Excellent pub. Check food times. Always two real ales on. Sometimes at least one dark.

We went here for Sunday lunch, the building looks old from the outside but it is very modern and clean inside. We were warmly greeted by the landlord and we ordered Sunday lunch. The food was lovely and the rich meaty gravy was a delight in itself. We thoroughly recommend a visit if you are ever in the area of Newcastle Emlyn.

We have been using this pub for 6 years and have always had lovely Sunday lunch, sadly it has new owners now. We were amazed that we could park on car park standing at the front usually it was full up. We ordered lunch my husband a d stepson had a normal and I had 2 course small. My first course prawns looked like they had been In the bottom of the freezer for years I ate 2 my husband and stepson tried one each and put them back onto the plate I made a salad sandwich with the half a slice of white bread and garnish. Main arrived Pork veg Cauliflour (hard) carrots lovely, French beans (seen better days) and sweetcorn (I like it but not on a Sunday Roast). Service was OK as there were only 6 people in the pub. I am sorry that I am writing such a poor review but I went expecting the same but not a patch on previous owners Sunday Lunch.

The food here is great value and very good quality. The beef burgers are particularly good. I'd go as far as saying they are the best around. The owners are very welcoming and the atmosphere is great.

Great food, well priced. Lovely staff and a friendly owner. A really nice down to the earth place and definitely recommend a visit if you're on your travels in the area for a nice pint or a bite to eat.

Lovely takeaway Sunday lunch that I had when visiting family. Seems to be getting even more popular with locals spreading the word!

We popped in for a drink. And parked outside the front as parking mainly for residents along the road. We were the only people there. They were Covid aware and chatty.

We went to the Red Lion 7th April 2 toddlers and 3 adults one of which is a Vegatarian we arrived and started to order the food there was no Vegatarian option given only meat the young lady went off to check and came back with two choices one of which was veggie sausage wich was selected. I forgot when booking the meal about the one Veggie and the Red Lion did us proud a beautiful Sunday lunch even the Vegatarian was impressed the way we all ate at the same time. We were apologised to about the meal and no Vegatarian option but we were delighted with the food, the service and all the staff are great. A big Well Done from all of us can't wait till next time (which won't be long) Thank You

It was my birthday so we decided to go for lunch last Sunday The food was amazing just like a home cooked Sunday dinner cheesy leeks were lovely as it was my birthday I had a dessert Vanilla cheese cake with cream and raspberries yummy Can't wait for an excuse to go for Sunday lunch very soon Amazing service too

Friendly pub, showed a footy match family wanted to watch. Had a nice evening. Comfortable place with a nice atmosphere for a village local.

Home cooked fresh buffet was superb today for funeral. Ladies who served it and had to make more as more people than expected turned up were very friendly and accomodating .

Everything in this pub is lovely Good service Excellent Sunday lunch Good value Only one thing which is a personal preference the gravy could be a bit thicker

A Family frendly atmosphere serving Wholesome starters and/or Sunday Lunch and the lovely large hearty Puds are delicious if you've got any room left for one that is! Everything is always piping hot from start to finish, a rarity these days. Definitely a hidden gem in West Wales and booking advisable i would say. Well worth returning time after time.

Called in this pub one Saturday night and had a wonderful meal. Decided to go for Sunday lunch and again was not disappointed. The roast beef was cooked to perfection, the vegetables was well presented and very tasty and plenty of everything. Staff were wonderful so polite and friendly. Well done to the chef and would highly recommend the Red Lion . Best around for miles.

We were visiting family who live near and went with them for Sunday lunch, Really nice lunch of Beef and Turkey with lo Ely selection of vegetables. Staff were very friendly and efficient will be going again for sure

Staying at a cottage in the area,we called into the Red Lion several times.Not only were the staff polite and friendly but so we're the locals.The food was very good but it was the way they treated us that was impressive.Despite the place being prebooked for a football presentation night they fitted us in. We were made so welcome that we will certainly return. Hi

We called in here yesterday for Sunday lunch. Enjoyed well cooked roast beef & all the trimmings. Our plates were nice & full. Everyone (including the pub locals) was really friendly. We couldn't have felt more welcome. Thoroughly enjoyed it. If you are in the area, well worth a visit. Just so you are aware, at the moment they only serve food Friday, Saturday & Sunday, so might be worth a call to double check before your visit if you're looking for something earlier in the week.

A standard pub with a nice pint . Limited food inc Sunday roast. Home for the local football team. Not over friendly for new visitors. Clean and tidy.

The folks at The Red Lion deserve every bit of recognition and praise for a warm and friendly 'local' pub. Here you will find not only friendly staff but friendly locals. There is amazing fresh cooked food available some days and evenings with fast service and good prices. The real and tap ales and ciders are fresh and optimum in taste. If you are visiting there is also B&B subject to availability. Right across the road from the famous wool museum why not pop in and say hello. English & Welsh spoken.

The Red Lion is our local pub, They no longer cook food but its a cracking little pub, has a great homely, welcoming atmosphere. Tourists and visitors always welcome, whether its for an orange juice and a game of pool with the kids or for a good booze up and a lively evening on the weekends, you'll find the place will mould around your needs.
