Just had the Sunday roast; lamb and chicken. It was fantastic, the portions were generous. So, I thought I’d be taking leftovers home for the dogs. To my surprise, I ate everything and felt like I needed to be wheeled out.

My wife and I have came by several times over the years, and always have an amazing time. Great food, great staff and great atmosphere. We have just booked a Christmas Sunday roast for the family, and all 10 of us are buzzing to head back!

What an experience… it was quiz night and the place was heaving…. But the owner was so accommodating… went to his bar (distillery) next door and tried the delicious gins, ordered our food from there and it was delivered through the hatch window! Food was superb and the guy who looked after us was brilliant- a fabulous and memorable night - 10/10

Great atmosphere and super friendly and attentive staff. We went for some cocktails (alcoholic and nonalcoholic) and a platter to share. The coffee is great as well. We would definitely recommend 👍🏻.

Excellent evening. We were a party of 4 and were all in agreement aboit the Mad Platter. Delicious food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. All 4 of us are looking forward to a return visit.

We visited for Sunday lunch. Very welcoming and comfortable surroundings. Both our children have ADHD and we politely asked if the music could be turned down and it was no problem at all. The Sunday lunch was absolutely delicious and so were the cocktails/mocktails. The lamb absolutely melted in the mouth and there were more than enough accompaniments. We were able to take the uneaten food away. Would love to visit again and highly recommend.

It’s a small place so you need to book and you really do need to book because the slow cooked lamb with Greek Salad, lemon roast potatoes, wonderful coleslaw, tzatziki, pitta bread and rice is absolutely gorgeous. Served on a wooden platter this generously portioned Sunday feast is authentic and so enjoyable. The 12 hour marinated then 5hrs slow cooked shoulder of lamb just slides off the bone. You think you won’t be able to eat it all but you will.

Wow! I can not thank Christos enough for our wedding day experience. We got married in Usk and Christos and the team hosted us for our very intimate evening. The cocktails were flowing and every single one was amazing. We were a party of 20 and I arranged before hand to have little personalised miniature gin bottles from the White Hare distillery next door to be put on the table as favours to surprise our guests. This was not a problem and my guests absolutely loved them! Communications with the team beforehand were simple and straightforward. We preordered food and also put some money behind the bar for our guests. This was all served on time with no issues. The food was amazing too! We had our own separate part of the room but we weren’t isolated and could still enjoy the atmosphere, music and dancing. I was also over the moon that my dog could attend. I have to give a shout out to our server Ruby. She was fast and competent, serving us our drinks all night with no delays. The live music and atmosphere was everything we could have hoped for, and we were so, so happy with our experience! It finished our wedding day off perfectly and I’m so glad we made the decision to come here. Would definitely recommend for a large group booking and the wedding favours were absolutely perfect!

Fabulous eatery and bar on the main street through Usk. Linked to the White Hare Distillery so the gins are amazing. Plenty of choice for other beverages if gin not your tipple. Staff are the friendliest you will ever come across and the food platters are authenticity Greek, very generous and very tasty. Great atmosphere, great pub. Enough said. 👍

Omg. Seriously - you have to go here for dinner and drinks. We had THE best time with 4 of us - preordered and truly overwhelmed but in the best way possible. Food was INCREDIBLE. I’ll talk about this for years. (And music was amazing).

I love a traditional Sunday lunch, but not all the time. Our Greek Sunday lunch at the Platters was excellent and a little bit different. Lamb, lemon potatoes, rice and other sides all complimented each other really well. Great taste and makes a nice change. Look forward to coming back again.

Wow this place is amazing!! We came for a friend's wedding reception and the food was absolutely fantastic, Greek themed, beautiful both to look at and to eat. We had Greek salads, spiced feta dip, taramasalata, fresh hummus, roasted aubergine, flatbreads, a cold meat platter, a cheese platter, dolmades, halloumi & veg skewers, pork & chicken skewers and the most gorgeous meatballs 😋 luckily there was enough left over for us to grab a take-home box! The staff were very attentive, really helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. All in all, a brilliant place to go and I hope to come back some day soon! Thank you 😊

Such a hidden gem. Fabulous food menu with the idea centred around sharing platters, fabulous vegetarian option available. Amazing cocktails on offer also; couldn't bring myself to order desert as was stuffed by the end! Service is on point, very friendly staff. And the cherry on the cake is what seems to be a regular live musician to liven the mood. Hugely recommended!

