Grill & Bake in Newport

Absolutely appalling food. I am completely gobsmacked by the disgusting state of my food. Was throwing my guts up after eating that bile. The staff were lovely and very friendly though and was a pleasure ordering.

Enjoyed a great kebab from here..service was great with a bright and upcoming your lad cutting the meat fresh from the kebab cooking as it rotates.. ..Super quick cutting with the sharp knife. Probably the faster cutter of kebab in Newport .This place is very busy so expect to wait a few minutes as your food is cooked and prepared....

Been using grill for over 3 years Order turned up incorrect, second time in asany weeks, rang to ask for them to fix, was asked "we didn't read the order notes, what you want us to do, we're not redoing your order" we will send what's missing out but we're busy, missing stuff turned up but food was cold, I'm going back to family kebab.... They don't care about the customers or pay attention to what you order

It was alright. Good place to go for some late-night meat. Food was alright and did have a few stomach issues in the middle of the night but nothing too off-putting. Ordered a large mix of kebab with all salad and chilli/garlic on top. Friendly staff. Good portions and it's cash only.

I ordered on line, a burger meal however there is no option to add salad or sauce so the burger was very dry. They need to update their website to be able to add these as options. I won’t order again online until they sort this out.

Took up the two pizza offer. All very nice and a good deal.

Use there quite often but my delivery today was disappointing the meat was over cooked and crispy and very salty definitely won’t use again can’t of been busy as food was delivered within 9 mins of order being placed

Regular customers, same order every time but they keep forgetting to put on the sauces we ask for, always sounds like they aren’t really writing the order down properly lately, they used to be the best kebab shop around but we won’t be using them again!

Have always ordered from Grill n Bake and have NEVER had an issue with their food until NOW!. Ordered a 9"inch pizza , Cheeseburger and chips and 2 piece chicken meal deal. IT ALL ARRIVED COLD .... The pizza was horrendous , the Cheeseburger inedible and the chicken tasted like it was a week old. NEVER AGAIN ..

missing half a pizza i am never ever going to order from this place, not only was my food cold and missing half a pizza, unsure how it could be missing half a pizza unless the delivery driver had eaten it, i was also shocked that the driver had his family in the car as well. the driver said he could not find my house i live at number 1 its the first house how could he not find it, I'm not 100% sure but i think i saw the delivery driver hit one of my neighbours cars. when i phoned to complain about the driver they said the driver was nothing to with them and he is self employed but did agree that he should not be delivering with his family in the car. they refused to give me a refund. i cant believe they are still trading.

Ordered a box meal to feed the family 90% of It was blinking chips wasn't evan a small portions worth of meat asked for salad and was given all cabbage complete rip off for how much we paid and to top it off they put sauce over everything which tasted expired which ruined everything would not recommend to anyone not evan my dog

Food delivery was okay, when i opened my food there was multiple hairs inside. Called to complain and said i was too late to even though they were closed when i called to complain after i had ordered. Really rude over the phone after i had rung, kept speaking over me after i had asked for her to let me explain, and laughed when i asked for a partial refund, then she ended the call.

States on just eat a burger meal does not state CHEESE on all burgers wouldn't give a refund or a new burger bareing in mind it was £7 jokes phoned them up and they couldn't even offer another service and I'm lactose intolerance.

Fantastic kebab!!! I was served immediatly by a polite young man. I had a short wait for my kebab to be cooked and the price was competitive. The shop was clean and I watched the cooking. The kebab tasted gorgeous so I will definitely be returning next time I need a kebab fix😀

Can't knock the food. Was so tasty, when I fancy another kebab, this is the place to go. My one only comment is that it would be great if they could take card payments.

They used to be great lovley food quick service. Last 4months gone down hill food taking well over hour and half to come even if you pre order for specific time foods not been Best quality, especially the meat. Shame ordered here 3times a week for past year. After my orders not turned up again,last time ever ordering. Plenty of other kebab houses to try

There was a kid working and he looked around. 11 they where making him do everything.I asked not to put cheese on my burger but they looked at me funny and still put it on would never visit again.CBK fish bar is better go there instead.

