Lovely location with good views over the golf course... that's where positives end. Over priced lunch that was average quality. Club sandwich was bland and the toast was burnt black and really seemed stale. Kids cheeseburger patty was over cooked. Kids fish goujons were mostly oily batter. The chicken wrap was pretty good. The side of avocado was off. It was disgusting, slimy and bitter. The waitress looking after us was helpful but sadly got caught between us and a chef who insisted it was fresh but refused to taste it despite us asking. Won't be going back.

Popular with Golf day outs so can be busy and quite loud on weekends in particular Food was excellent, very tasty and well presented Drinks are very expensive, your talking £7 for a quite weak cocktail Nice views over the 18th hole

I recently celebrated my graduation with lunch at The Grill Restaurant in Celtic Manor with my parents, and it was an unforgettable experience! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was exceptional. Special thanks to the Grill Restaurant manager, Mr. Oscar, and the chefs, Paul and Bella, for making our meal so special. Highly recommend this place for any celebration!

The food and the staff were fantastic, but I was in a mood before I got there , which is a shame , from sheer frustration of trying to find it! After circling the property over and over again, you think someone would have the sense to put a sign up with directions! Not everyone is staying at the hotel, some people just travel to have a meal. Something so simple to do would end a lot of frustration

Just a lovely place to go for a meal,

Whilst staying at Celtic Manor, we decided to book dinner here as the menu enticed us. We were booked for 2 at 9pm and whilst there were plenty of other bookings there, service was nice but felt a little bit rushed at times which I understand if it’s near closing, however we were given 9pm as a booking so it was slightly off putting to experience. The food was good, we both went for the Sirloin Steak which was nice but we ordered Medium Rare and received more of a Medium Done / Well Done steak each. Normally it wouldn’t be an issue and it wasn’t as the meal was still lovely but for the standard of the place and the manor - we were slightly disappointed that it wasn’t exactly how we wanted. However we did have a voucher included in our stay which allocated £30 per person for dinner so that was a nice bonus. The restaurant itself is just a 10 minute walk from the manor and is very nicely decorated with large windows to view the surroundings. Overall it was a nice experience and a nice dinner, but not quite what we had expected to get from a 5* place. If I were to return, I think I would probably try the steak place inside the manor, but this restaurant has countless other menu items which may be worth trying!

I would give them minus 5 stars if I could , sat at our table chose our meals and wine , wine arrived no glasses . Asked for glasses still no glasses in total asked four times finally after about 12 or 15 mins we had our glasses. I ordered Nachos as a starter a small bowl of cery average Nachos arrived plain no cheese on them a salsa sause that tasted like it came out of a well known jar and dome sour cream " not impressed ". My wife orderd the garlic mushrooms on toast , what actually came was a piece of charred black ( not exaggerated " on both sides toast covered in some mushrooms . Now im not a chef but how anyone would think that was acceptable beats me. One of our other guests chips were raw another persons food was over salted we were there for a 60th birthday celebration and the night was ruined on top of all thiis forgot to mention the foid took ages. I wasn't expecting a Michelin star meal but honestly the foods better in Tescos cafe. Its quite sad really because everything around the place is really nice but the management from the top down don't manage the place and the customers suffer you simply pay high prices for awful service and food.

Second time here. Steak very fatty and grisly. Chips cold on arrival Guy next to us ending up not eating as his food had to be sent back and 45mins later still not brought out Staff work hard tho

Sorry but overated and expensive, garlic mushrooms tasted of nothing . Watery so probably tinned yuk. Burger and chips can be bought elsewhere cheaper. Overpriced. Would not ho again freezing cold.

Bella was exceptional, she took very good care of us and went above and beyond. The lamb was cooked beautifully and the burger was perfect, from the beef patty to brioche bun! Excellent service, excellent food, excellent atmosphere!

9 of us had Christmas Dinner. 9 of us were very dissapointed. For the price we paid we expected a decent Christmas meal, but it wasn't to be. Very small portions, and the whole experience felt like we had pulled off the M4 to the services for a quick processed dinner that had very little thought put towards its making. The staff seemed under trained and had no real interest in making our experience a pleasant one. We all feel really let down by the whole experience on what was supposed to be a special day and joyful experience.

Beautiful food , well cooked and served by happy staff. Complimentary prosecco in the mall because it was Christmas, I expect. Wish I'd remembered my rennies 😄

What a busy busy restaurant, consequently service was a bit slow. The hake several of us had was superb, but the rest I'm afraid was mediocre. Chips was the biggest disappointment, ex frozen etc. Have to say the presentation was good, needed to be at their prices. Sorry would only rate this as 6/10

Steak served cold asked 3 times to correct eventually had a refund as rest of the party had finished thier food before situation was dealt with

A great looking venue with stunning views. Food menu is limited but everything we ate was fresh and well received. Service took a while considering the venue was empty for early lunch time. Would definitely re visit as the team were very friendly and we had a good experience generally.

