Went there for dinner we were greeted by so called manager.However I ordered fillet mignon medium rare and it came out overcooked. So called manager argumentative try to prove me wrong sarcastically trying to say if I don’t speak English he can explain to me on few others… Won’t come back or recommend

Father’s day lunch, the steaks were cooked exactly as ordered and the waitress was very friendly, we will definitely come back.

My husband and I dined on July 26th to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. We ordered the 28oz CÔTE DE BOEUF steak, which was cooked to perfection, truly the best I've had in a long time. The customer service was excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We can't wait to return.

Hi myself and my partner had a fantastic meal on Sunday evening after going to the Reggae festival and the service was great when browsing through my bank statement the next day I was charged £16 over what I paid at the restaurant that night I rang the restaurant that day and spoke to the manager he was very helpful and found that the waiter that served us that night so very kindly added it onto the bill himself has a service charge without saying anything which I already tipped him £5 in cash earlier so please be very careful what your paying for before you leave and check your bank statement after .

Went to Xscape to go cinema with son and daughter in law and called into Miller & Carter for a meal before the film and had an amazing time

Tried to dine here last night. Arrived at 21:30 only to be told very abruptly by the waitress/manager? “We’re shut” despite opening time being listed here online as 23:00. Arrived at 20:00 this evening to try again. Lots of empty tables but told no space for two as they don’t have enough waiters according to the same rather nonchalant waitress/manager. Kind of a joke for a restaurant like this. Won’t be wasting a 3rd try on this place. Mostly due to the couldn’t care less attitude from this person on the door.

We recently came to Miller and Carter on a Friday evening. We were shocked on the service and quality; After waiting an hour 45 minutes, We were served cold food, the sauce for the steak had separated so you could tell it had been sat for a long time. We was offered no discount or any compensation, Spent over £100 on two cold fillets, starters and drinks. Me and my partner were very disappointed to say the least, As a result; We will not be returning! I would rather spend more money at KOBE Steak House, and be presented with something worth paying for.

Food - I had prawn cocktail to start. Can't go wrong with prawn cocktail but for a restaurant of this calibre, I expected better quality prawns than the supermarket special version I got. Tasteless and tiny. I ordered sirloin steak, medium rare. When it came, I did query whether it was a sirloin, it was a weird shape, thick at one end, tapering to thin at the other, with no fat on the edge. And it was cooked medium in my opinion, see photo. My partner's burger was very overseasoned ( too peppery) and the side of sautéed greens we ordered were luke warm and raw, not even "al dente". Service was ok, our waiter was fab, friendly and smiley but it seemed orders were going all over the place rather than the correct tables. I think they had an "off night", never had a problem there previously, and our bill was amended to take account of dissatisfaction.

We arrived earlier than expected and the staff were really helpful in accommodating us. Service was brilliant. Food was amazing. This was the first time my daughter and I had been to a Miller and Carter restaurant and we loved it. We will definitely be back .

Came here for mine and my boyfriend’s 4 year anniversary today. We had an amazing time the food was incredible but most of all our waiter Richard was absolutely amazing, he made us feel so welcome and comfortable. To add to the incredible experience at the end of the meal he came out with a plate writing happy anniversary for us completely by surprise. I cannot begin to thank him enough for the amazing experience he created for us. I highly recommend coming here to anyone and will definitely be visiting again.

Our meal was wonderful. Plenty to eat. Only criticism is that the food could have been a bit hotter but was amazing. Staff very informative & accommodating.

Food wasn’t cooked as I requested and the service was horrible will not be visiting again! Was sat next to a bunch of men in tracksuits shouting and swearing and the waitress clearly had an issue with my skin colour by the service i was given compared to others.

Was relatively quiet for a Sunday evening however, food was cooked perfectly! All steakhouses usually ask how you’d like your steak cooked but it’s not often they get it right. Definitely not the case here at Miller & Carter MK Xscape. Absolutely brilliant food, service was excellent and all round lovely experience. We rang the bell on the way out which indicates a very happy customer! Lastly, for what it’s worth….our hotel at MK Dons has a well known and famous steakhouse within it so is literally a hundred yards from our room! Been there a number of times and was not impressed at all. So despite having to taxi back and forth to Miller & Carter from the hotel, it’s definitely a much much better option!

Great service! All staff were kind & friendly. We had a few issues with my p main meal as I am pregnant and needed adaptions to how the steak needed to be cooked. We had to send it back twice but the staff were very understanding of the situation. Offered myself and my husband free desserts and took my main off the bill! Will 100% be visiting again

Served by Kyle tonight, he created such a lovely atmosphere for myself and my partner. Funny, interactive and darting about to make sure he looked after all of his guests. He really made the evening special and is a credit to the team at Miller and Carter. He's a keeper!