We had pre booked a table and pre ordered food platters in advance being a large group of 9 celebrating a birthday. As the restaurant had contacted us beforehand and we confirmed attendance, we expected they would have been more prepared for a larger party size ordering drinks, however we were disappointingly met with poor, slow service. We all ordered platters of cocktails each- this is a speciality the restaurant is known for and we were excited to try. Myself and a friend had ordered the espresso martini platters but were brought (after a long wait) 2 normal espresso Martinis cocktails, when we told a member of staff they said they didn’t do espresso martini platters and was confused even though they were on the menu. Another member of staff later confirmed that they did in fact do espresso martini platters. 2 of my friends had also received their cocktail platters at this point leaving 5 people in the group without drinks after a 40min wait. After another painful waiting period we were told the Mad Platter was unable to provide Platters (ironically) to the rest of the group as they only had enough small glassware for one more cocktail platter, meaning 4 members of the group had to switch their order to normal cocktails. The waitress insisted this is better value for our money as normal cocktails are larger volume and cheaper which isn’t really the point? After over an hour of waiting since we originally ordered, the group members without a drink finally got theirs. The one cocktail platter we were promised they could still make didn’t arrive and after enquiring 3 times (an extra 20 minute wait) my friend finally received her platter. However, one of the mini cocktails fell over when being placed down and she wasn’t offered a new one to replace it. At this point the half of the group who’s drinks had arrived prior to the rest, had now finished and were without a drink. The waitresses seemed to ignore our table and didn’t come back to take our orders again. We then made the executive decision to not order more drinks anyway due to the slow service and would leave once everyone had finished. We were offered 10% off our bill which wasn’t really sufficient but at this point we just wanted to leave after waiting over an hour and half for everyone to receive a drink. The only positive was the food platters that we’d pre ordered which came out on time, the service we received for everything else was significantly poor and really ruined what should have been a lovely birthday celebration. Would not return or recommend to large party sizes.

A very nice pub in the town. I went in to eat. Greek style food, very good service. The only thing that bothered me was the stickiness of the table, I don't know if it's on purpose or they just don't clean it. The food is excellent, I ordered a soufflé dish and it was satisfying and delicious.

Popped in on the off chance as last time they were fully booked. We were not disappointed. Really friendly welcome and made to feel at home. We opted for the mixed grill to share and a baklava for dessert. Absolutely delicious. Definitely going again.

We've dined here several times now and always go back!!!...such a lovely friendly layed back atmosphere with superb food. On thur 22nd Dec we all really enjoyed the acoustic duo!!!...,they were so fun which led to a fantastic festive fun atmosphere!!...Layed back Greek food is so yummy scrummy a must visit with friendly service and atmosphere and amazing cocktails.

Great food and lovely place to sit just read the T&Cs! . I went there with a few friends as a late Birthday treat with a £20 voucher. We pre booked platters as requested which were a delight! On paying for the meal we were informed the voucher unusable as we had not informed them on pre booking the meal which admitally we had missed this, We questioned why it would not be a possible to remove £20 off the bill that had been paid to them as we were all paying separately anyway ? with no coherent answer. The Staff dealt with it as well as they could and clearly were just following directions from their boss over the phone. We paid the bill in full. It might be a suggestion to derive a clearer system where vouchers can be used in premises or question on a pre booking if we had one. It was shame after a great tasting meal we left with a bit of a sour taste

We had a great supper & drinks. Spotted the bar as we headed towards another place and thought we would give it a try. Very pleased we did.

We pre-booked for a platter for two. When the meal came it was big and very flavorful. The atmosphere what relaxed too. I'd highly recommend stopping in for a platter, it's something else indeed.

If you like Greek and informal food you will love this place. Good atmosphere, polite and friendly staff and quirky decor make for a fun dining experience. We ordered the sharing mixed grill and more than enough food for two. It was tasty, well presented and tasted delicious. They have an awesome variety of gins as well

We happened upon this place by pure accident and I am so glad we did. They have a really good selection of both food and drink and offer platters for both. We had the veggie platter and it was fresh, tasty and plentiful (see pic) The venue has a lovely cosy, rustic yet modern feel and the owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. A little gem!

Great drinks selection and fantastic food!

The platter food was very tasty indeed. Our table was not in the best position and I wouldn’t have minded at all but the tables further inside the restaurant were never used. The selection of gins is great although there was a habit to give you a bottle of tonic every time even though you did not ask for it - and they added it to the bill. It was nice to try a platter between four but as often happens one greedy person takes extra chicken skewers and leaves the sausage for someone else. It made me realise I prefer my food on a plate. Lovely to try once but not regularly.

Fabulous cocktail bar. Jim Ramsey plays guitar there on Wednesdays. A truly world class musician, a great venue for music fun and excellent drinks.

Great hosting and lovely ambience. The drinks were terrific with a good selection of cocktails. We didn't eat but the platters coming out of tge kitchen were very tempting.

Christ on a bike this place was weird. I'm sure it's great when the barman knows what he's doing, but half the ales weren't available, and the 'draught' cider was served from a bottle. Maybe you'll have more luck.

We visited and dined here this evening, a birthday present 🎁 from son and family 👪. A different eating experience, simple well cooked food , an excellent experience. The food , staff , gin knowledge and atmosphere were exceptional. A return visit is a must.

Great meal at the Mad Platter, limited menu but great quality food full of flavour, you wont leave hungry that's for sure. Staff were very pleasant and service was excellent. Definitely recommend the Mad Platter.

