcomed by a member of staff who quickly showed us to our table. It was quiet and peaceful exactly as we asked. Our waitress Kristin was delightful and we soon had drinks and water. We have very small appetites and so we asked to share a starter and a main. It was easily achieved. Later we shared a dessert. The meal was tasty, hot and plentiful. Even taking into account the fact that we were sharing, we were replete. Overall a good experience. Thankyou Kristin and other staff.

I will start off by saying the food we had was very good (desserts unavailable and creme brûlée inedible but sent back no problem) The waitress was lovely very attentive and couldn’t fault her! The front of house female was just awful, we queried sitting in the overflow bit as we booked weeks ago, she said that’s all we have and if you wanted the main restaurant you should of put that on your booking, I said so it’s my fault then, well that was like a red rag to a bull she completely flipped and said she will eject me from the restaurant if I keep being rude as she won’t want her staff to serve me, so I had to go with it as we had a birthday voucher that needed using, she sat us down and I spoke to a nice young manager who apologised for her and offered us a free drink! Her demeanour was extremely unprofessional and she clearly needs a few lessons in hospitality, I watched her bringing people to the tables etc and she looked miserable and clearly doesn’t enjoy her job, we have been coming here since it opened and we have never sat in the overflow bit which is why we were surprised, common decency was all it needed not the defensive rude tone we encountered! The manager and waitress were really good but sadly we won’t be coming back here.

Prawn and avacado cocktail, just 8 tiny prawns, bought the wrong steak, brownie rock hard and then desert we never ordered added to the bill. Not want you want after really slow service. Harvester is a better bet imho.

Superb experience as always from Miller & Carter. 2nd time myself and my wife have been to this one, really nice atmosphere here. Both times we have been served by the superb Angelica, who is a credit to the company. The best waitress ever. Angelica instantly recognsed us from our first visit and there was almost a 3 month gap if not more between the visits. How many waitresses would recognise again?. Very knowledgable, helpful, polite and pleasant. This is now our go to Miller. Thank you Angelca. Mr & Mrs Simmonds.

Always get a really nice meal in this restaurant. The staff are always friendly and can't do enough to make you feel relaxed. Would recommend this restaurant for either a lunch time or an evening meal..

The service at miller and carter shenley is always amazing and topped by the amazing food, the staff always make you feel welcome and nothing is ever an issue and will always try to accommodate my needs.

Visited on a Sunday early afternoon. Fairly busy but not to the point it slowed down service. We were seen to right away by Angelica who was probably the best waitress we’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Her conversation, recommendations etc were all amazing, a true asset to your team! Back to the food. Everything was cooked to perfection and if we could bottle that beef dripping sauce, that would be amazing! Steak cooked perfectly medium as requested. The sharing dessert was also very tasty and very naughty! Guinness was well kept, lovely pint! All in all, a 10/10 visit. The Sunday menu is great value for money!

Great food as always however our experience this time around was made so much more enjoyable by our waiter Sean, who was very friendly and attentive. He's a true credit to the team there.

Lovely lunchtime meal. Everything we had (3 steaks and a lamb rump) was cooked beautifully to our taste. We took a long time to choose what we wanted as we hadn’t been to the restaurant for quite a long time. This didn’t seem to be a problem and Corey was very patient with us. Our drinks arrived promptly and we enjoyed the occasion. There wasn’t much atmosphere due to the restaurant being very quiet but we had a lovely time. Thank you.

Nice staff with attentive service, but an uninspiring menu for the price. Small, yet nicely cooked steaks. I cant work out what the huge chunk of lettuce "wedge" is all about. Cold chips. It really is chain pub stuff. If you like chain pubs, then its the place for you.

Lived the service and the food.

