My wife and I recently attended this restaurant to try the three course lunch menu. Overall we weren't impressed. The service was for the most part excellent, for example they were perfectly happy to swap the glass of bubbly, that came as part of our menu, for a glass of red wine. The food however was variable. For a starter I had the cauliflower veloute with truffle oil, truffle of course is a strong flavour but it was so strong that you couldn't taste the cauliflower at all. My wife started with the cod bites which, whilst crispy on the outside had soggy batter inside (too high a temperature in the fryer we reckon). My main was steamed sea breem which was perfectly cooked and outstanding, my wife had the flat iron steak which, although edible, was rather on the tough side. For desert my wife had the chocolate brownie with sauce which was very chocolatey indeed. I had the apple crumble with ice cream (I did ask for custard instead but they were unable to provide this) this consisted of some coldish cooked apple with a literal sprinkling of crumble dust on top, the ice cream didn't begin to melt until after id finished the 'crumble' . For me the crumble is the best bit so I was rather disappointed! My wife's wine had a lot of sediment in it and the wine waiter was happy to replace it, he wasn't so happy to replace mine when it also turned out to have large lumps of sediment in it, however my wife insisted and he did. The new wine tasted far better and we got the impression that they were using up the dregs in old bottles when they first served us. First and last time in a Gordon Ramsay restaurant for us.

Come eat at Chef Gordon's Restaurant 1. The Beef Wellington is delicious, the pastry is not soft and does not separate, but it is recommended to share it with four people. It is a bit too much for two people. You can order other side dishes to go with it. 2. The recommended side dish is crab on toast. It is delicious and can be ordered for two people. 3. The combination of Caesar salad is thoughtful, the ingredients are placed on each recessed dish, and one piece can be eaten as a small plate. 4. The cod is good, and the mashed potatoes on the side are delicious 5. Personally, the toffee pudding was average, but the three people traveling with me liked it very much. I recommend sharing it among four people so that they won’t get tired of it.

The food was nice but not up to the standard of a Gordon Ramsay restaurant. I’ve had better in local independent restaurants. The staff don’t listen and are quite rude. We waited nearly 1 hour before starters were served and a further 45 minutes for mains. The staff strut up and down the restaurant but don’t actually tend to customers needs.

Overall very disappointing service was fine location and decor perfect however food was average and at the standard of any chain restaurant just 3-4 times the cost drinks are priced what you’d expect at a high end dining establishment however the food doesn’t match. Burata starter was the highlight but it went downhill from there we had a ribeye steak steak at £44 plus £14 for two sides and £3.50 for a sauce and I quite frankly felt ripped off the steak was ok but nothing special. Chips were cheap frozen fries and sweetcorn was watery and frozen Partner had prawn curry and rice again ok but nothing you wouldn’t get as good for £15 in a pub. Overall a disappointing experience bill was £144 one beer one 125 ml house rose burrata olives and steak dinner

While appreciating Gordon wouldn't be cooking out food here, you'd assume that the name would carry some standards. It unfortunately doesn't. A nice venue and great location was a good starting point. We felt rushed to order as they clearly want to turn tables round. Not a great experience although the staff were friendly. We both had roast Cod, which was pretty forgettable to be fair. Nice enough, but nothing you couldn't get in any local bistro. Our brocoli came late, almost as we were finishing the cod. It was nice but should have come together. Our kids had the burgers, but our request to have one without cheese was missed and had to be sent back. Just poor attention to detail. A forgettable meal unfortunately. Not bad, but expected a lot more and wouldn't bother again.

Nice concept let down by average cookery and general ineptitude. Cauli starter decent, mains had little flavour (thai prawn & butter chicken curry) sticky toffee was sickeningly sweet and left largely uneaten (to no comment). Bathroom was in a horrifying state. I don't think the young male waiter was trying to be rude but had a surly abrupt manner. McDonalds experience at posh resto prices.

I am deeply disappointed with my experience at Heddon Street Kitchen. I went there for dinner, hoping to enjoy a pleasant evening out, but we were met with unprofessional and rude behavior from the staff. Upon arrival, the staff was nice but the dinner took 2 hours to be served and later they refused us service, claiming that we were "unwell" without any valid reason. This not only felt extremely insulting but was also handled in an inappropriate manner—right in front of other patrons. The management’s response was equally disappointing; they did nothing to address the situation or offer any sort of apology. I’ve never encountered such poor customer service at a restaurant before. It’s upsetting to think that a place that should be welcoming and friendly made us feel uncomfortable and disrespected. This experience has certainly left a bad impression, and I won’t be returning. The staff who called us unwell was Dimitri.

