This has been my local pub for years. Went last night for a drink, was told private party, yet nobody was in the bar area. Went to the Bridge instead, far better. Never going back here again, supposed to be a public house??????????

I went for christmas day with family. The service and staff were amazing, the food and drinks were lovely. It was very cozy and welcoming. Would visit again.

Xmas Day... .Oh dear, what a terrible experience we had. Booked a table for 2pm and pre-ordered our food about a month or so before. We arrived at 1.50pm, and waited to be seated, but no-one greeted us. The waiter walked past us as if we weren't there. I saw my name on a table and asked a young girl if we should sit down. My husband went up to the bar and bought a drink. Then we waited..... and waited...... There were 2 other tables that had booked dinner for 1.30pm. They also were waiting for their starters. 2 more couples came in for a 3pm sitting. At approx 3.30pm the waiter came out with 2 x starters and went to one of the couples who had come in for 3pm. My patience was running out and I called the waiter over to remind him we had been there since 2pm. He went away, came back and said ours was next. Finally at 3.50pm, our soup arrived, and it was very tasty. We then waited for our dinner. By 4.30pm it still had not arrived. The other 1 30pm guests were either now eating a starter or some had received their main course. I had enough by then and decided to leave. The manager and waiter were very apologetic etc, and said it was their first year, but Im sorry, enough is enough.

Terrible service, very slow. Felt sorry for the poor woman sorting out the problems. Main courses were inedible, over cooked and burnt. We had a child with us who had to wait ages for her food but at least hers was edible.

Visited this evening and all of our party had a wonderfully cooked meal. Restaurant was warm and inviting and all staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back soon.

We went last minute and had the best welcome. We hadn't been for a while and the new owners were extremely welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Stacey was very very helpful and we had an absolutely delicious meal. We will definitely be returning.

Genuine welcome from Tasha and Stacey. Food served quickly was of excellent quality and very reasonably priced. Considering the new management have only been in post for 9 weeks I consider they are trying exceptionally hard to please their customers and deliver a quality service. Will definately visit again.

Had a fab meal at Tafarn Morlais tonight. Stacey and Tasha were really friendly and welcoming. Had drinks to the table which not all places do. Food was spot on and chips were perfect. They even accomodated an off menu item (timewise). Not been here in a while but will be coming back soon. Very reasonable prices too.

Food was amazing, great and fast service! 10/10. The chips are triple cooked and they are amazing.

I used to come here a few years ago for food and drinks which used to be good.Now it's gone very downhill as there's no atmosphere there at all and not even a nice welcome..2 weeks before Xmas the place should be really busy but hardly a sole in sight.Unfortuatley it needs owners who can turn it back to what it was and give the locals something worth visiting!.Me and friends will not be coming back here until it's had major improvement

Second time having the rump steak with the beef dripping sauce. Absolutely out of this world on both occasions the steak melts in your mouth and the sauce is to die for! such a clean establishment and staff are amazing ! Stacey makes everyone feel so comfortable and goes above and beyond for all customers that enter 10/10 guys

Main courses were very good although one person in our party thought her sausages were overcooked.Had to ask for spoons,sugar but this could have been down to one person available who hadn't expected us to have desserts as well.

Went to the Morlais today for a Sunday roast one of the worst meals I have ever had. When I booked I was sure to mention that we needed 1 gluten free meal as an allergy not an intolerance. My husband meal was served without mash potatoes or gravy as they didn't have gluten free roast potatoes were deep fat fried not roast. Stuffing balls were dripping in oil having also been deep fried . My vegetable were cold , very disappointed as the restaurant was not busy. Waited over an hour to be served our food. Sorry won't be visiting again.

The welcome was very warm and friendly, and the steak was the best I've had in a very long time. It was delicious!

Visited today to find it is now under new management. Stacey and all the staff very friendly , polite and very helpful the food was very reasonable and of excellent quality willl definitely be back shortly and highly recommend to all

Had a really nice meal here today with my we mum both enjoyed the gammon was lovely It was very quiet as people don’t realise it’s open on a Monday which is great as not many places are

We visited last Saturday evening, four adults and a toddler. On arrival we made ourselves known to the bar person who checked we had a booking and took us to our table, promptly saying you “order drinks and food at the bar, and it’s pay as you go”. Which we did and here it gets interesting. Adult meals ordered and a child’s chicken nuggets. A few minutes later the waitress arrived at our table to say sorry no chicken nuggets so we ordered sausages. This substitute was accepted, however, when the food arrived it was chicken nuggets! My burger arrived last and I was told “ here is your burger, I don’t know what it is but it’s what you ordered.” My wife’s lasagne was cold so that was returned to be heated. After food we went up to the bar for some drinks and a vanilla ice cream, paid for them only for the waitress to return to say “no vanilla.” So again, a substitute was accepted. Overall our food was ok, however, there were several complaints from adjacent tables. The restaurant was only about 25% full and the waitress was complaining that she needed help. Her superior arrived and apologised saying that these issues occurred because of a big order from the table behind us( 8 adults!!!!!) The last time we ate here was when Lisa and Wayne were managing. Since they left the standard has fallen dramatically and we won’t be visiting again while the present owners are in place.

