Avoid. Delivery took over 40 minutes to deliver, when it was delivered the driver was exasperated, rude and practically ran from our door. Of the use of Uber, no satisfactory service was provided by the store, apart from, “you’ll have to call Uber for a refund, and the drivers will not return for just coffees”, which were on the counter waiting apparently. Blind leading the blind. Oh, and learn to mute the call, hearing “he’s about to lose it” regarding my husband who hadn’t raised his voice, goes to show how lying is provided as on the job teaching.

No food delivered and no one answering the phone ridiculous

Your standard McDonald's experience, not too busy on a weekday at 12 noon, with lots of extra seating upstairs. My muffin was icy in the middle (more of a sorbet centre!) so, 4* for food and 5* for service as they were quick and friendly sorting it out for me, even though I had in fact eaten my berry "sorbet" muffin all up, after the initial surprise it wasn't too bad at all!

The place is located city centric and so the people entering and people gathered outside always make you worry and bothered very much. The buns here compared to ASDA McD is worse here. The stuffing is very less besides that one fried piece you get in the middle. The guys over here do not often give a warm gesture of serving either on the table or in the queue. I understand they are mostly students, however, this reception should matter for the students and it has to be mentored that being nicer starts here.

They didn't let us heat the baby's milk, and they also didn't give us hot water so that we could heat the milk.! The burgers weren't delicious! The staff is not responsive The staff is not responsive! I came from far away and my child is hungry for 8 months, could not eat warm milk! I am from Ukraine and have been living in the UK for over a year. More than once I came to Newport on business, and captured this MacDonald. In the toilet, where a child changes diapers, it is always very dirty! To be honest, I was shocked that I was not allowed to heat milk for the baby! And if we compare, in Ukraine I was always satisfied with MacDonald. Both food and service! But here I am very dissatisfied and I can confidently say that I can no longer love this place. I would like you to pay attention to this, since this is a children's café and they treat children terribly. 22.02.2024 I was there from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Pretty good branch, the staff work really hard and the food is usually above average. My main gripe is the amount unruly kids that think annoying and bad behaviour is acceptable when they're not being supervised by an adult, and the staff make not attempt to control it.

My kids loves it here, always likes watching them cook in the kitchen from behind the counter

Absolutely disgusted with my experience at McDonald’s in the high street this evening, ordered me and my child food, to then be told “we gave it to someone else on accident” no apology nothing. Then when I eventually got my food my fries where half empty and when noted to one of the managers the reply was “oh well what do you want me to do” shocking!

Since my last review good improved here service was fast was busy on arrive staff told off kids for swearing good on them

Ordered from this store and my drink was missing they gave us small fries in a large fries box the entire order was freezing cold and when i called to ask for a refund whoever answered the phone was extremely blunt and unhelpful and ordered me to go through uber eats

Food took a while to arrive, fries were soggy, rubbish on the floor and tables were not cleaned.

I was sitting at the table with the iPads trying to see what the technology was about and I was trying to turn the iPad so I could get a better view and a somewhat manager came over to the table and accused me of trying to steal the iPad. “You’re trying to undo it I’m not stupid, don’t be an idiot” I take insults very seriously and to think I got insulted by a manager when I was trying to do something completely harmless disgusts me. She was short-ish with brown hair and glasses. I will be getting in touch with the store myself. Feel free to check cameras, my girlfriend was there trying to help me turn it. I’m disgusted

I walked here with my friend, who was having his theory test in a couple hours. We aren't Newportonian. Rather, we're Cardiffian-Asians. Right, the upstairs seating area has air conditioning; it's ice cold. -And stuck on, according to one of the staff members. I see that as a benefit. Walking to this McDonald's; you tend to get quite hot, so air conditioning is an excellent way to cool off, in preparation for a feast. But, back to the point. Speaking of staff, the friendly staff like to chat, which is nice if you're extroverted. I replied to an employee who delivered my relatively large order, up the two flights of stairs; he apologized for the wait, to which I told him that I wouldn't blame him, especially with all those stairs. He told me that it's exhausting. After that, I think just I made a new friend. Too bad I'm not local to Newport. I should've tipped the guy... Back to the topic at hand. The food was great, probably one of the best McDonald's I've had in years, which makes me wonder why Americans seem to despise their own McDonald's restaurants. Perhaps this Newport McDonald's is just a shining example of fast food in the west! So, if you're a Cardiffian, with a friend who has a theory test booked in at Newport's Clarence House ('cause Limerick House is all booked up), and you're hungry, why not spend the next hour with a nice 20 piece set of chicken nuggets, in a nicely air conditioned, clean environment? If you're not afraid of multi-storey car parks, instead of spending your nights driving to service station McDonald's restaurants, why not go to this McDonald's instead, and park your pride and joy at the Clarence House multi-storey? It's only £2 for 3 hours!

Went for a coffee this am. Had the flat white it was quite yuck. But I needed the caffeine. Haven't been in there for ages.