Waited 30 minutes after arriving for our table to be ready, then another 15 minutes to be asked to order. Also, despite the people ahead of us being offered to have their coats taken, this wasn't offered to us. Food arrived in only a couple of minutes after ordering, meaning there was no way it was fired at the time of order. This was more evident as the pasta and roast dinner were not very hot. Overall rather underwhelming. Service was lacking and the food wasn't great, especially considering the price. Won't be back.

Sadly the restaurant was a little understaffed today, so difficult to tell wha the service is normally like, and everyone was trying hard to pull things together, but you could tell they were all under pressure. The Starters were good but not great. Main courses were ok, however, I did expect a little wow factor and unfortunately none of them quite hit the mark. I had the roasted cod, and it was overcooked and the potatoes were stodgy. I had to ask for the wine to be poured 3 times. Perhaps I expected to be slightly more wowed by a restaurant that had Gordon Ramsey’s name above the door, especially as it as a treat for my sons birthday. Disappointed John Manchester

I'll premise this review by saying how much I admire Gordon Ramsay. I have watched his shows on repeat for years. So much so that my daughter, at a time where she could barely say anything, would excitedly say "yes, chep!" Anytime she heard the Hell's Kitchen theme song. That said, I was left sourly disappointed by my experience at Heddon Street Kitchen yesterday evening. I was in the area and we wanted to find a child-friendly dinner option nearby. My sister found this place and I was immediately psyched because, despite being a big fan of Gordon, I still hadn't been to one of his restaurants. We made our way over and we were immediately greeted by the sweetest, most accommodating host (Eddie?). He made us feel welcomed with our children (ages 2 and 7 months). However, the experience was downhill from there. We ordered an appetizer (tamarind-spiced chicken wings) and immediately after ordering, the waiter took away our small plates, so we didn't have any plates to eat the wings over. But this was easily overlooked. It was just kind of odd. When the wings arrived, they smelled amazing and they tasted great. However the complete opposite was true for our entrees. My sister and I both ordered the Roasted Cod dish. When it arrived at the table, I was met with a strong fishy odor. Upon taking a bite or two, my sister and I both looked up at each other and wondered the same thing... did this taste right? The cod wasn't moist, but rather dry, rubbery, and fishy. The sauce was a bit bitter as well. I thought maybe there was something in the sauce that was giving such an unpleasant taste. I was hesitant to say anything, but I couldn't justify paying £30 for something that was inedible to me just so that I could avoid confrontation. So we decided to tell a waiter that something tasted off with the cod. A manager came over and asked what the problem was. I told him, for lack of a better description, the cod tasted too fishy. I was met with arrogance and a condescending reply. He told me cod is a fish. I asked if there was some type of mushroom or fish sauce added to the dish, which he scoffed at because *obviously* none of that was in the dish. I told him that I have never had baked cod, but I have had it fried. Could it be that when Cod is roasted, it has a strong fishy flavor and smell? He said it was possible. He told us that the dish is very popular and lots of people love it. It felt like he was trying to tell us we don't have a taste for good food. I have eaten at a number of Michelin star and James Beard award-winning restaurants around the world. I also eat a lot of steamed, pan-fried, and raw fish. I have eaten at a Michelin-star omakase restaurant... so, I like fish. I may not be an expert on baked cod, specifically, but I have consumed enough fish to say that I know if a fish tastes bad. And this cod dish straight up tasted bad. But regardless, I felt like we should've been met with more respect over the situation. Instead he talked down to us. After taking the fish back to the kitchen, he told us the chef said the fish tasted right and that the chef would not remake the dish for us. Then followed up with, "would you like to order something else?" I was in awe that the flavor of that cod (and the cook on it) was truly what any chef could've intended. I began to doubt my American palate. I wondered if maybe British people enjoy strong, somewhat foul, fishy-tasting flavors. At that point, I felt too much tension from the manager and too much anxiety/self-doubt to feel comfortable ordering another entrée. Instead, we chose to skip to the dessert (the sticky toffee pudding that I have wanted to try forever). That was really good. And so was my husband's Venison pinwheel sausage dish. They did right by us by removing the two cod dishes from our bill and, in the end, the manager apologized that we did not like their cod dish. But I would've much rather the chef owned up to overcooking the cod (causing it to have a terrible texture and flavor), as opposed to being gaslit. It was such a disappointment.