Another visit to a different Miller and Carter and the same result, amazing food, super friendly staff and a thoroughly enjoyable evening had. The Butcher's block was soo tasty with a good variety of meat just right for two. Will definitely be back

A fantastic visit again, the food was delicious, the cocktails were amazing, Dave the server was excellent, friendly, came to check up on us and made sure we had our food and bill in good time to go to the theatre.

Popped in for quick lunch. Asked for medium steak, arrived medium well/well done. When manager came over to my table his first comment was “that’s medium” and he began arguing with me. He took my plate away and I heard him go to kitchen and dress down the chef who cooked it as it was way over done…. So he was just attempting to argue for the sake of it? It was very clear that my steak was over cooked. Even my waitress agreed. Rude rude manager, never going back again *edit based on OWNERS RESPONSE* You can see by that response the general attitude of manager there. I never stated WHEN I went in for lunch. I went in for lunch on FRIDAY, please see receipt attached of the glass of wine I paid for. But your attitude is what’s most shocking. Completely dismissive at a genuine complaint just like the concerns were immediately dismissed when I raised them in the restaurant. You never asked to email or call for further information. Just “no waitresses this day, ur review must be fake” what a disgusting attitude to have towards your customers. I thought this was a high end establishment. I guess not.

We visited this M & C at lunchtime on a Wednesday and found it pleasantly full of customers, I hate eating somewhere that we are the only diners. Our waiter was Dave and he was very friendly and cooperative in explaining the menu and made a couple of good suggestions re our choices. We were going to order off the full menu but there was enough choice on the lunchtime special menu to suit us, we both had Calamari to start and that was lovely and plenty of it. For mains, my wife had the 5oz fillet and I had the steak burger, both with chips. Both meals were brilliant. My wife's a fussy steak person and hers was beautiful and tasty, my burger was tasty and huge, we both had chips that were possibly the best I've eaten anywhere, soft inside but a crunch on the outside. Amazing for me but I had no room for a sweet! All in all, a great meal and will definitely be there again soon.

Walked into ask a question about a reservation. Lady who seemed group was a but rude. Shame didn't even get to food. Amazing was a smile can do.

A spontaneous meal out. On our request for a table, we were immediately found a table. Our order was taken by Matteo, who was friendly and helpful. The steak was delicious, perfectly cooked. Portion size was magnificent! Even my husband couldn't eat everything! Unfortunately we were in a rush, so didn't have a dessert but definitely will be back. Thank you.

This restaurant is the best one there is for steak enthusiast. I sincerely believe they server the best steaks in Milton Keynes. And all the side side dishes they server the meat with: the fried onions, the range of sauces, the different options for potatotes (chips, thick cut, mash potatoe and more)... Are absolutely out of this world. Speciall mention to Dave, one of the best waiters I've ever seen. Not only does he provide an outstanding service, but you really feel he wants to take care of your meal and your whole experience. I can't recommned this restaurant enough!!!

Had a birthday meal here last week. The seats were filthy and some of the light fittings in the ceiling looked like they have been bodged up, however food was great and service excellent. Expensive for the standard of the restaurant.

Had a great first experience here. We were served by Kyle and he was super patient and helpful while us noobies navigated the menus. Food was cooked how we wanted it and full bellies all round.

Firstly the staff were friendly, helpful and excellent. The steaks were cooked perfectly (rare) and the drinks were good and reasonably priced.

Was greeted for a table and asked for a booth for my family of 5. After ten minutes of waiting while looking at two empty booths we were ushered to a table instead. When we went to order the waiter Dave pulled out a tablet device with the menu for allergies for my daughter. When I stated that was cool he replied, what having an allergy is cool sarcastically. My whole family mentioned it inappropriate and disrespectful but I let it go. Then we finish the salads and Dave the waiter asks if we are done with are forks. Out of all five of us I didn’t feel like salads and only took one bite and was fine keeping my fork but Dave remarks, good to see some people actually use there forks to insinuate my etiquette was up to par in front of my family. My steak was medium but even my son commented that it look rare on certain parts. Overall everyone really enjoyed the food and it came out quickly. Female waiter we had was pleasant enough wish we had her instead. Last but not least a drunk guy was getting pummelled out the window right out the restaurant by some fake thugs and a brave customer dining ran out in the middle of his meal to break up the fight. Can’t say that’s the restaurants fault but you don’t want to be thinking about your car getting broke into while dining. I spent 200pounds on the meal and tipped 50 pounds because everyone is feeling the cost of living. But overall I would not recommend anyone dine at this particular miller and carter if they can’t get the fundamentals down to dining…. Respect and save the sarcasm for your buddies down at the pub.

