Came with the family for food, a great welcome with lots of choices for kids and adults alike. Would definitely recommend if in the area.

Well, disgusted by the food and by the service/comment ordered steak and Ale pie with home cut chips garden peas & Gravy----- The "WORST" I have ever experienced, warmed up chips from heaven knows when, pie also warmed up, the pastry was also hard and dry my knife could not cut it ? probably a sawknife may have been more useful--- inedible ---- complained-- never given so many rediculouse excuses before in my life, and there were two of us having the same experience ---- A RUBBISH PLACE TO EAT---- NOT RECCOMENDED --- an ABSOLUTE RIP-OFF --- NO APOLOGY OR ACCEPTANCE OF DISATISFACTION JUST EXCUSES------- NEVER AGAIN

Best sunday lunch for miles around. Beef was superb

A wonderfully welcoming & cosy pub that is still a pub! We both had a perfectly cooked medium rare sirloin with all the trimmings. The steak was delicious. The staff were very friendly & looked after us a treat. To top it all, they make a great cup of tea (as I was driving) & they had a good selection of beers which my husband felt he should try. It is a 5 minute drive from the Botanical Garden of Wales so ideal if you’re visiting & want somewhere to eat. A traditional country pub welcome with delicious food. We will be back next time we pass through.

Service was brilliant Food was fantastic. Choice of beers very poor....no local ales. Room looked tired and in need of sprucing up. Bed was really comfortable Ideal location for the Botanical Gardens.

Only one real ale and it was not available. And now no real ale at all in Porthyrhyd!

We venture here every week for the best breakfast and lunch menu in the area. The staff are amazing food delicious couldn't ask for more.

A village center pub with a few rooms for b&b. The pub menu is well priced, the food is served quickly and is good. The rooms are clean and reflect the price. The staff are very cheerful, efficient and polite. A juke box in the bar attracts the younger village population, so it can be lovely and noisy at times. There is a nice dining room at the front of the pub. A large marquee at the rear houses a pool table etc. There is a large carpark and a shop/postoffice next door.

Excellent service and lovely lunch

My wife and myself called in at the Abadam Arms on Thursday 19/01/2023, what ever you do, do not go here for a meal. The starters were over cooked, i had the breaded mushrooms which were rock hard and could not stick my fork in them. For a main meal i had a 16oz rump steak, i may as well have put my wellies on my plate and tried chewing them, left virtually all my steak and complained to the waitress. The bar maid came over and said that they would knock 10% off the price of my steak. This i was very dissapointed with as i only had a little corner of it and i should have refused to pay for it. WARNING to other's DO NOT eat here, they have a cheek to say that they serve meals as i wouldn't have fed the pigs on the local farm with the crap that they served us.

Stayed for the weekend right from the word go nothing was too much trouble. Room was clean bed was really comfy. The breakfast was so tasty . All the staff were really friendly and helpful . Would definitely come back here x

Had a lovely three night stay at the Abadam last week. Yolanda and the team are incredibly friendly and cook a superb breakfast. I'm sure all their food is excellent. The en suite double room was nice, and clean. Definitely will be back.

We stayed here overnight. The bedroom and ensuite bathroom was large and very well presented. The bed was so comfortable. We had an evening meal and breakfast both meals were presented and cooked well. But most of all the staff and Owner made us feel very welcome. We will definitely stop there again and will recommend Abadam Arms to family and friends. RECOMMENDATION 10 out of 10.

Been here on a few occasions Food is outstanding truly a family run pub & restaurant. It is also a great place to have a few drinks and a game of darts mid week, would highly recommend.

We called in for breakfast one Friday morning it was lovely food and value for money. Will definitely be going back.

Sunday Lunch. Veg served on plate, tasty but small portions. Choice of only beef or chicken.. Sent beef back too tough, replacement beef just as bad. When I had the replacement meat returned on plate the veg I had on plate was cold On payment I asked about the beef and was told they would look into the quality of the meat and I asked for a discount as they were going to charge me full price for a disappointing meal. They then took off 10%

Great friendly service and the Sunday lunch was outstanding. We opted for a 2 course lunch which was absolutely delicious.

called on the off chance and was given a good welcome. Landlady very friendly and although we hadnt booked she was more than happy to feed us. Not a huge menu but what we got was lovely. My husband had Chicken and leek pie - had a taste and it was lovely. I had chicken fajitas and they were just right - not to spicy but with a good flavour. Good portions and good value. Would highly recomment.

This is an oldie worldie pub. The food and drinks are very good and they have avarage prices. We enjoyed the service off the staff and the atmosphere in the pub.

