Starbucks in Newport

Popped in for a drink and a bite to eat with my mum yesterday, we both had the mozzarella and tomato panini, it was alright, not fantastic but not terrible, it tasted very bland but it was edible, however we think it should contain pesto, my mum ordered a latte witch I believed she liked, i had a Spanish lemonade, they didn't have any fizzy drinks at all, they only had 3 to 4 cold drink options and my lemonade was bitter and sour, the tables were dirty and so was the floor, the rolls and paninis choices weren't massive, but at least they had some choice, very friendly staff but quite expensive, 6/10 experience

We arrived at Starbucks friers walk. We immediately noticed our shoes sticking to the floor, we ordered our drinks and a toasted teacake and sat down. The tables were filthy, the chairs were grungy, this was 9.30 in the morning, I went to use the facilities, firstly I had to use the soap dispenser to wash the seat, the smell was like a mens public toilet. It was awful. Had I not had a medical condition that meant I could find other facilities I would have. I then started to look more critically and noticed what looked like streaks on the tiles. Where the toilet had been missed. I left grabbed my friend and got out of there. Never have I been to a place where I felt I needed a shower more. I felt grungy. I will never go into that filthy place again.

Last I checked the aim was to provide the drink the way the customer wanted, lord knows we pay enough. Apparently not, as I discovered today, when despite asking for a slightly larger cup as I wanted a dash of milk I was told no. This is how they do it and I would be getting the same amount regardless of what cup. Customer service beyond poor. Should have gone to Coffee#1 . Never again!

Starbucks management.. you need to train your shop floor staff to have some get up and go, as its clearly all gone! Coffee order was wrong as well. Take some lessons from Cwmbran Starbucks

good as far as starbucks goes, they didnt make my drink right the first time but all is good as they made me a new one no problem. overpriced but thats starbucks

Everytime we visit, they mess our order up and leave us waiting ages. Staff are rather rude and have no patience for their errors

I’ve been a loyal customer at this Starbucks for the last 6 or 7 years. I’ve never had anything I didn’t like, and I’ve never had a bad experience. The barista’s are always friendly, the place is always clean. Yes there can be a wait sometimes as some other people have pointed out, but what people need to understand is they are dealing with a lot of orders when there’s lots of people in the cafe. So of course there’s going to be a bit of a wait at times. I wish people would be more respectful about that, as the baristas are trying really their best and some people’s attitudes towards them is absolutely appalling

Left waiting at the till not greeted while staff had a quick catch up . Waited and waited for 2 white coffees not worth the wait.

Seemed to take forever for hot drinks, although quiet in there & girl making these more interested in chatting to friends waiting before me, was preoccupied. Server on till was fine however she didn't listen properly, as missed 1 drink I'd asked for & I wasn't wearing a mask I don't speak quietly; all rushed through to then take long waiting & made to feel anxious. Had been week before & given sachets left for me asked for with a stirrer, I ask for 2 as prefer to taste as drinking then add a 2nd, if necessary - was insisted these were put in because of minimising touching.. surely that's more handling of an ingredient before it gets to customer - no touching off me last time I was handed sachets & stirrer?! I didn't see her stir anything in my cups either. Unfriendly drinks making server. No chocolate on neither cappuccino, one cup 2/3rds full, poor & disappointing.

Staff were lovely and everything was clearly sign posted with arrows to show entrance and exit in regards to Covid. However, none of the tables were cleaned and the floor & chairs had food all over them - I am putting this down to the fact there were only two girls working and so they needed to manage the front but there does need to be someone managing the seating area and cleaning.

I visited at about 10am for a breakfast role and coffee with my daughter. Breakfast roll and coffee were great but the place itself looked unkempt and dirty. The toilet wasn't good either. The staff are friendly and polite and working in very difficult circumstances.

I’ve used this branch of Starbucks for some months now and it is consistently disappointing. Despite being huge, it’s dark, incredibly poorly furnished with few seating options. The service is terribly slow despite it not being particularly busy, I’m surprised that they need to be told how to make certain beverages; for instance only one shot in a short drink?! Most importantly it’s grubby, stained furniture and dirty surfaces and floors; it needs a deep clean. Going to Nero, I give up...

The size of the restraunt is great, however the furniture is heavily stained, the space could be used more effectively. It could do with a good clean, staff lovely and pleasant..

I rarely come into Starbucks based on personal taste for coffee, finding it to have somewhat of a chemical taste. However I enjoy the cold drinks, the mango coolers in particular being packed full of taste. The Kingsway shop is modern and relaxing, however I find it has hardly any seating and I usually end up on the side bench where usually people with laptops are, rather than at a table with comfy chairs. There usually is only two people behind the counter, and therefore it does take a long time to receive your order; I have found I wait for my drink between 5-8 minutes on average and often find a big group of people waiting at the by pass for their orders.

I pop in here for coffee couple if times a week. Have to say Linda is a terrific asset to Starbucks. Always very friendly, remembered my name and coffee order after 2 visits!! Super impressed. Keep up the good work

Good coffee but struggled to drink order as girl who served me was wearing a black fleece that was covered in either cat or dog hair. Either way not pleasant!

Have been to this coffee shop multiple times and always been short staffed but they work hard and are usually friendly

Visited at 5pm Saturday after a long day in Newport. Every table was a mess, loads of cups and wrappers. Ordered drinks, staff delivered incorrect orders. Not impressed at all, will not return.

Table was filthy and wonky, the floor was stickier than a nightclub and I work in one so I should know. There's a better coffee place across the way, go there instead.

I love the fact there is a lot of outside seating as when it’s sunny outside the outdoor area is a great place to catch some rays. Always seems empty inside, and not many staff but clean enough inside. The only downfall are the toilets,...

Called in here for fruit toast around 11 O'clock this morning. We waited at the counter for the servers to stop chatting to place out order. The floor in front of the payment area had quite a large spill that had not been cleaned up....

I tend to avoid coffee chains but at 4.15pm on a Friday afternoon a lot of the independent coffee shops are shutting up shop. So stumbled into Starbucks. Great coffee, great staff and clean tables outside. Well done.

First visit to the town centre in at least twenty years. Isaac was super efficient, other staff take note. Its a chain, but in a prime spot. Nice coffee, but please bin the right wing newspaper's. Will be back though.

Cleanliness here is appalling. Dirty service tops, rubbish left at tables and condiment area. Service took quite a while for two drinks considering we were the only two people at the counter. Used the toilet there and I have to be honest I was disgusted,...

Good location, a lot of seating (albeit some of it directly outside the toilets), good selection of coffee, tea and sweets. Cleanliness could be better and tables cleared quicker.
