This was a gem of a B&B. The best value you’ll find on this stretch of the coastal path. Lovely rooms, excellent breakfast and central to Marloes and St Brides beaches and Skomer trips. You have the added benefit of staying in a traditional village with thatched cottage and a very nice pub restaurant. The owner kindly gave me a lift to the Skomer visitor centre when it looked like I might be late for the boat. Highly recommended.

I can’t recommend this place enough. Perfectly located to go visit Skomer Island. The room was fresh, modern, comfortable and clean as a pin, including the on suite bathroom. Booking and check in were all easy and efficient and the cooked breakfast set me up perfectly for the day. The host was super welcoming also. All of that with a nice easy carpark and minutes from the pub. Fabulous! Thanks guys and keep up the good work!

I was hiking the Pembrokeshire trail back in 2018 I believe (2019 actually). Always meant to leave a review for this place. I stayed 2 nights and the place was clean and the owners were very friendly. All was good. I recommend visiting the area and if you overnight it please stay for a while. The area is breathtaking.

The Clock House is not "permanently closed". The café is no longer operating and the property is for sale. But it still operates as a B&B. The accommodation reminded me of a hostel. Self service check-in, no staff except at breakfast. Room was cramped, minimally furnished with metal framel beds and plain white walls. The room partitions are flimsy with almost no sound proofing and if someone slams a door the whole place shakes! However the breakfast was very good and served with a smile. Very overpriced (£110 B&B) given the standard of the rooms.

Enjoyed a fabulous two night stay at the Clock House, which was the perfect spot for our visit to Skomer Isalnd ( 5 minutes by car from the Clock House to the jetty at Martins Haven) The booking and checking in process were slick and easy. The accommodation was very clean, comfortable and had all the amenities we required for our short stay as bed and breakfast guests. Our two breakfasts were fantastic. Well presented, tasty and filling. Couldn’t fault them ! The host was extremely friendly and engaging when we met at breakfast. Super service. An evening drink is available from fridges within the bar area ( self service on an honesty basis) and there’s a light, airy and comfortable sitting area. Pool table and various board games are provided as well as a television, although rooms have their own wall mounted tv. We would happily return again.

We have stayed at The Clock House three times now and to be fair, when we have been there, the service has been great. We wouldn't have stayed there three times had this not been the case. The rooms are a little small, (you have to climb over bags to get around the bedroom) but the location is excellent and the breakfast is great and sets you up nicely for the day. The 2 stars I have given are for the experience whilst we were there. In fact, I would have given it 4 stars had this been my only criteria. My reason for the low score was that we were charged twice for our stay. Mistakes happen but it was left for us to notice this mistake a few days later and to have to contact the owner. He then looked up my wife's email address and decided to refund using Paypal even though the name and email address didn't match, (surely a red flag). As it was, that account hadn't been used in nearly a decade so we asked him to withdraw the money and refund on the card we paid with. This whole process took nearly 3 weeks to conclude and get our refund and unless we contacted The Clock House, we never received any communication from them. By the end, the emails received became very personal and quite accusational. Considering the mistake came from The Clock House, this has left a really sour taste and upset my wife. I noticed a lot of the low scores come from comments about the proprietor and this fits with our experience too. As a result, we wouldn't stay there again which is a shame. So...perfect location, nice accommodation and if you don't complain, everything is great. But if something goes wrong and you need to complain or state something isn't right, service levels drop like a brick and it becomes quite nasty. The situation was eventually dealt with but even once completed, when I sent an email wishing the best for him and his family I still received unpleasant comments about having an ego and being called controlling.

A sweet little B&B not currently operating as a café as your research may suggest. They're looking to sell and I think some of the love may've fallen out of the place looking at previous guests' pictures. Plenty of parking. Self check-in was easy. A bright and airy nautical theme runs throughout, but not garishly so. A pool table is on offer. A basic honesty bar and fridge facility is useful as there are picnic benches out the front to enjoy the quiet village or store your picnic for Skomer. Alternatively, you can pre-order a picnic lunch or takeaway breakfast. We were a bit worried when no-one answered the three phone calls made the day before and we couldn’t work out how to get hold of anyone once we arrived; there is only an emergency bell...Having said that, the owner was there each breakfast, very friendly with great coffee and freshly served food (3 options, you chose the night before). Cooked breakfast was yummy (veggie and meat version) and set us up for all day Skomer wondering. Try the pastry / granola option too, so pretty and tasty! Rooms have thin walls and carpets, so you can hear EVERYTHING...I didn't sleep well in the twin room bed next to the window as it's a very soft mattress. My travel companions slept fine. The room was lovely and cool with blankets, hairdryer, toiletries (albeit used and mismatched!), TV, tea/coffee facilities and hanging area so was thoughtfully designed.