The steak was poor quality, we could do better from the supermarket, we were overcharged for the bottle of wine until we questioned it and the owner seemed to be in the smoking area of the car park the entire time. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Try nearby pubs

I had to send my food back twice as the chicken was undercooked while my wife's steak was mostly gristle and fat sitting in a pool of grease. The staff were apologetic but the owner didn't seems to care

A warm welcome greeted us in Atmosphere, Staff and locals. We traveled with our dog, who was made to feel as welcome as we where. Amazing food , Emma Chef/owner , has complete passion for food. Room comfortable and clean, if I had to have any slight negative, bathroom could do with a little updating, however would not stop us staying again. Breakfast perfect .. would recommend this anytime.. Please note thud is a local tradition village pub, with a warm welcome and exceptional food with owner and team working exceptionally hard. It’s not a 5star corporate city centre hotel ..

Comfortable rooms, good restaurant and excellent staff. This pub/B & B is an ideal base for visiting the area including the National Botanic Gardens and Aberglasney. Very near the A48 just off the end of the M4. Make sure that you eat in their restaurant - there is an excellent choice including fresh fish and the owner and staff really make you feel welcome.

Stopped on the way to Carmarthen for lunch. Quirky looking pub with some beautiful furniture out the back. The barlady was friendly, the food was well presented, very tasty and filling. Only wish was that there was vinegar on the tables, as I forgot to ask for any. Will happily go back.

It was a stroke of luck that it rained the day we arrived at the Nearby Welsh Botanic Gardens, else we'd never have found this traditional style pub. Thursday night is Tapas night and although earlier dining than what we'd prefer, their 6 - 9pm Tapas menu won us over. Plenty of freshly cooked dishes with enough variety to satisfy my vegetarian partner. Stuffed red peppers, Manchego, Calamaris, warm bread, Olives, Green salad, King prawns in garlic, to name some of the dishes. Portions generous, prices keen. Plus, a decent selection of wines with nothing over £20. This is a rural pub where the owner puts her everything into giving you the best from her tiny little kitchen. The food is cooked with love and you can taste it. Staff and customers were delightful. Chatty and friendly. If you have to drive, there are alcohol free beers and ciders, not that we had any as we stayed upstairs in the B&B. Lovely breakfast, with killer scrambled eggs. We arrived by bicycle and our bikes had a safe place to stay too.

I stayed for three nights in this lovely old pub while visiting family. It has loads of history and character with clean modern accommodation. I slept really well. Emma and her team were perfect hosts and the locals are friendly. The food was excellent quality, well sourced produce, cooked perfectly, tasted delicious and great value for money. Best fried breakfast I can remember and the Sunday lunch was superb. I’ll be staying again soon for sure.

Atmospheric pub with a very enjoyable Sunday lunch menu. Both chose the roast beef and the portions were generous with tender meat and a good selection of vegetables. The draught beer was excellent and staff were welcoming and friendly. We will be back !

Anything I ate in the Abadam Arms was cooked with fresh ingredients there and then. I I had a really good roast, a chili and fish and chips. All really good. But as a chip snob I have to highlight the chips! Emma, the chef and owner, has produced something any Belgium chip connoisseur would be licking their fingers could not do better....only sad I missed the apparently legendary Tapas night on Thursdays.

We had an amazing food on Wednesday! I had creamy garlic mushrooms to start and it was delicious! Can tell it was freshly made! For main I had a ribeye, hands down, it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had! It was like cutting into butter! Everything was fresh and homemade! Would highly recommend!!

We wish we lived closer as this was the best meal we’ve had out in a long time. Homemade curry, great steak and the atmosphere in the pub is really friendly with locals eating out here too. We will certainly return.

Lovely local - we were made to feel very welcome - would definitely return and recommend.

Arrived with a party of 15 - and we all had a very good dinner (with very generous portions!) and went home happy and full. Very pleased.

Just returned from this B&B. Very good location as only minutes away from the Botanical gardens and near Aberglasney. Very friendly girl on the bar who was happy to chat even though she was the only one serving. Landlady very accommodating and gave us helpful directions and suggestions of local interest. We had a nice clean room at the back overlooking car park so no road noise. Nice touch with tea and Coffe and toiletries in the room. We had a fabulous meal - burger night on a Wednesday with locally sourced meat. Portions are huge! We enjoyed a pleasant evening in the pub. Breakfast was equally as good served and cooked by the landlady. All in all a good find and would definitely stay again if in the area.