Really poor food for the price! Starter pork belly (didn't take a picture) so overcooked completely dry minimal taste served with cold tinned sweetcorn! Main was the chicken burger - tastless, stale roll. Honestly you'd get better at the local sizzler! Staff and drinks lovely but food really let it down

Only stopped for a drink. Bar staff could have been friendlier but it was a busy time with golfers at the bar.

Enjoyed lovely meals on three occasions during our stay at the Celtic Manor resort. The service from our friendly and attentive waitress (Bella) was excellent and we enjoyed the views out over the 18th green and beyond to the Bristol Channel.

We had 3 great meals at The Grill. A lovely venue overlooking the golf course. We had excellent service from Bella for all of the meals. Hotel shuttle toThe Grill was good.

Lovely part of the resort. Just out of the main hotel. Lovely for lunch. You can look out on the golf course and see players putting the last hole.

For one of the cheaper options on site at Celtic Manor the food was amazing. Highly recommend the crispy pork belly starter. The steals were cooked perfectly and had a wonderful char to them. Portion sizes were very big. Service was incredibly attentive with very prompt service and check ins.

Good food,bit expensive £82 for two burgers, two sweets,two largers ,a wine and a coffee. 10% service charge added.

Was enjoyable - good menu and great views over the golf course. My steak was not as good as I hoped but was ok, a little on the tougher side than expected. The chicken and ravioli dishes that my colleagues had were great though.

Two out of the three staff we spoke to were rude. Long wait for food tiny portions, particularly of chilli bowl. The food was tasty.

Not too notch food but pretty good. A few vegan choices, quiet a few more vegetarian and I was told that the meat (specially the lamb) was great! I had the vegan burger and it pretty tasty

Nice pleasant place to visit better than the hotel bar food. Easy to get to a simple bus ride there and back.

The food and service exquisite a very enjoyable experience and should you be staying at the Celtic Manor Resort etc etc they do have a complimentary shuttle bus.

We had the lamb rump which was very well presented and cooked very well however the mashed potato was out of a packet which was a bit naughty for a place of this standing

A very dissapointing steak. Flavourless, tough, and plenty of sinew. In fairness it was recommended medium-rare but I went for rare, but I'm not sure a little longer cooking would have saved it. Huge portion though (too big imo)

Beautiful presented food, absolute mouth watering tastes. As a chef, it was a lovely change to eat some great food. Valentines menu 3 course was amazing with such a variety as well. My partner doesn't eat meat and highly enjoyed all of it especially the amazing Ravioli that he almost didn't finish. Will visit again when in Wales

My ribs were nothing special. We loved it here 5 years ago but I was very disappointed this time

Nice food but the toilets were horrible

Freezing. The place was cold. First time I’ve sat in a restaurant with a coat on. Others were too. I asked them if they could turn up heat but not possible. Sadly there did didn’t match up either. Really expensive for what it was. £19 for a burger. Go to mc Donald’s. It’s £1.50 and warmer.

I came here for my Christmas party, and it was great. It was wonderfully decorated and would go again.

Food lovely, lady behind bar however was extremely blunt, not only refusing to serve customers as they should be using 'other bar' but also being really nasty to the young lad who was giving drinks to tables, he was rushed off his feet and she basically belittled him, she was awful (wanted drinks from that bar as other bar was refusing to serve cwtch)

Had a lovely birthday meal yesterday with friend. Gorgeous food, Bella our server was lovely. Loved the Rose wine.

Not sure how to rate this place. Had to wait a while to be seated as no one would come and great me, even though they knew I was there. Asked for some water and got a glass from a jug from another table. I will say the food was good

We really enjoyed our experience at The Grill. My husband enjoyed The Grill Burger, whilst I had the Rump Steak. Our waitress Bella was attentive and expertly managed our experience. Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of the food and my husband and I agreed that we would book again.

Very nice spacy place, Huge garden.. If it was not rainy it could have been nice to walk around.. Food was very tasty, the service was very good, kind staff and food arrived on time..

The service was not up to the standard you would expect. The meal presentation lacked finesse and the taste was bland and when a friend and I complained, the waitress told me, she wouldn't have chosen what I had and my friend, that he had picked the wrong day to visit as the usual chef wasn't working! The experience was 'ok' and we made the most of it as it was another friend's birthday, but personally I would not go back.

We booked the Grill to celebrate my husband’s graduation and thought this would be the perfect setting. The restaurant was lovely with fantastic views but the food was below average and very disappointing. It was all over cooked and therefore not good value for money. We’ve had much nicer burgers elsewhere. Unfortunately this has really put us off returning which is a shame for such a lovely venue that we have been waiting to try for some time.

Food was bang average and it was overpriced. That said the staff and service was excellent !
