This is our 3rd time here and this place is consistently serving food seafood. Whether you get a fish and chips or go for any of their other seafood dishes (definitely try them) you will be pleased. The location is charming as we tend to go for a walk before and after dinner. We'll be back again next year!

Probably the best fish and chips I've had in a very long time, pleasantly surprised considering it's tucked away! Struggled to finish the portion, but in a very good way. Perfect for sitting indoors on a cold day looking out at the harbour, definitely worth the price. Will absolutely be calling in again when I'm next in the area.

Thinking of somewhere nice to go for lunch on a damp November day in St Davids and we automatically chose The Shed. My wife had a fabulous seafood stew. I wasn't as hungry as usual so I had an aubergine and seafood curry: a dish that I had not sampled previously, and it was very good. We also had a bottle each of the local stout, Diod Dewi, which was excellent; and we finished off with an americano, for me, and a pistachio ice-cream cream for her. Despite the weather our visit to Porthgain, one of our favourite places in our favourite county, was very worthwhile.

Went here for lunch , having used it several times for takeaways , they allow dogs in the restaurant at lunchtime . We shared a dish of scallops , served with bacon and samphire and an apple purée , one of the best scallop dishes I’ve ever had , my wife had the whole flounder , served with cockles, samphire & capers , and I had the mussels , beautifully cooked juicy and tender in a slightly spicy sauce with samphire . Both mains were delicious , lovely friendly service , we had a walnut tart and an upside down cake to take away . They were delicious later on in the evening , what a great idea . Prices are on the higher side but the quality of cooking justifies this . We are on the area often and will definitely return

Partner and I came here on a Friday lunchtime. The decor is quite unique and atmosphere relaxed and friendly. We ordered the scallops with apple and bacon to start, followed by the catch of the day (whole flounder with capers, cockles, samphire and rocket & lime butter) and a half portion of breaded goujons with chips. Everything came in decent portions and tasted amazing. The starter and special were not cheap but the quality was excellent. Would definitely recommend this place.

The most incredibly good fish and chips (with a side of mushy peas and onion rings). Firstly, the size and quantity of the fish was daunting but, after a long walk, eagerly anticipated. Secondly, the beer battered cod was perfect in everyway. Difficult to come up with the right adjective except to say that this was the best fish and chips I have eaten.

I'm so disappointed. Rang to book and specifically asked if there was lobster available and was told it was. When i arrived a few hours later, i was told it wasn't available anymore as they'd run out of stock. I was then told at the end that i could have pre-ordered the lobster to make sure i had some. The table next to us had the last lobster, and it did look very good but since i couldnt have any it has to be 1 star. It would have been more useful finding out about the pre-order on the phone when i booked and asked about lobster being available, rather than when i was paying for food i had to settle for instead. To the staff: next time someone books ans asks about something being available and you know it has limited supply, let them know then that they can pre-order!

We love the Shed, best fish and chips. We live 15 miles away but visit every few weeks for a take out lunch. Two weeks ago we ate the best fish we have ever had. Visited today, food still great but the portion size has halved. At first we thought we had been given child portions but looking around everyone had the same size. We feel ripped off as £25 for 2 portions which together were the size of one portion 2 weeks ago is very expensive! I'm hoping this was a mistake but don't think it was.

We were shown to our table and provided with a bottle of water and the menus, including that day's specials. It was comfortably busy and they were well on top of service. We deliberately went on a Tuesday for lunch because we have a dog and don't like to take him inside pubs or restaurants. I don't think they are allowed inside. The food was superb. Really excellent. It's not cheap but the quality is great. If you want a seafood themed bistro this is the place to go. Perfectly cooked fish which is unusual for a British fish and chip shop, in most places it’s like eating string, and lovely crunchy chips, again unusual, they are greasy and undercooked in most fish and chip establishments, and a wonderful curry sauce! The food was great but the menu had changed drastically from our last visit. We expressed a preference to a downstairs table. When we arrived we were told we would only have an hour and fifteen minutes. We explained that, that was very rushed for a three course meal. So we were offered no time limit for an upstairs table. The reality was much different. The server, a man in his early fifties took out order and everyhing seemed ok during the starter. When he asked if we'd like to see the desert menu I explained we hadn't even had our main courses. He hurried our mains to us, and returned in no time to explain that time was getting on and there were people waiting for the table. So I explained we had settled for this table because we were told we had limited time on our original booking. He returned saying he'd arranged for more time by juggling round the bookings so we could have desert. It wasn't worth it. The food was great but was completely and utterly let down by this man returning during our desert trying to hurry us up. This service was absolutely rude, obnoxious and blatantly his fault for over booking. The girls who served us were great ,very polite no complaints. We did not leave a tip and we will not be returning to what was one of our favourite places to eat in the Pembroke area. The average spend for this place is easily £130 per couple. You'd expect for this morning at least enough time to enjoy your meal with no unnecessary interruptions especially very rude servers who can't get the bookings right. I would have had better service at a drive through. Also it's such a long drive to experience such poor service. P Garland

Very busy as always and we were happy to secure a table for lunch. The food was good but we felt a little pricey and we certainly couldn’t justify an £80 lunch for a couple, on a regular basis We came away a little disappointed as I didn’t feel it was value for money. I should have paid more attention to the menu because I chose a starter as a main course, which meant my salad and chips were also charged separately, in addition,as sides, which made my meal more expensive. The service was not as good as we have experienced in the past, as we had to request a number of missing items, finger bowl, receptacle for the shells, and our dessert didn’t arrive without prompting. This experience will not stop us using the Shed, however, next time, I will pay more attention to the additional costs.