Waited far to long for food considering the restaurant was empty, was recommended to order a different steak as it would be quicker to cook only to be told 1hr later that it wasn't available and would we like our original choice,so we are 1hr in and they haven't started cooking our mains.The table behind us is now kicking off and shouting and swearing about how long and hiw wrong there food is,my wife's steak comes out and it's rare instead of well done so sent back and then at 21.30 we are told it's gone missing and she won't be getting any dinner.this totally ruined our 26th wedding anniversary and makes us feel like we don't want to return as we don't want our night to be ruined again. We are now looking for another steak house to re celebrate this special occasion which was totally ruined.

My husband and I visited on the rare occasion we did not have our kids. The waiter was the only good thing about the service. The restaurant was not full so subpar standards really shouldn’t have occurred on a Saturday night. Issues were all centered around the food - first, the steak and chips were stone cold. to the point that the butter was not melting on the steak. we sent that back - re-fired steak was then cooked rare/blue (clearly rushed) when we asked for medium-rare. We did not send this back as we had been waiting over an hour for food and were starving so we ate the edges of the steak that were not too rare (this was after 9:30pm!). you could pull out strands of what i can only assume to be veins or something because the meat was so blue. - onion loaf was as flat as a pancake - tomato was a salad tomato on its way out to the compost - a member of the management team told us they would come and check on our meal to see if it was ok and they never did - to top it all off, after all that inconvenience and subpar service, attention to detail and shameful standards, we paid the bill in full (having been told we would get some money off for the inconvenience of the evening) - the service was disappointing all round. the gentleman next to us ordered a burger with no cheese, he got cheese in his burger and was not able to eat it. - The did not have all the sides as well on the night so had items cancelled by the kitchen after the order was made.

Had a great meal , the service as always was amazing couldn’t thank my server enough ( Angelica) she was lovely ! 10/10. Was very busy night , had one issue with one of the main however was handled fantastically , and did everything in their power to mend the error.

Service was very good however the steaks were very disappointing not cooked correctly and a poor cut of meat. The outside of the restaurant looked very shabby. This used to be such a good restaurant, such a shame it’s gone down hill

Food was incredible and so was the service, whether that was because it was quiet, I'm not sure as not been for many years. All the same I was impressed. One negative was hearing one of the members of staff talking about applying for another job, now ok that happens all the time, but looks like you have unhappy staff, and customers should never hear or see that!!

Amazing food, amazing service with great company

We have visited this Miller & Carter several times and always enjoyed our meal. On this occasion the rump steaks were a little tough and discounted from the bill. Everything else about the meal was excellent. Angelica looked after us exceptionally well and we will return next time we fancy a steak.

Great service and food fantastic atmosphere

Staff were friendly, attentive, efficient and welcoming. The food was excellent. There is plenty of parking. The toilets were clean and tidy. The staff were happy with us bringing in a our own birthday cake, which they brought in with lighted candles. Plus they joined in with singing Happy Birthday. The only issue was that there were 9 of us and it was difficult to talk to everyone as we were on a long table, banquet style. (3 tables put together). A round table would have been ideal or maybe a large square table, so we could all see each other and talk easily. I had never been to a Miller & Carter before but would recommend the restaurant and will hopefully return we can recommend the scallops, calamari, lamp rump and Black Angus sirloin.

Food was great and wait times were very quick. Fantastic service from everybody but massive shoutout to Ula. Her attention to detail was incredible and she made the experience that much better for a friends birthdays. Truly an asset to the team.

The food was excellent and very presentable. Our server named Angelina was very polite and heart-warming. The portions are good.

Brilliant experience! The best service from any Miller and Carter so much so that we travel 20 miles to go to this one. The team are consistently attentive and friendly.

Not a good experience. We have been here twice, both times the food took over an hour to arrive. This time not only did the food take over an hour (the restaurant wasn't even that busy), but I asked for my steak to be medium and it was cooked very rare, almost blue. I don't know how a chef can get this so wrong. I asked for a newly cooked steak and the same steak arrived back in a staggering 30 minutes, still slightly on the rare side. It's safe to say we won't be eating at Miller and Carter again.

