We went to this lovely restaurant last night - absolutely amazing food, great atmosphere, attentive staff and reasonably priced. The salmon with prawns was delectable, so was the chicken stack with the most mouthwatering leek sauce. What a lucky find on our first night in Tenby - we would recommend and will surely return before the end of our holiday.
We had a really disappointing experience at the restaurant following the change in ownership.
For a number of years we have visited this restaurant and have spent a number of New Year Eves with them.
Unfortunately, our visit last night was a shock to the system. The restaurant has gone from being a buzzing environment with great food and great wine, to a building that was less than half empty with covers - 6 tables in fact with poor food and an even worse wine choice.
The waitresses were attentive, but apart from that unfortunately we cannot advocate much else.
The restaurant is a staple of Tenby and we were extremely sad to see and experience it in its current decline. Hopefully it can be arrested and returned to its former standard.
The food was below average and despite 5 courses, containing different ingredients it very much all tasted the same.
The wine menu now has an extremely limited choice of four red and four whites - not want you would expect for this type of restaurant.
Other half really rated this place and it ain't cheap! Portions were large, but the "salad"was dreadful, and the rest of the food bland and unexciting. The lefthand side of the restaurant is dull, dull, dull - guess where we were seated - and you're lucky if you get to see much of the inattentive waiting staff. Basically, not much cooking goes on here, it's just stuff from the grill, freezer or the big bowl of chopped up "salad". Not in a hurry to go back, as it's very expensive for what it is.
Lovely welcome on arrival, attentive service. Although we only had cake, the food that was being served to others looked amazing. Will definitely return for a meal
I can't even explain how amazing the food was. The place is very cosy and didn't feel cramped or busy despite being full! Every course was outstanding and the staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful with recommendations! My husband and I both agreed that it was the best meal we have ever had, it was just excellent food and the most delightful flavour pairings. We will be back!
Had a lovely lunch here mid-week with a fabulous view over the bay. It’s more expensive than a lot of places, but also serves much better food. We both had beef and stout pie with chips and it was absolutely delicious, full of rich flavours and a good size portion. The tiny side salad was the only minor thing which could have been better. Desserts were amazing too. The staff are very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I would definitely recommend this place for a treat.
We stayed in Little Haven last weekend and ate at The Castle 3 times. Every meal was absolutely delicious - the steak, fish and chips and to top it all the Sunday roast - not forgetting the desserts. Ingredients supplied locally and cooked to perfection.
The service from Gunny and Tom was outstanding and the atmosphere is so friendly and relaxed. So lovely to also be able to take our dog in - he thoroughly enjoyed some tasters!
Thank you so much and look forward to visiting again soon.
Massive disappointment. Booked to go here on our first night in Saundersfoot. The menu looked interesting.
Decided on the lamb shank with mash.
The waiter was perfunctory, no smile but not rude. The meal came and I’ve never seen so little meat on a lamb shank, I huge bone and a very small silver of meat. The mash was fine to start with but there was so much gravy that over a vert short space of time the mash and gravy became mush.
The physical plates very very small so the food was piled on top of each other making it very difficult to cut the meat and my wife found it very difficult to cut her gammon. She mentioned this to the waiter and he really had no interest.
I gave up on my food and when the waiter picked up the plates to take them away, he asked if everything had been ok. I said no and he plonked the plate back down in front of me, clearly annoyed at what I’d said. Once I explained to him what my issue was, he said he’d have a word with the chef.
A few minutes later he arrive at the table with the bill and said nothing more.
We been to Saundersfoot a few times, but this was our first time at Harbwr, it will be our last as there are much better restaurants in the village.
Best fish and chips I've had since childhood. Staff were all kind and polite. Service was really quick. Nice and clean establishment. Definitely recommend.
