Valentine's in Newport

10/10 shawarma, hummus is great, pides not the best but they're ok. Good quality bread & meats all around.

We were staying locally and decided to pop in. Oh my goodness! So glad we did. Friendly service, fabulous food and just over £70 for 3 of us for 3 courses (lamb chops were amazing I'm told) and our drinks. We will be back! We will tell others! And the family who are local will be there with their family and friends!

My friends and I visited this wonderful establishment and I would like to recommend that you definitely visit and try the dishes here.

just had a fantastic meal with the wifey here. We had the hummus & platter no1 for 2 people. The food was fabulous and had to have some as a take out as there was that much. The young lady that served us couldn't do enough for us. The chef came over to say hi and he was really nice and was happy to explain what was in the sauces etc. Genuine people and wanted us to have a great experience and we did. Definatley going back. I would highly recommend.

A great place to eat, with a service that was impeccable. My first time in a Turkish restaurant, I was really impressed. It was Clean and tidy. The food was served cooked to how we wanted and we could not fault anything. It seemed expensive, but when we got our order it was wourth every penny. I highly recommend 👌 ☺️ 👍 👏

Big Dissapointment!!! Again... Thrice bitten now, there won't be a forth. Quality has seriously dropped. Used to be very good but not anymore. Stale bread, stale salad, or I should say, Lettuce as no other veg in it. Meat Quality has also declined. Very expensive. I Will not be back as one can get alot better Quality for the pound elsewhere. My advice, AVOID.....

The best Turkish food in south wales. Every single dish blew us away. Lovely staff too, can’t do enough for you. Also, don’t leave without having baklava and tea - it’s the best.

We ordered platters last night , wings were burnt, the amount of food was much less than before for the same price , chips was not fresh , I don’t think we will order food again from them , beside that their attitude is not very good with customers.

Ordered a chicken shish kebab with cabbage tomatoes cucumber to collect ....my partner collected it ..not happy won't be going back dry chicken small amount of tomatoes cucumber no cabbage at all chilli which I didn't ask for as I don't like them all between 2 cut pieces of Turkish bread which again I don't eat bread spoiled the evening as its basically the 1 night I don't cook myself and takeaway is meant to be a treat

Lovely, fresh, tasty food. I ate lamb shish and kufta kebab it was very delicious. The kufta kebab reminded me of when I was in Turkey. My toddler had Lahamajoon which again it was delicious,freshly bake and Lovely thin crust. Over all my experience is 5 **** and I am glad that I have found my favourite restaurant. Friendly staff, very nice portion sizes, you 100% get the full of what you paid for. The lamb chops best I’ve had before will definitely be going again with the family and a very nice decorated dining area.

Ordered food 2 days ago Posting this now since they didn’t even apologise however offered to send me out new food which I didn’t want anything with meat from their again I chose something else a vegetarian option they said it wasn’t the same price (it was cheaper) which I told them I didn’t mind I just wanted food which wasn’t raw they sent it out it looked a mess also. There attitude was just awful as if they thought I was just trying it on to get free food or something ? I sent the meat in a ziplock bag back to them 🤮 I ordered the lamb shawarma and ended up with this I took a few bites and this raw piece of meat was in there which isn’t even lamb? * however the delivery woman was lovely and apologised on their behalf* 🤢 (Posting since they couldn’t apologise once and sent out my alternative which looked like it was just thrown in the box a mess) vile

Just been there for food in a passing by visit. Worst ever lahmacun anywhere in the world. Meat burnt and chewy salad is just iceberg even mc Donald’s do better salad cacık tasteless ezme tasteless the only edible bit was chicken wings and döner meat. Not very hygienic either. Not recommended at all. Avoid if you can.

Very small portions , had medium lamb shish , cost £10 , 4 small chunks of lamb , loads of cheap rice , counted 9 chips , only lettuce cucumber and onion in a very small portion of salad. Had to eat elsewhere as I was still hungry. Rip off although food tasted nice.

The food? Exquisite. The service? Exemplary (Turkish tea while you wait?! Amazing). The atmosphere? Mashallah, you can see everyone is there because they want to be. The food was cooked quickly, well, and very tastefully. I was recommended to have rice instead of just chips, so I changed my order, and I'm happy that I did. Truly happy that this food was as delicious as I hoped it would be. The chefs brought a smile to my face. I should have been going here much earlier, and certainly will return again to try more. 10/10, recommended and will eat here again.

Ordered loads from Valentines in person, always slightly smaller portions than we’d like for the money, but food is good which makes up for it. Just ordered from them via Uber for 3 mixed shawarma meals and they arrived in prison style polystyrene trays with the stingiest bit of meat and salad in each one. I also asked in the notes (which was in big letters on the receipt attached to the bag) to get some hot sauce, and they didn’t bother. How hard is that to do? I paid 41 quid for this and feel robbed. Won’t use valentines again either by delivery or in person, so well done, you saved 5p on this order by being tight, but lost a customer that consistently spends £50 per month. Good job lads.

Valentine's Turkish restaurant is an absolutely delightful place. The warmth of the team is truly heartwarming, and the food is nothing short of exquisite. One can distinctly sense the freshness of the ingredients, all cooked in pristine, clean oil. The appetizers and desserts, equally freshly crafted, are a delight. But what truly sets this place apart is the incredible warmth and kindness of the people, especially the owner. I will unquestionably return here and wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.

What a disappointment! The worst kebab ever! Massive disaster! Very expensive and late delivery! Please do a favour for yourself and don’t even bother to spend your money and time on Valentines! Awful! They shouldn’t even advertise themselves as a kebab shop!