Great place to stay if looking for comfort and convenience close to Skomer island. The B&B is a 5 minute drive from the car park for Lockley Lodge (where you board the boat to Skomer). On arrival it is a self check in which is handy if arriving later (as you don’t need to be there by a set time). Our room was clean and comfortable, although we struggled a little with getting hot water from the tap (but the shower was fine). The owner Kirk was lovely and very accommodating. He was able to prepare us food on the evening we arrived, and also made us packed lunches to take with us to Skomer for an additional fee. The breakfast options were really good- a choice of a cooked breakfast, granola and pastries or porridge. Lots of options and adaptations for vegetarians (and noticed options for gluten free and vegan too). There is a lovely shared communal area with games, sofas, an honesty bar and even a pool table. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area or Skomer and would look to book here again if ever visiting. We loved our stay. Thank you!

I stayed at the Clockhouse for 2 nights. Both nights were quite cool and windy outside, but the room was very cosy and warm. The en suite accommodation was very clean and modern and homely. All varieties of hot drinks, a kettle and biscuits were provided. The bed was very comfortable and I slept very well, alarm clocks were available as were extra blankets and a hairdryer. The breakfast provided was lovely, I had a vegetarian full breakfast, but there were other options available. The manager is helpful and easily available on site. The accommodation is well placed for seeing the puffins and getting about this beautiful county.

I am sorry to say that my (and my wife's) experience of the Clock House was abruptly curtailed by one of the rudest telephone responses I have ever known (in over 50 years' telephone use in more than 30 countries). A simple polite enquiry as to what the latest time lunch could be ordered by, was greeted with "We are SHUT! What part of 'We are shut' don't you get?" --by a man in a loud and very aggressive manner indeed. We can only conclude that this behaviour was an aberration, as the place would otherwise never have remained in business. Even if the chap were perhaps having some sort of bad day, verbally abusing members of the public simply seeking to elicit normal information is utterly inexcusable. Our sad and simple conclusion is that this establishment will never have our custom (needless to say) and furthermore we can only warn anybody off giving their hard-earned to such an unprofessional and downright rude individual --especially considering the number of businesses around employing a far more usual cheerful and helpful attitude throughout (Runwayskiln cafe-restaurant, for example). Please call time on The Clock House.

This was a welcome visit for lunch on a sunny day. We sat outside and had a mixture of salads, jackets and paninis. Everything was tasty and fresh. However we were surprised not to have proper crockery. Cups, plates and cutlery were all disposable. We would have liked proper plates, knives etc. I’m sure the reason would be ‘Covid’, but why? They were not busy, so shortage of staff not an excuse? Seems a waste of resources. However we will definitely be back next year if they are still open.

Had a very rude response from the proprietor when I pointed out the “open” and “closed” signs were confusing. We had seen 4 “ open” signs but it was closed. He shouted across the outside area “We’re closed. This is Wales not England, it’s different here.” We knew which country we were in, thank you. He then became very belligerent and practically shouted at me. Customer service needs to improve urgently and the proprietor needs to learn to take constructive criticism.

This is a terrific cafe. We had a late lunch one sunny June afternoon and came away well fed for a reasonable price. hard to ask for more. Parking was easy, outside tables full sized , choice of outside terrace or tables inside, staff welcoming, portions generous. I had a juicy plump tasty cheeseburger with salad and chips washed down with a good full pot of tea and was pretty beached afterwards. Friends had a jacket spud with cornonation chicken and a chicken salad and pronounced themselves well happy and too full for puddings given the proposed walk that afternoon. The thing about the chips is that they have the skins on, are cut to a plump full size and seemed to have perhaps been twice fried. Anyhowsup they were absolutly tip-top. More than happy to make repeat visits with the sole caveat that service was not under pressure with perhaps only four tables taken. Seemed pretty dog friendly as well. Man alive but those chips were good!

