The Rising Sun Inn in Pembrokeshire

We had a family Sunday roast here. We were a large group and they housed us easily. The food was fantastic and really well presented. However the table we ate from felt like a canteen. Places weren't set, no table cloth or even a placemat. It didn't align with the presentation of the food.

The campsite is being refurbished as we speak and will then be a very reasonable site which I will happily return to. The pub offers extremely good food. The site is l9cated pretty central in Pembrokeshire.

We were staying nearby and went here twice for dinner. It's recently under new ownership and the menu is greatly improved from the standard pub fare shown on the menus people have previously shown in their reviews. They do four kinds of skewers - we had the chicken teriyaki and the chicken souvlaki and they were absolutely divine. The next night we took soup and duck bon-bons for starters and burgers for the mains and again they were very high quality indeed. The staff in this place are particularly worth singling out for being friendly, chatty, helpful and generally a pleasure to be around. Whoever has taken over this place (and particularly whoever has overhauled the menu) knows *exactly* what they are doing!

Can't praise the rising sun enough. The food was incredible, the quality was way above the very reasonable pricing. The staff were very welcoming and funny which created an amazing atmosphere. Will definitely be back and have recommended this place to friends and family already.

Fab food for a party of 8 accomodated at quite short notice. Great staff and service and every meal was delicious and even the dog was made to feel welcome and enjoyed all the fuss from everyone. Thank you - see you soon x

We booked the Rising Sun for my dad’s birthday, the buffet hot and cold food was outstanding. Over 60 guests invited and everyone enjoyed the food and the lovely atmosphere. The staff were beyond helpful and always with a smile. The chef’s are a credit to you as are all the staff. Thank you so much! We would highly recommend you.

Staying in this area with our touring caravan and phoned a few days ago to book this pub for Easter Monday dinner. The landlord was very friendly on the phone and booked us a table for two, in their dog friendly part of the restaurant as we mentioned we would be bringing our dog. We’ve just left the pub after a very enjoyable evening and a delicious meal. The landlord and his adult daughter, who also works at the pub, were friendly and welcoming. The service we received was attentive and excellent. The food was freshly cooked, so did take a little while to arrive, but we prefer not to have a rushed service. My husband had the chilli plus a portion of chips to share and I had the souvlaki, both meals were very well presented and tasted great and the chips were perfectly cooked too. The souvlaki tasted as good as I’ve eaten in Athens. The portions were very generous sizes. We’ll definitely return when in the area again soon

SUNDAY Easter lunch - booked for 2.45. We had booked well in advance. Portions plentiful, we decided to go for turkey, 3 good slices of turkey, absolutely loved the tasty whole carrot and parsnip - soft and delicious, loved the wedge of stuffing (like mine normally soft - but was surprised how delicious this was) good roast potatoes and a pig in blanket. Vegetables came separately- cauliflower cheese (lovely accomplishement) and good size pot full of carrots, cabbage and a swede mash (all amazing). We couldn't eat dessert, we were that full!! We were on holiday, so a snooze once we got back was deserved. Staff friendly and efficient - didn't rush us, we arrived early, was prepared to have a drink before lunch, but we were told table ready. Drinks order taken and delivered quickly - food order not taken for a while, which was not a problem, as we could see they were busy and we weren't in a rush as discussing plans. This is an amazing little gem of a place! Fantastic food! Welsh lamb rump was perfectly pink and melt in the mouth and the Baked Alaska held a little surprise. Friendly staff and cant fault the service! I will definately come back if I’m this way on again!

Absolutely gorgeous, gourmet meals. I was apprehensive ordering a steak at a pub as I feel they aren’t cooked to my liking. However, this pub served me the most gorgeous steak ever! Service was great and it’s a lovely, quaint pub. Definitely will be returning on our next trip to Pembrokeshire!

Went to the Rising Sun for a works buffet. Absolutely superb, lovely high quality food, well presented and loads of it. Most of us took some home as well. If you are looking for a buffet venue for business or social cannot recommend highly enough.

A very pleasant meal out with my wife. A good range of starters and mains including burgers, pudding favourites and steaks. Nothing too fancy but well cooked. Friendly staff and quick service. Good beer! £55 for two starters, two mains. 2 pints for me and a soft drink for my wife as it was her turn to drive. Thoroughly recommend and we will be back soon.

We had a Sunday roast a few weeks ago here and I have to say the food was amazing. Everything cooked to perfection. I found the portion sizes were plenty for me and my partner and everything tasted so lovely. Would definitely go again. Just goes to show how nice it was as it was jam packed. Lots of people enjoying themselves. The service was great. Didn't feel rushed at all. Very friendly here.

Recommended to go here for Sunday lunch by a friend who lives locally. Please note that booking is a must!!! The Sunday lunch was excellent, very generous and very tasty. Lovely selection of fresh veg, fab cauliflower cheese 😋 , trimmings and plenty of meat and roasties and proper gravy. The puddings were also very large and yummy! Absolutely beautiful Sunday lunch. Friendly staff, warm and cosy atmosphere. Much much nicer and tastier than the meal we had on Christmas Day in a nearby hotel! They could learn a lot from the Rising Sun. Took one takeaway meal home as 1 member of our party was poorly… she loved it too x

Amazing place to visit, food is very tasty , deserts are delicious. Huge area for a large families or just large groups, dog friendly place. Open fire-really warm and cozy Child playing area , friendly staff. Area outside for the summer to enjoy your drink, absolutely all you want in one place.

Had a fantastic meal from here a couple night ago. Excellent service, fair price, big portions and all round nice night. The staff were friendly and professional, but not so uptight that you couldn't have a laugh with them. I recommend the buffalo wings as they were amazing. Don't listen to the guy who commented about their guiness. It was perfect. More head on a guiness, the better. The whole meal was on point, and we will be coming again soon.

We called here one evening on the off-chance for a meal. A lovely welcome and shown to a table immediately. They even took our drinks order from the table. Our meals were delicious. Lovely polite young man looked after us. We even had a chat to the owner who told us of his long-term plans. I'm looking forward to revisiting for the Sunday lunch soon.

A great choice of food. We could see dishes being brought out to other tables. It was a hard decision what to order. In the end we opted for the steak and Stilton pie. It was lovely.

Went for food and a pint. The Guinness was not good - lots of bubbles which is never a good sign and the taste was as I expected poor. Would give that 4/10. Had the beef burger which was ok.