Five of us had the most wonderful girlie night. Meat and vegetarian platters wonderful. Drinks as well. Everything from service to atmosphere, nothing could be faulted. Thank you, can't wait to be back soon.

Booked a table to celebrate a birthday. On arrival our table wasn’t ready which was a shame as I had asked that a bottle of wine was chilling on the table for our arrival. We come to order some drinks and one of our party was unable to have an alcoholic drink so we asked if they had any none alcoholic beer which they didn’t other than Coke and water which was a shame. The food was delicious and plenty of it which was great. It was 9:15 and we asked if we could see a dessert menu as we hadn’t been asked if we would like desserts. Response from the waiter was I’m sorry the kitchen is now closed for anymore orders. Really big shame as we were a booked table. Other than the above service was friendly and the bar man was fantastic at his job. We did come away disappointed as we were celebrating a birthday and hoped after being recommended by many that we would have fabulous time. Shame place looked wonderful.

Amazing selection of cocktails and other Alcohol beverages, no real ale or bitter of your thinking of getting a pint of one or the other. Very out the box thinking with the menu of drinks loved it, tables were a little sticky but what nice place to go for a drink the guy working couldn't be any nicer highly recommend this place.

Popped in here for after dinner G & Ts and were very impressed. Its not a cheap option but it is a real treat. The classic London Dry gin was absolutely bang on for me. The service was excellent too

My friend and I visited The Mad Platter for dinner and drinks. I had the feta saganaki to start and my friend had the stuffed vine leaves. My feta saganaki was amazing! A very generous portion of feta wrapped in filo pastry and covered in honey and sesame seeds - divine! My friend said the vine leaves were okay but not a patch on my feta. We then shared the mixed grill which was a huge platter of Greek sausages, chicken and pork souvlaki, meatballs and a chicken gyro with chips, Greek salad and tzatziki. The food was very delicious and tasted fresh and authentic. Great cocktails, friendly staff and wonderful food - highly recommend!

My wife and visited for our first date night since Covid began. We were nor disappointed we ordered the Greek platters with sides of stuffed vine leaves, halloumi fries and bread and dips. The platter contained pork lamb chicken kebabs and Greek sausage and mixed gyros. The food was so fresh and tasty it was incredible. It reminded us of true authentic Greek food from when we married in Rhodes. The service was excellent and the atmosphere had a great vibe. If you love your gin and cocktails you will not be disappointed with the choice. Highly recommended and we will return soon.

We had been here before as a couple but this time as a group of 5 friends. Romain was an absolute star and was very friendly, chatty and helpful when it came to choosing cocktails for each and everyones separate tastes. The drinks menu is extensive; yet each and every cocktail was amazing and come recommended. The bar is small yet the atmosphere is personal and comfortable. Would recommend and definitely going again.

Enjoyed a great early evening meal - a charcuterie and cheese sharing platter - with the exceptional variety of items only surpassed by the quantity on the platter! Really good quality and value. I would mention also, Gabriel who advised a non- gin drinker on the perfect choice from a massive gin menu. A great restaurant team always needs a good front-of-house. Our first visit but the 50mile round trip was worth it. We will be back - perhaps a Gin Tasting in the next door distillery 😜

We have visited twice recently and both times the service and food has been excellent. Highly recommend the mixed grill platter for sharing and all of the cocktails are wonderful.

My boyfriend and I went out for dinner and cocktails. I had a Mojito which was delicious. We shared a chicken souvlaki and the bread and dips. The food was super tasty and fresh. The service was great! Will be returning soon.

Had a delicious lime and elderflower gin with a friend today. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. We even bought some of their nibbles because they were so nice! We will be back :)

Since new owners took over, and have reached out and made this a million percent right. We are now regulars and love it so have edited the review. ------- Old review Booked for a table of 11 for afternoon tea. My other half had been looking forward to it for at least a month before hand. We called them 3 times during this period to update on dietary requirements etc. Got there today, we sat for almost 2 hours, right then someone decided to ask if we were eating or not. They had already missed off a lot of our drinks, But went with it. They the told us we couldn't have what we booked. The owner was incredibly stand offish because apparently a member rof staff and stated "we weren't sure if we were eating" when.we arrived, although they were unable to identify which of us had said this after being booked FOR A MONTH. So long story short, we didn't eat here. Terrible service and didn't even get a sorry.

First night out since covid! Pre booked a table for 21:30 for late drinks after a meal out, very accommodating, quick and friendly service, great choice of drinks, cocktails and mocktails, highly recommended! Tables are spaced out, hand sanitiser station on way in, and plenty...

Amazing experience. Would 100% have a return visit. The food was firstly presented beautifully and secondly tasted amazing. The drink range was huge (will need another visit to try the extensive range of gins available). The cocktail platters were an amazing decadent treat. The service was exceptional, with Chloe being the star of the show!
