Family Kebab in Newport

These were the worst kebabs I've ever had—pure salt on a plate. The garlic sauce was green and looked unappetizing, as if someone had been sick over the food. It was horrible, and I will never go back. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. I had the special mix, and nothing was edible; it was so salty. Absolutely horrible.

Chicken kebabs was very very greasy so much that it had leaked through the paper and into the carrier bag. The chicken kebab on chips was more like chips, salad & sauce hardly any chicken what so ever. Won’t be ordering again awful 😣

Would never go the again. Ask for a small box and the staff was rude and said I would have to pay £1 for it, even tho I spent £40. Lost a customer over £1. Most of the 5 star reviews are paid. The food was 4/10. Would not recommend

Food is OK, but the waiting time is absolutely ridiculous. Almost 2h waited for a kebab 😬🙄 I don't think so they're that busy.

They are very round one the phone sitting up a cousmer and miss up order and take out on customers they are not very good company at all. They disgusting food they Up order twice forgotten me button pop

Food was delivered piping hot well ahead of the 40minutes quoted. The chips were crispy and the fried chicken was cooked to perfection. Staff are so friendly the young lady that takes telephone orders is really helpful and the delivery staff are always polite and happy. Definitely highly recommend family kebab. Wouldn't order anywhere else.

In my opinion the best Kebab shop in Newport. Never fails to deliver perfectly cooked food.

Put order in waited 1 hour,,,nothing arrived so phoned restaurant to be told was to be picked up when we stated delivery when it came 30min later was swimming in garlic mayor and chicken under cooked ,,,I think meal was rushed as at 1st I asked for refund and cancel order ,,,I will not use again

Awful. Rang to ask where the salad and sauce were told I should have ordered it.. didn't know as I went by the picture. Chips so greasy.. and cold.. put them in the Air fryer and the amount of grease in the bottom was gross. Over an hour for delivery. First and last time....

Ordered kebab in a box.. arrived cold with no salad or sauces. Ran g and asked about it and was told I needed to request it... Save your money....

Sitting area Is small and cramped and they took forever just to make chips they kept saying 10 minutes waited for 43 minutes

These legends serve good food and they also returned my phone to me which I’d left behind like an idiot! Can’t fault for food or service

Home delivery! Excellent Dona Kebab could fault it plenty of dona meat and a nice amount of salad. This was our first try with Family at Caerleon Rd, and will definitely have them again. Not expensive and delivered in a good time.

Recently had a menu posted through my letter box. I had other letters in the way, to which the person posting removed from my letter box and did not return. Thankfully they were not important and mostly junk mail, but we will never order from here now.

Seems to be new guys running the show. Prices have come down a bit and I've started picking up my orders because the food is just better.

They need to fix their signs in store However, just like always, the food was absolutely amazing. The staff are incredibly friendly and it's always a good laugh to have a chat with them. I like the fact that they make the food in front of you an overall is a brilliant establishment the only family I ever need Xp

In this kebap no have desk with menu inside is not very clean and tidi and the owner is not correct for his new drivers and don't pay them this who is promise.

Whenever I order kebab I always order from family kebabs as their wraps are delicious, well I ordered wraps, chips and a quarter pounder with cheese. The chips were hard but powdery inside and the burger? It was pathetic and they even managed to burn the bun, not even a whole slice of cheese. I will probably order elsewhere next time.

Been eating from family kebab for years always good never to late and super friendly brothers in the kitchen the bbq chicken is the bees knees and you get a free small pizza with it!

Ordered fried chicken and chips and pepperoni pizza. Chicken fell apart. Chips were undercooked but they also managed to make them like cardboard. The pizza was the worst I’ve ever had. Hardly any sauce and too much cheese. The worst bit was pepperoni was put on before the cheese so was raw. Think they must be confused what topping means. First time trying this place and is also the last now

until today I was a customer 3 years after I was treated, I ordered a kebab which was cold and without garlic sauce and without xxlarge they added spicy sauce when I called them I asked for Whatsapp to send them a photo they said they have a business number and I can't send them a photo , I told them that I would take this order and show them to them, but they would not refund me for the fuel and give me my fresh warm order, they said I must be joking and they were laughing then I heard bye bye and they hung up. I prefer to go a little further to cwmbrn for a kebab there they respect the customer than buy at familly kebab I will never go back there and I ordered a lot

Well iv had no problems for around 10 years iv used family. Sometimes upto 4-5 nights a week. Yesterday my son placed a pizza order around 8, all good everything great. I placed an order on just eat around 11.10 chicken burger, chips and a can of coke, plus delivery just under £12.00. When my food arrives 11.40. I opened it. Was burnt beyond chicken burger so burnt it was the couler of a beef burger. Tried to call but was closed. Came in from work and thought maybe I'll order, seen my food o side from last night thought ill go e them a call, see what they say. I explained and the girl on the phone goes uuuuuuuh ok, I'll tell them to cook it properly next time. I wasn't expecting my money back or anything but POOR show Family for the thousands of pounds iv spent with u and never once completed. That's the customer service I get for food I could not eat. Don't there will be a next time. I'll go somewhere eles if that's the way you treat loyal customers.