Food is always hot service is great

Although we received a small mistake with our order, the staff member who reported the issue (man with glasses) for us and subsequently the manager came and spoke with us. Talk about great customer service, both gentlemen were very understanding, thoughtful and considerate. Both men did a superb job and are a credit to Mcdonald's. Thank you for a lovely lunchtime eating experience, it was much appreciated.

We went into McDonald's for a quick lunch! Ordered a bbq double large meal, and my wife had a cheese burger meal. I think the burger maker had a moment as my burger was put into my wife's box with tomato sauce on it, and my wife's burger was put in my box with bbq sauce on it! Some more training, I think!!

Kids runn8ng and messing around then m3ss8ng about outsid3 and there were large gangs.

Very slow service went yesterday forgot some of my order but did come quickly and they were apologetic. But now me and my son got food poisoning from here its all we had bar cereal biscuits yesterday. Came home with upset stomachs, sweats very suddenly and severe stomach pain now vomiting and diarrhea and pain for the rest of the evening/ early morning. Rest of family are fine luckily Im very pregnant which is so dangerous for me. So dissapointed wont eat here again.

This should be officially named as the worst McDonald’s in the UK.

Long standing establishment, can't fault the service or food. Ice cream machine seems to never have an issue.. can't knock that, can you? 🙂 You do get the odd one or two kids who think it's their personal hang out, but that's to be expected around town..

Fries are always oversalted to make you by a drink if you didn't want one to start with, slow service for a fast food restaurant, mcfluffys are the best thing about mcdonalds

If possible, I don't want to give any stars .The service is terrible. Today, they charged me 10p for curry sauce, while other shops always provide it for free. It's a garbage service.

It's not the best one, always full of rowdy kids, and actually feels unsafe in the evening. Staff are lovely and definitely have their work cut out they do a brilliant job, tbf

I got my take aways twice during my stay in Newport ,last summer ! McPlant vegan burgers were so~good !! 👍👍I got addicted to it ,so repeated 2 more times in Cardiff & also London !! Lol. I had it w/ raw cucumbers 🥒. It was very clean & saved my days( nights ) as I got back from Saundersfoot late at night .( ot was supposedly a direct train,but I had to get off in Cardiff ,then waited for another train to Newport. )And another time ,from Devon ! There weren't many opened late at night near my hotel after checking in at hotels ! I walked about 10 to 15 minutes to this McDonald's from my hotel. I totally felt safe both ways ! Like the locals told me ,it was totally safe despite the reputations & reviews on TripAdvisor site ,so on !! Just avoid areas like Pill at night & further beyond the university accommodation there !! I learned it from the locals advices ! I highly recommend the Mc Plant vegan ( they do have both vegetarian & vegan burgers 🍔😋) burgers !!! Ordering was easy ,too ! I wish if they had it over here in Los Angeles, too !!

Breakfasts are nice, but had a big mac and fries. Were cold.

Okay if you want a quick bite to eat. Normally quite busy, especially at lunchtimes. The last couple of visits I've been lucky enough to get fresh, hot fries.

Typical McD outlet, located at the Newport city centre. Well maintained, quick service and amazing food. My usual pick: Wrap of the day for £1.99 (different on different days of the week - Chicken & Bacon wrap, Sriracha Chicken wrap, Chicken mayo wrap, Chilly chicken wrap- all in Grilled & Crispy variants). The wraps of the day at McDonald’s is far better than the wraps of the day at KFC (priced almost the same at 1.98£, as the latter is too salty and bland. The McDonalds wrap is filled with green vegetables, has a good quality of meat - and is very filling. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ customer service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ambience (cleanliness etc) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ value for money (given that I always eat the wrap of the day and hot chocolate alone) Verdict: Regular visitor

It was a standard McDog's experience; no expectations, no disappointment.

Team wasn't really focused, my coffee was waiting to be sent with my food, but someone ( looks like manager, he was doing some counting and checks on one of the tills ) took it and walk away. I did have to wait for another one. It would be ok if they will stop calling themselves "fast food" because on that visit it wasn't fast at all...

Although it was early after just opening, the ambience seemed to be a bit slow and laid back. The interior was definitely tired and gloomy.😴. The food, as always, with all the outlets I have eaten in, was adequate but uneventful. As personally, I am not a fan of the brand. But when nothing else is open....then yes this will have to do.😏

Too much focus on the delivery orders. Food took about 15 mins (Sunday teatime so really not busy at all…) and even then came Luke warm. No apologies for the wait. All the staff I could see looked like they didn’t care. Don’t bother coming here….

When fast food isn't fast anymore. Saturday 16.15 ordered food. Place was very busy. Our number was called 15 minutes later to collect food from counter. Fried were stone cold, burger looked like it had been thrown together half the burger & cheese hanging out of the bun. Looking at the drinks they had ready poured to go with meals, hope nobody wanted a hot drink, as you were getting one. These were being poured and left on the side for the duration of your wait on food. Half the lids didn't fit.

