The best restaurants in Newport South Wales

We were waiting for our car to be serviced so popped in for breakfast, the staff interaction was patchy, the food was ok. But the collection of old plates was atrocious, they just littered empty tables, limiting where new customers could sit.

Great atmosphere. Good Eritrean foods served. Juices. Eritrean coffee. Pool tables in back for entertainment. Nice place. Well recommended.

Unfortunately, this dominos has nothing on chepstow road. Food often turns up burnt and also have had items missing from my order. It isn't cheap so when you order and receive rubbish or items missing its not good. The delivery drivers, well I can see why they're delivery drivers and nothing more. They literally stand outside the back gate for 5-10 minutes then they call and say "I'm outside" so I tell them to come in as that isn't my door its a gate. They're that thick they cannot open a gate latch and proceed to stand outside with my food, pure imbeciles. I've watched the cctv back a few times wondering how someone can be so dull 😑. I won't be ordering from here again.

Over 1.30hrs late absolutely rude staff on the phone, hung up on me after mentioning my address! Told on the way there only 14 mins up the road and I’m still waiting!!! Joke of a company!

The best in Newport, have ordered from here for years. The food is always fresh and the staff are so friendly. Have tried different places but nothing compares to Simla spice.

Dirty place and awful service. Had issues with an order and asked to speak to a manager to be met with someone with an attitude problem. Tried to explain my issues and frustration to be told I was the rude. Gave up and left with no order. Makes no difference to them but I won’t be returning. I can see from other reviews I’m not the only one to have had issues with service at this restaurant which really says it all really. A refresh on customer service training is needed!

I have just spent £24 on a family breakfast on the way to visit my mother who is seriously ill in a hospice in Newport at the moment. The quality and presentation of the food here is abysmal - luke warm, thrown together and not appetising at all. It’s not cheap and you expect much better. The cheese and bacon wraps were disgusting and the eggs in the sausage and egg muffins looked as if they had been scraped off the floor - greasy and chucked together too. Do yourself a favour and use Magor services as it’s much better in my view. If the Manager and staff do read this review, please do address this as it isn’t good enough and you pay far too much for this rubbish. Truly horrible and will not be going back soon.

This has really gone downhill in recent times - once our supermarket of choice for a pre-shopping breakfast but not any more. Despite the fact that it had only just opened for the day, we struggled to find a clean table with most covered in crumbs and other food debris and remnants of the previous day's newspapers scattered across windowsills. The big breakfast were particularly disappointing for the £8 charge - limp bacon, watery scrambled egg, soggy hash browns and toast that was so anaemic it was probably made using the light of someone's phone. And considering the fifteen minute wait, none of it was particularly hot. Additionally, the soft-drink machine only seemed to be dispensing room temperature, barely fizzy drinks. Will definitely be trying somewhere else next time.

Tonight we visited Kaspa's Newport for a birthday. One of our party has telephoned to make the booking as this was for a party of 13. This phone booking was taken without a problem. On arrival the staff were oblivious to our booking and looked at us like we all had 2 heads, this made the birthday party person who suffers with anxiety upset. After being seated we went and placed our individual orders in groups of 2 or 3. Dinner of our party were given receipts others not....... Not a problem. The first 2 orders arrived incorrectly, and had to be taken back. The staff member took the plates from the table so fast that as he turned to walk away dropped the ice cream on the floor. Did he clean this up........ No our party ended up cleaning up the mess from the floor & the seating. Orders turned up in no particular order even though they were all waffles (not all with the same toppings). If you order 2nd or 3rd in the party you could have ended up with the 13th waffle. After eating we sat chatting and finishing off drinks, again the staff were in no hurry to clear up. One of our party gathered the plates & took them back to the counter in the end so we had a bit of room. Now you may ask yourself were Kaspa's busy. The answer would be no. There were a maximum of 4 other people eating in the dinner. And at least the same number of staff members. Waffles were lovely, but the staff and the attitude was terrible.

Popped in for a drink and a bite to eat with my mum yesterday, we both had the mozzarella and tomato panini, it was alright, not fantastic but not terrible, it tasted very bland but it was edible, however we think it should contain pesto, my mum ordered a latte witch I believed she liked, i had a Spanish lemonade, they didn't have any fizzy drinks at all, they only had 3 to 4 cold drink options and my lemonade was bitter and sour, the tables were dirty and so was the floor, the rolls and paninis choices weren't massive, but at least they had some choice, very friendly staff but quite expensive, 6/10 experience

Everyone was very friendly, coffee was a little burnt but i think the lad was still training so i asked if they could be remade and they did no questions asked. Good service

I place an order Saturday afternoon on 15th April 2023. The delivery was on time and that's the only positive. The chips was an odd colour, had a hint of grey to then and didn't taste right. The fish bites batter was hard and the fish meat inside was though and rubbery, as if they had been reheated. The mince beef pie didn't tate right, I opened the pie it was dry inside. I smelt the inside and I vomited. Can't even describe the smell. The lot was thrown in the bin. I never write reviews, but I was disgusted with my poor food quality. I'm also worried that someone could become seriously ill, if this continues. The owners need to be held accountable and need to be checking what's being produced on there premises.

Visited on foot for breakfast, a lovely member of staff offered to bring my food out to me as I had my dogs with me and they don't like being left to wait. She also put an extra treat in the bag for the dogs! Top notch customer service well done Macdonald's