Food was underdone and took an hour from ordering to being served eventhough the place wasn't busy ...I wouldn't have served it to anyone let alone to a paying customer...

Turkey dinner was absolutely delicious,a large variety of vegetables and gravy boat each (many places only serve one between all of you ) friendly staff and very helpful. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable meal 👍👍👍👍

Haven’t been here for a few years, however the food was lovely and very fast service. The Sunday roast was beautiful and very tasty. I will happily come back again.

I came here for some food and drinks with my friends. We didn't book ahead and there was 5 of us but they were very accommodating! The food came speedily and was exactly what was described. Delicious! The staff all went above and beyond for us and gave excellent service to all of us and gave a great explanation on the allergy policy to one of us who suffers from a nut allergy. Would 100% recommend coming here and we shall certainly be returning! We had a hunters chicken, a gammon with egg&pineapple, a mac&cheese with popcorn chicken, an ultimate veggie burger, and a doner kebab....all delightful amd would suggest anyone to try. Speedy service, friendly faces and we felt so welcomed.

Awful service drinks arrived quickly food not so quick hunters chicken small amount bbq sauce over cooked chicken chips were nice finished meal waited but waitress and cook busy doing Xmas table as we were the only people in place expected better service ordered pudding waitress carried 2 jugs of custard on plate and 2 bowls 1 balancing on her chest sticky table as well and empty vinegar bottle on the whole disappointed lunch

Really good visit here for a few pints with my brother. Friendly staff, quality beer, couldn't ask for much more. Definitely recommend.

Arrived for lunch today with guest. We were the only two in the restaurant however had to wait for the waitress to take our drink order. Our meals came after a lengthy wait unfortunately the chicken breast I ordered was so tough and dry that the knife would not cut it. I complained to but instead of taking my plate away it was left on the table. After 15 minutes a chicken breast was brought to me on a tea plate when I said the rest of the meal was cold the waitress walked away again leaving the meal on the table to return again after 10 minutes mumbling under her breath as she put a soup bowl containing chips on the table. Of course the chicken breast was now cold however by this time I had given up and ate a couple of the chips. The original meal was still on the table. When I complained to the waitress she sullenly said we have had a busy morning before opening. Needless to say that this adverse experience has put me off ever bringing guests to the Tavern Morlais again.

Tonight I rang on the off to book as my wife out and I was with the children. I was greeted by a very welcoming lady called Lindsay which was very accommodating. Arrived at the pub with my friend and his kids. We were very pleased with the service from Lindsay, she was very chatting, friendly and a credit to the pub.

Arrived at 12.10 today for a reservation for 8 covers at 12.15, only to be told that because of a delivery they wouldn't be opening till 1pm. I had had a confirmation on my phone at 10.45 to say that my table would be ready. As my group were elderly and infirm, we were not prepared to wait. Deliveries should be arranged out of opening hours, or extra staff taken on to help. Shall not be returning in a hurry. The Brige(up the road) were very accommodating, thankfully

Came here a few years ago and it was lovely the food was really nice and it was packed. My partner and I decided to go for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, I was worried it would be full and they couldn't fit us in. I was very wrong, when we pulled up we thought it was closed as there was no other car's in the carpark. We walked in wondering if they stopped doing food but no they were serving. We were the only people there so helped ourselves to the menu and chose our table outside. We both ordered the lamb chops with "buttery mash" and gravy at £15.95 each. The food came quickly enough but as soon as we seen it we were disappointed. The buttery mash was just wet, flavourless and weirdly no texture, the gravy was just gravy granules, the peas were overcooked and the lamb chops were so tough we couldn't cut them. Another couple came for a drink and left, left their glasses no staff came to collect them, no staff came to ask if our food was alright. Will definitely not be going back.

Food shocking found out its changing hands soon to marsons. Fish was ok but teastes of burn oil fat chips were think they warmed up in microwave soft and oily. Misses food gammon was like looking like not cooked no colour to it and salty. All of the 10 of us had issues with food plus we were the only ones in the resturant. Shocking never going again.

I visited here for the first time with my husband as I recently moved to the area. We loved our meal it was delicious and the service was excellent. Being a vegetarian I had the red Thai curry with rice and chips. Food was piping hot. My husband is fussy with his steak and he's usually disappointed wherever we go but he thoroughly enjoyed his rump and it was cooked to perfection. After our meal we went into the cosy bar with a log burner blazing to have a very enjoyable few drinks. As it's within walking distance of my home we will definitely be returning. What a lovely place to have on my doorstep. Also being dog friendly is a gem and I'm sure we will be stopping off in the beer garden on our walks.