The whole experience couldn’t be bettered. Ellie really looked after us, and made a good experience fantastic.

Very nice place for a night out

Had a birthday lunch for my partner and he loved it !! The staff were super accommodating with the dessert-bday surprise arrangement beforehand and on the day.

Excellent food and service. This was my first visit in summer months my only complaint is the air conditioning isn't working properly and apparently hasn't been for over a year. This spoilt ( the hottest day so far ) the evening. Needs fixing

I know it's a world renowned steak restaurant but the steak is to DIE for!! You get to choose what you want with it and you get a wedge of lettuce with your choice of sauce. Service is awesome! Staff are so friendly and kind.

if I could give zero stars I would! -excessively noisy so unable to enjoy our group dinner (6 adults/1 child) it was akin to being in a pub bar - could barely hear ourselves speak. Not at all Miller & Carter brand quality of ambiance -had to wait ages for drinks to arrive and an hour for our dinner to arrive - we thought about leaving at the 45 minute mark -Ordered a bread board - the bread was burned around the edges and very crispy. -Cheese burger was the type of quality and flavour you would expect from a much lower level establishment - very disappointing for what it cost. -kids meal was very expensive (same food ordered as sides would have been much cheaper) -kids and adults mac & cheese was watery and tasted like a packet mix. -absolutely awful meal and ambiance - definitely wont be back and wouldnt recommend to anyone else either. Couldnt wait to leave. -Have eaten at Miller & Carter in Horsham, W Sussex and it was lovely but this was exactly like a Travel Lodge level restaurant - not at all up to the expected level of a true Miler & Carter restaurant.

Went for a dinner with a friend, We were served by Kristin, wow what an amazing service she gave us. Always smiling attentive, not intrusive. Absolutely Gem. The food was delicious too had the scallops. And a steak for dinner perfectly cooked, that onion thing that comes with the steak( sorry don’t know the name) perfect. So good I would rather have two of this instead of chips. Dessert very good and huge too. Would of give 6 stars to Kristin if google would allow me.

Amazing food. On more than one occasion I have had a steak here now and they always melt in your mouth. Service was friendly and in good time considering the number of people there. Didn't feel crowded or rushed. Will definitely be going again. Nice quiet location away from mk town centre with many free parking spaces.

The steak was shipped in a cardboard bowl with a plastic lid. It was pretty cool when it arrived and the steak juices had condensed inside the tub, the steak was rubbery like it had been boiled. The rest of the juices had soaked into the onion loaf, giving it a consistency similar to wet tissue paper. A side of chips were missing. I eat at Miller and Carter about 6 - 8 times per year and it is normally great so I thought I would try the take away. This was a mistake.

Excellent food, atmosphere and service

it was horrendous, first of all with your 3 course menu you tell me that you have no Fillet steak left and no substitute for it so you couldn't help me and that if I wanted Fillet then i have to pay more.. So i had to go with the 8oz Ribeye instead... This steak was so bad I nearly choked on the Fat which ran all the way through the steak, it literally had no meat to it.. I told the waitress and again I couldn't believe I was told oh well some steaks are bad as if she didn't care about I had just paid £35.00 for a steak that i didn't like... This was unacceptable - I certainly wont be coming back soon even though i've been a regular customer for a very long time - i was completely let down!!! Oh and just to add the Calamari was stone cold and my sons garlic bread was soggy! It wasn't just the steak that was bad!

A lovely place to go and eat. When we went it wasn't overly busy. The food and service was good

Amazing meal, our waitress (Ula) remembered us from 3-6 months prior, remembered my wine preference and was very prompt and efficient with everything we needed. We were looked after incredibly well and the food was delicious (exception being the garlic mushrooms which I’d advise against ordering) however the rest was incredible/faultless!! Also recommend Agauribay for wine!