The food is good but they are sending out old menus with old prices. All items have increased and now charge a delivery and service charge making it a misrepresentation of the amount you will have to pay if you try to work it out from the menus they are still delivering.

Regular customer, order wrong, explained it was for a child, told it would be an hour to deliver correct order , an hour and 35 mins and still waiting. One child not fed, had to sit whilst everyone else ate. Disgusting customer service for a regular customer who spends a good amount on a regular basis! Looking for a new kebab shop!! Recommendations???

Usually great food but ordered cod and chips which was horrendous. Cod batter was dark brown burnt and tasted disgusting. Won't be ordering that ever again. 🤮

Have been ordering from grill and bake for many years usually have the young lady take my orders who knows who I am straight away lol has always been polite well mannered and helpful on every order to me absolutely love there food especially the garlic sauce as they know with my 5 or 6 pots on my orders my kids won't have pizza or kebabs from anywhere else there words are no where else compares to grill n bake

Ok as far as kebab goes they could do bigger portions

Used this place quite a few times. Food is generally pretty good. But last few times customer service has been awful. Ordered, told a time, time went over by a long time. Called, was told they're really busy, called 3 times, eventually arrived twice as long as told, refused the order and decided to go local. Awful customer service, as if we were doing them a favour by ordering. If they were honest, and gave an honest estimate of delivery time, then I could say yes or no. But they are a shambles in organising anything.

Got a call like a pocket dial from the delivery driver. I called them back and they argued that they had delivered the food - they had not. They kept saying the wrong address so I am pretty confident it was delivered to the wrong place. Then I called the restaurant and had to explain 3 times that my address was not the address the driver was saying. At this point the food arrived. Order was wrong. Wrong kebabs no salad ( also did not look good). I rang the restaurant. They were rude. Did not apologise at any point. Some of my favourite bits include “ it is Friday and you live quite far away” - yes you choose your radius for delivery and I paid you money to deliver to this address. Also not sure that Friday means you make a mistake and don’t apologise. I had to explain a few times what was wrong. They offered to send me a different kebab as long as I give the incorrect kebab back - what they were going to do with a kebab that was now pushing 40 minutes old and had been on my plate I don’t know. I said this was not a solution as it would take too long. She then said that others had not acted like me on the phone and that she had offered me a solution. She then hung up on me. After all of that the food was terrible - funny how other places are able to make a decent kebab, deliver it and be polite all on a Friday. Restaurant told me to leave a review if I was unhappy so I am and I will get everyone I know to leave one too. Avoid this place.

Order my children food as qe had been out all day and the middle of the sausages were still raw. They cooked the chips and the sausages in the same baskets. Chips cook quicker than sausages but pulled them out at the same time

I'm a lorry driver just ordered for first time what a lovely polite lady on the phone who took my order thankyou excellent pizza and cheesy garlic bread really nice tasty food thanks as a lorry driver it was nice to be spoken to with some manners and politness and to be made to feel human

Seemingly one of the better kebab and pizza takeaways I've visited, Grill & Bake is a regular experience for me, friends, and family. The food in Grill & Bake is of great quality, the food is always very tasty and warm upon delivery. The pizzas are especially nice. Grill & Bake is also a great value for money. Not only does it have a good selection with good pricing, when ordering pizzas, you will always receive a smaller pizza for free! A lot nicer than just typical free bottled drink you tend to get. The staff here are also really polite, the delivery times also being within expectations set by the store. Grill & Bake is an overall great experience, highly recommended!

Ordered a grill & bake mega offer for delivery, Waited exactly an hour until I was wondering where my food was, I rung them back up to check up on my order and the women told me that the delivery driver went to the wrong address and that she was trying to ring me back and I didn’t answer even tho I gave her the correct address and phone number and if I wanted the food I’ll have to wait an extra 45 minutes and pay an extra delivery charge on top. Not great at all

Ordered a mixed grill kebab, turned up full or grease, when I called to complain I was told this impossible.

