November 2024 Im back .. first time Ive sampled the new menu from previously being Coast. The food was on point, lovely Welsh rarebit with Ham hock to start along with bread and stuffing butter which was lovely. The mains of falafel burger with a side of very tasty red cabbage and Tenderstem was stunning. I had the 12oz ribeye which was a lovely cut and cooked to perfection. The side of chips were well seasoned and plenty of them. The deserts of plum crumble and sticky toffee with mango sorbet was different in taste but complemented each other perfectly. The wines were stunning, albeit a little pricey but part of the experience, I'd like to have seen more French wines but on the whole a good selection, although the wine description needs a little work.. I.e. full bodied aromatic, fruity doesn't distinguish where it's sweet, medium or dry which I'd personally like to see in the description to help identify the body of the wine. Can't wait to go back and sample the next options available. We're going to the Grove in 2 weeks so look forward to that. Diolch 👌🏼 2023 So back again for another visit and in fairness it didnt disappoint the food in the 7 course tasting menu was fabulous, so many different tates and in some cases experiences that id never had before. My only issue that was noticable this time was the lack of attentive staff. Normally when the wine or water needs topping the staff were always on hand to top up as required whilst doing the rounds.. unfortunately this didnt happen on any occasion so for me the service wasnt as good or on point as it used to be. 2021 As always fantastic food and service from the coast team. Always look forward to an evening of being spoilt and these guys always deliver. Fresh food, fantastic tastes especially when having the tasting menu. Not 100% on the thyme icecream though !! See you all again very soon......

Really over priced . Toilets down stairs... public ones . Edit.... when we got there amd asked for a table , then asked where the toilets was they sent us down stairs , and that was with 2 disabled people who struggled to do the stairs , who also had walking sticks and crutches. We then only had a drink and some olives as my parents were in more discomfort. Plus we also asked of they were the only toilets and they said yes the one down stairs. So I would like to know why 2 elderly disabled people were sent down stairs .

We recently ate at Lan y Mor on a very busy Saturday - despite not having a booking we found the staff very accommodating and welcoming. The food was incredible - we haven't stopped talking about it since! Fresh sea bass with the most delicious leeks and new potatoes - clean, fresh, light - totally delicious! We thought it was very well priced for the standard of food. It was clearly a very busy service for the staff but Michelle was incredibly friendly and warm - thank you! We will definitely be back and will also be telling everyone about Lan y Mor!

We were greeted by a classy young lady who helped us to the last table on the restaurant terrace. One has a terrific view on the beach/bay from here, and the place is an excellent starting point for hikes. The menu has a refined choice to everyone 's taste. The food was good, but the portions are surprisingly small. Not a good price/quality ratio. Hence the three stars.

First visit back since the change of name and concept. Little or no change to the decor other than the obvious rebrand from Coast to Lan y Mor. A much more casual and informal fine dining experience with a menu that is more accessible to a wider market - liked the options for small and sharing plates. That said, we had visited to try some of the new mains on offer and on the whole we were pleased with the quality and presentation of the dishes. The hummus sharing plate was excellent as was the salted caramel ice cream and espresso affogato dessert. Cheese board with truffle honey was also very good. As with the relaxed feel, it felt as though staff were less attentive, but nonetheless efficient in clearing and ensuring everything was ok. A warm and sunny Saturday meant we had a nice view of the beach too! From a price point perspective, eating out here is still very much on the premium side, but worth it for the location, quality of food and service.

Food was VERY nice and fresh. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten something so tasty. The flavours complimented each other ever so nicely. We ordered the whole lobster, catch of the day (sea bass), potatoes, broccoli, chips and mac & cheese. For dessert we had the affogato. With a cider and elderflower pressé it came to just shy of £140, which fed 2. It is expensive, so I can’t say its value for money, but we did really enjoy the experience of dining here. The staff are very attentive. The views are nice - we were booked for inside but teased it for outside on a sunny day. If you’re looking for a treat, this is a top recommendation for a date. Would this be my go to? No, simply because I wouldn’t be able to afford it. Maybe in another life!

Haven't been here since it changed from Coast but left very very happy. No more tasting menu, and a menu that caters for everyone at a much better price point. We shared a lot of nibbles and starters, I especially enjoyed the Lobster Broth and fried cockles, don't forget to have some of the rolls with rarebit butter too. All the mains were great, the Fishfinger sandwich was huge, I personally loved the local Seabass on Miso leeks. Wasn't planning on having desserts but the menu looked so good we had to try, both desserts we tried were incredible, with the chocolate & cherry cake probably being my favourite. Good choice of drinks including plenty of Welsh options, I had a delicious glass of white wine from Velfrey Vineyard. Service was quick, attentive and friendly. Visited here having read great reviews. Sadly, the service was slow. Very polite but very slow. The food had too many competing flavours, overpowering the lobster and lamb dishes and the wine was way over priced for the quality. We were asked for feedback and gave it, gently. I really don’t think they were the slightest bit bothered that we hadn’t enjoyed our experience. Interestingly, during the time we were there, two other tables next to us complained about the speed of service and the food. They were also met with a shrug. It may have been an off night but at £200 for 2 people, we won’t be back.

