Popped in for an afternoon drink. Excellent service, would definitely go again, loved sitting outside and watching the world go by.

I was invited to join the above Burry Port Motorcycle Club who meets here in the Summer, every Wednesday evening, and weekend Rideouts also take place . Mal the Elvis look alike and Sound alike Landlord and Owner , sang for his customers, for free last Saturday evening, when I was there ! Thankyou to the Customers of The Portobello Inn , and I hope you will reconsider doing some Typical Pub Food ! Basket meals only, would be good ! X

Good old fashioned local pub, full of character and interesting artefacts (including old motor bikes). Dogs are welcomed here (which is unusual for Burry Port) as are the dogs' owners! Their Double Dragon ale is delicious by the way.

We stayed in holiday let next to Portobello pub. We were there 5 nights and ended up joining the locals for 3 nights. Music by jukebox and mostly olddy music which makes a change sometimes. Dogs are welcome and everyone we met are friendly and make you and dogs feel welcome. We will be sure to pop in again should we be in the area.£2.40 a pint bargain. Ok yes toilets could do with attention but overall a nice pub.

I must admit its not the best pub I have ever been in or the cleanest. But we had a great night out here there was karaoke. Plus what was really, really strange is that they have a radiator out the back so its great if you are a cold person and need to go for a cigarette. The beer is a good price as well.

This is a typical Welsh town pub. I visited late afternoon during the week and found the place full of hardened drinkers who were deeply engaged in studying the educational benefits of Tipping Point on the TV. This is a town that no longer benefits from the coal and dockyard industry and each man's face was etched with a thousand stories..I stood in the bar for a while watching Spot the Dog, a little pooch of the terrier brand, puke up on the carpet. The owner swiftly removed a poop bag from his pocket and lifted 90% of the offending article; leaving a small but significantly smelly pile of Spot's saliva glinting menacingly in the sunlight. It was at this point that I decided to try and find some internet connection near the open window next door.I was greeted by the dulcet tones of Meat Loaf who apparently would do anything for love but he won't do that ..... I chuckled at the mental image of Meat Loaf puking on the bar carpet next door. The jukebox howled in pain for the whole of my stay with a smudge of Elvis, T-Rex and Amen Corner (If Paradise Is Half As Nice made me chuckle a little more about the paradise I was currently experiencing). The pub does however sell a particularly well-kept pint of Felinfoel Double Dragon at only £2.40 a pint. There is a pub wifi but it is not open to strangers. However, it transpired that if you sit near the window you can pick up a good 4G signal. The pub offers food but Spot the Dog put me off from chancing the culinary skills of the Michelin star menu. So, I didn't try the food. Should you drop a crisp or peanut on the floor, before you consider picking it up and eating it, remember Spot the Dog!Will I go back? Yes I will but probably better I avoid visiting here in future once this review is published on Trip Advisor.