The delivery times are ridiculous! The last 3 times I have ordered, it’s been over an hour and a half. Same excuses each time. If they stated that was the wait time, I’d order elsewhere, but it seems money is more important than customer satisfaction and honesty. The food quality is always brilliant, the portions and accuracy of the order are hit and miss these days. For £30 plus orders for 2people, I’d expect a bit of care at least.

Awful service I started coming here since sen bakery was temporary closed and got my omelette wrong I clearly instructed the lady my ingredients and still got it wrong they did offer to replace but I was getting late for work. I wouldn't have written a review but this has been a second time last time paid for a full English breakfast and had little to no chips. Will be going back to sen bakery cheaper bigger portions, better service and they never get your order wrong

Spent £150 on a family meal, 2 x family platters plus extras. Only 1 of each kebab in both boxes should of been 2, no salad in there either. Chicken shish was cooked but just barely... I was going to phone up and complain but can't see myself going back so couldn't be bothered.

Bought lamb and chicken doner/shawarma with cops and salad each box cost £12.40 me and my son 10 yrs old ate all of it. Nothing left...what a rip off first time tried the shop . ordered home made bread,but it was not in the packet as the guy who gzvd the pack didnt lnow z single worrd in english i took the pack with me. It's best to go to zen bbq opposite, real lamb steak and home made bread..won't trick u with chips and rice combo as they just sprinkle few meat on top...don't get conned, they are exploiting the community.

Have been using valentine's for a few months now after a friend recommended them. Never had a meal to complain about. But I always collect my meals. Always friendly helpful and welcoming. Would highly recommend trying if you haven't already.

Had a platter for 9 people from these guys these evening for my Mother in Laws birthday gathering. First time having food from Valantines and it did not disapoint. Food was 10/10, service was 10/10 and value for money is 10/10. 100% recomend.

Phoned to older a collection, was told to come into the shop and order as they were busy???.. Didn't order and won't be ordering, ever. I understand you get busy and thats great, but should advertise you do not take phone ordered for collection.

Great freshly made food with good ingredients.

Ordered the family plater for 4, menu stated 2 chicken sish,2 lamb shish and 2 lambe koftee but only received 1 of each. Phoned and Gentle man on phone apologised and said they would send out the missing item which came out promptly but missed the lamb shish.Use this place for a while but seems have gone down hill lately but will give 1 more cance as food is tasty.

Back here to edit my review from 1 year ago! The tables are not the cleanest and the breakfast served is definitely not of the best quality. The prices have gone up to £9 for a very basic cheap quality breakfast! Which I personally think is a rip off. They always try to argue about cash only which i think is a let down in this day & age. I don't think I will be returning anytime soon.

I was unpleasantly surprised on this my second order as my first order last week of a mixed shawarma and rice with salad was fresh and truly delicious, but on this occasion it came with obvious microwave rice 😳, actually microwave rice 🤦‍♂️, I mean sho does that! Seriously!, had it been the nice tasty fresh basmati rice I had last time there would be 3 more stars and a more favourable review but here we are......

The food tasted good and the customer service was great. It has a small car park to park your car and is in a nice spot of Newport. Will come back again.

Never thought I’d find a great kebab shop after eating out of every 1 in newport but now I have there garlic and mint sauce is 10/10 and food is always amazing love this place…..

Been here many times, and I have always supported them, but the food is sometimes a bit of a hit and miss. Especially, for the price they charge - I expected better. At least the sauces in tubs, but it was plastered all over my meal and it ruined it! The Hummus was dry, and effortless. They said it will have olives and oil on it. Well none of that, and totally effortless in taste.

Very disappointed. Am a regular customer and usually the food here is good but the service and food yesterday was appalling. Ordered and payed online for chicken sheesh with rice and chips and was only given chips, no rice and the chicken was a little undercooked. Also called numerous time but no one was picking up.

I love this place , my niece said rate it 6 stars i said 5 stars is all it goes to. I had the English breakfast literally keeps me full until late in the afternoon. Customer service is fantastic such friendly staff, ever so accommodating by far one of my favourite spots in Newport next time will try the Turkish breakfast. Always busy which goes to show the reviews speak volumes 10/10.

I rang and ordered lamb shish and chicken swarma with chips..... I received lamb shish and chicken swarma with rice. I rang the shop to complain and the phone was put down on me because I was a lil upset with not receiving my correct order, I then rang back and I was told I was speaking over him like I was some student in a high school and he couldn't tell me my correct order. When u order food you should receive the correct order and not be blamed for a restaurant/chefs mistake. If u can't read properly on a food production line don't cook!! And don't speak to me like I'm some 5 Yr old. So jus heads up everyone if this business gets it wrong your too blame!!!

Messed up our order, when I called up asking about our food, the person on the other side of the phone simply huffed and puffed hung the phone up and refused to deliver the rest of our food. The food came stone cold and wrong. Won't ever order from here again.

My first place to visit soon as we arrive the Wales.They have the best selection of Turkish kitchen, breakfast special kut borek pie I had back in home 20 years ago till I found this place .Food extremely delicious and way under price.Paca soup (corba ) another unbelievable dish was awesome.Sirin us one the best server we ever met.Owner wife, husband and son also very friendly and I feel like home.

I love Valentines! The staff are always welcoming, the food is absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. The portions are generous too. Valentines cater for vegans as well as omnivores so is great for everyone. Their bread is freshly baked and they always have Turkish tea available, a must! Don't forget to take a box of their lovely baklava home with you if you are too full to eat it after your meal.

Lovely people serving great food :D They have a brilliant variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner options. There's always tea there waiting. The portions are huge and very tasty! We usually have the pida (pizza) and either lamb ribs or skewer. Always cooked fresh, very tasty, brilliant prices and leave very full! Highly recommend :)