Sour Caroline We had an enjoyable meal at the Shed, with excellent service from junior members of staff, unfortunately we have been left with a very sour taste from our experience due to the very hostile senior member of staff, Caroline. We spent upwards of £250 and tipped 10% for our good service. Two of our party queried about purchasing two pint glasses and were pleasantly surprised when our waiter said they could take them home with no charge. Off we went on our way, fed watered and ready to enjoy the rest of our holiday. However, things then took a sinister turn for the worst. An hour or so passed and we received a WhatsApp message from Caroline accusing us of stealing said pint glasses. After explaining the situation Caroline has stood firm on her accusation, essentially saying we are liars and thieves. She has even threatened to get the police involved for two glasses that we had permission to take home. And to top it all off she has unlawfully charged our card an extra £40 for the glasses, even though we said to deduct any fee for them out of the tip we had left. This really is dreadful example of how to run a business, and I really do feel sorry for anyone that has the displeasure to work under Caroline. Shame on you.

We had 2 staters one of which, the black pudding with scallops was pretty tasteless, 2 of the specials which were, despite the hype, pretty average and because of the poor, slow service didn’t bother with dessert. With 2 glasses of wine the bill was over £105 …… Perhaps trading on past glories and taking customers for granted?

When our first choice of Sticky Toffee pudding wasn't available, we opted for the "apple rum raisin cake" (price £8.50). As you can see in the photos, it was small and unimpressive, with no garnish of any kind, one lonely bit of apple on the top and just a few raisins. The cake itself had no rum flavor, and was bland. 🙁

We have been traveling in the UK for almost 3 weeks and are now in St David's for a week. Made reservations for The Shed and has a brilliant meal there tonight. Hands down our best meal of the trip! Food was awesome - we had the mackerel fritters and scallops to start, then half cod and chips and the breaded hake, along with mushy peas and curry sauce. Everything was excellent and the food arrived in good time. It's hard to imagine anything topping the food here, but equally as great is the service. Our waitress was Elle and she was by far the best waiter we have encountered in our 3 weeks of travel. She was efficient and fast, but also took time to chat with us and checked back regularly after serving each course to make sure we were happy. She was upbeat, smiling and clearly cares about ensuring her customers are having a great meal. From watching the other wait staff, it was clear this is part of the DNA of the Shed. Whoever does the hiring, you are doing an amazing job. The food would have made for a great meal, but the staff are what turned it from great to excellent - thank you for the best meal of our trip!

The location is brilliant and my partner's family have been coming here for years. On a recent visit with a newly diagnosed coeliac it was disappointing that there was only one gluten free fish option for them. Many chippies back home (very far from the sea!) are adept at coeliac catering through gluten free batter but that's not an option here - they had a choice of cod, seaweed risotto or beef. Not great for the price which was £30 without any potato side! We had a lot of service issues which in fairness were addressed well by the restaurant and attributed to being busy, but for a restaurant specialising in fish & chips I would love to see a menu offering GF batter and chips.

Loved the food and the location! We were a bit sad to be served in takeaway boxes to sit at The Shed's outdoor seating and that the specials weren't available if seated there, and then to be told they didn't have a bin for the rubbish after our meal. Would give 5 stars all round if they could make this a bit more eco friendly.

Best fish and chips I've ever had. My son and i went for half a cod and chips + welsh cheese bits whist my daughter and wife tried to welsh sausage and chips. Delicious! All food was very fresh and tasty. Great service and fantastic atmosphere. This is the second time we've been in the last couple years and haven't been disappointed once. Great place for the family - enjoyed a game of football on the make shift football pitch next door and did some crabbing afterwards. We also took the opportunity to hike to the blue lagoon along the coast and grabbed an ice cream from the ice cream parlour across the road. Perfect location for a nice day out.

Hands down the best fish and chips I have ever had the pleasure to taste. Recommended by a friend who used to live close by, we couldn't say no. Me and my family had lunch here yesterday. We had Haddock. Cod, battered sausage, chips and all of the accompaniments. Each and every one of then was amazing. BUT!!!! ... the curry sauce! That was on another level. Enjoying the curry sauce was just as life changing as eating chicken wings from Wingmans in London and the birth of my child! Top job, I will be back.

Fish was fresh, service with a smile, batter was crispy, chips had a nice texture, mushy peas were the best ever! They had such a good flavour, goodness knows what, but they were amazing! Really pleased we looked at the reviews, you could take your 'take away' to the seating by the harbour or eat them in your car/campervan looking at the harbour. What a lovely place for dinner! They also serve alcohol so I had beer with mine.

Some banging chips. Very mid curry sauce. Lovely setting but quite a long wait at peak time. Which speaks for how good the rest of the menu must be.

Delicious food, comfortable country pub feel and attentive staff, food was delicious all around. My only slight issue is the desert menu could do with a few less chocolate or caramel centred items. I sent my strawberry cheesecake back as it had a chocolate base which I know is fussy but isn't listed in the menu. The chef whipped me up a strawberry sundae no problem! 5 stars great place

Just wanted to make sure everyone knew that I had my worst ever fish n chips there last September.. fish was not beer battered but some kind of tempura batter and the fish still had its skin on! Almost made me gag but had to get it down me and move on cos I needed the sustenance ans was far too tired to complain and make a fuss.. was doing the Pembrokeshire way.. chips were seriously average too, and the price wow like 20 quid! Uff

This was a gem of a B&B. The best value you’ll find on this stretch of the coastal path. Lovely rooms, excellent breakfast and central to Marloes and St Brides beaches and Skomer trips. You have the added benefit of staying in a traditional village with thatched cottage and a very nice pub restaurant. The owner kindly gave me a lift to the Skomer visitor centre when it looked like I might be late for the boat. Highly recommended.