I will admit not the greatest takeaway in Newport just because of a couple of simple mistakes. The pizza is way to greasy and when you pick the pizza up the oil is dripping from the pizza. The chips are cold and could be a bit more cooked. The fried chicken is dry and no seasoning can be taste from the skin and the white meat can be dry and also the chicken isn’t cut correctly one piece can be really small and the other can be half a chicken leg. The kebab is good but a little less salad can be done the meat is good though. The sauces the gravy and curry is very decent to and is has a good flavour just if the restaurant can improve on these it could easily be 4 or maybe 5 stars.

Ordered pizza meal 3. Pizza had hardly any tomato sauce and barely any of the toppings I asked for, was basically a margherita. Everything was overcooked, had to pick out chips that were edible and chicken was so dry, it was like eating straw, also forgot to put coleslaw in the bag. Half of it went in the bin. This is not the first time we have had problems with orders. Used to be one of my favourite places to eat from, that's why I gave them another chance, but has really gone downhill. I won't be ordering from here again.

So apparently all burgers apparently automatically come with cheese so was my fault burger were no good for my milk intolerant kids

Ordered a mixed dinner wrap , partner had lamb donner yesterday , within an hour I was very ill , diorhoea, shaking feeling sick , partner had the same that night . This was the only thing we both are that day . Suspected food poisoning ,

Ordered a kebab feast pizza and specifically asked for no Mushrooms or onions, which they confirmed over the phone. Pizza turned up FULL of both, I have an allergy to mushrooms and don’t like onions, this is not the first time this happened, would not recommend ordering from there at all.

When I confronted the man that he was sweating in the food he walked of the food looked okay but none of us ate it as we watched sweat from his forehead fall into the meat we tried getting our money back but they said they don't do refunds I didn't even leave the shop with or even touch the food, it's very unpleasant and I will not be going to grill and bake again and I would recommend they employ better staff or at least staff that have a sense of hygiene..

Disgusted order twice before and sent wrong chicken was promised 2 pieces free been trying to receive it for a month and every time apparently no manager. Will never order again not happy at all. Will be finding a new regular place to order from for us and friends also will be sharing on social media a joke if your order is wrong send it back or get a refund

Used to love this place but went in recently ordered my food, but instead of preparing the order the good fellow proceeded to sit down and eat his dinner in front of customers, fave covered with garlic mayonnaise. I voted with my feet

I was looking forward to my ham and mushroom pizza, so succulent and inviting in the box. As I took my first bite I realised I had more than I paid for. The human hair embedded between the cheese and the base that was now being pulled from my mouth was soon followed by vomit. Will never eat from here again.

Normally love this place but the fact you can't pay by cash anymore means they have prob lost bout 30pound a week off me

Went in to collect my order, all 3 staff looked at me but didnt bothered to ask what i was looking for. Staff completely ignored me for 5 mins as they served one of there delivery drivers and then continued using their mobile phone. Staff were looking at each other and smiling while i was waiting to be served.

We ordered our food, called the restaurant after an hour and had no response, and then the driver called and said he was five minutes away, we called back several times, had no response and our food never arrived. By this time, everywhere in our area had closed and we were left without food. Beyond disappointed, seeking a full refund and some sort of compensation for the sheer rudeness of the delivery driver, abysmal service.

I loved it, my mate had the same food as me and had the squits for three days. Personally think this was his metabolism and not the take away's fault. These guys have the best chili sauce in Newport.

ordered food and asked for no tomatoes and garlic sauce, food arrived with no sauce and tomatoes. called restaurant and lady on other end of the phone was nice enough however I could hear the manager in the background saying ‘that’s not my problem’. absolutely shocking and disgusting. I even explained I am allergic to tomatoes and they explained this was not their problem. waste of money and awful customer service. I’m local and wouldn’t use them again.

ordered food, received confirmation email saying the restaurant had accepted the order, money has left the bank. after half hour late, lady on the phone told us our order was on the way, after an hour they had no idea about our delivery. obviously some dishonesty along the way!
