Welsh tapas. Delicious, different. A bit on-trend, though, with its array of vegan dishes. Don't hope for a Sunday roast here. Staff very polite and attentive. Building a little bit cold. Great array of wines, sherries, vermouth. Eye-wateringly expensive. Expect £100+ easily for a couple, with drinks.

We booked here after a recommendation from the owner of the AirBnb we’re staying at. Well it didn’t disappoint. Lovely staff, fantastic food, great wine. The food was delicious, so full of flavour, and portion size just right. The staff were so friendly, relaxed and not pushy. Definitely a place to come back to when we are next in the area. A great way to start celebrating my husband’s 65th birthday.

We booked this for lunch for our wedding anniversary and so glad we did. We had an amazing array of dishes all absolutely delicious and good wine to accompany it. Our dogs were also made very welcome and there was a very relaxed atmosphere. Having shared 5 savoury dishes and two desserts we left with full bellies! We will definitely be returning soon and even though we live less than an hour away are tempted by the rooms so we can immerse ourselves fully in all this lovely area has to offer….and of course the amazing food and wine at Inn at the Sticks!

Rang many many times over 2 days to book a table with no answer. Called in whilst in the village, pushing open the door that had 'open' chalked on it. Stood for several minutes at the bar, next to a pile of used crockery whilst 2 members of staff perused a customer's whatsapp photos. Finally received a moments attention to be told they were fully booked for the rest of the day yet there were several free tables. We asked if the number we had been ringing was correct - the waitress said she didn't know and that the phone had been ringing a lot so they hadn't answered. They couldn't have been less interested. We had been really looking forward to trying the this venue but struggle to see where the reputation has come from. We couldn't have felt less welcome - and spent our money elsewhere.

As a self-proclaimed gastronome this little gem of a restaurant had been on my radar for a while, and boy did it more than deliver on everything you want from a dining experience.. Every member of staff was on point, none moreso than lovely Lauren, who took our phone booking and once we arrived got our exquisite lunch up and running on a high. We stayed for so long, through a shift change that was seamless and the service was impeccable, everyone attentive, accommodating and effortlessly charming. Then there’s the ‘food’ itself, which seems like such a lame word for true culinary delights. Chef’s please take a bow. Every single dish was nothing short of exceptional, from the divine cockle popcorn that you could eat by the bucketload, to the fabulous and fresh heritage tomato salad, the tantalising tuna sashimi and the sensational sticky pork and bok choy, to name just a few of the many highlights, were all a feast for the senses. And as for the desserts, it’s fair to say they were off the charts, especially the luscious lavender panna cotta, an absolute triumph and the perfect way to end an unforgettable all round experience. Having been fortunate enough to visit some of the best restaurants both in the UK and overseas, this is up there with the very best. It wouldn’t be a surprise if at some point their current richly deserved accolades reach Michelin starred level. Put simply Inn At The Sticks is just WOW. Welcoming, Outstanding, and Wonderful. Literally cannot wait to return.

It was presented as a kind of Welsh tapas, however, no tapas has ever tasted so good. The menu is full of amazing culinary delights. Great atmosphere and good drinks menu but the food was OK at best. Small plates range from £9 to £20 and of the 8 we tried, only 2 delivered on taste, despite everything looking fantastic. The beef and perl las pie (£15) and the bara brith sticky toffee pudding (£9) were highlights, but most dishes lacked flavour. We trust chefs to season the food, but this didn't happen at the Sticks. The blandness was a huge disappointment. At about £60 per head for lunch exc drinks, my expectations were not unreasonable. As he cleared the table, the waiter asked if everything had been okay, that word pretty much summed up the meal. Definitely worth a visit for a glass of wine or local beer but cannot recommend the food.

We came to the village as a group of friends meeting up with our friend who lives there. She recommended the Inn at the Sticks and WOW it did not disappoint. There were five of us and between us we had around 15 dishes plus bread and olives and I cannot fault any of them. From the quality f the ingredients, presentation through to flavour combinations everything was exceptional. The specials apparently change weekly or so and the staple dishes on the main menu are not to be missed. Stand outs were the Hen of the Wood mushroom dish, the Cawl, the Shepherd's pie, tuna sashimi, heritage tomato salad and the beetroot tartare. However it was ALL fantastic. Some of the best food we have ever eaten. What makes it so amazing is the atmosphere, to be able to eat food of that standard, while in a relaxed cosy pub environment, wearing your wellies and and walking boots - spot on. We have all raved about it non stop to anyone who will listen since going there! Looking forward to a return visit the next time I come down from London. Bravo to the whole team.

