Wow, so much food, decent prices and incredibly friendly staff. Food was excellent and you won't believe the portions until you see them!!

Enjoyed a quick spot of lunch here in the sunshine with a couple of wines. Great value.

Myself and 3 of my friends had Sunday morning coffee and desserts at this beautiful, authentic place. The service was great, all desserts were homemade. We all had mixed berries syllabub. It was divine! The owner and staff were friendly and accommodating. We were so lucky to discover this hidden gem ! Will definitely come back again.

What a great place, food is first class, I had the pan fried plaice and my wife had the small cod, fantastic, the best piece of plaice I have tasted in year's and the staff were excellent, could not do enough for you, will definitely recommend and be coming back, you got to try.

Called in after walking the dogs on the beach. We sat outside on the picnic tables. Great friendly service, had a Strongbow, coffee, chips and a beautiful home made Bakewell tart. Perfectly situated for the beach and train station. There’s also a free car park opposite. There were also people having Sunday lunches which looked and smelt terrific. We’ll definitely be back.

Vegetarian options, nice chips. Friendly service as always. Would recommend to anyone. Car park opposite and nice sandy beach walk at the back too.

Lovely people, great honest food.

The kind of place you always hope to find! A simple rustic charming cafe offering really good value for money and a menu with enough interest to keep you satisfied. My partner and I had the mackerel pate and a chicken burger with chips and salad. Run of the mill you say? Well the pate was lovely (freshly made of course) and I’m not a food stealer but the burger defeated my girlfriend so I had a bit of that and it was really tasty too. Both meals came with home made coleslaw and a salad of green leaves, beetroot, strawberries, apples, grapes and mint; really really tasty! Also, we were served by two different waiting staff and they were both lovely. Oh yes, and the place is spotless. I know this all sounds a bit gushing but let’s face it, British hospitality isn’t always what it should be and this place is a refreshing find and I run a business myself (albeit not in hospitality) so I had to give credit where it’s due. Also, dog friendly, fair play all round!

What a brilliant find. We went to Ferryside for a walk and the heavens opened so took refuge in the Ferry Cabin. I did not expect it to be as good as it is. I had the chicken fillet burger with mozzarella, chorizo and pesto from the specials board but there was also plenty of choice on the menu. The staff were lovely and welcoming and it’s also dog friendly. Food arrived promptly and was presented well. Now, the food. It was lovely and I was really impressed with the side salad. I’ve never seen a cafe pay so much attention to something that is usually an afterthought in nearly every other eatery I’ve ever been too. It was a mix of leaves, beetroot, apple, grapes, radishes, tomato and cucumber with a beautiful mint dressing. What was even better is we didn’t feel rushed and we stayed for desert. Well, it was still raining after all. I had the Victoria sponge which again was just lovely. I will definitely go back. It’s right by the beach and has great mobile reception (for those who want a bite to eat while they get some work done). This place is definitely worth the visit then pop over to the White Lion for a pint of double dragon :)

We pop in every few months when in Ferryside.Food is good and the puddings are extra good.👍👍 Don't be put off by the dated decor it's now retro so back in style.

Super friendly with great food, right by the beach - so much to love. Home cooking at it's best, ranging from fish and chips, steak and stilton pies to Sunday roasts. Made with meat from the owners farm and potatoes grown on their land. Everything cooked with care and attention and home made deserts to die for, all at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended

Food and coffee was good but did not accept dogs in and on a cold windy day not so good. So nice if you don't want to take your dogs with you a little disappointed.

by the train station. Popular with locals and visitors. Friendly vibe and good variety of food. Nice welcoming mug of coffee while waiting for our tasty lunch.

Popped down the road for our tea. Fancied a chilli. Didnt disappoint as usual.My husband had the battered cod and thoroughly enjoyed. Washed down with a nice, crisp french sauvignon. So lucky to have this on our doorstep and they make lovely gluten free desserts (I'm a coeliac).

Went as a group for lunch. Food choice great, food great, and service first class. We had varied dishes and lovely desserts and wine if you want.

Used the Ferry Cabin Twice while Staying In the area 13-20 Sep with my wife Had nicely cooked Chicken and Chips the first time and nicely cooked Big Fish and Chips the second The staff were helpful and Friendly, Well worth a visit

Excellent cafe in the lovely village of Ferryside.

We have eaten here before and given an excellent review of the fish and chips... on this occasion we went for Sunday lunch and the experience could not have been any more different. Overcooked vegetables, poor quality meat, and for the pescatarian amongst us who had fish with a Sunday vegetables the fish was absolutely terrible and dry and about the size of two fish fingers inside the batter. The dessert was £5 a slice we had the Bakewell slice which was overcooked and certainly not worth the money. For what we had the bill was exuberant and we shall not return. Given our earlier review a real shame. We have seen other reviews about the owner being rude this was not our experience but such a lovely place could benefit from taking constructive feedback from these reviews.

We had a lovely lunch, sitting outside in the sun with our dog, of battered cod - me with salad, my partner's with chips. The portions are good sized and the fish itself was very fresh and tasty. The salad accompaniments went down well. All in all a friendly, cozy place which knows what's doing and does it well.

Wanted something to eat while visiting this town so popped in here. I don’t expect much as far as salads go when I’m in England, but this was a pleasant surprise. A nice big plate with lots of goodies and a perfectly cooked (not over cooked as most) chicken breast. It was also great that the fish and chips offered a choice of battered/fried and steamed! We are health conscious, so a big piece of non-battered fish was welcomed (and good). Will definitely return.