Bit into a Egg shells left inside egg muffin! Disgusting

I've ordered multiple times from this Mc Donald's and yet still constantly messing up my orders via Just Eat

Wow what an utter catastrophe!!!!! The attendant at the checkout couldn't process 1 extra value meal, after 5 minutes when the person who came to help put through the order wrong I felt I just had to leave, especially after seeing the crowd The displays showed multiple orders ready to collect however it was obvious the people were still awaiting there food to be prepared, very impatiently so. Uber eats drivers were shouting at staff as their apps told them to collect food however noone would acknowledge them or give them the orders. While waiting 5 minutes I saw one meal be passed to a customer, fast food surely is faster than this, I dread to think how long I would have been waiting, and how cold and stale those fries stacked on the side would have become. I feel sorry for those having home deliveries, the food appeared to be stored in bags at room temperature, I can't imagine customers enjoying luke warm food when finally delivered. It's clear this establishment can't handle any busy periods, the lack of management was astonishing. Simply standing in the restaurant queue was an immensely stressful situation.

Service was slow and food was cold on arrival. The floor at the entrance was wet and slippy and almost caused a number of accidents. One member of staff actually lost their footing whilst carrying a tray of food due to this. Tread carefully when visiting.

I just got myself a meal from here. I took it home and warmed it in my microwave, first bite of my burger and something stringy like was in my mouth so as i was pulling it out of my mouth i realised it was a HAIR a long black hair that was in my burger!! Not impressed, absolutely disgusting.

If you have an allergy I would avoid it. First time I was in this location and probably the last. Staff seems fed up with customers so I didn't even want to bother taking this back. My coke was definitely diet not zero as well.

This McDonald's will keep you waiting for no reason. I was stood there waiting and then after several minutes decided to ask where my order was. The staff member then just reached around the corned and it was there. Just sitting in the bag getting cold. They had one job, call out order. They couldn't do this. A machine could do this better.

The service is a total mistake, the lady who cleans there is not nice and it is not the first time when I am there, she is always very not nice and always has a problem I saw several times but today she writes a complaint because she did not behave very professionally. I was asked that I was to leave the scooter, which was turned off, the lady who was cleaning, shouted at me and my daughter scared this woman, etc. with the law, I just wanted to place an order and leave the reason was that the scooter may explode 🤦🏻‍♀️ she could come up with something better 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I do not recommend !!!!

Have McDonald's reduced the portion sizes of their McFlurries? I got only half the amount of ice cream in the Newport (South Wales) town centre branch that I normally get whenever I eat at the Ely Leisure Village branch.

We where very impressed by the service as we entered a lovely lady called.Debbie assisted us showed us how to order on the screen as we are both pensioners and not up to this technology even found us a seat we are on holiday so poped in for a coffee and burger all fine but this lady went the extra Mile to be so helpful kind regards mr &mrs hughes

Worst service. I ordered veggie deluxe and I received wrong order after waiting 45 min. All items were cold. No straw for Coke, no Ketchup. Very bad experience. When you complain they will refund you but no use of refund when you are too hungry and you have to wait for extra 45 min.

I been to several McDonald’s, Their service was excellent but, I will never recommend you this McDonald. Their service was very very slow. They made me wait for long time. No body did not said at least a thank you or sorry, Nothing. I been to McDonald’s that was more busy than this still they were very fast, nice and polite.

Had a chicken legend meal. The chicken was overcooked and rock hard. I'd bought it as a takeaway and opened it when I was on the train leaving Newport. Couldn't eat it and I was very disappointed

Went there today as my young son needed the toilet. Asked the "lady" if we could use the toilet as my son needed to go. She was very frosty ie RUDE as hell and said we needed to buy something. By the time I bought something my son would have wet himself. She did eventually let us use the toilet. They probably have had alot of trouble so was weary but that's not really the point. We were hardly the "type" as she would have perceived. To be honest I think she was just a complete arse and does not represent the mac donalds franchise at all well. Definitely will not go back to that mc donalds. By the looks of the other reviews, it is By far one of the worst mc donalds around. People will not return and I'm not surprised it was very quiet in there.

I called at this McDonalds (High Street, Newport) yesterday 15/03/22 and my boyfriend ordered some food and offered to pay with a £20 (paper) note. Dave Savage, an assistant said that it was the franchisee's decision not to take paper notes. He refused to give me the franchisee's name or telephone number. I was told to ring McDonalds head office. How rude. I'll never go here again. This franchisee has 16 outlets apparently.

So I ordered a mc Donald's this afternoon with uber eats to receive my food withing half hour of placing the order which is fab only when I opened my milkshake to my meal the milkshake was pure banana syrup or liquid no ice cream or milk at all never ordering from here again thanks for the grub literally

Ordered on just eat when delivered mcdonalds hadn't sealed fanta drinks correctly had leaked and soaked the paper bag so when picking it up from doorstep floor where just eat driver left it bag fell through whole large fanta all over my passage floor couldn't get hold of shop and having to go back and for emailing photos to mcdonalds customer service was offered £5 off when I spent £5 disgusting insult not only went without drink but had to get on hands and knees clearing up mess in my hallway I will definitely not be ordering from these again they definitely don't give a damn about their customers SHOCKING

Possibly the worst McDonald's I've been to. Chips were stone cold, chocolate milkshake was actually vanilla, didn't get the sweet chilli sauce with my chicken selects. Service was fast though.
