Disappointing Half-Term Experience – Unacceptable Customer Service I recently visited during half-term week, eager to treat my children to the hot meal deal they were looking forward to. We arrived at 2:35 pm, expecting to find it open as per the 10 am - 4 pm hours posted. However, a sign indicated the staff were on break and would return by 3:05 pm. My kids were disappointed but willing to wait, so we took a short walk and returned to the café just before 3:00 pm. When the staff member came back at 3:05 pm, I politely requested the children’s hot meal deal. To my disbelief, she informed me there would be no hot food available because they were closing at 4:00 pm. I was stunned—there was no indication that hot meals would stop being served well before closing time, and we’d waited specifically for the return of the staff in hopes of enjoying the advertised menu. I understand and respect that staff need breaks, but if the establishment is open until 4:00 pm, it should serve the full menu until that time, especially during the busy half-term period. Waiting for 30 minutes with four children, only to be told that the café wouldn’t fulfill the advertised menu, felt like a complete lack of regard for customers. When I expressed my frustration, the staff member defensively replied, “Sorry for having a break,” missing the point entirely—my issue wasn’t with her break but with the café's failure to provide adequate service during posted hours. It is certainly not the customers fault that the cafe is understaffed.

Always Excellent We have ordered from DDK for 3.5 years - the quality and delivery time has always been spot on. Special requests have been adhered to, this is our “go to” place for a Kebab in Newport - keep up the good work!

Absolutely disgusting, lamb diner was mushy like dog food, avoid the place.. delivery was ok though!.....,.............

Stood at bar for 10 minutes to be told no bar service ( no idea why and no sign). Went to table and ordered after 10 minutes.. drinks arrived 20 mins later. Not busy just poorly managed. So 40 mins to get a drink in a very average bar at expensive prices..

There’s a reason why all the 5 star reviews are from 2+ years ago. Never have any ingredients available, I’m not sure how they ever make a complete sub but worst was the lady who obviously didn’t wear a name badge for a reason; could not be bothered at all, made a single order at a time and was the least switched on person in the county. A complete shambles as other reviews have said, drive to another store, it’ll be worth it!

It really was awful. Cold food, overcooked. Missing items, dirty restaurant. Never again. Took my grandchildren, had to go back to counter several times for missing items

Won’t let kids in after 6pm! Absolutely ridiculous! Honestly not worth a trip or the petrol if you plan on going for an evening meal or snack!

I had a worst experience in Newport KFC, terrible food especially chicken. We left all the food and felt like throwing up.

Masks worn under nose, no wiping of tables when clearing them and before other customers sit down. Dirty dishes piled by the till counter

Ordered from this shop before and was disappointed so gave it a second chance due to current situation, Appalling service waited 2 1/2hrs for food after ordering which was only advised of 1hr 15mins.. contacted store on 3 occasions for an update was told extra 20mins guarantee delivery.. still not expected then had no answer on call.. on food delivery potatoe wedges were cold and undercooked.. will not order again.. no customer service and benefit of a NHS WORKER.

Esta es la peor comida que me he pedido. La orden llegó tarde aunque yo pedí 1. 5 horas antes. Cuando llamé a la comida para llevar, me dijeron que no podían garantizar la compatibilidad de un tiempo de entrega. Cuando la comida llegó finalmente toda la orden fue horrible. "tortita" eran en rollos de masa y frito, olían amarga y ido, el contenido era totalmente apagado viscosa, brotes de soja, grises que olía a podrido. El arroz frito especial estaba seco y viejo y olía y sabía a pescado podrido. El sabor no era nada más que daba asco! El pollo en platos pollo sabía rancio y obviamente fue congelada. En resumen fue todo impropios para el consumo. Me puse comer solo y fue provisto por la señorita descortés joven que he hablado, que contactó con el para llevar y me dijeron que estaban dispuestos a hacer nada sobre la calidad de la comida! ! ! Comer solo luego que me ofrecen un bono de 5 Libras como un gesto de buena voluntad! ! Bien la comida ahora será puesto en contenedores sellados y almacenados en mi nevera durante la noche. Será llevado directamente al departamento de salud ambiental en la mañana como un chef, quisiera instar a cada cliente potencial a la orden en otro lugar ya que la comida es pésima producido por Chef Maestro totalmente impropios para el consumo y tiene el potencial de graves hacer mal! ! !