They take you back to the prep kitchen and basically do a step by step guide with you on how they make the beef wellington. They also give you a bottle of Prosecco while you wait (they gave us the whole bottle which we also enjoyed at lunch - which is also covered) and we were completely stuffed by the end. Honestly for that price point it’s a steal - we could eat one of two wellingtons and take the other one home as well.

Very big disappointment. We dined here on the first day of Christmas. First of all the price was already 165 pounds per person, which was steep, but we were very much looking forward to it. We got there, and the set menu was basically very much dominated by various amounts of truffle. I went for the burrata starter which was the most watery, tasteless, washed out burrata I've ever eaten. The beef wellington was only orderable per two and there were three of us, so I took the turkey instead. The beef wellington (I had a taste!) was amazing. Turkey was so-so. Finally the last course I took the cheese which was literally just a small single slice of cheese, which was also obviously sweating. But as the cherry on top we saw one of the waiters grab and eat an olive from the bowls of olives that were about to be served out, just with his bare hands. Overall, outside of the beef wellington, very disappointing. :(

Service was nice but the food was mediocre. Ordered cauliflower truffle starter ended up being a horrible cold ish soup. Steak was nice but the potato portion to go with it was too small, dessert was the best bit. Went for a belated Xmas lunch but wouldn’t come back and spend my own money.

We went to the restaurant for dinner because it was a new innovation from Chef Ramsey and perhaps that's why we had super high expectations. The place itself is very pleasant, the decoration is great and all the colors work. As for the food, it didn't surprise me much. I ordered the famous fish and chips, even on the menu they mention that it is Chef Ramsey's creation. I didn't find it anything extraordinary, and I think the tartar could be much creamier and more acidic. We also ordered the Fool Sandwich or something like that, it was good but nothing out of this world. In the service, we had a waiter who spoke our language and was relatively cool, but also another waiter who was very dry. He got a little upset when we asked for a glass of water and gave it to us rudely. In addition to that he left us waiting for an easy 15 minutes before approaching us and even more because he came and went to the tables that were behind and nothing to us. If you are in London as tourists, go somewhere else that is more profitable.

We went yesterday for lunch to celebrate a birthday and this restaurant is 10/10. We have wanted to try a Gordon Ramsay restaurant for so long now and we weren't disappointed. Food was very delicious and was a very affordable price. Anna our waitress was so lovely and accomodating as well as everyone else that worked there. 5 stars and we can't wait to go back to visit! Thank you for making my boyfriend's birthday an awesome day. We found our new favourite restaurant in London!

We were given a gift card for this place for their 3 course meal experience. However, with traveling and plans up in the air, we just used it for their menu instead! Their burger was pretty good, the atmosphere was nice, and it was relatively quiet when we went (a Sunday around 530-6). I regret not ordering it, but I saw them serve a nice old-fashioned to a table near us! Servers were nice, wasn't loud, little pricier when it comes to the average cost around? But if you like a fine dining-ish type style, it would be a good choice!

We were moved tables for dinner, at request, due to being seating next to a table of 4 under 10s - glasses etc were dropped and smashed, they were all on ipads. The gents toilets were flooded. As expected the food was good - but surprised Ramsey put his name on this level of overall experience, no longer good value for money.

The lighting and menu presentation made the menu difficult to read. The server was great. The Fish and Chips that came with the 3 course selected meal was cooked great, light and flaky but lacked flavor. The sticky toffee pudding was nothing like his Hells Kitchen Vegas either. The Vegas version was excellent this version was not. Overall it was still a great experience maybe I was just expecting more as I was comparing to his Las Vegas Hells Kitchen!

Not as brilliant as I would have expected for a Gordon Ramsey restaurant. Starters were very nice (especially umami wings), main courses were decent but not standout (eg the fish was lukewarm). Overall not disappointing but not the best.

