Kaspa's Deserts in Newport

Tonight we visited Kaspa's Newport for a birthday. One of our party has telephoned to make the booking as this was for a party of 13. This phone booking was taken without a problem. On arrival the staff were oblivious to our booking and looked at us like we all had 2 heads, this made the birthday party person who suffers with anxiety upset. After being seated we went and placed our individual orders in groups of 2 or 3. Dinner of our party were given receipts others not....... Not a problem. The first 2 orders arrived incorrectly, and had to be taken back. The staff member took the plates from the table so fast that as he turned to walk away dropped the ice cream on the floor. Did he clean this up........ No our party ended up cleaning up the mess from the floor & the seating. Orders turned up in no particular order even though they were all waffles (not all with the same toppings). If you order 2nd or 3rd in the party you could have ended up with the 13th waffle. After eating we sat chatting and finishing off drinks, again the staff were in no hurry to clear up. One of our party gathered the plates & took them back to the counter in the end so we had a bit of room. Now you may ask yourself were Kaspa's busy. The answer would be no. There were a maximum of 4 other people eating in the dinner. And at least the same number of staff members. Waffles were lovely, but the staff and the attitude was terrible.

Great food. Great service. Have been coming here for years and I still love it, 1 would recommend the honeycomb waffle to anyone who hasn't eaten here before. Hasn't always been on the menu but is a fantastic addition.

The wait time they were sat on their phone and my food took over 30 minutes to show up to my table terrible restaurant terrible servers absolutely terrible service needs new employees no hair nets so bad bad hygiene

I entered this establishment with a Support Animal but was told no to the dog. The guy was an older person quite rude & abrupt. I showed him the badge i was wearing, he read it & still said no dog allowed. I then said to him “would you refuse a guide dog?” But he turned his back on me & continued working.

Great selection off and great service. The cheesecake is amazing we loved every bit of it family off 6 and every dessert was spot on

I came here to buy my niece a dessert for her birthday. I am a regular and usually don’t have a bad experience but the woman who served us today had a terrible attitude on her. Because the music was so loud and she was speaking too quiet, I didn’t hear l what she said properly. And instead of speaking up and repeating herself she starting MOCKING me and speaking to me like I was stupid or something? I almost wanted to just walk out and take my niece somewhere else but I didn’t want to upset her. It’s not her fault the woman had no manners. Absolutely disgusted though honestly

Have always loved a kaspas great dessert great staff. Have been to slot off kaspas but the stff here were amazing

I have tonight ordered a desert in which it has took over 2 hours to come, getting through to staff is pointless, bad service trying to contact them to find out where my order is and they do not take the time to answer, bad customer service there is no getting hold of the resteraunt for updates of the order absolute jobsworth and piss poor service and I will not be ordering from Kaspas again

StIll Ignoring Me after telling me to email etc after messaging them repeatedly since March! Almost 10 for that below! Supposed to be a sundae ! wtf!! Absolutely disgusting service!

I go there often and they have delicious dessert with fantastic staff all the time to help ,i love bueno waffle 🧇

Don’t even bother waste your time with thus place. Let down again. Why don’t I learn they gave let me down before, delivered incomplete orders and the attitude stinks. Trust me don’t waste ur time

Waited half an hour for a table for four people while groups of a similar size were being seated before us, we then had to ask if our booking had gone through to which they said they had found a table for us, a two seater booth directly outside the toilets. Boyfriends food came on a dirty plate and food was literally chucked down in front of us randomly without asking who’s was who’s by a waitress who proceeded to storm off without saying anything. Toilets weren’t kept clean and no social distancing was enforced at all. I don’t normally leave reviews but all four of us thought it was the worst “restaurant” experience we’ve ever had and won’t be recommending to other friends and family.

This was my first visit to kaspas after a recommendation from a friend. I went in with my husband and we were met with a very dismissive and rude member of staff who asked “ where are u sitting” we told her that it was our first visit and if we just pick a table? She replied with “no it’s stated on the door you have to book a table in advance ” we apologised and told her again we’ve never been here before, she shouted over to another member of staff to find a table for two, before taking our orders, after she had taken our orders she then pointed at the member of staff and said follow her and she will find u somewhere to sit. The place was almost completely empty and there was no reason for her rudeness... I won’t be returning.

Lemon crepe had no taste of lemon, 50p for less than half a teaspoon of vermicelli on my granddaughter’s ice cream was a liberty and I watched one person in blue gloves pick up a waste bin and wipe her nose then go on to prepare food. Won’t be going back!

Wonderful customer service from a gentleman called Benni, very friendly greeting and came over to tell us about all of the specials. All the staff were very friendly, nothing seemed to be a hassle for them, they were happy to go above and beyond. Came in with a group of friends and we have all had a brilliant evening. Thank you to the whole team!

On entering the young man who greeted us was friendly,polite and helpful. Waited a long time for 2 desserts and we were only the second table in there,was empty! Prices are extortionate,£2.20 for a tiny coffee,£2.25 for a small bottle of fanta . Deserts nothing special,certainly not worth the price. Place is really grubby with smeared tables and the toilets are filthy with no toilet roll. Considering it was so quiet I would think they would sort the toilets out! Someone was mopping and there was a horrible smell,think it was dirty water. Just a grimy place with absolutely no atmosphere and slow,uninterested staff (with exception to the lovely lad who greeted and seated us that is) Never again.

It was my first time here and was looking forward to treating the kids. On arrival the staff were helpful and friendly however the tables were a little dirty. The service is good but after asking for 2 glasses for our water we were brought 2 of the dirtiest glasses I’ve ever been given in a restaurant. The rest of the experience was good but it sort of puts you off when you are given something like that.

The sundaes are a bit overpriced at around £6.50 each but I thought it would be worth it. Tasty but definitely over priced. The gateaux and cake selection was not that great either and again a bit overpriced for what you got. Lunch time at around 1:30 pm, no atmosphere here. I did expect better here but left rather disappointed. Won’t be back.
