Wonderful location and view. Very welcoming staff. The décor and atmosphere are posh and romantic. We celebrated my birthday there and didn't regret our choice. The food was outstanding, complemented by the professional staff. It's definitely one of the best restaurants in Newport.

I was in Steak on Six recently to celebrate a birthday. We had a very enjoyable time. Food was excellent and our steaks cooked to perfection. Service was very efficient and professional but friendly. Many thanks to Karol and Stefano for making that evening extra special. Will definitely go back.

A lovely restaurant perfect to celebrate a special occasion or as a treat! A little pricey but the service was priceless! Staff were very attentive when I mentioned my gluten intolerance and were able to offer a number of alternatives; avoiding gluten. They all went above and beyond to ensure I was happy with food options which I am very grateful for! Lovely Portuguese waiter- didn’t catch his name!

We have had breakfast here when staying at the hotel so decided to give Sunday Lunch a try and we were not disappointed! From the outset the service was excellent and attentive from John our waiter. All three courses were beautifully presented and delicious, we all had the pea and ham soup to start, beef for main and chocolate hazelnut mousse for dessert. It was one of the best lunches I have experienced and I thought good value for money. Wine is quite expensive but we expected this being a hotel restaurant. The restaurant has a lovely ambience and is very comfortable. Tables are nicely spaced too. I would definitely recommend and return, we are already planning our next visit!

We were staying in the Celtic Manor so decided to go to Steak on Six. We are steak lovers hence the choice of this restaurant- there are quite a few restaurants available on site. We were not disappointed. The service is top notch - John, our waiter, was very attentive. The 3 course meal costs £78 and we paid a £24 supplement for the chateaubriand. The food was delicious and brought out quite quickly. The steak was cooked to perfection- medium rare as requested. We tried two of the sauces and they were delicious. Dessert was great too. Pavlova for my wife and I had the lemon and rosemary tart. We left well fed and happy very happy with our choice.

We were given a voucher for Sunday Lunch for a Christmas present. Left it until this weekend as celebrating our 39th wedding anniversary. The whole experience from start to finish was excellent, all of the food was first class and the staff were all very helpful and attentive. When they knew it was our anniversary we were given a complimentary glass of champagne. Will definitely be going back and would recommend.

Fabulous dinner, great wine choices and good service. Delicious chateaubriand! A really fun evening with AWJ hosting as part of his Mimosa Rwm company promotion. Every course was delicious and well presented, so I’d definitely choose to eat at Steak on Six again!

We dined at this restaurant on a Friday, as we arrived we were the first people in the restaurant but it quickly filled up. The service was amazing and quite unique to what we’re used to- Eucan was a very lovely waiter! The food was incredible and we thought that the price was brilliant for the quality and taste! We were absolutely full to the brim. If we’re ever to be back in the Celtic Manor, we know exactly where we’ll be dining.

Started off fabulous with a waiter who was outstanding , sadly I think his shift ended during our visit as it then descended into chaos ! No water was offered , no wine was offered ( despite requesting to order when main arrived) the empty cocktail glass and wine glasses ( good indicator of our intention ) were not removed … in contrast the table of six men to the right of me had TWO staff waiting on them pouring water , wine then tea and coffee .. clearly earmarked as a larger tip .. an assumption that proved true as the tip for our £200 bill was zero to match the service ! But here’s a tip you can have , ONE fabulous waiter in a staff of FIVE does not equal a fine dining experience ! Up your game or lower your prices !

Avoid like the plague if you have allergies, how difficult can it be to cater for people in a steakhouse. Other than Lewys who was amazing this was probably the worst dining experience we have had. We went in 4 hours before our booking to go through the allergies (as well as letting them know when we booked a month in advance) and we were told everything would be fine, got to the restaurant and had to wait an hour for bread as they had to go and find some gluten free elsewhere then told we couldn’t have chips, potatoes or mash with the main but we could have salad! 2 phone calls and 2 promises of a call back but nothing, they obviously do not care about their customers. We have been to burger vans which cater better for allergies than this supposedly 2 rosette restaurant

Had a very long drive, so arrived 20 mins early. Told to find the bar & get a drink. Ordered a fizzy water - barman returned to say didn’t have any. When we were seated in restaurant & had Sunday roast beef - I asked to have some green veg (came with red cabbage, potatoes, cauliflower & carrot purée). After asking again - different waiter, was told, “the chef didn’t do greens” - was totally gobsmacked! Some chef! And what about customer service? Will not be returning to this place - extremely disappointed.

This is a fantastic restaurant, in a fantastic venue. The quality of the food, and attentiveness & knowledge of the staff (even on a relatively quiet Monday evening) is second to none and I would highly recommend anybody that wants a special night out to give it a try.

Our waitress Steph was great, she gave us good recommendations for our dishes and was very attentive. Nothing to say about the dishes, perfect from start to finish. A treat thank you 🙏

This was our first time at Celtic Manor Resort and after seeing the menu, we had to visit Steak on Six. The menu had a lot of variety, the staff were very friendly and accommodating and the food was insanely good. We will definitely be visiting again to try other choices on the menu.

It was nice and we had a nice break, but you can get much better quality for the same price elsewhere. Our steaks were overcooked (was med not med rare).