Slow service. Filet not rested. Sides cold. Have had good meals here avoid weekends and busy times and it can be good.

I’m not sure what happened last night, but when came in without a booking, we were turned away saying that the restaurant was fully booked. There were plenty of empty tables which we’d assumed were for incoming guests so left without a fuss. However, when we went online a couple of minutes later, we found that we could easily book a table for the current time (I went through the whole booking process and got a confirmation so definitely had space, but then I promptly cancelled as did not feel we’d be welcome there). I’m not sure why this excuse was given to us by the hostess but being untruthful is really poor form. I hope that their turning us away was nothing to do with any prejudice and was an excuse for some other reason. We ended up going to a lovely Turkish restaurant instead as did not feel welcome even if we were able to make a booking online.

We are a family of 8 . Celebrating a special birthday. Dave was our waiter and he was brilliant from start to finish. We had an assortment of the lunch time menu plus a couple of meals from the main menu. All the 8 meals came out at the same time . We had no complaints about any of the food. At the end of the meal a complimentary birthday cake was brought out, making the day complete. We will definitely be going back .

Went for dinner with one of my friends for a catch-up. I was served by Richard and we was by far the best server I’ve had being here many times! didn’t rush us and also had a laugh and made us feel very welcome! Thank you Richard!! Please give Richard a pay rise :)

Came with my girlfriend for dinner as we are long distance and hadn’t seen her in a while. Richard was our server and he was so lovely, so patient as we took our time with ordering. Also made us laugh too and just created a super relaxed homely environment. Thanks Richard top Dawg !

Well a medium filet steak I asked for and a medium cooked steak is what i got. Only problem is it was cold. So naturally it went back. They left the wife's. So she was eating on her own. ( a bit poor really) but never mind my steak came back freshly warmed up " popped it back under the grill for you" yea right. A few minutes later I called over the waiter and asked " dose butter melt" of course was his answer " so why has my butter not melted on top of the filet steak I am paying nearly £40 for. She he pops off to get the manager who was as usefull as aused tea bag. " I saw it go under the grill myself" well it's still not very warm as the butter still had not melted. I will near be going to this Miller and Carter again. £20 off a £130 bill for 2. Yes I could of kicked up a fuss but it was my wife's birthday so I did not want her to feel uncomfortable with the whole venue. I feel cheated let down. All in all a very bad experience.

Two of us went to Miller and Carter for the first time after seeing You Tube reviews. On arriving we thought the decor and atmosphere were very nice, with a decent amount of space between most tables. The staff were friendly and efficient, although the drinks did take a long time to be served. We were there for the food though and this is why the rating is 3 star. The scallops were tiny, but there were 4 of them, and the accompanying sauce and bacon was tasty. The chicken wings were generous and were cooked perfectly, and the cheese dip with them was good. The steak was disappointing. We both had the rib eye which was recommended by the grill chef and our waitress. It had very little flavour and was underwhelming unfortunately. The onion loaf on the Youtube reviews looked like a small loaf - ours were like a large onion bahji. The beef dripping wasn't full of the flavour we were led to expect. The chips were so undercooked - I spoke to a waitress and she brought us replacement portions quickly which while not great were an improvement. I would definitely return though, but probably for a burger or rack of ribs, and I would ask for well done chips !

This place is great for a birthday meal. Very fancy and comfortable. Food was delicious and served hot! For prices you get your moneys worth ☺️ Easy parking and friendly customer service.

All I can say is food, atmosphere & service was outstanding. I was there with my sister & my 10yr old niece. From the way we were greeted and brought to our table, to us leaving we have to say we will definitely be back. Dave was our server and he was the friendliest server I have met in a long time I had mentioned in passing when ordering drinks that I was drinking but the birthday girl my sister was driving so couldn’t drink After our deserts Dave came out with a plate with happy birthday wrote on it which was so thought We will definitely be back Thank you for a lovely eating experience

Yesterday I had a reservation for 5 people, including two children, the food was delicious, the place was clean, everything was ok. the payment bill was £204, I paid by card, I want to mention that we were served by Dave (I hope I remembered correctly), when the waiter typed to pay by card he put the amount of £220 without he tells us that this is the Tips, unfortunately I was not aware of this amount, which disappointed me.

