Soooo disappointing - we have been coming here for years on our regular Holidays and been telling friends over the years how truly wonderful it was - stand out dishes which we have tried to replicate - but now - so average . It would seem they have decided their money is in fish and chips and they do that well - but oh for their old menu fish stews or sea bass with hints of vanilla and tomato sauces - what a shame . Just become a generic eating place ..

Simply put, fabulous. After a coastal walk in the glorious weather we made our way here and were greeted with a friendly smile and quick and efficient service. We ordered the beer battered cod and chips and the ‘Catch of the Day’ crab cakes with a pint of pale ale. The service was quick and friendly. The setting was rustic and beautiful. The views of the sea and the fabulous artwork enhanced the experience. The food? The food! Simply stunning. I would recommend The Shed to anyone if they love it fresh, tasty and friendly. While we were there it became very obvious that their quality was well known in the local community as droves of locals called in to eat or have a ‘take away’. This was our first visit to The Shed even though we’ve stayed in Fishguard for years and it’s such a shame that we didn’t visit here before. On a more optimistic note, we shall definitely be returning the next time we are in the area and look forward to doing so. Keep up the great work and thank you for topping off our fun and frolics in Wales.

Very busy. Tables left uncleaned for long periods. Freezing cold. 1 toilet but unusable due to customer inside. for 20mins so everyone left. Car Park right outside. Lots of fumes. Food cold due to coldness. There was upstairs but not allowed to sit. Polite staff. Staff did not tell us which dish was which (ordered different types of fish). Most are reserved. Expensive. £19 for a fish and chips. Only a few tables inside, the rest are outside. No napkins. Other Travellers mentioned they booked because their accommodation did for them.

Way too oily, Funny as last year they said prices had gone up due to the increasing cost of supplies especially the cooking oil, this time we got 4 portions of fish and chips with curry sauce and it was swimming in oil so much so it leaked on to my favourite jumper walking to the car.

So disappointing this evening( similar to our last visit in October!)Back in the day( last year) the battered Cod was a light golden colour as were the chips!,However,on our last visits ,Cod was quite a dark ,tan colour and the chips were a very similar colour. It wad as if the oil was far too hot or needed changing They were greasy, small ( crispy as do small)and the portion was smaller than usual! So very different to Giles Corren reviews!! and our past experience and views.

Been eating here from its early days and always pretty good. However, not that great this evening, haddock pretty tasteless and quite greasy. They used to serve Hake, but not on menu. Thinking of somewhere nice to go for lunch on a damp November day in St Davids and we automatically chose The Shed. My wife had a fabulous seafood stew. I wasn't as hungry as usual so I had an aubergine and seafood curry: a dish that I had not sampled previously, and it was very good. We also had a bottle each of the local stout, Diod Dewi, which was excellent; and we finished off with an americano, for me, and a pistachio ice-cream cream for her. Despite the weather our visit to Porthgain, one of our favourite places in our favourite county, was very worthwhile.

Went here for lunch , having used it several times for takeaways , they allow dogs in the restaurant at lunchtime . We shared a dish of scallops , served with bacon and samphire and an apple purée , one of the best scallop dishes I’ve ever had , my wife had the whole flounder , served with cockles, samphire & capers , and I had the mussels , beautifully cooked juicy and tender in a slightly spicy sauce with samphire . Both mains were delicious , lovely friendly service , we had a walnut tart and an upside down cake to take away . They were delicious later on in the evening , what a great idea . Prices are on the higher side but the quality of cooking justifies this . We are on the area often and will definitely return

Partner and I came here on a Friday lunchtime. The decor is quite unique and atmosphere relaxed and friendly. We ordered the scallops with apple and bacon to start, followed by the catch of the day (whole flounder with capers, cockles, samphire and rocket & lime butter) and a half portion of breaded goujons with chips. Everything came in decent portions and tasted amazing. The starter and special were not cheap but the quality was excellent. Would definitely recommend this place.

The most incredibly good fish and chips (with a side of mushy peas and onion rings). Firstly, the size and quantity of the fish was daunting but, after a long walk, eagerly anticipated. I'm so disappointed. Rang to book and specifically asked if there was lobster available and was told it was. When i arrived a few hours later, i was told it wasn't available anymore as they'd run out of stock. I was then told at the end that i could have pre-ordered the lobster to make sure i had some. The table next to us had the last lobster, and it did look very good but since i couldnt have any it has to be 1 star. It would have been more useful finding out about the pre-order on the phone when i booked and asked about lobster being available, rather than when i was paying for food i had to settle for instead. To the staff: next time someone books ans asks about something being available and you know it has limited supply, let them know then that they can pre-order!

We love the Shed, best fish and chips. We live 15 miles away but visit every few weeks for a take out lunch. Two weeks ago we ate the best fish we have ever had. Visited today, food still great but the portion size has halved. At first we thought we had been given child portions but looking around everyone had the same size. We feel ripped off as £25 for 2 portions which together were the size of one portion 2 weeks ago is very expensive! I'm hoping this was a mistake but don't think it was.

This was a gem of a B&B. The best value you’ll find on this stretch of the coastal path. Lovely rooms, excellent breakfast and central to Marloes and St Brides beaches and Skomer trips. You have the added benefit of staying in a traditional village with thatched cottage and a very nice pub restaurant. The owner kindly gave me a lift to the Skomer visitor centre when it looked like I might be late for the boat. Highly recommended.