From not being acknowledged when we walked in , to the awful smalls plate as a starter to the chewy steak and not to leave without mentioning the poor, defensive service. Not what it was, this restaurant seems to be trying to tap into modern trends. Previously, it was a trend setter for this area. Our first trip since this was Coast. It has a very different ethos, and whilst the food is very good I was used to how excellent it was at Coast. Paying £80 for two main courses was a bit pricey for me. As soon as the restaurant gets busy it gets difficult to hear people. Ravioli was over seasoned. Drinks service incredibly slow. On being asked how our experience was the response from the staff was a shocked face and a response that they were still ironing out teething problems. A fantastic view though and the food was still very good, but not the level of excellence that you expect for the money. As a regular to the restaurant whenever I am in the area, I would now choose to go elsewhere.

We visited as a family treat a while ago, whilst the location is fabulous, unfortunately the food and service was not. We called by wanting to see what the restaurant looked like with a view to potentially coming back in the future. We were just looking for a drink on this occasion. There was no signage to suggest that this was not a possibility. On reaching the restaurant we were told by an extremely rude man that 'this is a restaurant'. He then asked in an extremely brusque manner 'have you booked?' The look on his face on our approach was one of utter contempt. The place was empty, but for a single customer, and whilst we would have considered going there for food on a future occasion his attitude well and truly put us off returning.

Having eaten at The Beach House Oxwich I was looking forward to another fine dining experience at the Coast restaurant Saundersfoot. It's situated in a beautiful location and there's plenty of parking, but this is an additional £5 for all day. I was greeted by lovely gentleman, even though we were 30min late due to a car accident, there was no issue to seat us . We chose the 5 Course Taster Menu and every one was absolutely delicious. Was quite surprised that the bottle of water was charged as we were asked if we'd like still or sparkling as soon as we sat down, but was unaware this was a chargeable item. On top of the meal, we ordered a couple of Mocktails at £8 each and a coffee that was £5, again, great quality. The afternoon was very relaxed and not rushed, we were there for over 3hrs. Only disappointment was when paying for the meal. We had booked under an offer, which was a Blackfriday deal. This was 30% off the food. When the bill arrived, we had not received the discount. I had already heard a couple on another table raise this and their bill was recalculated. When I raised this with the waiter, he asked if we had the discount voucher. I stated there was no voucher, that the offer was on Facebook to book by 1st December and we had to attend by the 29th February. I had an email confirmation of the booking and the date it was booked. I did feel rather uncomfortable as I felt as though I was trying to pull a fast one. Considering we had spent over £120 after the discount on the meal, it did take a shine of what had been an enjoyable afternoon. The bill was eventually sorted and although the gentleman did not seem overly happy about this, I did leave a £15 tip for the service.

We had a gorgeous midweek lunch here and even the drizzle and mist couldn't detract from the experience. Coast was re-opening from its winter hibernation on the day of our visit and everything was "on point". We had expected to just have a pleasant lunch here but while scanning the menu, noticed that the tasting menu is great value so plumped for 5 courses and are so glad we did. Service was prompt , not slow, not rushed. Dishes were presented without fuss by a member of the kitchen team. Tastes and textures are unique and feel representative of local produce and heritage to our uneducated palates (seek out the course entitled "Yesterdays bread"). During service the experience kept improving and culminated in an amazing meat course ( quite a shock to a "non meat eater") and was finished off with a cleansing sorrel ice cream and custard. Lovely in every way.

Booked dinner with brother & sister in law for the taster menu on a Saturday night and had the following experience: - much longer than expected to be acknowledged by staff, on arrival. - wait to place initial drinks order took far longer than it should. - then things improved. - wine flight was exceptional and our waiter went through all flavours / origins (6 wines for 7 courses). - non-alcoholic options on the menu is by far and away the best we have ever found that wasn't just some diabetic sugary concoction - excellent thought went in to this. - each course was beautifully presented and some of the the flavours that were combined were delicious. Genuinely saddened by 2 of the items in the taster menu (really not liked them previously) but the chef completely turned me around on both. - the waiting staff quickly guaged our level and, within a few courses, were injecting some excellent comedy in to their service.