We visited after a matinee performance at the nearby theatre and were slightly surprised to be asked if we'd made a reservation as we looked at a near empty restaurant at 515pm! However, we were seated quickly and from then on service and food were excellent. My pictures show the decor, a lovely glass of Malbec and my salad wedge. I didn't photograph my steak when it arrived - just tucked in and enjoyed it, perfectly medium rare and delicious with a red wine sauce. We'll be back.

This is a brilliant place for a meal, post or pre theatre. We had such a great time and were looked after by Richard so well. They deal with allergy’s so well and my partner who is gluten and dairy free ate like a king!

As a M&B shareholder, we frequent their range of eateries and Miller and Carter is one of our favourites. We enjoy the consistently good quality steak and accompaniments . On this particular visit, my first to their Milton Keynes Xscape restaurant, we enjoyed the especially attentive service of Dave who was very knowledgable of the food and drink items available. A pleasant ambience, great food and wine made for an enjoyable dinner experience, thank you.

We regularly eat at Miller and Carter but the service we received here was disappointing. The food was very late considering it was a quiet afternoon with less than 10tables. After waiting for ages, my husband’s steak was more rare than it was medium. The peppercorn sauce was so watery he couldn’t eat it. The brownie was rock hard that we could not dig into it with a spoon. Disappointed

Ordered on the website yesterday to collect at 19:00. A relatively young lady assisted me. I mentioned to her that I was collecting ( and show her the email confirmation) and she assumed straight ahead that its a delivery. A bit confused I repeat myself and mentioned that I'm collecting. After 5 minutes she comes with my order and asks me if I got everything, and I'm baffled as its her responsibility to make sure that my order is complete, so I show her the email confirmation again, after which her facial expression shows that she understands that I'm a customer and I ask her "do you think I'm a Uber driver?". After which she doesn't apologise and just waves her hand like... forget about it. Food was good, but not a pleasant first experience.

We have just been in for dinner, we were served by Richard an absolute pleasure it was. So friendly and so attentive to all our needs would highly recommend Richard to be our server every time we visit from now on. Our food was amazing so much so we ring the bell and complimented the chef personally. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very good did get a little hot as the night went on but that is probably because we were sat near the kitchen. Over all one of the best experiences we have had at miller and carter. Again a big thanku to Richard u made our night.

The steak was OK. I ordered medium rare and it came medium, but tasty. I really don't understand what's so difficult to use a termometre when you cook big pieces of meat... I gave 3 stars instead of 2 because it's a good value for money. I did not sent it back because one can argue that it's a very fine line between medium rare and medium, it was late, I was tired and hungry and the only way of "fixing" an overcooked steak is to cook it again which would have been another at least half an hour. For the above reasons I would have not sent it back even it was well done instead of medium rare...at the end of the day, everyone like good food but at the same time food is food and when you're hungry you eat even average or sub average food. So a tasty steak even a bit overcooked is still a good meal. The greens were OK, although the peas was undercooked. The lettuce was fresh and crunchy. The rest were all fake. Potatoes were from frozen, and the dressings had nothing to do with reality. I will not go into details of why the Cesar dressing is not Cesar, etc. The sauces: wine sauce ok, the peppercorn sauce had no peppercorns and the chimichurri was cooked and very sour (when you cook something that's meant to be served uncooked that becomes a different dish; why would you advertise it under the same name...?) The service was good. I gave 3 stars instead of 4 because the kitchen refused to slice my cote de beouf for reasons which are beyond my understanding. Would I go again? For a lack a better choices, I would, yes, but it would not be my 1st option.

Steak came as medium well instead of medium rare, we said this was incorrect and the waiter came back and said we can have another but it would be a long wait so as we were with the young kids I had it, wasn't impressed and was only offered a apology for his error. Mac and cheese was tiny, I mean really, really small and came in a pot that you would normally get sauce in - for a child this was nowhere near enough. Then puddings were over a 45 minute wait and the trio of desserts was very poor.

Good food and a nice restaurant and for that they get 4 stars, why not 5 because of the waiter, when I asked if I could see the menu before deciding because not all of us eat meat he said “well it is a steak house” ( no sh#t Sherlock) and the worse thing was he said was “there are many restaurants in MK” as if he didn’t care if we were there. I nearly left, but we decided to stay, and as said the food was good.

Debs, our waitress, made it night in MK. Very helpful. Food was great as always. Just a lousy fire alarm took the edge off but it wasn't in M & C's control.

