Nice place a good carvery no complaints at all.

This a fantastic place. Amazing food. The staff are incredibly friendly and make feel at home. Highly recommend that if you are Llanelli, you should call in.

The waitresses are A1, been 3 other times over the last few months, this would been my 4th time, came as a family gathering for a late birthday meal, everyone is disappointed, the carrots weren't cooked all the way through, the chef (lady) carving the meats were slow, also had to ask for mash potatoes, knowing there was a big group, you'd thought they'd make them! Also FROZEN VEG, the carrots could been used as door stops 🤦‍♂️😂, weren't satisfied at all! 0* food, 1* chef , 5* waitresses

Table service was really good but the shame can't be said for the Sunday lunch was not nice at all very disappointing, veg was hard NO MASH, NO Turkey, Dry roasts and had horrible taste, i won't be returning in the future no one even asked if everything was OK with the food, worst carvery I've ever had

Terrible service. Order was wrong no apology. We waited 45 mins only people in restaurant. Offered to bring missing items eventually after I twice showed on menu that what we ordered wasn't what we received. Repeatedly said we have what they cooked to then few minutes still try to bring missing items. I again said no we didn't want. To which was greeted by what a waste. No apology no one checked if all OK. Never go again paid bill and left. Some food ok most very sub standard

With family visiting we thought this would be good option for a Sunday lunch, however we were wrong. Initially my mum made the booking on the phone, but when they didn’t take any contact details from her she decided to pop in just to check the booking was secure as it was for 12 people. They had no record of the booking but were able to squeeze us in. Whilst there she checked that they cater for vegetarians in their carvery, yes they do, plus gravy. Great. We mentioned to the waitress once seated that there were three vegetarians, no problem. After 30 minutes the meat eaters were invited to go up to get their dinner as ours ‘wouldn’t be long’. They were all eating and ours still hadn’t arrived so I asked and she told us that someone had ‘popped to the co-op to get vegetarian sausages’! Then she brought the gravy over prematurely so I asked if she could keep it warm whilst we waited for the sausages. She put it on another table, nowhere near a warmer. When the sausages did arrive, the gravy was then stone cold and as we were the last to go up we had the remnants of soggy veg, with no staff around. By now the rest of our family had finished their meal and waited 40 minutes to be asked if they wanted dessert, 50% of which they had run out of. Meanwhile the waitress was ‘cleaning’ the tables around us spraying furniture polish on the tables from an aerosol! All in all a poor experience and we won’t be returning.

We booked a table for 3 yesterday ,old and dear friends then we decided to stay in my garden ! As I live up the road ,they delivered the most fabulous home cooked chips and scampi,piping hot to our decking and wine! Can't fault the service thank you !

Probably the worst carvery I've had, outside the sign says carvery £5.95 mon-fri 12-3, my son and I were there on the Friday at 12. I ordered two pints of Madri and two carverys, the waitress held the card reader out and I paid it was only when I got home and checked my account that I'd been charged over £27. The carvery itself was awful there was very limited choice with both meat and veg. There was only beef or turkey, I asked for both and the server couldn't cut the meat thin enough the beef just turned to crumbs and I had to ask for more turkey as I had one wafer thin slice. The veg was awful, no fresh peas just mushy peas which personally I find disgusting. The roast potatoes were inedible they were so overcooked. The parsnips managed to look burnt but yet still raw inside. The veg options were boiled potatoes, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, mushy peas, cabbage, cauliflower and carrots that was it. I definitely do not recommend.

Staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome today. Couldn't ask for better service and the food was very nice and price was very reasonable. had a booking in another restaurant as family were down from England to spread my husband ashes over the Easter period and was let down last minute with out warning. So we phoned the white lion and they fitted us in even though they didn't have space and I'm really greatful to the management and staff for helping us at short notice. will definitely book again highly recommended anyone to book. We look forward to our next visit thank you again white lion.

I don't even know where to start with describing this place. The Sunday dinner will rock your socks off. All the food is good, and the loaded fries are legendary. I mean, when did you last see actual slices of bacon on fries rather than packeted, processed, freeze-dried nonsense. They have dog friendly areas and all the pooches are very well behaved. They have a grass area available out the front, just over the road, which is ideal to give your pooch a walk. Even with the sports on it's not particularly rowdy, it's a really nice, welcoming atmosphere. All in all, it deserves way more than 5 stars.

We live in Berkshire and whenever we visit my aunt in Llanelli, Sunday lunch here is a must. The food Is amazing, the staff friendly and helpful and it is always a highlight of our visit. Thoroughly recommend, delicious.

Stay away all all costs ! We made a suggestion regarding the food to a male member of staff, then we received abusive language including swearing from the male member of staff, which is disgusting and not professional. We requested that we receive the full refund. We received our full refund and exited the premises. This review does not deserve even 1 star rating.

Friendly staff, lovely interior. Very hygienic. Parking potentially is an issue, although one can drive down the same road to find a space.

We had a carvery, I had beef, which melted in my mouth, so nice, plenty of veg to choose from. Also had white choc and raspberry roulade and ice-cream, really yummy. 😍🍨

A good pub, friendly bar staff, lively music, worth a try for those young at heart. We did not have any food but did have a few drinks.

