The best restaurants in Newport South Wales

As ever! Absolutely stunning food. I have never tasted anything so good in my life. Genuine authentic Thai food cooked from scratch. Love everything about this place A* Sadly no photo because I needed to get it in my belly as fast as possible 🤤 Thank you x

A relaxed ambience and attentive staff. Expectations were high with a £78 set menu (3 courses). We both had the pork belly to start which was very tasty and succulent. I had a sirloin and my husband a rump steak for main. These were very disappointing. The sirloin was extremely tough and chewy - almost inedible. I swapped for my husbands rump as this was less chewy but still far from an acceptable standard for the cost of the menu. Very poor quality meat - as it appeared to be cooked as requested (medium rare) - but so hard. My husband had the cheeseboard for dessert - nothing special, akin to what you’d pay £7/8 for in a pub. I had the pavlova which was very nice - but again, didn’t really reflect the cost. Overall a very disappointing experience. £185 for the two menus and two Heineken beers. Extortionate - hugely overpriced for the food served.

Took 2hrs for a delivery twice when we live in Newport, aswell as forggeting items on the last delivery, won't be using again. Rang after waiting 1hr and 30 minute's, told it would be leaving in 5 minutes, rang again at the 2hr mark to be told it left 5 minutes ago.😡 ordered garlic bread with cheese to the get this.

Having a dine in on a Sat night. Didn't quite fancy a night in a pub. I love these out of hours, friendly places. Just a coffee in movie world.

Usually get a perfect service but today they missed a naan from the order so there’s £4 down the drain but food was delicious as always

Great pub, restaurant and club.

Food was dreadful. The seabass was far too big for one person. The rocksalt that it was baked in, was obviously short of egg whites as it hadn’t sealed the fish and consequently the fish was over done. The fish came with half a roasted lemon. We paid £7 for a very small dish of chips, that were chopped up potatoes barely fried. The dish of leeks were dark brown, well over cooked and unappetizing to say the least. We declined dessert and coffee. As a tourist I spoke to the interim manager, who listened and was disappointed with our experience at the restaurant which has been recommended to us.

Fantastic Sunday lunch today for £15 each; 1 x roast lamb and 1 x squash wellington. Loads of extra veggie gravy too.

Lovely food. Attentive staff. Relaxed and unpretentious dining environment. This was my second visit to The Grill and it’s my favourite place to eat at Celtic Manor.

Attended as part of a family gathering of 9 on what felt like a quite busy Saturday. After some initial confusion over how we would be placing order, (after asking server directed us to order at bar) we had food out and hot in great time. Very tasty and in good portions. Some minor grumbles over sauces not being quite what expected but was greatly enjoyed. Definitely a contender to revisit next time we are visiting down cardiff.

I love this pub… outside in the summer is lovely full of locals and cold Madri! My friend who comes from Dorset loves it here because of the staff. They’re so lovely and friendly.. wanna say a special thank you to the gorgeous Hayden who is always accommodating and smiley and to see him close a pub!!????( I’m ex bar manager) I would employ him in a second! Visited here while visiting family for a few days, we had dined at a couple of other places during our stay but this place topped them all. Food was fantastic, staff were very polite and helpful, a great place and we will definitely be returning on our next visit.

10/10 shawarma, hummus is great, pides not the best but they're ok. Good quality bread & meats all around.