I went with my partner as she had been given vouchers to use, specific to this restaurant. The good stuff: staff were very helpful and pleasant. The rest was less impressive. We had the 3 course option, not cheap at just under £50 pp. I can't recall every single thing so I'll just comment on what I can. The amuse bouche was ok. My partner had the cauliflower as her main, which was... cauliflower, quite a lump with some OK cheese sauce. I had the steak and hispi cabbage. The cabbage was fine and I have made it myself since, comparable to what I ate at Coast. The steak was tasty but chewy. I don't have steak often but it was probably the median of all my experiences. My starter comprised of poached egg and black pudding with other (tiny) bits I can't recall. I finsihed off with the cheeseboard. The starter was quite bland and the cheeses were, in my opinion, no better or worse than those you could buy at a supermarket. My partner had thyme ice cream with her chocolate dessert, though this seemed quite strong in flavour and quite overwhelmed the rest of the dessert. The decor was pleasant if, like the food, underwhelming, and the view nice (but as I live in Pembrokeshire they weren't spectacular to me). Overall, unimpressed. A couple left as we sat digesting our dessert and were quite effusive to the staff about their experience. My partner and I looked at each other in bewilderment. We came away feeling what the fuss was about and is there some psychological impulse to claim satisfaction in something that was ultimately a let down solely because a) it was expensive, and/or b) to simulate good taste. Would I recommend? No. But perhaps I am the sort of person that doesn't enjoy the cutlery being set before each course as I am trying to talk with my partner (as nice as the staff were) or each dish explained in detail (it was on the menu!). Also, I resent the fact that there was no salt on the table, it's as if Coast had decided for you that it was unnecessary. It wasn't, not in the case of my starter. When was the last time you ate a poached egg without salt?Go, if you want that sort of experience, or feel the need to tell others how much you have spent on a meal. If you want food that has a cost:taste ratio of 1:1. go elsewhere.

We had been trying to get a booking here for quite sometime and we’re both looking forward to an exceptional dining experience based upon the many exceptional reviews . We had pre booked the 7 course tasting menu and our expectations of a fine dining experience were high . Unfortunately what we experienced that evening was far from a fine dining experience , each course was lukewarm, bland and totally underwhelming in every way to the extent that after one of the courses I complained to head waiter regarding my disappointment on what I had just been served , he said that he would inform the chef and report back to me, needless to say I received no feedback from the pass . So based upon our experience my review is a follows , with each mark out of 5 Ambiance 1 Service 2 Food 1 Wine 2 Sorry Coast , I had great expectations but unfortunately post meal I felt exasperated to the extent that I wouldn’t return or recommend your establishment to friends or family.

Visited as a group of 10 recently, we all had the tasting menu (Travelzoo vouchers) and it was fantastic. I personally found the food exemplary. The majority of us had the wine matching to go with each course which seemed expensive but worked out being good value for money and the wines chosen really complemented the food. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about all the food and wines. The venue was beautiful looking out over the sea, and those not facing the view still had the pleasure of seeing it with a strategically placed mirror! My one criticism would be - my whisky was served in a wine glass, didn’t spoil the taste but would have been nice to have it in a whisky glass!

We took advantage of the Travelzoo deal for a belated birthday treat. The experience did not disappoint, each course was presented and talked through wonderfully. The wine pairing was worth the investment, the sommelier Mark was very knowledgeable. We decided to add on the cheese course but share it, this was well worth it! Special shout out to Michelle who was filling in here from the Grove, she was fabulous. All tables seem to have a lovely view of the sea, so try to arrive whilst its light to make the most of this!

Stopped by for a coffee whilst walking from Wiseman’s Bridge to Saundersfoot, Coffee was really good and the generous slab of Carrot Cake was amazing. Would have liked to have had a proper mug and plate as opposed to disposables but apart from that really good value.

Excellent food, stunning location and friendly staff. What's not to like. Took advantage of a Travelzoo deal. Slightly annoying that for lunch only offered the 5 course tasting but it seemed to be on offer for lunch and we had to pay a lot extra for another course. Hence the one star off.

Having read about Coast my wife and I travelled the 60+ miles from our home in Porthcawl to have a celebratory lunch for her milestone birthday. Having prepaid for a 5 course taster menu we quickly upgraded to the 7 course once we saw the menu. It was a great decision. From the appetiser through the starters, fish courses, meat courses and desserts, every plate was first class. Moreover, the staff were extremely knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. We sat there for 2 1/2 hours and enjoyed every second of it. I haven’t even had to mention the views which are sensational. I thoroughly recommend. Simply go.

The coast restaurant is a really nice place to visit. The atmosphere is very relaxing and elegant. The service was exceptional. And the food was delicious with just the right amount of cooking on each item. I really enjoyed the purée that accompanied each dish which really added to the flavors. Highly recommend!