I had an excellent meal at Miller and Carter. The food was perfect, and as always, the service was outstanding. I couldn't recommend it more to my friends and family. My server, Sharon, was especially amazing—fast, efficient, and most of all, friendly. Me and my partner will continue to have all dates nights and special occasions here.

Really slow service behind the bar. 4 of us only went in for one round of 2 x Calypso coffee, 1 flat white, and 1 rum with ice. Can't blame it on the staff as there simply aren't enough of them on duty. It's never changed since it opened. Other customers told can't order food for 30 mins then 30 mins later told another 15 to 20 mins wait. It's shocking, really.

We go fairly regularly (especially birthdays) and it’s a favourite of both kids. Far better than the old Toby Carvery it used to be. They also understand the difference between blue and rare.

Food was amazing as usual! The Shenley Church End Miller & Carter is our favourite 😊 Kristen is a fantastic waitress and we had a great time!

Had a fantastic meal. The food was absolutely delicious, had the cheese and bacon burger which honestly might be the best burger I’ve had in a very long time. Will definitely be visiting another location for that burger alone. Also had the crème brûlée which was just delicious and a great way to finish. Sharon who severed us was lovely and provided great service. I do no agree with some comments that the main food was a little slow coming out but other than that the experience was perfect. Definitely recommend and would come again.

Service great, steak was tough and gristly

Nice restaurant, lovely food. Don't expect alot more than a bite if you order grilled lobster tail. Bit pricey.

"Having dined at multiple Miller and Carter restaurants, we found this one to be a bit of a letdown. The building facade needs renovations, as it looks rather rundown, and the seat booths weren't particularly hygienic. The food was merely acceptable and didn't meet the usual quality we've come to expect from this company. The highlight of our visit was our waiter, Corie, whose fantastic customer service truly stood out. We hope he received our tip in full as he is definitely an asset to this branch."

Amazingly cooked steak . Great service

Really great steak, delicious sauces and decadent desserts. The staff were very nice, and great with my child. Took them a while to deliver each course, but definitely worth the wait!

Staff were friendly, that's the only positive, our salt and pepper squid starters lacked salt and pepper. Ordered 3 steaks, mine was supposed to be medium rare, was medium well, and a tough as old boots and no flavour, my other half ordered medium, it was well done, she mentioned it, they did the take the steak away, left the rest of the meal and then brought another one back 15 mins later when the rest of us had finished eating. When the replacement was brought, the waiter asked my wife to cut the steak in half in front of him to check, guessing this is cause the chef has no idea what they are sending out. This one was clearly rare, despite staff trying to convince us otherwise as it bled all over the plate. My wife doesn't mind rare steak, but considering how long it took to being out a replacement and how little time this steak had been cooked for, you would of thought it could of at least been rested so it didn't do that. Service was incredibly slow, building is shabby from the outside. Wish I read the trip advisor reviews first as these seem to by and large reflect the experience we had. Had I not been to the one in Bedford and seen how good an M and C could be, I'd never visit this chain again.

Staff were friendly , the good points kinda end there, service was slow. The salt and pepper calamari didn't have any salt or pepper. My medium rare rump was more medium, completely flavourless and tough as old leather, my other ordered hers medium, came out well done, they take her old steak away, she waited 15 mins for another, so we'd all finished by the time her replacement came out, the waiter asked her to cut in half in front of him to check, honestly this time a good vet could of bought it back to life, but my went with it as she had enough waiting around, she did mention it was rare, but them manager said nope that medium as it bled all over the plate. If I hadn't been to a decent millet and carter before this would of put me off going to the chain again.

Came here today for a rare day off from the kids. Was so excited being steak lovers. The food was amazing, the steak was perfect, the cheffs need a massive high five, please pass that on, unfortunately the service wasn't the greatest, was welcomed promptly by one server who was very friendly. A new server served us which felt really rushed, and couldn't recommed anything when I asked, as everything looked so good. We went with the tbone and the 160z rib eye. No check back or offered more drinks, tried to catch his eye couple times but he seemed to be only paying attention to the larger tables, over heard one waiter jokingly telling a guest that he worked hard on thier table and was hoping for a big tip. Over all food was brilliant, well worth the money but felt a bit deflated on spending that much and not receiving full service and wondering if there would be any comments regarding a tip, which being in the industry I always do.