Last week I took my family here for a 70th birthday celebration. The food was absolutely outstanding, and the service was equally fantastic. I cannot rate this place highly enough. A modest facade in Llansteffan village, gives little clue to the outstanding cuisine, service and...

What can I say such a wonderful experience. I went with my partner and we stayed overnight, lunch, had dinner, two bottles of lovely wine, carva, and two small glasses of wine which was just under £300. Yes it's slightly pricey but honestly with all that it comes in at really good value. We sadly went there when the weather was horrible so I would recommend going when it's a bit nicer weather as a walk on the beach and having ice-cream would be the lovely icing on the cake we couldn't get, but we plan to go when the weather is nice. The staff and owners are the most lovely people you will ever meet, they made us feel welcome the moment you get there, they are all pretty relaxed Food: I highly recommend the Popcorn cockles and Welsh lavavbread (I normally hate lavavbread) but all the dishes were amazing Drink: treat yourself to a glass of cava to start your meal and the albrino is perfect as a bottle or a large glass with your food. We also had a rose but I thought the other wines we had were slightly better, but ask the owner for a more in-depth knowledge of wines and what would be better suited for your tastes. Room: the room gets very warm, and the shower was a bit small for a 6ft guy haha but it had great pressure and we got some lovely Welsh cakes as a welcome. I look forward to coming back and making it a home away from home when we want a little get away.

What a fabulous dinner this was! Teej (formally of Curado in Cardiff and Ultracomida) and her amazing team have done wonders in this small village, and Inn at the Sticks is just the perfect place to get away for the evening and have a nice night with quality, original food and drinks. And the rooms were excellent too - comfy, clean and well priced! AND there's a deli for drinks and food to take away too!! Highly recommended!

What can I say xx After asking and hearing everyone talk so highly about the food, staff and decor of Inn At The Sticks, I have been following them on instagram for quite a while now so I booked 2 rooms for our friends and us. We checked in at 2 pm, were welcomed like family and had drinks at the bar. We went for a lovely walk to the castle with amazing views. Then back at the pub we discussed the menu and the specials, asked advice and ordered several dishes to share and taste. Delicious food, by far the best in West Wales at the moment. We felt the passion about their food, pub and service from everyone. Then we sat by the fire on the sofa in the Deli and played cards and drank lovely wine. Our rooms were also lovely and comfortable, breakfast was delicious with 2 courses. Thankyou so much for our experience and tasty food xxx

There's new life in the old inn..... Llansteffan's charm isn't just in its serene walks and dog-friendly beaches. It's in the culinary rebirth of The Inn at the Sticks, now under the dynamic Teej, a culinary wizard. Who's Teej, You Ask? For those unfamiliar, Teej was the heart and soul of Curado in Cardiff. Known for her warmth and deep knowledge, Teej was a familiar, kind face to many. But little did we know of her hidden culinary talents, which she has now brought to with Debs and Mel to The Inn at the Sticks. What's new at the Inn? Walking into the revamped Inn, you're greeted by an array of small plates that pack a punch of flavour. Who knew carrots could be this exciting? We're talking about Yorkshire puddings the size of a baby's head, a selection of carefully chosen Spanish wines, and dishes that leave you longing for more. Their smoked trout is a revelation – hot smoked trout served with celery, apple, and caperberries, all brought together with a tonka bean and sherry vinegar mayo. Not our average dish of choice. Then there’s the brisket of beef, served with a gigantic Yorkshire pudding and those unforgettable carrots. Not to forget the cottage pie, a warm belly hug after a fighting through storm Isha. Let's talk desserts - because at The Inn at the Sticks, they're a serious affair. The Bara Brith sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch & tea sauce and the Penderyn Merlyn cheesecake are not just desserts. They are a celebration of Welsh heritage and flavours. Teej and her team have brought a bit of that Spanish flair from Curado, intertwining it seamlessly with local Welsh charm. The result? A culinary experience that’s both familiar and exciting, fresh and new. The Inn at the Sticks isn't just about the food. It's about that warm, welcoming feeling and that's down to the team of strong, inspiring women at the helm, the Inn isn't just a place for a pint (though their ales are still as delightful as ever); it's a destination for food lovers. Add to that their cosy rooms and the charming deli, and you’ve got the perfect spot for indulging in good food, sipping on cracking wines, and taking those serene coastal walks. Croeso yn nôl ♡

What a very memorable food experience we had at ‘Inn at the Sticks’ restaurant in Llanseffan. It was a wonderful dining experience, absolutely superb! It’s got to be the next up and coming Michelin starred restaurant for Wales, surely? The food was truly scrumming, I was the first person to try their delicious Welsh Rarebit and it didn’t disappoint, the staff are wonderful along with the ambience and fantastic drinks! Well done to you all, keep it up and we can’t wait to come back soon.
