We went to this lovely restaurant last night - absolutely amazing food, great atmosphere, attentive staff and reasonably priced. The salmon with prawns was delectable, so was the chicken stack with the most mouthwatering leek sauce. What a lucky find on our first night in Tenby - we would recommend and will surely return before the end of our holiday.
We’re down for the weekend and just picked this place at random, to be honest wasn’t expecting too much.
We were pleasantly surprised, all the food was piping hot, all home made, or so it seemed, generous portions, and very tasty for “a pup meal”. Would defo come back to here.
Staff were friendly and helpful, didn’t rush us to eat, 6 of us with a mixture of staters and all mains with sides (we couldn’t manage pudding, which I I was gutted about) all come to £120. Which normally at home would be closer to £200.
The burger pattie was over cooked as was the bacon. Cheese was tasteless. Good bun, salad topping and sauce, a relish would have been nice option. Plenty of proper chips. Onion rings again tasteless. There were several other burgers on the menu and specials board.
My wife enjoyed the Cajun chicken.
Beer and wine were good.
Service was excellent.
Gorgeous cafe overlooking the water. Had a great breakfast there - a generously-sized sausage and bacon bap. Food came out quickly and the staff were friendly, can’t ask for more!
Amazing meal at the rising sun , the food was gorgeous and the staff so knowledgeable about the menu and drinks ; a fab evening . Will def visit again when next in the area . Thank you
This place is brilliant! We arrived on a day when we hadn't booked. We were travel weary and the fantastic team made certain that we were looked after, food and drink wise, even though they had a full house. The people here are really lovely, friendly, accommodating and couldn't do enough for us! I HIGHLY recommend The Inn at the Sticks.
Always came here for a burger over the years and changing of hands.
Had one this week (Monday 10th March) the burger was tasty but overcooked, so dry. Chips were nice but tasted like just ordinary salt, no hint of rosemary!
Wow... in my experience..the positive reviews here are so, so wrong.
Could have been a 'bad night' but suspect this place is a case of 'Emporer's New Clothes' in a town with little in the way of fine dining (and I have sampled such across the world).
Very disappointing as the latter is was what I expected... and all being well, was prepared to pay handsomely for.
In summary however, the food was not expertly cooked and in parts, unpleasantly over flavoured (arrived a bit on the quick side) ...all from a rather limited menu and accompanied by an excessive wine list that attempts to compensate for a poor quality product... all vastly overpriced (for what you end up getting).
In addition, while service adequate, downgraded as older waitress rather 'brusque'... with space / tables so compacted you are constantly reached across. No where for coats or bag storage you just have to sling them over your chairs or dump them on the floor around the table, adding to the 'cluttered' feel.
Probably wouldn't be as bad if they didn't try to ram as many tables as possible into what is a pretty boutique space.
I am not averse to complaining, but we just wanted to finish up what we could and leave. Basically, our bad for going there and all in all.. being reasonable people, while what we got, we considered substandard ... we did get 'something'.
'Suck it up' as they say (given opinions re the food, no double entendre intended).