We had a super walk along the estuary beach and back to the Cabin for our lunch. Service and food was excellent and we sat outside in the sun enjoying the laid-back atmosphere. Will absolutely recommend this eater.

Had a full English breakfast at this unique village cafe, and the food and the service was second to none. The community spirit and locals all meeting up here makes this a very special place and I'll be sure to visit again and reccomrec to friends.

Nice place with good fish and chips, seats inside and outside. Dogs are allowed outside.

Unbelievably rude owner, Paul. Wouldn’t mind but I phoned to check what time they closed, was told last orders at 7.15, arrived at 6.45 to be gruffly told by Paul “We’re closed!” Thought he was joking, told him I’d phoned to check but he just shouted “No chips, we’re closed!” No apology. Go to Florries in Llansteffan or Morgan’s instead. Always friendly and lovely chips.

Lovely food and all home made, staff polite but not sure about the hair not being tied back, wearing jewellery and nail varnish and having their mobile phones hanging out their back pockets doesn’t send the most professional/hygienic impression.

Whilst walking the WCP we stumbled on this gem. The food was outstanding and the people just lovely. Made us very welcome. Paul and his team have got it right. Even down to having a laugh about LOVE ISLAND. Sensible prices, well cooked grub and a solid reputation. Keep it up.

A friendly welcome and excellent service from the charming owner and the waitress. A good menu. Everything was spotlessly clean, the glasses and cutlery were gleaming. And the main reason for eating out, the food? Our meals were delicious. We both had fresh local mullet, cooked to perfection with butter & parsley and, even better, with no skin. Good chips. Then puddings of such a high quality - my blackcurrant pie was made from a light rich shortcrust pastry full of fresh currants, not too sweet, accompanied by a generous jug of cream. A five star meal.

Had a wonderful lunch at the Ferry Cabin Cafe Ferryside last Friday.It was a beautiful day so we sat outside, lovely big garden umbrella's had been placed over the table's to help shade you from the strong sunshine.The food was excellent as always at the Ferry Cabin very generous portions,I had the fish and chips the fish was delicious the batter just melts in your mouth. If all that wasn't enough I just had to have some dessert,alsorts of dessert's to choose from only problem which one to have?? Decisions Decisions.?? If you visit Ferryside go in the Ferry Cabin Cafe for a meal you won't be disappointed great food at very competitive prices,helpful staff great chef Paul lovely pictures around & memorabilia of the village of Ferryside from years gone by, what more can I say. "Just Enjoy".

Visited lunchtime today with my husband. We both ordered large cod and chips which arrived very quickly. Food was piping hot,obviously cooked fresh for us and was absolutely delightful. We will definitely visit again. Thank you Ferry Cabin👍

This cafe is a little gem. Wholesome food, cooked when ordered and proper puddings like home made blackcurrant tart & apple crumble with custard or cream. They also have a licence so you can accompany your meal with a very pleasant sauvignon blanc or a beer and everything at very reasonable prices!

Lovely food never had cause to complain would recommended for all age groups and family's. High prices but you got to realise its remoteness and they do like to stock local supplied. after your meal take a trip on the Ferry or a stroll along the beach, returning along the village main road returning to the Cabin for nice Ice cream. Heaven !

Delious . very fresh white fish with lovely crisp batter. salads are freshly prepared and huge!! My husband had steak pie..beautiful. highly recommended. owners run a local farm so Restaurant has limited opening times (closed Wednesday) but well worth a visit.

Owner chef is extremely rude, what ever you do don't question the prices or you will be asked to leave.

The Cabin serves fresh local food (the beef is farmed by the owners, the lamb comes from a neighbouring farm, the fish tastes like they go down to the estuary and hook it out as people order it).

If you like being insulted go here, .never again. Other people agree with me and not always open when adverted they are.

Excellent food at great prices!! Highly recommended!! Freshly cooked with local ingredients. A pleasure to go there and relax.....a must for visitors to FERRYSIDE.

Don't be fooled by the location or exterior of the Ferry Cabin, this place is a true hidden gem, so much so, that I hesitate to even write a review about them. A bit shabby outside, located next to the railroad, nautical decor inside. But the food, wow! Four of us visited for lunch. Two of the four enjoyed fish and chips, of course, which arrived hot, crispy, perfect! I had a delicious steak pie, gorgeous flaky crust, steak was fork-tender, and it was just delicious. Even after all that good food, some had dessert. Creme brulee was perfect. The lemon meringue pie, when they have it, is also amazing. Can't wait to return.

The food here is absolutely fantastic, if you are visiting Ferryside or you’re a local you get the same welcome, the food is fantastic according to my husband the best fish and chips, but me it’s the burger and my daughter it’s the chicken curry, plenty of choice xx

Very nice one off holiday meal,probably never visit Carmarthen again!

Small little cafe near the beach, the decor was sea themed which was nice and the staff was pretty friendly. Good portion sizes but you do pay a bit more for it. The fish was pretty nice but the batter a little greazy.. Lovely luxury milkshakes however. Might visit again and try out something other than fish and chips next time I'm in Ferryside.

Had a family meal here and it was delicious and the portions were huge. Excellent value for money. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The seaside chippy appearance belies the quality of food which is sourced locally where possible. The restaurant/cafe sits next to the station and level crossing with plenty of parking and art installations that explain the origin of this village. The cafe owners were clearly proud of their food and we had a discussion about the fishing locally and the difficulty sourcing fish seasonally. Very much enjoyed the sliced ham and the chicken was excellent.

Even though they were really busy with the start of Sunday lunches they made time for us to have only a coffee. Much appreciated Ferry Cabin Cafe and very good coffee it was too!
