Miller & Carter Beaconsfield in South Bucks

We went to celebrate our son's birthday. The food was delicious and the service was great. Our waitress, Danielle was so lovely and made our evening really special. Thank you very much.

Was a bit reluctant to review as I do like the Miller and Carter chain but our visit to this one was disappointing, especially as we'd come for my friend's birthday which I did specify on the booking. We went for dinner, great that there was plenty of parking. But as we entered we were told they'd run out of a lot items on the menu due to a busy afternoon. Asked few questions and seemed there would be enough to choose from. We decided on a set course but turned out there was alot more items that weren't available, luckily we were 'allowed' to substitute but at a supplement. The restaurant wasn't busy when we got there, but we waited 45mins for our starters. Surprising considering our choice of food. The service, even though friendly, was very slow. After waiting a long time I ended up walking around to get a member of staff so we could pay the bill. And then there was another wait as we had to get the bill corrected.

Taha served us today and was absolutely amazing. Food was also lovely. Thank you.

To be honest I can't think of anything that was disappointing. We were met with a friendly greeting at the door and shown to our table. The timing of every aspect was great with just the right pauses between: taking our orders, bringing the food, clearing the plates, getting and paying the bill. If anything, the drinks took ever so slightly longer than I would have liked but my wife didn't notice at all so that probably says more about me! Our waitress was really friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was great. The noise level was just right to give a buzz but not drown conversation (thanks to the carpet and soft furnishings which so many establishments seem to avoid). And the food, the food was excellent, really tasty, well cooked, hot. The tip options on the payment handset were welcome in avoiding the awkward mental maths after a couple of beers. Full marks.

Dinner at Miller & Carter Beaconsfield was as good as I've come to expect. Very nice steaks accompanied by great sauces and the excellent onion loaf. With halloumi fries to start and banoffee pie for dessert what's not to like? Our waiter Taha was very attentive and professional. Two small niggles. First there was no vinegar available to put on our chips. How can any restaurant that sells chips run out of vinegar? Secondly it would be nice to have a draft bitter on tap however Doom Bar in bottles was a very acceptable second best.

We had satisfactory pleasant lunch and were pleased but a manager said they could not accept a £50 gift card distributed nationally, which included Miller and Carter, as our bill was just under £50 and we had to spend at least £50 to use this card. We then had to use credit card. When we queried it with head office they said manager had been wrong to reject gift card.. These cards had been accepted by previous managers.

Warm welcome, attentative team members and fantastic food.

Our waitress “small lady” was excellent and should be commended on her service. I can’t say the same for the manager as she was rude. We were left waiting an hour for our mains and it wasn’t particularly busy (lots of empty tables). We decided to leave as we lost out appetite waiting. The manager tried to convince us to stay saying our food would be 5-10 minutes and when we declined she just walked off and asked our waitress to sort out the bill. Appalling service, sadly this isn’t the first time we have had bad service at Miller and Carter. So to conclude, our waitress was lovely, your manager should take some training in customer service and the carpets need cleaning more regularly. Won’t be coming back.

We both ordered 30 day aged steak fillet and ribeye. Both steaks were tough full of sinue and the fillet when cut open was full of smelly blood just like in pre packed meat. Both steaks were sent back. The next ones varied the fillet was meant to be med/rare and was presented med/well the ribeye but hadn't been rested. How hard is it for a steak restaurant to cook a steak ? The cleanliness was average.and the decor tired When we were presented with new cutlery the knife were filthy which was replaced by the waiter. Very poor experience and definitely will not be returning

I joined the masters of steak club made my reservation at reception there was a delay finding my booking as the booking was in the name of my email address? We sat down with menus then waited and waited other tables seated after us and their orders were taken. We raised the issue with the front desk and then our order was taken. Drinks arrived quickly, when our order arrived mains/lettuce we were told our sides (fries/chunky chips) were on their way - we waited and waited and waited our mains were cold we raised the issue and after a few minutes the sides arrived (they were piping hot as had only just been cooked). We had never been to a Miller Carter before and will not return. The manager did adjust the bill which was appreciated but we would rather of paid the full amount and had great service and food. The deep fried onion side was cold, soggy and not edible. The steaks were ok

Aug 2024: Great service! Jordana was great at serving us! Very attentive and patient! Food was delicious! Rib eye was juicy and flavorful! 2019: Service was a bit slow at times. How ever it was friendly and warm. Steak was good too.

The food was 100% we couldnt fault it but the service was appalling. It wasn't busy at all but the staff were slow and 1 of them didnt have a clue .its a shame because the place has lovely food , its definitely gone down hill .

Great meal, with thanks to Taha - very friendly and helpful. Always a good meal at Miller and Carter. Only reduced one star as it was a little chilly however, the property is a character building so understand this is a reason. It didn’t warm up as more people joined.

We had a lovely meal today,Jordana our server was friendly.The food was exquisite,for starters I had the gluten free baked cheddar mushrooms ,it was delicious,loved the mushrooms(cooked to perfection),the bread was delicious and the sauce and spinach was lovely and a nice touch.For mains I went for the 9oz rump steak which was delicious,flavourful tender and cooked to perfection.It had butter on top which was nice.The beef dripping was lovely too and gave the steak an extra hint of flavour.The onion loaf was delicious too.The potatoes were good and the lobster tail was delicious and fresh.The service was a reasonable pace too.The gluten free menu is so big!The toilets were clean too.The decor is lovely in here and the music was lovely in here.Would highly recommend!Miller and Carter truly deserve the title of the masters of steak.

I was served by Jordana today. She was absolutely amazing. I came in on a busy Friday evening hoping that table would be free as I didn’t book. Even though the restaurant was fully booked the staff managed to accommodate me in the seated bar area which is supposed to be self service. However Jordana came and still offered me table service and was an absolute delight. Service with a smile. Super attentive. Polite. Customer service down to a tee. My rump steak and glass of vino was amazing as usual. Great way to end the week!

Overview: Steakhouse restaurant specialising in steaks. Family friendly restaurant and great atmosphere for meals. Pros✅: Lots of choice on the menu to choose from. Menu includes chicken, burgers and salads. Recommend the miller dirty burger and rib-eye steaks. Highly recommend to get the beef dripping sauce. Great service from our waiter Anna. Really nice atmosphere. Cons❌: The steak was slightly chewy and the red wine sauce was slightly too strong to our liking. We know to ignore the shabby appearance and car park with as many white pot hole lines as a Kent A road. The food we had was tasty excellent and served by great staff