Nice food, worth the cost, hmm not really. Service was excellent. Let down by dessert. For a place that tries to rise above others they need to review the desserts, apple pie looked more like a pukka pie filled with baby food. Microwaved as it had cold spots. Presented with a sample amount of custard. The brownie was more like a choc cake. Overall it was good, but I have had better elsewhere for less

Very friendly and excellent service

First the positives. The manager was extremely good at dealing with the numerous issues that we encountered. He went above and beyond. The issues were: Drinks order taken. There was a delay in the waitress coming back to take our food order. A good 15 minutes passed before I ask another waiter if we could order our food and that we were still waiting for our drinks and he said he would get our waitress. She came over and said the drinks were on their way and took our food order. We continued to wait for our drinks when the starter for my son arrived. My husband went to the bar to ask about the drinks and it appeared our order had been lost. They sorted this out. We were then waiting for our mains. By this point, we had been in the restaurant just over an hour. Three other tables who had arrived after us were all having their meals already. I then went to speak to the manager who was aware of the missing drinks problem and he assured me the mains would not be long. When they arrived, two of the steaks were perfect. My ribeye, which I had asked for medium rare, was overcooked and dry. My husband went to speak to the manager who came over to apologise and agreed that the steak was indeed overcooked and offered to replace it. It came just as my son and husband had finished their meals. The steak was OK but had quie a bit of sinew running through the middle so I left about a third of it. We asked for the bill. The manager came over with it and apologised again and had given us a generous reduction as he had also noticed that I had left quite a bit of the second steak (this impressed me as he had obviously asked to be notified or kept an eye on it himself as I had not made any mention of it when my plate was cleared). We said we appreciated the gesture as our complaints were not made to try and get money off, but to highlight the issues. My husband had told him we were there to celebrate my birthday, and it hadn't gone well. Upon leaving, the manager presented me with a bottle of wine and said he hoped it would in some small way compensate and that I could enjoy it to finish off my birthday. This was very much appreciated.

Served by Kasia on our visit today, she was attentive and really lovely throughout the whole evening. We couldn't of asked for more from our server. Lovely food, couldn't fault our experience at Miller & Carter!

We were greated by a friendly gentleman who showed us out booked table. First thing I saw was dirty fork on the floor under my seat. The waitress at the begining was nice and very attentive. By the 7p.m. she was keep coming to the table every 5minutes to ask if we were done.... I know its busy but if there is food and wine she shouldn't be back to the table at that frequency. Then by the end when we where done we asked her for bill. She started to be very friendly and in front of my partner started to call me "darling". When she brought bill she left a note on receipt which is inappropriate! And when she came with card reader in front of my girlfriend she said "there you go my love"... that was too much. Will never come back to that place

Stayed at the travel lodge next door to the Resturant. So called in to book a table . Service was very good Ellie the waitress was very nice and pleasent,Quick service and the food we had was very good.

The restaurant in itself was nice and cosy, the waiter was also very pleasant, and provided a great service. However, the food was not hot and the chips were not seasoned. There was no taste as usually there is. I would not recommend this restaurant or visit it myself again. My husband used the toilets which he said were awful, toilet paper all over the floor and very dirty.

Large family booking on Easter Sunday - did not disappoint. Leisurely pace so did not feel rushed Nigel our server was very attentive without being pushy, very patient with out two younger family members.

Over priced, over rated, service quiet slow went for my nephews 18th was sat on 2 separate tables would have been nice to be sat on a long table together. Pie was burnt so returned & everyone else had finished eating when i received my replacement no reduction in the bill was given.