Always had good food from here and fast delivery.

Had to wash the kebab meat as the sauce has congeled or gone off. Once washed meat was pale with a weird taste so stopped eating incase i became ill. Chips were lovely as was the plentiful salad but turned off by the meat. Partner had a wrap which was good. But be aware the wrap is a giant pitta wrapped. Not a wrap.

Average kebab wrap. Kofte was bland.

My child gt food poisoning and they was very rude over the phone

For years I've ordered from family but the last 6 months they've gone down hill tonight I ordered again giving them the benefit of doubt to have delivered burned cold small portion of food again I'm done never again

Googled kebab houses in Newport, found this one. Clicked on menus ... “ kebab in a box “ £7.50 ( as per the photos from their google page ) When IT told me how much it was I said that the menu said it was £7.50 I was advised by IT that they were £10 and haven’t been £7.50 for many years. I said okay no problem and continued to collect my order. When I arrived the gent behind the counter said “ you think you seen for £7.50 we checked it doesn’t say it “ I showed him where it was and he still said no no .. I told them 3 times it doesn’t matter and laughed it’s only a couple of quick difference ... i was then greeted by something that I guess is the person that answers the phones loudly explaining that she doesn’t know what I’m on about she’s checked and it doesn’t say it anywhere. Again I explained that I wasn’t bothered anyway I didn’t know why they are still going on about it... I was being spoken about in the business as if I was causing trouble and as if I wasn’t there. I hadn’t asked for the price to be changed I hadn’t mentioned it until it was mentioned to me nothing. The arrogant woman stayed out the back I genuinely felt embarrassed as if I should ever question them. Lastly got the food back and the kebab was freezing cold, wrong sauce in the pot but the chips were nice. I’ve attached both images taken from their google page that I based my order on. If it’s wrong it’s wrong it doesn’t matter just say “ sorry it’s wrong / an old price it’s X amount “ don’t then challenge your customers when they haven’t even mentioned it. Never again! I’d rather pay double than deal with people like you!!!!

Want hair in your take-away? Order from them. They lucky I find it way too late.... I just hope it wasn't from a rodent. Don't eat from them if you value your health.

Food was excellent and plentiful

I've been a regular customer for a few years now, but tonight I prepaid for an order which was scheduled for 8pm. The food eventually turned up at 9.10pm and was stone cold. I rang the shop only to be told that they were too busy to deal with it!! Absolutely disgusting customer service and a loyal customer lost. The only reason I've given a 1 star review is because I can't give 0 stars.

So I did order this late, looks like it was a case of its the last order I'm not getting another bun sort of situation to me. One unhappy customer 😠

Phone a order 3 box's of chicken and chips and it was cold ,,, wen I ring I said I was sort of 3 piece of chicken so the diver brought it out and I said it was cold and he said that they just cooked it but that was cold asked well

Food was hot which is good but only issue I had was I found hair in the donner.

I ordered a delivery of lamb & chicken shish mixed kebab ,which is not what I normally have as I usually have donna meat. It was lovely. Really nice big pieces of chicken and lamb . Coojed to perfection . A little tip is to have your salad separate so it doesn't cool the kebab down to quick . Even the chips were hot when they arrived. Definitely recommend 👌

Been using family kebab for some time now and never had a problem in all normally great experience but last night was disappointed with it I will state girls on the phone were brill before we go any further but we ordered 2 kebab boxes and the meal was wrong and when turned up was freezing so called the shop which the girls stated that they would send a fresh one when the second arrived I might aswell had paid for chips as their was no meat on it at all I hope it picks up their as like I said normally good experience

Always order from here, very disappointed this evening, ordered a family pizza meal and extra chicken, turned up missing my extra chicken, I called they said would take 45 mins, the girl on phone was friendly but whoever she was relaying details to in the background was so rude, could here the whole conversation, her attitude was terrible, Will not order from here again, no need to be rude