We stopped for lunch in the beer garden with our two dogs. The food was stunning & the homemade chips are devine. We were absolutely spoiled, including the dogs who were given a bowl of water and beef off cuts. We will definitely be back, great value for money. Highly recommend.

Always good food and friendly service

Visited last week with my grandparents toddler and mum for lunch. We were asked where we'd like to sit and the waitress suggested the table by the open doors ( it was hot outside lol) which we greatly appreciated. Food came quickly, all our meals were delicious and certainly value for money. The waitress was attentive and even offered a cheaper option for my son as he wouldn't of eaten what I ordered as the portion would of been huge, so she saved me money too. I have been a few times in the past for food also and it has always been fabulous all around.

Went for a wake after the funeral, as we're mostly bikers. Leather jacket etc we all felt that we were treated with a bit of contempt. We all behaved perfectly fine. Overall it was a good send off for our brother, I just lost count how many people independently said the staff looked displeased with us.

We booked last minute for Sunday carvery, they were welcoming on arrival, drinks arrived quickly, even though they were busy. Minimal queue for carvery, fresh veg and meat. Nice clean restaurant are and pub had loads of cosy little nooks. Staff were very friendly. Really good value for money. Will certainly return in future.

Following a visit to Prince Phillip hospital we needed a meal, 2 disabled parents and 3 dogs... Thankfully we found The White lion pub/restaurant and we couldn't have found anything better!! A beautiful pub, amazing food and the very best service!! Our dogs had a water bowl brought out immediately, and the meals we ordered were quick to table... 2 of us had carvery and it was absolutely delicious, thank you guys, we'll definitely be back!!

What an amazing pub! We had excellent service considering how busy it was, so many food choices and catered to all of our group. Our food was a bit slow but we were told there was a delay in service and we were happy to wait as we booked last minute! And the food was delicious. One of the best pubs we’ve been to in a while with a great atmosphere!

Stunning food at the White Lion! I had the festive burger and my family had the carvery, clear plates all round! Perfect portions. The service wad excellent and the pub had such a warm and cosy atmosphere!

Fantastic Sunday carvery. Luckily got a table for 5 at short notice. Very accommodating with a baby chair and suitable cutlery for a 2 year old. Wonderful food, good quality and choice and generous portions. Friendly and polite service. Good choice of tasty desserts and the beer was good. Booked table for family Sunday Dinner. Pork was out of this world,choice of veg great - always puzzles me why so few places do mushy peas on a carvery - food was really fresh and the portion of beef and pork was v. generous. Reasonably priced too.

We had supper on an evening when the pub was hosting a wedding party. We were treated to some beautiful food - large portions and had all the great atmosphere and soundtrack from the wedding. Would highly recommend the chicken goujons . Best jacket spud I’ve had in ages.

Good service. Piping hot and beautiful food. Not much to say other than spectacular! The bar staff are professional, especially a recent addition of Cian; he’s a young lad but has a lot of potential. Went for a few pints not expecting much, and had a short but really good evening there. Staff were great, music playlist was great and the whole pub in general was great. Would highly recommend going by for a few pints!

After living in llanelli for nearly 4 years we've never visited this place although seen them on social media. We came here on a Saturday night Greeted by very friendly staff, speedy drinks and service. We ordered a sharing platter to start which was sooo good and filling. For main I had the mega burger - it was delicious, the home made double cooked chips even better 😍 We couldn't finish it.. we were stuffed. Nothing was too much from the staff, always asking how our meal was, asking if we needed our drinks topped up. It was excellent service. It was so nice we came back the next day for Sunday lunch. They followed covid precautions at the serve your own carvery - allowing one table at a time. Everything again was delicious we thoroughly enjoyed! After reading one bad review it could easily put you off but were so glad we came Thank you so much!

We booked for our son surprise 18th. From the initial booking to the party it was outstanding service. On the day they set it all up for me and decorated beautifully. The talk of the party was the food. Omg the food. We decided on sharing platters and nachos. Brilliant. The best was they catered for vegetarian guests and gluten free also. Unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired, after waiting a good 30 minutes our starter arrived which was a plater for two sharing and it had good size potions and plenty for two, on the whole it wasn't to bad except for the breaded mushroom which had filled with the oil they were cooked in as were the onion rings all the other items were pleasant enough (all from the freezer of course) so definitely not 10 out of ten for the starter. The main course was definitely a different story, my partner had Beef and Ail pie the normal from most average eateries today (a oblong dish with the meat/gravy and a oval puff pastry placed on the top, chips and peas. I had ordered a double lamb burger (without the mint and yougut sause) (unknown risk lol) with chips and beans. The Twice cooked chips were exceptional nice and I believe not from the freezer. The burger on the other hand had cherry tomatoes (sliced large tomatoes must have been out of stock) a few bits of onion etc in in the bun and two dry over cooked burgers that were actually burnt. On the positive side the staff were very polite. The question then was why didn't we complain and the answer is simple? Time. 30 minutes wait for starters and another 30 minutes wait for the main meal and nobody else eating, we simply didn't have the time to wait for a replacement so we decided to vote with our feet and never return and put it down to experience. 3/10 for the whole experience.

What can I say.... The Sunday lunch was exceptional. But keep room for dessert. The cheesecake and cookie dough were to die for. The staff were attentive, professional, helpful and courteous. Drinks were lovely and cold ( in particular the wine, which other establishments fail on ) 11 out of 10 Highly recommended