We was very disappointed with our visit yesterday evening. On arrival we were seated and the table was sticky, looking at other tables they weren't much better so we just made do...though wiped with the serviette and it was greasier than the kebab shop counter! Anyway, ordered the starters, and butchers block...asked the waiter for recommendations on how to have the steaks and his response was 'I dont know its up to you' - in general he was blunt and looked like he hated his job. Starters were lovely - halloumi fries and sticky chicken bites. Waited a while for mains, which arrived luke warm, for a near £80 dish you would expect it to arrive hot right?! Also brought the wrong sauce (ordered peppercorn and got something that looked like bbq) over. The additional side of greens looked like microwaved veg tossed in a dish, not worth almost £5 at all. The steak was cooked to the way we ordered, and did taste lovely- however over all not worth the money at all given the service and temperature of the food. Asked the waiter half way through if he could have the air con turned down - he looked at me as though I had asked him to cover the bill and questioned me with 'turned down?!' Which he obviously didn't do because it was still blowing when we left. He came to take our plates and asked if we want dessert. Which we declined. He then proceeded to ignore us when we were trying to ask for the bill, purposely looking the other way, so we asked someone else who directed him to us. You then have a £104 bill to pay and the option to tip the waiter....we declined this option on the card reader, and heard him scoff as we walked away. We always tip staff if it's deserved, in this case it absolutely was not good service let alone worthy of a tip. The restaurant itself really looked as though it needed a refurb, tired and not the dining experience they advertise. Also noted when booking they do not accept sportswear attire.....yet there was someone sat in a hoody with the hood UP the entire time, lads wearing baseball caps and tracksuits etc so really not what they advertise and price as upmarket dining unfortunately...

Rude accusatory staff. No lunch menu offered. Went for 2 course lunch menu. Steaks served blue when asked for medium. Sent back still came out rare. Said I wouldn’t be having a 2nd course as was put off and we would go elsewhere. Bill came after chasing with everything on the bill. Refused to pay for my meal as had eaten bits of better done sections but still over half left. Got told I had eaten half the expensive bit and would need to discuss with manager. Asked to speak with manager twice, not sure he should be a manager as he just gets his staff to do the hard part for him and never once came out. Birthday ruined - got told I should have said something. I did! To another waiter who left half way through and clearly didn’t hand over or tell them the issue with the first steak. Will never ever go back reluctantly paid for my boyfriend’s meal even though we had a terrible experience.

Had a lovely meal with family and friends at Miller & Carter at the Xscape centre . Great food, not rushed and had excellent service from Dave. Well done to all.

Excellent food, great service, nice atmosphere. We ordered sirloin and ribeye plus some delicious starters (baked cheddar mushrooms and salt&pepper calamari) and everything was excenttly prepared. We also tried different kinds of souce but we agreed that it was better not to change the great flavours of the stakes. Cabernet savignon was a perfect match.

We had two ribs which were good A ribeye which was cold and the fries didn’t turn up for a further 5 mins due to a faulty batch apparently. A sirloin which was also Luke warm chunky chips turned up after another 3 mins Dirty burger the burger was cold the steak was warm the fries were like you would get at the bottom of the bag. Nachos to start x 2 everything was cold on the plate. Dave our waiter was very attentive So for 5 of us £200 including soft drinks and cold food some of which turned up too late. I won’t be rushing back

A very disappointing experience. We had booked for 2 people at 7:30 on Saturday, and upon arrival (we had arrived 7:20) told that the table wouldn't be ready for another 30 minutes. The bar area was already full, so we said we would go grab a drink elsewhere and come back when the table is ready. We returned after half an hour, and told there would still be a "little wait" before the table was ready. Another 20 minutes go by, and the hostess called us over to follow her to the table, before then telling us to wait at the host stand again. A couple more minutes, then she tells us to follow her to the table (again). We follow her over, then are told to wait as they re lay the table. I honestly wouldn't have been bothered by this had we not been incrementally beckoned over to the table. What I did find frustrating was seeing 15+ plates of food on the pass waiting to be taken to diners. When we eventually sat, at 8:20, we were somewhat annoyed. When we found out that the couple next to us had been there since 6:20 and had been waiting 90 mins for their mains, we decided to eat elsewhere since we were very hungry and already nearly an hour later than our reservation. When we asked the reason for the delay, the hostess gave a very noncommittal response that a chef had called in sick, and "sometimes they overbook the restaurant, but they haven't today, things have just taken a long time." Dave, who would have been our waiter, was very polite and understanding in our decision to go elsewhere. I understand that sometimes service doesn't go to plan, but this seemed really extreme. I was mostly upset as I had booked for my partner's birthday meal and he usually loves m&c. It really put a damper on our evening. When we had finished our meal at the other restaurant, when we were leaving xscape we saw another pair leaving miller and carter commenting on the state of things -- and this was around 9:30, so they hadn't gotten things under control by then which made us feel more confident in our decision to go elsewhere.
