Just visited morris of usk, after walking around the lovely shopping area and purchasing meat from the well stocked butchers ( the butchers kindly cut me extra extra thick gammon steak) and then we went to the bakery for bread pudding still hot from the oven. Although the restaurant was packed we still managed to get a table where we ordered cod and chips the cod came out like a whale, never seen fish such a big portion, both myself and my daughter we unable to eat it all. It was delicious, the only down side was we both had not room left to enjoy the lovely cakes they had on display. We will definitely be returning to try them next time. Must also add that the staff work their sock off at the restaurant but are still kind and helpful.

Brilliant meal at Fantastico last night(30/04/24) The Gamberi prawn starter was lovely with really fresh prawns. Primavera risotto was delicious and Tagliatelle Carnacina was Excellent. Great dessertās accompanied by a great dessert wine.

Popped in, without a booking, and received the warmest welcome. An absolutely charming rural pub, with fabulous food, mostly delicious countryside fayre from local suppliers. I had a delicious rabbit pie - hard to find nowadays - and my wife enjoyed guinea fowl. As we ate, frequently, locals arriving were greeted by name and seated for lunch. Although we were visitors, our welcome was no less warm. A really great pub - well done!

Visited after a lovely post-Christmas walk along the canal. I ordered a bowl of soup and my husband only wanted a coffee. This cafe is in a beautiful setting and the menu looked good. However, I waited ages for the soup to arrive and in fact thought they had forgotten about me so I went to ask. I was told there were two other orders in front of me. My husband had long finished his coffee when it did eventually arrive. Great potential here but the service needs to be sorted. Hopefully this was just a blip on the day we visited.

I stayed for just the one night mid week in March and really enjoyed the stay. The New Court In is a pub with a number of rooms upstairs and there's a separate entrance if you're arriving late or leaving early. It's located in the centre of USK with all the amenities a short walk away. You can park outside on the street for free. The staff are fantastic, friendly and welcome you like their best ever guest and the rooms are comfortable with decent bedding and a really comfortable mattress ensuring a good night's sleep. My room was compact with a small ensuite and typical in size for buildings of this type. Tea & a pod coffee machine or on hand and you get fresh milk in a little thermos rather than the uht stuff that is common, this was a nice touch. Food was very good indeed - home made burger and gigantic onion rings was my choice for dinner and there's a home cooked breakfast in the morning with proper thick toast that's actually toasted and hot! Tea comes in a pot and you get a mug, another nice touch. You have to preorder breakfast the night before so it's pretty much ready when you get down in the morning. It's a great place to stay or eat. Try it you will not be disappointed.

First visit for many years and Iām glad we did. The hotel and grounds have been refurbished since the new owners took over 2 years ago and itās still a welcoming and atmospheric place. Sunday lunch was excellent and there was a warm buzz in the dining room with many people that we chatted to visiting for the first time. The staff were extremely welcoming and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. Weāll definitely go back now that we know what a good standard the new owners have set

Lovely setting on a warm day. Alongside the river and the historic bridge. Very nice place to be for a few hours. A couple of beers on tap and a few ciders. Enough of a range for me but others may want to see more options. The beer was very good and local.

Afternoon tea, was amazing huge selection of sandwiches and cakes which were delicious š„Ŗš§ š. Friendly welcoming hosts. Excellent service was given to all 15 of us with individual vegetarian and gluten free options being served. š š Only thing I would recommend is being able to choose tea or coffee rather than only tea being served. You have to pay separately if you want coffee. āļø

Over the years we have had many excellent Sunday lunches here. Today was very disappointing. Lamb was fatty and tough, no crackling on the pork dinner, roast potatoes were well overcooked. Parsnips were too soft and fatty. Far too expensive for an average Sunday lunch. Obviously paying for the recent renovations. Unfortunately won't be visiting again. Shame !!