I had no idea what todays and yesterdays bread would look like and it was a pleasant surprise as to how’s lovely this started was. The dishes only improved as we went along. I don’t want to be specific because part of what we enjoyed was not knowing too much about what was coming but the whole experience was lovely and we have recommended Coast to friends/ family since. The sea view is a great addition to a nice evening meal. We will definitely be back ☺️

Coast has a superb location overlooking the sea as the name might suggest. What is not clear from the outside is the exquisite nature of the eating experience inside. The staff are kind, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient, they complement the meal perfectly and make the experience into a real treat. The food is on another level of inventiveness which is both wonderful and exciting. We had the seven course tasting menu for lunch, it was other worldly. So good, in fact, we went back for lunch the next day. Not only was the food excellent, the wine pairing was second to none. Do yourself a favour and put this on your list of places to go, you will not regret it.

We have visited The Grove & The Beach House on several occasions and have waited a little while to visit Coast…we were not disappointed!!! From the second we arrived at the restaurant, we were made very at ease and went on to enjoy every experience. The Staff were very welcoming, knowledgeable and professional. Nothing was a bother. Thank you. The food was amazing - a good Summer menu choice - there were a couple of different tastes for me and I enjoyed every mouthful!!! We had a window seat…and it was an absolutely glorious day…what a view. Thank you to everyone who made our lunch time visit a lovely experience we’ll remember. Great car park facilities on site and not as expensive as at Oxwich.

Visited with friends while on holiday in Pembrokeshire. The food and service was impeccable, inventive seasonal dishes using local ingredients that were beautifully balanced and presented. The layout makes the most of the lovely sea views from the restaurant. We will be returning.

A very snooty establishment, exclusive but not inclusive. Beautiful setting but can not comment on the food as we were denied access even though the restaurant was empty. We ended up having a drink on the terrace but they couldn’t wait for us to go. The waiter said there was free tables but the manager came out and said no. Three respectable well dressed ladies were not made welcome.

Very disappointed for a restaurant with 3 rosettes. Lunch menu starter and main heavily salted, very small portions. Felt very rushed by the staff. Wine glasses taken before wine finished. Still water added to sparkling water glasses. No atmosphere. We left there feeling as hungry as when we entered. The only good point was the views from restaurant which are stunning.

Well structured dishes, fantastic flavours and beautifully presented food. Don’t expect to be full, but your tastebuds will have an amazing time. Service was very professional and they catered for my wife by providing gluten free options. The restaurant has a fabulous view across the sea at Saundersfoot. Parking can be tricky if the beach is full.

We cannot praise highly enough the service we had at lunch today. My husband is not only disabled but has a colostomy bag which means he cannot eat nuts, seeds any fruit or vegetables with skins. The chef created a menu especially for him. This we thought was outstanding. We would like to express our thanks again for making our lunch so enjoyable.

We’d been recommended this restaurant by four different friends, and so after travelling for over an hour to get there, we were very excited to be attending our booking. The restaurant charges premium prices, which to us was nothing but a good validation of the recommendations we’d received. However, whilst the food was delicious and very much in line with our expectations, the service was extremely slow. We waited for 1 hour and 35 minutes before we received our starters, and our meal was concluded within just under 3 hours. Considering that we had an hour drive back after, at what ended up being a very late hour, this was less than ideal. The waiting staff on the whole, whilst very friendly were extremely slow, despite numerous complaints from myself, and other patrons. The restaurant manager was kind enough to top up our wine glasses to the extent that I would describe as being just under one full drink each overall. This was very kind, but the thing that let the gesture down is the manner in which the drinks were served. The restaurant manager held an air of annoyance, frustration and inconvenience, for us, the patrons. There wasn’t a sniff of an apology from him, and ultimately it came down to the lovely young waiting staff who were much more junior than him to apologise to us for what was objectively a failure of an evening. I would normally expect the restaurant manager to come and attend to tables with such poor service as ours at the very end of the meal. Instead he seemed to be avoiding us as we left. We paid £200 for 2 people, for what felt like a very disappointing and over priced experience - such a shame as the food was delicious! I would not recommend going to this restaurant.

Must be our 5/6 time eating out here. - never any complaints. By this time I’m usually bored of going to the same place. But the rising sun just keeps giving. The food is good 10/10 every single time. But if I have to recommend something, it would be the Sunday lunch!! The service is fantastic, today was incredibly busy with what looked like a party of 20+ upstairs, our table was not over looked at all. The ladies checked in a few times during our lunch to ask if everything was ok. Nothing is too much trouble. Portions are always on the bigger side. Child friendly - there’s always a board game or baby toys to keep the kids entertained in between courses. A really nice touch actually. THE best Sunday dinner I have ever had.