We were really looking forward to our meal here having travelled from Manchester for a weekend away. The location is great and the restaurant feels cozy. We ordered the Prime Rib for two, spinach and Mac and Cheese. We also tried a few signature cocktails. Our issue was inattentive service and cold food on arrival. There was a large group and I understand, having been a waitress for many years, that this can impact the kitchen. Our server never checked on us after our food arrived. I am sure if it had arrived promptly, it would have been a better experience. The evening was saved by the kind manager, Anna. She was sympathetic and as a result, I feel able to give a 3 star review. Was hoping for a 5 star experience, but I will say that Anna is a 5 star asset.

A truly fantastic experience! First time in London and first time in this restaurant accompanied by friends. We shared an appetizer, a fillet Wellington including side dishes and a dessert with their own ice cream. For the fillet, generous portion, consumed by three people. Note of merit for the young, attentive and largely Italian staff. The only negative note was the espresso coffee, but undrinkable 😝 it was kindly offered. Downstairs, next to the bathrooms, there is a door with a large red question mark... Look for it!

It was my first trip to London, so we decided to go to a Gordon Ramsay restaurant for the first time to try his famous Beef Wellington. The interior and vibe of the restaurant was modern and nice. However, the waiters were so-so. They will help you, but they respond very curt and I didn’t feel very welcomed. You could say that it’s because it’s busy so they don’t have a lot of time to spend at each table, but they could at least smile and pretend they like working there. You would think that employees at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant would be trained appropriately since they ‘represent’ Gordon. I work at a restaurant myself so I expected more friendliness from the employees. We ordered the tomato soup en chicken wings as starters, since the Beef Wellington would take 45 minutes. I really liked the tomato soup but the chicken wings were so-so. The Beef Wellington was worth its price since it was quite big for 2 people, but because of the starters I was already quite full after one slice. The mashed potatoes tasted good as well, but a bit too salty. We also ordered mac and cheese as an extra side, but we were so full, we only ate half of the dish. Overall experience was alright. Maybe I expected too much. If I visit London again I don’t think I would visit again. Maybe I would try a different Gordon restaurant but not Heddon Street Kitchen again.

I love the warmly-lit space; it feels like a temple to celebrate communion between people. We had superb service, led by Lidia. It’s amazing how great service will transform most any night into a perfect occasion. The food, in ways, exceeded my expectations. (Lots of times, recognizable chef-owner names don’t translate into consistently good food). But it was clear they cared. Thanks again, Lidia!

Okay I’m going to be completely honest here. We were in London for vacation and I’m a huge Gordon Ramsay fan so we went here for our fancy night out. We got the full Wellington experience. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The service was good. The food was neither. The Wellington was okay. I’m willing to figure we just don’t like some of the mushrooms used in the duxelles. The pastry used was clearly from a frozen package. The mashed potatoes were straight out of a box. Real potatoes don’t taste like that. They were horrible. The butter and cream never blended and they had the consistency of concrete. Real potatoes don’t taste that way. My home cooked ones are better. It was bad enough that we didn’t order dessert. Such a let down. I’d maybe eat here again and get something else but for $150 meal at a Gordon Ramsay establishment I expected so much better. Oh and there’s a speakeasy underneath it that looked super cool but was closed for a private event

We had previously been in the Heddon Street Kitchen for drinks and my son got an ice cream, so after reviewing the menu, we figured it would be a good place for a casual dinner. Unfortunately, they are trading on Ramsey's name but I seriously doubt he has ever been there and has simply licensed his name. The food was bland at best, but honestly, it was simply not very good. Ramsey has approx. 90 restaurants using his name and maybe he needs to introduce some sort of quality control, rather than simply selling out. There are many excellent casual food restaurants in London, and this is simply not one of them.

Three out of the four dishes we ordered needed more flavor. There was no salt or pepper in the table which could have helped. The hamburger was good. The desserts were sensational, as well as the appetizers.

I do like Joe Allen's, but the prices really are becoming ridiculous. My sister and I had dinner the other night and, whilst the food was good (as was the service), I wouldn't return due to the cost. Two shrimp burger mains, one bottle of wine, one coffee, one additional medium glass of wine, tap water... £120 with service!!! Sorry, Joe Allen, but your price point has pushed me away.

Just one of the best burgers I've tasted. I was expecting McDonald's or a bit better. But the burgers were just so tasty and rich. I was so impressed. The surroundings do not give the burgers credit.