Me and my wife went here for our first time and we both had a beautiful meal, I'm a big steak fan and I must say I've never been happy with any I've had in previous venues , but this was without doubt my best and it was cooked the way I asked perfectly . So it's nice that my needs were meet . The wife had the Thai curry which she absolutely loved. The staff were very polite and professional as well, after our meal we went into the bar area which had a log fire burning it was a really lovely evening so 5* from us and we will be back soon for sure.

Family friendly really tasty food and plenty of if . Amazing service.. Atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and nothing was too much trouble. Non pretentious which I can't stand just good food at affordable prices and fantastic quality cannot recommrned enough.

We arrived just before 1pm and left at 130pm. We had a drink order taken at 1:10pm, drinks we never received and our food order was never taken. They obviously don't have enough staff. Wasted our time!!!!

Steak came on plate without baked potato. Was told chef had gone to shops so she would ask him about it when he came back. After 10 minutes ate steak as it was going cold. When paying was told even though half of plate was missing I had to pay full price as you pay for meat and everything else on plate is free. I asked if you ordered chicken peas and chips and they only served chicken would that be full price and waitress said yes they are free extras. Disgusted. Avoid at all costs.

Been to the pub a few times with family and as a couple, always excellent food, especially the Sunday carvery. One is sure I have noticed lately is the waiting staff arnt quite so observant

Booked a table here for 3 people on November 1st for Xmas Dinner December 4th . Was looking forward to it, and my daughter took a day off from work. On arrival to our dismay IT WAS SHUT no phone call nothing NADA all the lights were on , rang several times guess what ? NO ANSWER . How can you run a business? 3 very irate and stressed X customers.

A great venue for a mid-week lunch. The menu is really extensive and very reasonably priced. Perfect portion sizes. Service was good. Plenty of off-road parking.

I have been here a number of times but never done a review for this establishment so I think it’s about time. Never had a bad meal here consistency is the key and this restaurant has it. Food is excellent very tasty and always hot. The Sirloin is highly recommended. Service is very good, staff are friendly and polite and always do a check back. Prices are quite reasonable. What I like about this restaurant is the consistency hot food, tasty food and good service.

Terrible food quality. Thought we would try a takeaway. Wish we hadn’t bothered. Everything was cold. Nothing was fresh about it. Felt like it was cooked at lunchtime and warmed up and put in a tray for us for dinner. Couldn’t even finish it. No sauce with it. Absolutely gutted our evening has been ruined with terrible quality food. Tasteless!

We arrived and waited by the bar to be served which did take a longer than anticipated. Unfortunatley, the pint of Carling was undrinkable but was replaced on request. We asked if we could order a bar meal that was met by a reluctant member of staff who checked his watch at approximately 18:45. Food was below average to be honest which was disappointing. The staff were not visable most of the time. The chef (who seemed to be in charge) was very vocal at times and could be heard in the bar. When we mentioned to the member of staff, that came to check on our meal, that it was 'not great' he promply left to report back to the chef (which was clearly visible to us) although nothing was fedback to us as customers. A family member also tried to order via JustEat at approximately 19:00 which was declining orders despite there being a very small number of people in the bar and restaurant. Very disappointing unfortunately 😕

This is our 'go to' place for food. Sunday Lunch is amazing with beautifully cooked meat and an excellent selection of vegetables. Staff are helpful and very friendly. The daily menu is extensive and Tafarn Morlais is one of the few places around these days that offers an alternative to chips, ie jacket potatoes or boiled potatoes. Brilliant for those people who are counting the calories!!!! Looking forward to the Christmas Fayre in December!!!

Disgusting food and service. Not enough staff. The food was terrible, creamy garlic mushroom sauce was disgusting, no garlic taste and very watery. The way the food was served was ridiculous, meals bought to the table then having to wait for the sauces and potatoes/chips you couldn't start to eat when the food was at best warm. The dessert menu was almost non-existent, lovely looking icecream desserts menu on the table but not available to order, why put them on the table. Overall a terrible waste of time and over £400. If they can't cope with groups they shouldn't accept the booking. Would no recommend at all.

Beautiful Sunday carvery piping hot and lots of choice. Friendly staff and customers to be fair we will definitely be back when next in the area . Make sure you book in advance ...

We were visiting the area and searched for ages for a nice pub. This didn’t disappoint and lived up to its great reviews. We had the Teriyaki Chicken noodles that were delicious (and a massive plate full) and the sausages & mash, again was lovely. Dog friendly too in the bar area. Well worth a visit.