Was really hyped up for this place Opted for a surcharge of £25 for what I would believe to be a better bit of steak I was wrong The guys I was with had the rump and the lamb and to be fair looked amazing.. Maybe I was unlucky with mine as the place does have a great feel and the service was amazing

We had the three course set meal on a Thursday which whey were doing with a glass of champagne. The menu was fabulous with plenty to choose from in all three sections. When the food came it was delicious. I had the Scallops followed by Fillet Steak (small surcharge) and Creme Brulee to finish. Absolutely no complaints at all. We were waited on by Lewys who was an absolute star. All in all a great night and we will be back... I'll remember to take photos next time!!

Basically the charging structure of everyone pays £70 for a 3 course meal ,Except if you have a Fillet steak whereas you pay an extra £6 is wrong. Unless you choose the most expensive choice of each course its not a good deal. I feel cheated that I can’t choose what I want with the relevant price.

From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, we were made to feel welcome by the staff. Big shout out to young Lewys who was so attentive and courteous. The food was amazing, we can't wait to go back! Thanks for a great experience. 👍

Ate here in the last few days. Arrived early and was asked to have drinks in their lounge at the end of the corridor. Went down there to find nobody serving and had to wait 15 minutes until someone arrived. Finally seated 10 minutes late and was only then informed it was a fixed menu at £70 per head. I explained nobody had told us this when we booked and was rudely told “it’s on the website”. Charming. Food was good but not great. Starters all good. Main courses were okay but the lamb in the mixed grill was undercooked and slimy. After mains we decided we didn’t want a desert and asked if they could adjust the price. The same manager who had advised me about the website rudely insisted he had told me at the start. When I pointed out I had little choice at that point given it was 9:45pm he told me I could have left!! What a cheek. At £70 per head I would expect better customer service management skills. His manager then came across and insisted exactly the same - I could have left! I got very cross with their arrogance and dismissive nature and insisted they bring me the bill and negate the service. Such a shame to be frank - the waitress was excellent however with managers like that I wasn’t prepared to line their pockets to be so rude. So we paid the correct price and left “suitably chastised” which was clearly the managers’ intention. Celtic Manor - train your staff better please. As per the rest of your hotel - “huge room for improvement”. I have given service 1 star simply because the waitress herself was good. Otherwise it would be zero. Overall 2 stars because being objective, the food was good but not great. Is it a £70 per head before drink? Not a chance.

Ate here last night and the food was absolutely awful. We ordered scallaps to start and they wasnt cooked right through they was slimey. We then ordered a mix grill for 2 which the lamb was so raw, the chicken was dry and the steak was so tough it was inedible.

It is a very nice place. They have a lovely service. I ordered welsh pork as a starter. It was fantastic, it felt like melting in the mouth. And then I had the English Rib Eye, medium-rare. De-li-ci-ous! All finsihed by a cherry chocolate praline dessert. Lovely! I can only recommend this place if you are nearby.

Service was good .. although it does seem to be living on its ego ..We had a mixed grill .. steak was perfectly cooked but the quality of meat was disappointing considering the price ..steak/Chicken and lamb with a bottle of wine .the 3 course came to £170 for 2 people ..good service let down by the produce not the chefs

Good service. My burger was huge and my wife loved her steak. The staff were attentive and not too intrusive.

Great food, however the prices are completely outrageous for the poor level of service you get. Can get a world class 5 star meal in London for half the price

Food here is insane - a magical experience. If visiting you have to visit - it's pricey but 100% worth it. Service was brilliant too. Highly recommend.

Excellent service with an amazing view. The food was good, but there was a substantial wait between courses. Nicely presented and well cooked but I think it could be improved (food temperature was a bit tepid). Overall a nice place to eat.

Amazing food and service! Went here on a Sunday and had the Sunday roast. I chose beef and it was the nicest Sunday roast I've ever had! Although it was a rainy day the views still didn't disappoint and I will definitely be returning to sample more in the summer. Would highly recommend.

Attended 24/10/2021. We stayed for two nights, we could not get a reservation here even though we were staying in the signature rooms. I went to the restaurant to ask the FoH if he could let us know if there was any cancellations. James called to advise a table was available, a while later and we enjoyed an amazing meal. The staff were extremely competent, friendly and attentive. Senior Management please take note as James deserves recognition of his service that has exceeded our expectations, in fairness the whole staff were brilliant. This is our 4th visit, the last two have been somewhat disappointing but I’m glad you have provided a wonderful experience on this occasion.

A beautiful of pricey experience. Two starters, steaks and a mid price bottle of merlot leaves you little change from £150. But a delightful experience from the staff. Esp Marmot the manager.

We visited Steak on Six to celebrate the end of my Mum's cancer treatment and we had a wonderful meal together. The staff are attentive without being too over the top and the food was absolutely incredible. There was also a really good choice and alternatives for people who aren't fond of steak. I don't live local but would definitely return for a special occasion in the future.

Wonderful experience. The staff is very helpfull and knowledgeable of their menu. The wine list is very decent. And the Steak... O-M-G!!! I went to lot of steakhouse around the world, so far my number one was a restaurant in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Now this is Steak On Six, Wales. I had the Irish Beef Fillet, blue cooked. It was warm and soft, a pure softness pleasure. Absolutely amazing.