Inside is very nicely furnished. There are new owners here, and we wish them well. We will certainly call back when in the area. It's just the thing after a walk along beautiful Marloes Sands. Many thanks.

We stayed at the B&B; for two nights and only had dinner here one night. That was a big mistake because the dinner at The Clock House was better and less expensive. Sam is good cook and the food was not heavy pub food but very filling, tasteful and well plated.

Didn’t go inside as I had a soggy dog but one of the girls came outside when she saw me, you can take dogs into the conservatory but I stayed on the bench outside! They had non diary milk alternatives so I could have a cappuccino, she said they had milk free cakes such as flapjack or apple crumble cake but I imagine they still had butter/eggs but I didn’t check. The lady staff member I spoke to was lovely, brought everything outside to me, made a fuss of my dog, was a lovely person and really helpful.

Stopped off here for light refreshments before visiting Martin's Haven. The coffee & brownie (with salted ice cream) was delicious. The people opposite were tucking into mussels which looked wonderful and perhaps I should have chosen that but then it's a good reason to return! A perfect setting and we wish the owners every success.

One of the best places we have ever been to, this little cafe in Marloes is wonderful in every way. From the friendly welcome to the tasteful decor to the inspirational menu, this is a great place to eat. The new owners have done a really great job in turning an already excellent cafe into a fantastic one! The chowder is scrumptious and our kids loved the fish finger, crispy bacon, lettuce and tomato ciabatta sandwiches. Our pooch was also made to feel very welcome with a home made dog biscuit. We will definitely be back!

We called for coffee one morning and tea another afternoon, and judging by these, lunch must be good too. Drinks, cakes and sandwiches were really good and the bright indoor seating and outdoor terrace were really pleasant. Service was great, up to the point when one of us waited for food that turned out to have been forgotten. But for that our rating would have been 'excellent'. It's surprising that The Clock House closes at 3.30 in the afternoon and is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so time it right and don't miss it.

Visited Marloes as it brings back childhood holiday memories from the 80's and we stayed and ate here in later yrs when it was called The Foxes. Now it is a bed and breakfast with a Tea Room. Lovely sunny day to sit out with the dog and enjoy sandwiches and a cream tea. I have no complaints about the food or the friendly owner and my dog loved his treat. Things I know change and today it seems alot of places cater for the 'bottle of wine at lunch set" rather than a good old cup of tea with a scone after walking the coastal path. Perhaps that's where the money is and I hope the owners make a go of it and the business is a sucess. We shall return for our cups of tea. Thank You.

We wanted a light lunch after going on a boat cruise around Skomer and arrived about 3pm having driven straight there. However there was no option for the chowder or quiche but cakes only. I did ask but was refused. It was August in the school holidays and 2.30 seems very early to be stopping lunch. Indeed the shop closed at 3.30 so it seems we were lucky to be able to eat anything! What we did have was lovely - blueberry scone with clotted cream and tea. Excellent both. The tea shop was also decorated in a very attractive way and looked very stylish and seasidey. So we loved what we had but would have liked savoury stuff really.

Popped in while passing with 2 hungry little boys, the eldest was delighted both by his fishfinger sandwich and the size of the marshmallow with his hot chocolate! I shared the seafood chowder with the 1 year old and we both really enjoyed it, it was the best I have eaten for a long long time. My husband also gave good reports if his bacon butty with really good crispy bacon.Nice environment to eat in, friendly and helpful staff and reasonable prices. Worth the drive to a rainy Marloes, we will definitely eat here again next time we're in the area.

The food here was the best I've had in a long time. We had the smash burger and the chicken burger and swapped chunky fries for skin on fries. Absolutely delicious, we couldn't stop ooing and ahing the whole meal. Burgers came with an onion ring, side salad with tasty dressing and small pot of coleslaw. So good I might go again tonight! Finally our waiter was charming, I wish I could remember his name.

Thinking of somewhere nice to go for lunch on a damp November day in St Davids and we automatically chose The Shed. My wife had a fabulous seafood stew. I wasn't as hungry as usual so I had an aubergine and seafood curry: a dish that I had not sampled previously, and it was very good. We also had a bottle each of the local stout, Diod Dewi, which was excellent; and we finished off with an americano, for me, and a pistachio ice-cream cream for her. Despite the weather our visit to Porthgain, one of our favourite places in our favourite county, was very worthwhile.
